After not having Fat Tomato for a couple years I decided to give it a try. Enter sad face here. I ordered a large pepperoni and 3 garlic knots through DoorDash. It got here in good time although I am a quick 2 min drive away. I was SO excited....and hungry. The knots were warm and delicious and the Marinara dipping sauce tasted super fresh and flavorful. The pizza on the other hand was lackluster and such a disappointment. It was burnt, over baked and super greasy and because of that the pepperoni was the only thing I could taste. The burnt taste overpowered it all and sort of dried out the whole pizza. Thankfully the pepperoni was good but that wasn't enough to justify paying the already inflated prices of take out/delivery these days. Oh well, I gave it a try. read more

I've eaten here 3 times and gotten the same pizza every time, the Popeye. The first time it was amazing. The second time it was really good. The last time I was not happy. I love pizza and we eat it a few times a month. I used to live in San Pedro and was loyal to Stuft Pizza and I realize now, it's because the bottom crust is always crispy and the pizza was cooked through, even though it's a regular style crust. Basically, I refuse to eat soggy pizza where the crust that's under the cheese is still raw. This is what happened the third time. I think it went into the box fresh out of the oven, which is good, but by the time it got to us it was melted to the bottom of the box and very soggy. So that was a bummer. I finally get a chance to try Fat Tomato Pizza's Vegan slice, and I like it. The minimum for card use is $5.00. I add two toppings (Garlic and Mushrooms, .45 per topping) to get over the card use limit. The establishment does not have Vegan Garlic Bread, but, adding Garlic to the slice does make parts of the slice taste like Garlic Bread. I think price wise, it's better to buy an entire pie, Specialty, Vegan wise, than a slice, from this establishment. Good customer service, and quick service in general, in my experience. The cauliflower crust pizza was the best I've ever had -- I almost couldn't tell it wasn't a regular crust. The cheese sticks were good (not spectacular but that's probably because they got soggy due to the delivery time) and the sauce was spot on. This pizza included roasted eggplant, zucchini, red and green peppers, and added chicken for some protein. Plus, I couldn't forget their creamy ranch dressing for dipping! This place is extra dangerous for me as I live super close to it and I'm always trying to diet! Luckily I'm able to limit my visits to every couple of months on a cheat day. And when I cheat, I most definitely cheat. I've tried 5 of their suggested pizza and haven't been disappointed once. The Fat Tomato Works is their combo pizza and is one I would definitely suggest for a first timer. Meat Lovers isn't bad considering there are no veggies on the pizza which is a huge no-no for me. Veggie Lovers is more up my alley and I'd prefer it to the Meat Lovers. The Belmont Special is my favorite and has tomato, garlic fresh arugula, goat cheese and basil. Lastly, the Aloha Hawaiian is usually not my cup of tea as I believe pineapple on pizza should be criminalized but it's very tolerable here. I've also had the Antipasto Salad and it's pretty good, considering it's a pizza joint salad. The employees here are always nice and you can actually prepay online through yelp and just pick up your pizza at the designated time. read more

I haven't eaten here before, but I have visited the one in Lomita. This is my first time visiting this location, but the service was very well. They have hand sanitizer at the restaurant and they do limit the amount of people that can be in the restaurant at one time. I ordered ahead of time and picked up my pizza with no problem. I ordered a large pizza half of it the Popeyes white with the spinach and the other half a supreme with pineapple. The pizza is always really great and has good flavor, my only suggestion would be that sometimes it's a little too flimsy. It's a easy fix you just have to ask them to cook it well done. I did forget to request that on this pizza, but all in all it was good. I know there are a lot of pizza places in the area, but this is always go to where I know I'll get a solid pizza. The girls at the store were very friendly, although the one making the pizza was the queen of cross-contamination. If you know, you know. Their extra large pizza was $27.49 for the same size as a large pie elsewhere, and it was nothing more than a Costco pizza with a crisper crust edge.
