My room remodel is finished now and although I had a bit of a challenge with feeling fully welcome in the store, the lovely vanity and fixtures especially the cool square shower head are amazing. When the installers showed up they unwrapped the washer and noticed damage. They blamed it on the transit company. That was 3 weeks ago. No follow up; no fix. Buy from Best Buy. Ferguson took over for Meyer Electric and have been good to work with ONCE YOU GET SOMEONE TO HELP YOU. Their sales folks are great and they follow up is good. The phone system however is a bit of a goat rope. You call the number listed for the particular showroom which is fact is a call center. You wait while the call center contacts the showroom of interest. Very frustrating and not good use of anyones time. Understand there is a shortage of help in the santa clara valley but it certainly makes me want to take my business elsewhere. I do very much find the help of the sales people thorough and knowledgeable but the issue mentioned above is not appealing. Ferguson has now taken over this market so please do your best to pay the best people you can what they ask for and you might reduce overall costs significantly with the right folks. thank you read more

Horrible experience so far. Placed order for complete set of kitchen appliances, paid in full. Walked in with a list of part numbers, all selected, they didn't have to do anything. No communication for two weeks, then I found out that they entered my info incorrectly in their system, wrong phone number, wrong Zip code (delivery to an address that doesn't exist) basically their system does not have the most basic checks in place. I had checked all that info on the form to be correct when I paid. Then they let me know that they can't schedule delivery until I pay the difference in tax, due to different zip code... schedule, not delivery. Nobody calls me to rectify the matter, I call back and no one available to take my call from sales, the receptionist sends me to a number of voice mail boxes. This place got recommended by my kitchen designer, I was expecting a much different experience, clearly they do not care about anything. Really bad communication from Dominic and the rest of the sales team, cannot recommend. read more

Very poor staff who are mostly absent in the showroom and dont respond to customer quotes. I unfortunately had to visit this showroom since the Meyer Appliance in Mountain View was closed and being taken over by Ferguson. So I had to visit the San Jose showroom and was assigned a rep, Jose Garcia, after wandering the store aimlessly for close to half an hour. Jose clearly had no interest in making any sales. He asked me to send an email for a quote, which he did not respond to. Had an issue with a Kohler sink that was delivered with cracks from another supplier. I contacted Ferguson's to see if they could find us the same model sink to complete our remodel, which had been delayed for 3 weeks. I spoke to Peyton Schwiebert, Showroom Consultant, Mountain View location, who went out of her way to find us the sink, guaranteed it to be inspected, and delivered to our fabricator in perfect condition. We went to Monark because they were supposedly the best in class in the Bay Area. Trust me when I say that's not the case. You pay a premium for less than premium care. We ordered what they were told to order based on a conversation standing in front of the actual refrigerator. We want this, we said. And they handed us the spec sheet with a product number to use. After waiting a very long lead time (COVID related, not Monark related) for the item, it came without the necessary doors or handles. Mistakes happen. And clearly, my husband missed the "panel ready" part of the description. He swears he talked to the salesperson, Dominic about it. But Dominic says they never did. And so, here's why I am writing the review the way I am. I asked Dominic to apologize for the gap in communication. It's going to cost us at least 4-6 weeks to have an unfinished project when we've already waited a long time to get things. So I said, please apologize to my husband because of this gap. Take responsibility for it. Because it wouldn't have taken much for the salesperson to have checked and asked, "hey how are you getting doors on this fridge that comes without doors and handles"? Seems a good protocol. And when I talked to him, I said, this is a real opportunity to improve the process. He blew me off. And did CYA behavior. So I am writing to you. Incredibly poor communications and customer service. We waited over a year for an extremely expensive stove. The wait was understandable due to all the supply chain problems that nearly all manufacturers are experiencing. The staff member we dealt with was apparently incapable of or just didn't care about communicating the many delays and blown by delivery dates in any kind of timely or professional manner. For the most part is was up to my wife or I to call for info as the numerous and ever changing delivery dates cam and went. The person we dealt with had an annoying habit of chuckling her way through the excuses and explanations, which seemed disrespectful in the face of so little follow through throughout....this continued right up though delivery which she mis-scheduled as well. We will certainly never consider this dealer again. Love the stove and can heartily recommend the Thermador brand, just be sure to buy it from someone other than this company! read more

