I'm a big fan of Fat Burger, I go often, usually 2 times a week. I haven't visited this location in a long time (2+ years) and had a somewhat off putting experience last time. This time, I ordered a plain burger, nothing on it but onions, and even got the receipt and double checked with the cashier that I only wanted onions on my burger, she confirmed that I would only get a burger with onions. However when I received the burger, it was packed full of everything, including cheese which they charged me for. I would consider this location to be not up to par and have poor customer service. read more

The food was fine for a diner, but it definitely did not meet my expectations from all the hype. Where's the chili? I used to LOVE Fatburger. I'd always get a large with chili. Man, that burger would be swimming in chili. It was hella messy, but stupendously delicious. Now, however, when I order my Fatburger with chili... I cannot even see it, and I certainly can't taste it! I brought my burger back to the counter to show them and said "I think you forgot my chili." Their response: "Its there". I do not know if this is true for all Fatburger restaurants now, but at this one (3rd and La Cienega), you get a tiny spoon of chili. (I observed them preparing it the next time I went.) I placed an online order for pick up this evening. I sent my 15 year old daughter in to pick up the order since it was paid for. Before she went to the counter she stopped at the restroom since we had a 2 hour drive back home to San Diego. A female employee confronted her and accused her of not being a customer,while trying to use the bathroom. She questioned my daughter and didn't even apologize when she did in fact see that there was a paid order waiting for her. Very rude of the female employee. FOOD POISONING!! I was starved and despite the homeless crowd parked in front of the location, I thought how bad could it be... It's a Fatburger across from the Beverly Center. First went to bathroom and walked in on a woman doing her business and asked myself why wouldn't she lock the door. Turn out she couldn't because BATHROOM DOOR HAD NO LOCK!!! Despite my better judgement, I ordered a burger and a milkshake! Yada yada yada, now i'm sleeping next to the crapper and barfing my brains out!!! It was all I had to eat today and judging by the excruciating stomach pain it had to have been a moldy unsanitary milkshake machine in that location. What in the school-cafeteria hell did I do to deserve this dry, lettuce-y, flavorless burger?

This place is an average of 5 stars for food, and 3 stars for interior. It's like 5 stars for the burger because I get it charbroiled with an egg. I use the green tabasco for some kick. Their burgers are more hefty than In and Out but not too much like the gourmet $16 burgers you find in the area. You have to get it charbroiled, it's so much better than not charbroiled. The fries are fine. I would give the dining area 3 stars because it doesn't feel like the cleanest, and it is not the best decorated. It feels like you have to eat very quickly and get out. It is not the most welcoming space. I obviously sat in the best seat because it was still warm when I sat down, while every other chair around it was empty. It was the middle of a larger table. I suppose most people take their burgers to the outside seating. There is a parking lot but I walked here. Lots of people waiting for the bus outside, that's the kind of vibe at this Fatburger. read more

