Sorry, not a fan. Hipsters galore. Hipster here, hipster there, hipsters everywhere! We tried their toast, quiche, and iced coffee for brunch. Toast was ok, quiche was already cold and bland when I bit into it, and the iced coffee was not as bold as I was expecting. Maybe it was the ice, but it was too watered down. Seemed a bit pricey considering. There is no ambiance or seating - it's an extremely small space crammed under what looks to be an apartment complex. Employees seem frazzled. Maybe I'm wrong, but they claim to use ingredients or produce from local farmers (in their bio), but I saw them take salad mix out of those plastic containers you find at Costco or other markets. Suspicious?! Needed a second brunch since the portion was so small. I guess if you live close by and need a quick coffee and pastry, it might be a good option. read more

The place is somewhat cozy and cute, although the space can definitely be bigger for a busy city like SF. I feel like the largest group can be a size of three, anything bigger will make it really awkward and clumsy. We ordered the cereal bowl and the croissant sandwich. Neither of them was special at all especially for the price. On top of it, we had to clean up the table from the last round and the round before that, since nobody was collecting the dirty dishes. An adorable place! I got toast with marscapone and fruit and it was delicious. I also tried my the croissant with ham and mozzarella that my dad ordered, which also was great. It's really small with room for only two or three groups inside, but that gives it an intimate feeling. It is in a nice cozy spot and right across the street from where I was staying. I got there at the perfect time as some people were leaving so I could have my choice of spots at the one table inside. The house coffee was excellent and on the menu was an egg and croissant sandwich with candied bacon and creme fraiche. A perfect combination. I'm in love with this place. I work down the street and come here to grab breakfast occasionally when I don't have time or forget to make my own. I have to say, everything I've had here is delicious, fresh, and amazing. The daily toast is to die for. I see that there are a few reviews saying it's not worth the price, but it totally is. Don't forget how much it costs to run a restaurant business in San Francisco -- considering there are places where breakfast can run you $10 or more for something crappy, I don't mind paying $7.50 for a delicious, beautiful, colorful and fresh breakfast. The savory tart is also quite good and comes with a little side salad that has the best dressing. Now let's talk about the coffee for a minute. I am a coffee fiend, and I LOVE farm:table's coffee. The iced coffee is simply delicious, the mocha with TCHO dark chocolate is divine, and the steamed milk and espresso takes third place in a strong lineup of caffeinated beverages. The house juice is also quite good. I can't say enough good things about farm:table. Try it out, you won't regret it! read more

Full disclosure I did not eat here but I just wanted to share some info that - as a visitor - I wish I had known before going out of my way to come here with my two kids and husband for breakfast. This place is teeny tiny. There is one indoor table and a few outside which is on a busy dirty street. It is not kid friendly because of the limited menu and size. We had to turn around and go elsewhere. This isn't meant to be negative because I'm sure the food and coffee are great and I would have enjoyed it if I had been alone. Charming place, and we had a delicious soup, not to mention the excellent macchiatos! The house espresso is fab - a custom blended roast that's caramel-y and chocolate-y all at once. :) I feel *incredibly* lucky to have such a delightful cafe in my neighborhood, and love the sweet touches here, like little greens growing in the flower boxes outside. This was a neat experience. We ordered breakfast here I got a quiche and the egg sandwich. We sat at a community table in this tiny little place. I also got a chai matcha latte that was really good. If I went back I would definitely get the cereal and he fruit toast... those seemed to be the most popular and they looked delicious. Farm:table is best for coffee to go. They do serve food, however there is only one communal table inside and a few tables outside (which are on a hill, so u must be careful) so eating a sit down meal might be difficult here. I didnt eat here, so this review is solely for the coffee. For their lattes, they do not have flavour shots, which is a must. I know purists frown on them, but a splash of vanilla or caramel compliments the coffee so well. Instead, i had a coffee, for $2.25. There was nothing wrong with it, it was just really fruity. Some people are into that, but i am not. Farm:table is right near Dotties, so you can go there for breakfast and then walk here and have a coffee or tea. read more

All I can say is, WOW! Found this on our recent trip to San Francisco. My daughter is a big fan of fresh, locally grown products....so she yelped a breakfast restaurant near Kensington Park hotel. If I could drag this place back to Pittsburgh, I would. I am seriously craving their daily toast and bis quits with egg/cheese. We also sampled the almond milk addictive. The only drawback is limited sitting. It was pretty cold when we visited so we'd grab a seat outside......and eat quickly. TRY IT..........fresh, delicious won't be sorry. read more
