The poke here is SO. DANG. GOOD. Easily the best poke I've had in Chicago, and I get it at least once a week. It far beats out the competition (you know the spots I'm talking about). The savory poke bowl with everything (and all sauces on the side) is my go-to. The toppings are delicious, and the tuna and salmon are both ridiculously fresh. Location: a 5 min walk from the Damen blue line stop so it's convenient if you are coming from O'Hare Hours: they close at 9pm on Friday which is a little early in my opinion Food: pretty good! I like that there's a variety of different types of food and different flavor options for each item. I've been here twice. The first time I went a year ago, I just got their sole poke bowl which was phenomenal. They have since then expanded it to multiple flavors and added fried sushi tacos to the menu. It was a nice add but the sushi tacos are a little small and somewhat pricey. We went with the fried soft shell crab sushi taco. The soft shell crab was crispy! The honey garlic wings were a good add since the tacos were not filling. My friends and I also shared the Fire burrito and the Savory poke bowl. The poke bowl was not as good as I remembered. They also left out the mashed sweet potatoes but brought a small cup out for us when I commented on the missing ingredient. I kind of wished they had a dessert menu. Each bite of the burrito was a food orgasm in my mouth, from the crunchy shrimp tempura to the spicy tuna and creamy guacamole and avocado. The burrito got a little messy, but it didn't matter as I devoured every little morsel. As for the fries, they were probably one of my favorite Kimchi Fries ever! Wafu Poke Bowl: Pretty sure I fell in love all over again with poke bowl's with the first bite I took. I had my bowl with black rice instead of white (and I highly recommend to try it!) the portions were a little on the smaller side, but that could be cause I just wanted to keep eating and never see an empty bowl. The sauces added just the right amount of sweetness and flavor, and wasn't overbearing at all. Some Poke Bowl places I have tried have a strong, fishy taste, but this dish was able to conquer that with whatever magical sauce they use. Wandering around wicker led us to check out En Hakkore. The unique take on Mexican/Asian fusion took what others have done and did them better/ right. The tacos were great, although a bit messy The main highlight being the toppings overflowing the tacos. The unique take on the shells is what really sells this spot. It was ingenious to add tempura batter and fry up the shells. Most places stick to just seaweed and the tacos/burritos become too chewy and difficult to eat, these snap without crumbling. The filings and sauce were great too. Overall. I highly recommend this new take on a fusion restaurant. Keep doing what you're doing. We'll be back for sure! read more

Sushi Burritos sure are a cool concept. I'm 'bout that life. I like En Hakkore 2.0 more than the original. It's actually completely different than the OG - you can't even order the Korean standard Bi Bim Bap here. My friends and I had a hankering for the innnovative Korean food and ordered up a couple of Bulgogi Burritos and K-Wangs. Those sushi burritos (or in our case Korean meat burritos) are huge! Just packed full of ingredients (bulgogi, rice & seaweed of course, but also egg, imitation crabmeat, tofu, spinach, carrots, pickled radish) and flavor - way better than I expected. We paid $11 a pop for them. They were so big, both us ladies in the group could only finish half. We tried to order butter corn which was an old favorite of ours at a K-Bar (rip waba) but sadly they were out when we ordered. How you outta corn yo!? We arrived at the restaurant at 2:30 pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant was empty, and they only had a few takeout orders. The food didn't take long at all which was a plus. My wife recommended the restaurant for us as she had eaten there before and liked the sushi tacos, I was leaning more towards a burrito, but she convinced me to split the burrito and get some tacos to share. Boy was I wrong. I should have trusted my instincts and gone with the burrito. The Burritos, although they ranged in price from $11-$14 were very worth it. Wow. I had only been to the other En Hakkore location, which is more of a Korean fare place. On a whim, my husband and I tried 2.0 yesterday for lunch and it was everything I've been missing from the sushi and poke deprived neighborhoods of Logan Square and Bucktown. I went with the Savory Poke Bowl, which was a heavenly combination of flavors and sauces and fresh tuna and salmon. My husband went with the Fire & Crunch and Savory tacos and they were mind blowing. The shell is a seaweed sheet that is tempura battered and fried to form a perfect taco shape with crunch but also flexibility. So basically it's better than a regular taco shell because it's crunch but doesn't fall apart when you bite it. Both tacos were delicious and i found myself envious even though I had a super delicious poke bowl right in front of me. It used to be waffle fries when I first tried them, but recently it's been the regular fries. You can choose to put either kimchi and/or beef on top of the fries. It also comes with spicy mayo and green onions as garnish. They give you quite a bit of food for the price too - a great appetizer to share! Savory/Salmon Wafu Poke Bowl: These two both have the same sauce/toppings, the only difference is that the Savory bowl has both tuna and salmon. The fish is marinated in sweet/soy glaze, perfect for those who can't eat too spicy. Compared to other poke spots in the area, they give a generous amount. The toppings are colorful, unique, and refreshing: beets, cucumbers, carrots, mashed sweet potatoes, guac, edamame, fried onions, spring mix,etc. For the base, they give you rice, either white or black. I like the black rice because it has more of a chew to it. The flavors of the bowl blend well together and you feel healthy eating it. We got the Crunch+Fire - Shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, cream cheese, jalapeno, mashed sweet potato, flakes, cucumber, guacamole, lettuce, avocado, soy glazed sauce, and spicy mayo sauce. I tried both popular burritos and man the spicy tuna will literally light your mouth on fire. There is that major spicy kick in it and they did forewarn you as well.
