Erewohn meets Mitsuwa I have been a big fan of Little Fattty and when i heard they had opened a mart, I was excited to try. I was nearby with my kid and we decided to drop in for a late afternoon snack. The setup was great with seating area in the front and then as you walk in there were places to buy specialty Asian goods and all the food options were in the back. I immediately went to the back to grab a couple of slices of pizza since this was just a mid-afternoon snack. There were a variety of options and food items to get. We proceeded to get the Mapo Tofu Pizza and Birria Pizza (not pictured). I love how the chef brings the fusion element of Asian and western food together just like Little Fatty. The slices were delicious and so unique. I always say pizza starts and ends with the dough and this is what made the pizza so special. The right amount of chewiness and crust to make a great pizza . The sauce and the accompaniments were great and the flavors were so different. I will definitely go back and try the other food items. Come and try it out! read more

Such a new gem! Looks to me like an Asian-American fusion market! The space isn't too big, it's like a one big section with many little sections/counters. One thing I first saw was almond butter spread. If anyone hasn't tried almond butter before, it's great! There is coffee bar and pizza bar. I believe they will change up the pizza flavors and varieties every day or week. Last time they had Mapo tofu pizza.. woah And lastly, they have a dining area in the front with self serving condiment that has water tank, napkins, disposable chopsticks, pepper package for pizza, etc. Definitely going to be pretty popular real soon I feel. read more

Closer to 3.5 than a low 3, I've been to Fatty Mart a handful of times now and each time has been enjoyable but I can never find consistency in their food, I honestly feel like it depends on what you order but sometimes their food is bursting with flavor while sometimes it simply lacks the kick it needs to make it a decent meal, the cashiers are always so friendly tho and they always assure that the dining spaces are clean since they have tons of people coming in and out, especially during the lunch rush. Some food items I found enjoyable were the different rice bowls and their salads, I had their pork belly banh mi and unfortunately, I think I got a bad cut but most of the meat was fat and I had to pick a ton of it out. read more

Such a fun place to browse and find ingredients you didn't know about! Interesting selection of Asian items mixed in with other cuisines. Even a good local small-batch Sourdough bread. I love that they have not just the corporate brand items here - support local and small businesses! The Mart is just around the corner from their restaurant, so a great place to get ingredients once you are inspired by eating a great dish at the restaurant. Plus, some of the restaurant dishes are pre-made and served to-go here. read more

Was really my favorite place to go to for over a year. Friendly staff, big portions and incredible food. Then, they changed the menu and it hasn't been the same since. No more pizza before closing, the bowls feel half the size as they were before, my favorite sandwiches are all gone and the staff doesn't come out with tasters or samples anymore. I understand cost cutting, but doing so at the expense of everything they were best at is the wrong way to go about it. Disappointing that I'll have to find a new go-to spot. read more

Stopped by Fatty Mart after the Mar Vista Farmer's Market for lunch, and I thought the place was pretty solid for what they trying to set up. It's kind of like an East Asian themed bodega, but more on the high end scale (for the grocery store part at least). They have a lot of Asian cooking essentials, which are kind of marked up, but works in a pinch, especially when your options in this area are Mitsuwa/Marukai/Nijiya (good luck with non Japanese items) or maybe the Westwood Ralphs? before you have to journey to the valley or Ktown. They have a lot of cool independent brands too (but when are they getting Fly by Jing??) and imported goods like international brand potato chips and Kit Kats etc. Selection could be larger, but I'm sure they're working on it. Prices are kind of high, but kind of make sense as a specialty shop. They also serve food and coffee in the back of the store, which are actually at reasonable prices. Anyway, overall, you could kind of tell that staff is still getting used to the swing of things, but the place looks amazing so far, and I'm digging their food menu. I tried the lemongrass grilled chicken banh mi, and I thought it was really good! I could definitely taste the quality of the ingredients, and I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu. I came around 11am ish, and it was definitely starting to get crowded when I left around noon. I'll re-review when I revisit, but it's just 4 stars for now since they're still trying to feel their legs. Hope Fatty Mart has a successful future though! read more

This was a really cute asian grocery store that had all the essentials from snacks to cooking ingredients. I love that it has a counter for to go food. Mapo pizza was hands down the best thing we ate there. The mapo flavor was there and noticeable but i wish it had even more of a punch to it. Mole negro pizza was just ok. Felt kind of bland and lackluster, didnt really taste the mole. Vietnamese pork meatball banhi mi: pork was flavorful and tender, veggies were crisp but lacked flavor. The bread was just avg. I def give them 5/5 for creativity! It was a really good play on asian flavors on pizza. Would still recommend everyone to give it a try. read more

I was so excited to check this place out since I love supporting local businesses and it's AAPI month! But I find this place is very confusing. It has some asian prepared food, prepackaged stuff like ramen and condiments a very small section of some sad looking produce. But also has a coffee bar, also sells slices of pizza and convenience store stuff like beer and kettle chips. It is trying to be 711? Is it trying to be a grocery store? A deli perhaps? All of it? Most of the food stocked is asian, but it also has corn tortillas and pasta and did a I see some brats in the fridge? Above my confusion on their identity, are the empty shelves. LOTS of empty shelves. And the thing that really put a cherry on top of the experience are the prices. You trying to charge $16 for fish sauce. $8 for oyster sauce. $16 bucks for a few blocks of ramen? I heard someone giving a tour of the store to a couple. Was it the owner? He said "we're still figuring it out." I do hope you figure it out. It has so much potential. But for now best wishes. Thoughts and prayers. read more

