I've never heard of this place so I didn't know what to expect. My family ordered chicken tenders and fried chicken with a bunch of different sides. The chicken was so awesome! I liked the original and the spicy. Both were great. The potato salad was really good, the mashed potatoes weren't the fake tasting kind from flakes, and the mac and cheese pretty good. Rolls were fluffy and sweet. My daughter said they were like bread clouds. The food overall was outstanding. I did have to salt most of my food but I see that as a plus since some places can over do it. I can't say enough about the service. We were greeted by a super friendly man who brought out samples of chicken for all of our group. The guys at the register was very helpful. I hate fried chicken, I know I'm crazy, but my fiancé lovessss it. I was pleased that there were some non fried chicken options. The rolls are amazing! We loved the food and the service was pretty great. My only complaints are the lack of a proper sweet tea and the seating. The booths are incredibly cramped and uncomfortable. A place that serves fried food should probably have roomier seating ;) All things considered we enjoyed the food and will be back, just ordering to go from now on. read more

I went in last Saturday around 1:00 Pm and there was no waiting. I found a small table and waited in anticipation for my chicken. I got 2 pieces and they were very large and meaty. It was crispy and juicy and not greasy. The fresh baked roll was very tasty even without any honey or butter. It was 5.99 and I really enjoyed it. We drove up from Walla Walla just to check out this place and we were not disappointed. It was the best chicken I've had in awhile. The biggest wings I've ever seen and the mac & cheese was awesome! We just moved over from Seattle and was craving ezelles. We would drive 30 miles to the central district to get gizzards and peach cobbler before they started expanding. I sent my father from Coeur d'Alene to the south hill to get chicken for a family gathering. We threw half of the food away after spending $80 on an order that was overcooked and side dishes served in containers the size of coffee cups. I was so disappointed and embarrassed since I raved about how good the food is. I hope that the owners will take this to heart because I know how good they can be. read more

Food is great but they should replace their chairs and tables with adjustable ones and do away with the current ones that are bolted down. A fried chicken place attracts people on the plus size too and it can be pretty uncomfortable to sit and eat when your belly is compressed between a bench and a table you can't adjust! read more

Nothing like the Ezell's in Seattle!!!! I ordered a mixed 4 piece meal and got 2 thighs and 2 legs. That is a dark 4 piece and I was pissed when I got home I saw this. I was number 67 on June 26th, 2017. I won't be coming here and since I've been going to Ezell's in Seattle, I better keep it that way. They don't know how to do chicken on this side of the state. Don't know if it is the altitude or whatever, but the chicken is not the same as it is in Seattle.The one across from the high school in Seattle is the best!!!! read more

Ordered the spicy/original meal from Ezells through Door Dash. It was horrible, the chicken was dry they gave is pieces with hardly any meat on it. The breast was more fried skin than chicken and they even gave us a chicken butt with the meal. And everybody knows there is no meat on the butt of a chicken. Thanks Ezells for nothing once again. Everytime I try to give you guys another chance Im continuously disappointed. Over priced, nickel and dime on everything (sauces.etc.) and the food is not even that good. This place is better than KFC. I dislike the saltiness of KFC chicken, and this place has a reasonable amount of salt in their chicken. The beans tasted like prepackaged bbq sauce poured over canned beans. The potato salad tasted a bit better than grocery store potato salad. The bread tasted like cheap cafeteria bread. Service was friendly and quick. Pretty good stuff. Nice and crispy, not greasy. Initially couldn't tell the difference between the spicy and regular recipe tenders. There's a definite slow lingering heat. Not unpleasant. They both have a nice black pepper or cayenne bite to them. I see the comparison to Popeye's. Mac and cheese was pretty darn good. Tried it the first week it was open and was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the staff. I had hoped this to be a replacement to KFC but this is not the case. Since my first visit the food has been lack luster to say the least with chicken either being dry or incredibly greasy with little to no flavor. The sides are OK but not worth what they charge with the Mac and cheese having no cheese flavor and the beans get old fast. If you smell old grease turn around and save your money. Ezell's is just to inconsistent and the staff seems to have given up with regards to cleaning. read more

We vary the sides we get, there are quite a few to choose from. We love it, so glad they finally came to Spokane. They've been in Seattle forever. read more