I wish I could give them less than 1 star. We ordered 5 SubZero appliances from Monark. They were ok (3 stars) until they took our money and then the customer service was HORRIBLE. July 10th, 2019 - Worked with Matt Mortensen and placed an order with Monark for a new refrigerator, freezer, ovens and wine frig. Aug 21 - My contractor installed the appliances and told me the refrigerator panel was dented. I informed Monark that same day and they ordered a new one. Oct 11th - New panel was delivered, but not installed. I asked delivery people to open box and check panel, but they didn't. Oct 16th - My contractor came to install replacement panel. It also had a dent in a similar location. Oct 17th - Sent Rose & Matt the an email explaining the dent in the new panel. NO RESPONSE FROM MONARK. Oct 21st - Called and asked to speak to the manager. Spoke with Lisa. She said she would look into it and followup, but I have not heard back from her after more than 2 weeks. It's almost 4 months since we placed our order and I am still dealing with Monark. Look elsewhere for your appliances. read more

I asked Monark for the absolutely most reliable Washer and Dryer they offer and they sold me the "High-End" ASKO T411VDW Dryer and the ASKO W4114CW dryer. They have been a nightmare, and now I am out of warranty and paying bills like $1,000 for a control board - absolutely unaccaptable. Even when it is working, the interfacing is absurd. The buttons HAVE NO LABELS!!! I guess the designers thought that "text" would be unsightly??? Worst appliance purchase I ever made. The next time they fail (won't be a long wait), I will replace them with a standard brand. My advice to you - DON'T BUY ASKO, and look critically at anyone who sells them. read more

Terrible customer service. I've been waiting for my washer and dryer for months now and when they finally arrived, there were missing parts. Miscommunication issues between sales (Sandra) and designer. At the end, after all the wait and having to reschedule for installation twice, they simply ignored my customer's rights saying that "they cannot accommodate my appt sooner than a week from today but they will give me a slot if there's a cancellation". I'm sorry if I am wrong on this but, from a customer's point of view who have already paid in full for the appliances a few months ago, this is disrespectful. Do not recommend Monark. read more

Great showroom, great selection of products, helpful sales team and the prices are very reasonable for all, not just the high end appliances. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. The store keeps "bankers" hours. Meaning they are not open Sundays, or after 5 pm - that may make it inconvenient if you, like the majority of other folks work during the limited hours they are open. I'd encourage the reader to look at the reviews left for the other Monark Stores in the area - both the good and the bad, paying particular attention to the more recent reviews. Unfortunately we placed our order just days before Sears filed for bankruptcy. Monark as of right now is a holding of Sears. Based on other reviews, you might find Monark to be just fine if you are ordering a single appliance or two, but beware if you have a major remodel or a large order. One month out when I called to check on the status of our order, I was told "nothing has been ordered", and there was confusion as they kept claiming that two of the items were "not on the order" (It was written as two orders). Sure enough, one appliance had not been added to the order, but the killer was the one item with the longest lead time that was paid 100% fully in advance was apparently was NOT ordered until 2 months after we paid... way, way late in the cycle. What that means for us, is we can't get an occupancy permit for another 2 months! When the week approached for our planned installs, they said "we don't have X and Y", please pay the balance (the remaining 50% of the primary order) and we can schedule your install.... I balked: "wait, you're late, botched an order causing an 8 WEEK hit to our schedule, we paid you tens of thousands of dollars 3 months ago and you expect us to pay the rest in ADVANCE even though so far you've not delivered anything at all?" Yes, apparently. It's their policy. There were failures on the part of Monark to forward the order in a timely fashion, and to keep us, their customer informed. We didn't learn about the 8 week hit to the schedule until the WEEK after we expected all the appliances to have been delivered. So if you don't mind paying large sums of money without assurance of receiving what you paid for in a timely fashion, Monark is for you. When we refused to pay any more in advance they elected to cancel the order. I think that cancellation was about the only thing that happened promptly... but we'll see how long it takes them to refund our money. NOTE: It looks like the full refund is happening quickly and professionally. I've upgraded my review by a star. In summary, if you do go to Monark, show them this review and tell them up front that you will pay half in advance and the remainder upon install of the order - and not before. My guess is that they will decline to do business with you, and you will know what they value. Finally, I suggest if you do place orders with Monark that you interact with them frequently via email so there is a clear "paper trail". Ask for proof that your order has been placed. Ask well ahead of any timeframes to be able to untangle inevitable hiccups. Also understand that you will need to interact with a litany of people at Monark to get the complete picture as they are highly compartmentalized and the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is (or is not) doing. read more

