Ambiance: 4 /10 To be fair, it is a small airport spot, so there is only so much they can do. It is your basic grab and go pizza type counter. Nothing special, but it caught our eye when we were hungry, so that counts for something. Service: 8 / 10 The woman at the register was really friendly. She asked about our travels and chatted with us while they warmed up the stromboli. It was a simple interaction, but it made the experience nicer. Food: 6 / 10 The pepperoni stromboli was decent. Not amazing, not bad. I do wish it had been warmed a little longer so it was crispier on the outside. Flavor wise it was solid, and the marinara sauce definitely helped. Pizza, anyone?! The Famous Famigila inside the Sacramento airport offers large slices of pizza, Stromboli 's, garlic knots, and cinnamon knots. I think there was salad, too... but I was only paying attention to the pizza! They pull you a slice from a large pizza and stick it into a scorching hot oven for a few minutes. There was pepperoni, cheese, all meat, and veggie. The service was great! He was positive and very outgoing, which I feel like is needed at an airport. The pizza was ok. Toppings were great, but even I picked up my slice, all the toppings on the tip of my slice slid right off. I couldn't dunk in ranch unless I wanted more toppings to fall off the limp pizza. The crispy crust at the back of the slice was delicious. As tasty as it was and as great as the service was... that limp slice is what lost a star. read more

First, best value for the buck. $16.15 gets me a bottle of juice (cheapest in the airport), a fresh slice of pepperoni and a 10 piece cinnamon knots that I give to the flight attendants. Where else in the airport are you getting this much for less than $20? Second, they are directly across from the restrooms. I place my order, pay for the order then hit the restroom before my flight. The best thing about Famous Famiglia is the speed of service. Even if the lines are very long, things move along very quickly. Prices are also a lot lower than most airport establishments. The food is average, which it seems is about all one can ask of airport cuisine. read more

This is one of my go to spots at the SMF airport! Basically before any flight in the B terminal you can devouring the spinach and cheese stromboli at Famous Famiglia. The service is great and they were friendly. Laneya on register was super helpful, patient, and kind! I didn't have too long for my order and it was super close to my gate. They have the pizzas/stromboli already made and then are reheated in the oven so there is nice crust. The only bummer is there is no beer or wine and it's only to go. Thankfully it's right next to Burgers & Brews, so it's not too far to make it a complete meal and there is a big seating space near by where you can sit. read more

Terminal B and I had some time before my flight. I got a #2. A slice and a side. I chose the vegetarian slice and a side salad. It didn't cost $50. It was like $15.95 or so. Given the state of the world I thought that was fair for an airport price point. Nice size slice. Thin crust like New York style. Good flavor and I liked the veggies and sauce. Pizza slice was room temp after being in their oven for 15 minutes. Paid a buck for a side of ranch and they hand me one that was 20% filled. Normally I wouldn't care but it was annoying so I asked for another one because this was empty. I normally don't fly in and out of SMF airport so I didn't know what to expect in terms of food options. I came in the morning and every restaurants and grab n go places were serving breakfast. The issue is that almost every single place sells the same thing: eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, etc. There was barely any variety. I chose Famous Famiglia because the lines weren't long. There were only two staffs working. I was able to order my food quickly but it took a while for me to receive my order. I ordered the breakfast platter with 3 items (eggs, potatoes and sausage). I believe they warmed up the bowl before giving it to customers. The food was barely warm though. Food was edible but nothing to crave for. There were about 4 different varieties and I opted for the cheese and vegetable Stromboli. You have to wait like 5 minutes for them to warm them up in the pizza oven. This time I was disappointed. They don't fill the Stromboli like they used to, less cheese. I ate half and saw that my remaining half was just pizza dough. Half of it tasted OK the other half I threw away. My slice of mushroom spinach pizza was delicious and I was stoked they didn't charge extra for the side of marina sauce. I typically fly Southwest Airlines, which means I go through Terminal-B. I'm really unenthusiastic with the food options. I understand that the concessionaires have higher operating expenses in the airport--but all of the offerings in Terminal-B are lackluster and overpriced. It's a strange compliment, but this slice joint is the least worse food option (from a price perspective). Wow they surprised me. It's is an airport and I know they have hi rents and you see that in pricing. 700ml water for $6.x is still a robbery but that's not my review haha. But when I had a bit of hunger and looked for a sandwich at the newspaper shop and they started at $15 I was deciding against it. And a burger for around $20 hmmm then I came by at this pizza place. And it not only looked good but was fair priced a small fresh garden salat for $5 is a steal at an airport. I ordered a chicken Stromboli garlic knots ($2.99) and for a $1 more I got cinnamon knots as well. And of course the salat for all that I paid $18 - a full course dinner menu! You can't top that. I am not a big pizza guy - but I'll have to say this was all delicious. The salat fresh and with quality ingredients like radishes and carrots! The garlic nots come with a fresh marinade sauce that was so good together. The Stromboli (an Italian "bread" made out of pizza dough and filled with ingredients like in my case chicken was hot and the dough just very tasty and the filling was a good amount. Then the cinnamon knots came with a cream cheese dip and have a great ending to a meal. I was really impressed it was tasty and very fair priced! I would come back any time when I.