After a long day of Christmas shopping yesterday I took my grandchildren (2&4) to Ezell's for dinner. We were all wiped out and I was in line to order trying to keep the 2 year old from running out the door with a bottle of ketchup in hand. Granting this was my first visit and I did not get to sample too many items on the menu, I walked out feeling so disappointed. I ordered the basic combo - chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, and their Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was okay, but the mashed potatoes and gravy were the worst I've ever tried! It was tasteless and uninspired. Chicken was decent, but not worth being a repeat customer. The joint is tidy and the staff is friendly enough. The first few times I tried Ezell's, the chicken pieces were large with the perfect amount of very tasty breading. The ensuing visits resulted in more breading and less chicken, especially on an all dark meat order, kind of like the old bait and switch. Disappointing! read more

i finally made my first visit today. i pretty much knew what to expect. did a little research. had worked up at appetite grocery shopping. decided to venture over. my wife wasnt terribly hungry, nor was i for that matter but i can always put down some good fried chicken. wife got a 1 piece kiddie combo and i went with a 2 piece dinner combo. we both got mashed potatoes and gravy, i also got cole slaw. both combos also came with a dinner roll. some slight confusion from the girl taking our order but she finally got it figured out. she let us know up front they just had a big order go out the door and there would be a 15 minute wait. that was ok with us. she immediately hooked us up with a 10% discount. nice! very small dining area with limited seating. the obligitory Guy Fieri visiting photo. but it smelled sooooooo good! maybe waiting was going to be a good thing. tremendous customer service from everyone we encountered except the girl taking our order, id'd on the receipt as miranda. that was nice she gave us a discount but otherwise came off as abrasive and not pleasant. another young lady kept checking on us, offering pie or whatever. the young man that dished up our food gave us a free side of mac and cheese and a piece of sweet potato pie. all that food for under $16. very nice!! i went with the white meat mixed, so i got a spicy breast and the biggest chicken wing i think i have ever seen. first impression? meh. obviously hot and fresh but really not a lot of flavor in my wing. the meat appeared to be batter fried but i wasnt detecting a lot of seasoning. my spicy breast was pretty good though. mashed potatoes were ok but the gravy was amazing! cole slaw was delicious, though she didnt like it, with a really tasty dressing. mac and cheese was just ok, she hated it more than the slaw. sweet potato pie was really good. fairly impressed with my first visit though i wouldnt seek it out again unless i was in seattle at a location. read more

After informing him we were first timers, he told us exactly how they make their chicken fresh from scratch and offered us samples of his most popular items, just so we knew he wasn't lying. Just finally made it into Ezell's and I'm glad I did. I got the two piece, all white meat, half spicy and half regular with two sides. The chicken was moist and tender and the spicy was just spicy enough. I got mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy for my sides and I liked them both and the portions were large. I've been to Ezell's twice now. I get the half pound tender combo (half original half spicy) and I get my son a snack pack with drumstick. The coleslaw has really decent seasoning and isn't mayonnaise tasting like some slaw. The BBQ baked beans are amazingly good and everyone loves the rolls. After the first visit I learned I better add a few rolls. The mashed potatoes don't have a paper/cardboard taste like some fast food establishments. I am a big fan of fried chicken. We take our chicken seriously. I love the tenders and the drumsticks. Crunchy and taste just like I made it at home but with none of the effort. The spicy chicken blows my mind. It's so spicy without adding any pepper flavor to the chicken. I like that because you still get to taste your food before the nice burn sets in. They've been open for a couple weeks now and it's still really busy. I don't mind the wait especially since all of the people working there are still patient and kind even with a packed dining area and lines out the door. Like any new place, Ezell's was busy and quite crowded. The wait for a single order was about 30 minutes. That being said, the wait is worth it so come in knowing that! The chicken was freshly made and they just couldn't keep up. I've never seen product fly off the shelves like that before. The fried chicken was succulent and flavorful (I got the spicy recipe). The mac 'n'cheese was delicious and had a nice kick to it. They've got a great selection of southern-style sides (baked beans, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, etc). There are a couple of dessert options, namely, sweet potato pie and peach cobbler. There are several combo options and kids meals as well and everything is reasonably priced. For a taste that's 100x better than KFC and not as pricey as Casper Fry, definitely get to Ezell's today! There's a reason they are so successful in Seattle and the West side. And the food...not much more expensive than other fast food emporiums (KFC et al.) but so so sossososososososooooooooooooo much tastier. Fresh, homemade, and made so well.