This year we did our kitchen remodel for our house. My wife has been wanting to remodel it for a long time and finally we decided to move forward with it. We went to Monark Premium Appliance to check out the appliances. We were able to find everything we liked and needed there. The ordering process was easy and smooth. We were informed about the delivery date for the appliances and they were delivered on time. Because of the large size of the built-in fridge, we had to get Monark's help to move it in and install. There aren't enough stars to give Monark, especially Gabriel, one of the sales consultants. My project hit a snag when I realized the downdraft was wrong. So I found the correct downdraft amazingly in stock in Ventura CA, but no one had a blower. Gabriel was able to put one on order for me through Wolf, but somehow his supplier was delayed or otherwise stopped communicating. So, on his own, he called his other colleagues in the appliance business and found the blower in Livermore- then *drove there* with gas being $6, picked it up for me, and dropped it off at my house as my car was unavailable. He canceled the purchase through Monark and facilitated the purchase from the other store. Put my project back on track! read more

However, our sales rep never managed to get back to us to let us know how to place the order. We subsequently reached out to their competitor in Redwood City. They provided a better quote and ETA within just hours and placing the order was a breeze. Installation in just 2 weeks was scheduled minutes after placing the order. read more

I have working with Monark appliances since 2009 . This year we have had the worst service I have ever had from a company. We started when it was Standard of Excellence. On an average we would order order appliances once a year. This year , grant you ,we had the Pandemic. However, they insisted in getting paid for the appliances way in advance. I paid them in March, we still waiting for our dishwasher. Every week is an excuse. The customer service is horrible, rude and short. we were suppose to be moving to our new house on 6/20. The staff is very knowledgeable and seems to just know exactly what one wants based on a few questions about wishes and budget. This is not a premium appliance store, the company is very messed up. There is no communication between sales, inspection and delivery. I should have a refrigerator delivered today. However, the delivery guy came and ask me to reschedule, because he needed extra person. Whenever I try to call my sales coordinator, she is not able to answer the phone. We did site inspection and this mess up should not happen. I decided to buy from Monark because the sales person I met is very friendly and knowledgeable, however I made wrong decision. To sum it up, Monark has some beautiful appliances but the customer service demonstrated by this branch left much to be desired. Our office purchased over 30k worth of appliances from Monark through Sandra/Lisa because Sandra was personally referred by one of the contractors we were working with. The sales process was fine--they were super responsive when it came to accepting our payment (of which we had to pay everything, including installation, in full). However, the good news pretty much stopped there. During the 3 1/2 months between purchasing the appliances and installing them at our office, Lisa's Sales Coordinator (coordinates delivery/installation from a remote office in AZ) changed 3 times and not once did Lisa or the Sales Coordinator ever reach out to me to inform me of the change in responsibility leaving me to do the investigative work to figure out why my calls/emails were no longer being returned. In addition, once we had finally nailed down the delivery date, I made sure to check up with the SC several times to ensure that the installation would occur without a hitch. Not once did he or Lisa/Sandra ever indicate anything was amiss about our order. Then, once delivery day arrived, we suddenly got the unexpected news from our installers that 4 out of the 8 items we ordered were missing. When I called Sandra to ask her if she could look into it for me she seemed really unwilling to look into it herself (despite the fact that she's listed as the actual Salesperson for this order) and instead handed it off to Lisa respond to us. When I reached out to Lisa, the only information she provided was that 3 appliances were on backorder with no ETA and they were sorry that they had never communicated anything about it to us. This still left 1 appliance completely unaccounted for. Ultimately we had to escalate our complaint to the store manager in San Francisco (because their store manager was out) who was finally able to at least locate one of our appliances for us and cancel the remaining 3. From one business to another, we hope that this Monark branch will take this as a learning experience and improve their capacity for quality customer service. read more