The burgers here are pretty decent! I think they tasted pretty good compared to other burger spots I've been to. Since it is an LA thing, I expected more out of it. My man was REALLY craving a burger this morning, so we popped down to Fatburger because it's right down the street from us and I thought it was shameful that I've lived in LA for so long and never had it. He used me as a guinea pig to try out their burgers seeing as he usually likes his plain; I ended up with the medium burger combo (no relish, no pickles, added bacon and cheese) and he got the chicken strips and skinny fries. Overall, it was a very mediocre experience. It took about 20 minutes to get our food, but I figured since a) it is made on the spot and b) nobody else had gotten their food yet, this must be how it always is; so if you're on a tight schedule, pass. We got our order to go because I like the convenience of having it packed up for me in case I want to take it home. Props to them for packing a very sufficient amount of ketchup and napkins in the bag, which a lot of other places forget about. My burger was larger than I expected and there was a respectable amount of fries that came with the combo. One thing I have to point out is that their fries are REALLY consistent. Each one is perfectly cooked and they just need a touch of salt and pepper to be considered good. The burger looked great; the only major problem I had was that it was lukewarm. It took 20 minutes to make it and the thing isn't even hot! Whatever. I figured it was all the lettuce, tomato, and sauce it was covered in that made it cold. The bacon was also cold, which struck me as odd. It would definitely have been better if these two things were fixed. The surprising part was that their meat patty was seasoned, and that is a major win. The chicken strips were, to quote my boyfriend, "the largest individual strips" he'd ever had; would've been great if they had had better flavor to them. Also, the lack of combo options for their "big fat deals" menu really sucks; ~$6 for the entree, $2+ for the drink, $2+ for the fries? The total for the two of us was around $20. With all of the add-ons and combo price, it just makes way more sense to go to Johnny Rocket's and get unlimited fries and a giant sandwich/burger all in one go. I did not mind thinking all was going to be fresh. Again the hamburger was good the meet was cooked medium well. So a little dry for my taste, but not bad The mix of hamburger toppings mayo, pickles, rakish, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, makes it really good. We ordered one small and one medium burger and they were good We also ordered sweet potatoes fries. They were disappointing. They were greasy and some were half cooked. The long thick pieces, I guess make it difficult for them to get cooked properly. I did not enjoy then. I had to throw them away. Even after adding salt they did not taste at all. We also ordered onion rings. Onion rings were not golden crispy, but same time not were undercooked. They did not much flavor. I guess the problem is the batter. The only reason this place gets a 3 star is for the food...but the manager or the guy that acts like one...is an A hole. Got two fatburgers and order of chili cheese fries. Showed him the stamp card and he sign one. Explained I got two and he said 1 per order. There is no where on the card and years of coming to any fatburger that I was told this. The way he has yelled at his co worker while they took orders is awful. His actions have been so abrupt and matter of fact as though the people here...both working and eating are bothering and wasting his time. I've never been disappointed at this particular Fat Burger. Very professional. They're very fast, efficient and the food always comes out as ordered. They get to know you by name. I love Fatburger. I have been going to Fatburger when the burger when I have the craving for a great burger. Which is frequently. I usually go all out and have and have a chili cheese burger with an egg on it. The food is always great and the chili cheese fries are a must. I also like the vanilla shakes which are always great. Service is hit and miss depending on the time of day. I have been there and got mediocre service, and other times really great service. Sometimes it takes longer to get an order and fast other times. All in all the parking is easy with a big lot in the front, the food is always consistent, and I have never had a bad experience. I've been hooked on Fatburger since a buddy took me to one the first week I moved to L.A. I can honestly tell you that every single burger except the one I punted (that's a story for a different day) has been delicious. Being a huge fan of burgers and also NFL punters I have to say this place hits or should I say kicks the spot. This is a close by lunch spot and every now and then I have to answer Bellyworth's call. Dropped in (with a call ahead 10 mins) to pick up my big fat deal. Fatburger medium sized with cheese and the works, fat fries and lemonade. The fries are perfectly seasoned and stay hot for a while. Crunchy on the outside and soft and warm inside. The lemonade is really good its pretty tart so its a great palate cleanser in between bites of the fatty burger (stuffed with fries- that's my style). The burger is well seasoned and pretty darn good the best fast food/ counter service burger IMO. In comparison to the other chains its bigger, tastes way better and travels much higher and further when punted. Reggie Roby would be proud! The big mac has too much bread so the transfer of energy from foot to patty is absorbed by the bun. It really doesn't bounce off the foot. The whopper is too broad and lacks the overall weight to stay together after impact. It was sort of like kicking a wet towel. The jumbo jack explodes on impact sort of like your bowels after consuming one. In-n-out while tasty and cheap just not wrapped tight enough for low altitude flights. Service was polite and fast not one complaint. All in all if your are looking for a quick spot to grab a good burger to eat or punt this is the place for you. read more

The gentleman at the counter was extremely rude to me during my visit. It was a hispanic guy with slicked back hair. As I was trying to order he kept motioning with his hands for me to hurry up and saying "cmon", started yelling at other people during our interaction as well. Secondly, when I was brought my food by the tall, older, asian gentleman there, I said thank you very clearly and he completely ignored me.
