I love this place! Michael was my server tonight and he recommended the Cadillac margarita! I got mine with the pomegranate flavor and it was delicious! He also brought me a second helping of tortilla chips while I was waiting for my food because I was enjoying those like crazy lol! He was super nice and has an amazing personality and smile! I tipped him almost 50% because I've never had a server as passionate and caring as him! I had to leave early, and the manager Arnie (sp?) was super quick to pack my food (Veggie fajitas with a side of avocado) for me! And he was also super nice. Food was good, got a great portion of fajitas for the price, but the toppings (guac, etc) was minimal. We asked for cheese as it doesn't come with the fajitas, and they gave us a small ramekin and charged $2, kinda lame. The service was very poor; we didn't see our server a lot so I'm guessing they had him in several sections, so he didn't notice when we wanted more water or to order anything else, but was a bit pushy about dessert and cocktails when he did come to the table. Pretty disappointed. I was craving cocktails and seafood, so I convinced my hubby to give El Torito a try! We ordered the family fajitas with four refillable side (beans, guacamole, corn bread, and rice) I thought that was nice! For drinks we ordered a margarita and a piña colada, honestly I have had better cocktails. We waited about an hour to get our food. I was hoping for the food to be tasty after waiting for so long. But was disappointed very quickly. Everything was tasteless for the exception of the cornbread. The staff was friendly but fail to inform me or apologize for waiting so long for our food. Additionally I am curious why my family was seated all the way in the back ? I did notice all of the guests in that section had children. Maybe this had something to do? Julio was an amazing waiter and gave us fantastic service. I had the buffet, which was incredible. The food was surprisingly fresh and the selection was wide. Daily happy hour from 3-7!! We ordered margaritas ($5), draft beer ($4, $5, or $6), pork sliders ($6), and wings ($6). The sliders were really yummy!! And for only $6 too!! Definitely recommend! The wings were good too, but nothing special, just wings. Minus 2 stars because: 1) The place could be cleaner. The menus had grease all over them, the tables felt sticky, etc. 2) My margarita tasted very syrupy. I ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks and an original margarita on the rocks. They were really really sweet, so if you don't like super syrupy drinks I would get something else. This is my 'Cheers' and the manager Arnie is a doll! He goes above and beyond to make his customers happy. The bartenders are amazing as well, most especially Ramon, Mag and Juvee (who I love but can't spell his name to save my life!). I have been to El Torito several times in the past 20 years and the food is always been so so. I went to El Torito last night for their Thanksgiving special and I've got to tell you it was amazing. Fresh carved turkey and ham and all the fixings to go with it and every single thing I had to eat was fresh as could be and is tasty as if I were in someone's house. Oh, I almost forgot just say that they had a full Buffet of all their Mexican food plus a taco bar that was incredible. I have not stopped raving to all my friends about how great Thanksgiving was at El Torito. Save me a place because I'm going to be there next year with not just my kids but all my friends as well. Food quality was decent, liked that they have servers at every station so the serving utensils aren't being touched by everyone. Taco station - the asada was on the salty side, chicken was good. One of me and my boyfriends favorite places for drinks and apps. Strong drinks, great food and such a chill atmosphere plus the SERVICE is always fantastic. Rosa especially is always so lovely and sweet, super attentive and always makes sure to get our food exactly right, which we can be a little picky about so bless her for her patience! She and the other server Samantha are always super sweet and accommodating and are definitely worth going back again and again for, even to just be comfortable and know you'll be taken care of there.