This place just opened and already has a lot of people coming through. Since it just opened shelves were not as packed. Still had a good selection of different Asian and other products. It's the west side so of course prices are a little high but you're paying for the convenience. The store is spacious and brightly lit which is great because a lot of little marts are usually crammed pack and have dimmer lighting. There's also an area to dine with water offered that's great if you want to buy something inside and eat immediately. The pre-packaged meals were mostly Mexican or Korean which was a little sad. Was hoping to see some Taiwanese options. Overall a good place if you have some must need Asian ingredients and appreciate I can find Taiwanese products. Will probably wait to come back to see if there will be more options but a good place to shop at least until the 99 Ranch opens in Westwood. read more

But always excited to see new concepts on the west side that share culture through food options and especially want to support Taiwanese American entrepreneurs. Really loved the Banh Mi sandwich for $12.50 and planning to stop by regularly when I'm on this side of town. To the Taiwanese reviewer who gave 2 stars for not being a Taiwanese market. What's wrong with you. No one said this was a Taiwanese market but it's a business owned by a Taiwanese American entrepreneur who has a good idea of what would work in the area it's in. Trendy market in a hip part of Mar Vista, the slightly more affordable Silverlake. The prices are average for the area. I like the choice in products that you can't really find in one store. Food quality is so-so. I would not get any of their pizzas again, but their sandwiches are tasty. read more

4.5/5 This concept is one of my dreams. I really want to have a little Thai convenience store of my own, so I really want this place to continue to evolve and do well. I'm giving an extra star for that reason. But I think the grocery/snack selection was a bit underwhelming and the food and drinks were a lot more expensive than I'd expected. It feels more like a cafeteria than a grocery store. Wide open spaces could be nice for chilling if you live close by. I drove all the way from northeast LA to try this place and I don't think I'd do that again. The pizza prices seemed reasonable and I wish I had tried the pizza. I got the pork banh mi "French dip" and my sister got the pork belly bowl. The banh mi was way smaller than I thought it'd be for the price. But dipping sauce was so good. I think I took like four or five bites total. The service was just counter service, so nothing to report on really. read more

Came here on a Wednesday night and it's was very pleasant . I've been wanting to come here for a while now but haven't had the chance till I started working out in West LA. I'm a pretty indecisive person and was grateful to get some recommendations from the manager Eric. He was very nice and helped me choose some items from the menu to decide. I got the Mapo Tofu Pizza, Pork belly bowl, and was generous enough to let me try their KFC Wings. Mapo tofu pizza was surprisingly really good. The quality and crispness of the dough and crust were just how I like it. I believe it was the perfect thickness as well. Personal opinion was that I wish it maybe had more Mapo tofu sauce on it? I had bites with the sauce and it tasted great! I just wanted more. They served it up nice and hot too, which allowed the cheese on the pizza to shine. I also loved to fried shallots or possibly garlic on it? It was a great texture and taste to the pizza! Pork belly bowl was very flavorful! Rice and meat portion was good and I love that they include yellow daikon and quail eggs. I also payed for a fried egg on top too. The taste was delicious. Personally for me tho there was a few pieces that had an overwhelmingly majority of fat than meat. I just separated it tho and ate what meat was there. It tasted amazing and the meat parts were so tender! Though if you are like me and a bit uncomfortable with extremely large fat pieces, alongside the meat portion,then I would opt for something else on their menu. (It is pork BELLY, so it's inevitable) KFC Wings were great! Taste and flavor was on point. I do think they could work on the wings to be more crispy, or maybe that's just my preference. Wing quality of the meat was delicious and juicy! I would get it again and share it with someone. I love Little Fatty, but I just can't get out to LA on a random night anymore. I love that there's Fatty Mart, where you can get Asian groceries as well as a few of the fatty favorites. They don't have decaf, but they have all your standard coffees. Get one or don't - the Taiwanese Breakfast Roll is the reason you're here. Crispy scallion pancake encases eggs, cheap cheese, and a fabulous Chinese sausage with spicy mayo. The pickled mustard greens make it classically Chinese and evokes cold winter mornings when you wake up to porridge and pickles. The Breakfast Burrito is fun as well with the addition of tater tots for crunch. Their beef birria is solid. If you're too early for lunch, you can grab some of their better offerings from the fridge for later. Their Hainan Chicken, for example, is the only Hainan chicken in LA I'd ever go out of my way to order. The skin is fatty and yellow, and the meat is full of real flavor. Dan Dan Noodles also reheat surprisingly well, and these squiggly noodles are the best. Great little store, much fun to be had whether you're popping by for a pickup or staying for a quick and casual meal. Until I can get to the restaurant, this little mart will do nicely. read more

Ordered to go food and it took more than 30 minutes and we had to go and ask at counter. Our bag of food was just sitting there even though the cashier told us when we ordered that the food would be brought to us. Mainly, The menu has changed again with smaller portions and less to choose from. Used to enjoy eating there but since there is no pizza and Ala carte hainan chicken anymore probably won't be going back. read more
