Really loved this place. The staff were really nice and helpful when it came to ordering. Also like that there is indoor and outdoor seating. The prices are really good too. My favorite was the Dragon roll, it was so good! The California roll and miso soup were good too. Will definitely be back to try their bento boxes.

Hidden gem! Really solid spot in the neighborhood. I ordered the chicken teriyaki with shrimp tempura bento box and everything was on point. The chicken was flavorful, the tempura was crispy, and the portions were generous. Also tried the rainbow roll, which was super fresh and well put together. Definitely coming back.

Stopped by Emon during my Burbank Visit. Enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and wallet friendly prices. Victor's sushi roll is awesome. I love unagi so that Plate was amazing. Free hot tea + refills - No other place I know does this. Prices are great, food tastes very good. Worth a stop if your in the area. Owner is there cranking out each sushi dish. Service is kind and fast. Definitely stopping by again

I stopped by EMON in Glendale for lunch today, and it turned into one of those unexpectedly impressive meals that remind you why community‑driven restaurants deserve the spotlight. This Japanese‑style gem delivers thoughtful flavors, warm hospitality, and a level of care that stands out in the neighborhood. I ordered the weekly bento box special, and it was outstanding from top to bottom. The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned, the salmon sushi tasted clean and fresh, and the salad and bonchon‑style sides added balance and texture without feeling like filler. Even the tea and water service was attentive and well‑timed -- the kind of detail that quietly elevates the entire experience. The atmosphere inside EMON is warm, spotless, and inviting. It's the type of space where you immediately feel comfortable settling in. Clean lines, calm energy, and a sense of pride in the environment make it easy to enjoy your meal without distraction. A major highlight of my visit was Sung, the manager. He was extremely polite, courteous, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were thoughtful, and he helped guide me toward the bento special -- a choice I'm grateful for. Beyond great service, Sung's connection to the community is unmistakable. I watched him greet guests by name, check in with regulars, and engage with people in a way that shows EMON isn't just a restaurant; it's a neighborhood touchpoint. Leadership like that is rare, and it shows in the atmosphere and the consistency of the service. Parking -- often a challenge in Glendale -- was surprisingly easy here. There's plenty of parking available, and the location is convenient without the usual congestion, making EMON an ideal stop for lunch or dinner without the stress of circling the block. And for full transparency: my wife is absolutely going to be annoyed that I came here without her. After tasting this meal, I can already hear the "You went where?" conversation coming. But honestly, that just gives us the perfect excuse to return -- and next time, I'm bringing her with me. Overall, EMON delivers delicious food, exceptional hospitality, and a community‑minded atmosphere that makes you want to come back. This place deserves a spot on your regular rotation, and I'm already planning my next visit.

I wanted to try this little Japanese restaurant because it's closed on Sundays! So my friend and I went for lunch on a Monday. We were seated right away. You order & pay at the counter and they bring the food out. We each got the lunch special bento boxes which included teriyaki chicken, a little California roll, a little cucumber roll, and tempura shrimp, plus a lettuce salad, a cabbage salad and a bean sprout salad. It was all good.

It was my first time trying this place, and the experience was amazing. The food is really good and great quality, with generous portions at a reasonable price. The service is friendly as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes Japanese food.

Emon in Burbank is outstanding! The staff are super nice and incredibly patient with their explanations, making the experience feel personal. The food was very fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

The place was super clean and the food tasted fresh and well-made. We had the teriyaki combo, tempura combo, and a roll everything was delicious and reasonably priced. So happy to have found such a great casual neighborhood spot. We'll definitely be back!

This is a review SPECIFICALLY for the Spicy Tuna Don. I've ordered this dish multiple times and Emon has consistently delivered a delicious, quality bowl. The sushi rice that they use is amazing flavor wise and texture wise. It's not overwhelming nor flavorless and has a nice chewiness to it. The perfect sushi rice. The spicy tuna also tastes fresh. My favorite meal when I'm in Burbank. They accept phone orders and the workers are always friendly and efficient. Restaurant has limited seating but it's not difficult to find a table.

This is my second time ordering here and the first time I tried this place, I think I got the wrong thing. I order their stir fried noodle and it's not great. Look at the picture and you'll see why. However I'm glad this time round I ordered a myriad of other dishes because those were decent. We ordered the salmon teriyaki and sashimi + beef teriyaki bento and vege tempura. I will say the tempura was done perfectly. Super tasty and they gave a good variety of veges. I don't have photos of those because I ate them so quick. All in all, I would come back and need to remind myself not to order the stir fried noodles!

I was craving sushi and I was in the area so I stopped by to have lunch. Found them on Yelp. I was looking for a fast food kind of place and this worked just fine. The sushi was fresh and tasty. Very simple rolls but I enjoyed them much cause it truly was fresh. I ordered a spicy tuna, spicy salmon and albacore roll and loved all of them. I noticed they served teriyaki, noddles, sashimi, salads and more. Customer service was friendly and genuine. I got my order within ten minutes, I was on a short lunch break. Would love to come back and try other things from the menu cause everything people were eating around me looked and smelled wonderful.