We purchased an entire kitchen of SKS products and looks great but on the day of installation, the installation team noticed that the counter depth frig that I paid 10K for was bulging in the center.. SKS was notified about it nearly a year ago. There have been many follow up attempts made by Monark Appliances in my behalf and they were all ignored by SKS. I personally made 3 or 4 calls to the concierge service where they sounded interested but nothing ever materialized! ONly words of concern but never a peep regarding the factory defect. I thought it was just an adjustment that had to be made with the doors but a second visit from Monark Appliances again confirmed that I had a factory defect. SKS did not live up to their warranty claims.. Many Many emails were never acknowledged .. High turnover is sales representatives caused us to start the entire claims process from the beginning. I went to Monark for the first time Friday afternoon a little after two. When I walked in the door three employees were standing around the desk talking and one was looking at the newspaper another was in the back looking at a computer. I was looking to replace my double wall ovens. I wondered about the store for 10 or so minutes with no offer of help. Finally I started to walk toward the group and one on the sales people came towards me, felt like she lost the coin toss. I asked her about the Wolf and the Viking and her first statement was to make sure I was aware how expensive they are. I enjoyed the store their selection is beautiful but after feeling judged I choose to take the information she gave my and planned to call another store. Saturday my husband and I needed to go to Best Buy and went upstairs to find they sell Viking also. They had the one I was looking at and it was 800.00 less. Monark was not going to deliver to us for 3+ weeks they charge 175.00 for delivery and install. Best Buy will have the oven to us Tuesday and will only charge $20.00 to remove the old oven. Looking forward to Thanksgiving with my new oven and glad that the guy at Best Buy who was very polite and knowledgeable gets the commission and we got a better deal... read more

One of the worst customer experiences I have had. Poor communication. Missed deliveries. Incomplete deliveries. Misinformation. The list goes on. The sales process was fine, but once we purchased and placed our downpayment, the follow-through was terrible. I understand that they have a lot of demand. That's fine. I asked for a plan to install appliances that would work for them. They gave me one. Then missed the dates. Then realized they missed some parts on the invoice and raised the price. Then delivered a refrigerator without a door, which we didn't know until the installation date. We were told one thing about our old appliances, then that turned out to be untrue. We just completed a major remodel of our kitchen and one of the central features was a new range and hood. We wanted to match our existing GE Profile refrigerator and so worked with Dave Ridings on the project. He was so knowledgeable, responsive, pleasant, helpful, and on top of things. He helped us choose a GE Profile 30" slide-in gas range and 36" hood. His coworker, Sherri Jones, was equally a pleasure to work with in coordinating the delivery & installation. They were both very patient and accommodating in working with us as we had to change delivery dates a number of times. We also had to have the original hood replaced due to a manufacturing issue with the first one but Dave, Sherri, and another one of their coworkers, Karen Hayes, were so helpful and great about arranging for a replacement that worked out fine. And this was even in spite of all the COVID related delays and shortages in manufacturing and distribution. After a month of begging Lisa Jackson, the sales rep, to help ME and follow up on my order of an LG refrigerator, I went to the store today and canceled my order. You make the decision: 1. The initial sales interaction with Ms. Jackson was fine; and appropriate. She was not helpful but she took my order. I had done the research myself. 2. After that, unless I contacted her by email or phone, she did not attend to my order. And, she did not return my calls OR emails; once there was a problem. 3. Admittedly today, she told me there was no communication or consistency between the store and the other principles, i.e. delivery, etc. They why not call me and update me on that????? 4. I was supposed to get a phone call last Wednesday to give me a time-frame at which the refrigerator would be delivered. NO call. 5. I contacted Lisa Jackson: no response 6. I contacted the delivery company contact number she gave me. The man, Efren, told me I was supposed to have the fridge "yesterday" to which I responded, "No, I was not home and never scheduled it for yesterday." He then said, "Oh yeah, it came to the warehouse and it was damaged." I asked why no one called me and he said he did not know. 7. In all that, I also emailed the Delivery company supervisor who made the scheduling with me. He did not know why I was not contacted either. As I told the manager today, Ken Simmons, and Lisa Jackson, had 'best practices' been practiced: meaning Jackson having the courtesy to call or email me updates, I would not be as upset as I am about losing work time and having scheduling issues. My experience with Lowe's and Western Appliance in the past was so-so but much, much better than this experience. read more