Alex himself took my order and the food came out pretty quickly and fast. I was very hungry so I got 2 main entrées and their regular small salad with peanut dressing. Ordered their Pad See Ew with beef & shrimp that also came with well cooked broccoli. I also got their crab fried rice and stayed with my water. Both entrees were cooked really well and were hot & tasty. My only complaint was that the beef was a bit overcooked and hard to chew. A lot of to-go orders and delivery/pick up by 3rd parties. Place was SPOTLESS CLEAN, including their gender neutral restroom. They also had nice decor all around. I really enjoyed my lunch and the portions being HUGE, took the rest home for my son to eat. Parking shared with 100 businesses:-) Thank you Alex & Noodle Monster!

Usually I have a Bahn Mi but today I was craving Pho. My go to Pho spot is a little bit of a drive and I was looking for something in walking distance. No regrets. Today I had the Oxtail Pho + Vietnamese Coffee which ended up being about $28 and worth every penny. Let me tell you I am just so grateful for how delicious is but almost sad i've almost eaten it all. Let's begin with the location. Parking is tight but one thing about Lankershim/Magnolia is the side streets is your friend. Don't stress about parking bc you will find it. Inside the restaurant is very very cute, they have indoor and outdoor seating. Today they had Michal Jackson playing. Big fan! Big fan! The portion size is just right for me. It had enough to fill me up for one sitting and a little left over when my tummy settles and i'm ready for more. The broth is soooo yummy, I can't even explain it. Idk whose grandmother passed that recipe down but I love her. Now let's get into the actual Oxtail. wow, it was actually the biggest oxtail piece I think I have ever had in my life and it was so good. Finally got a chance to come-in & I'm glad that I did. Although, I have my "go-to whole-in-the-wall Vietnamese" place in the SFV, there's always room for more businesses to support & Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank definitely deserves your patronage. It's a welcome step-up from your typical no-frills Vietnamese place, so the vibe / decor is especially great if you're introducing someone to Vietnamese cuisine for their first time. FOOD **PRO TIP: Go "Family-Style" = split multiple dishes amongst your table so you can have the opportunity to try multiple delishes dishes at once. That's the move. Shaken Beef Garlic Noodles - 9.2 / 10 **GET THIS DISH!!!!!** I did my "due diligence" before coming here & I 100% knew that I wanted to try this particular dish before coming here. In fact, the person whom I came here with wanted this too. (She didn't tell me in-advance). Needless to say, when multiple people have the exact same dish in-mind, you know that this is a good sign. Strips of lean, tender, juicy, quality, tenderloin steak, well-sautéed onions, plenty of garlic, served on top of a bed of al dente noodles. What's not to love? It's like eating a big, bowl, or spaghetti, but without the overpowering tomato sauce. Don't let the simplicity fool you. Yeah, I could very, well likely make this dish as home, but sometime it' just nice to leave some things to the pros. You can't go wrong with this dish. It sounds delicious in theory & it delivers on all fronts in reality. Spicy Garlic Chicken Rice - 8.9 / 10 A nice counterpoint to the heavier beef dishes that are offered, the well-seasoned, not-overly dry, but not-too spicy chicken is substantial. Round that off with an adequate portion of perfectly-steamed white rice & some fresh veggies (your standard pickled carrots, daikon radish, & lettuce), & you got yourself a solid chicken dish. Grilled Ribeye Steak Sandwich - 9.1 / 10 I hadn't had breakfast, so I was definitely craving a bit more to satisfy my hunger. This beef variant of a traditional Vietnamese Bahn-Mi hit the spot. Since I'm used to eating more economical + fattier cuts of beef for my bahn-mi, it's a rather welcome + modern twist to be using more premium cuts of steak (I honestly might steal this move the next time I whip-up a bahn-mi at home). It was hearty & you can definitely tell that the quality is there. I could be mistaken, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some fish sauce that was used to marinade the steak. It makes for such a well-rounded, savory flavor. The crisp veggies, & aromatic cilantro round-out all taste sensations on a fresh baguette. In many ways, this is the fancier, upgraded, "Rolls Royce", of a typical whole-in-the wall Vietnamese spot's bahn-mi, & that is sometimes what you want. I would definitely get this again, especially if I was on-the-go. DRINKS Mango Jasmine Iced Tea - 8.9 / 10 Don't sleep on Mama Hong's handcrafted beverages. The mango jasmine iced tea provides everything that I want in thirst-quenching drink. You get the tropical tones of the mango offset by the herbaceous jasmine of the tea. I especially appreciate that it's not overly sweet. I especially dig that their handcrafted beverages come in customized branded plastic packaging with that soda-can lever-opener-style lid. You just don't get that anywhere. The staff is super accommodating. Shout-out to Mariska for being such a friendly & warm server. Granted, I came on a Sunday afternoon (around 2pm-3:30pm), don't be surprised if you have to wait because I can see this place being quite the trendy spot. Granted it's casual, it's still feels a bit nicer/fancier than the more relaxed bars, fast-casual spots in the surrounding area. You can't go wrong with Mama Hong's Vietnamese Kitchen - Burbank. A solid choice, indeed.
