[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great drinks and quiet/intimate vibes at the bar when I visited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Wished the brunch and happy hour menu was more versatile, however the choice or 3 crosanti was a great option for a light bite.

Our waitress was super sweet and very accommodating. She recommended a spritz to my sister that she absolutely loved. I have been wanting to try Fig & Olive for a while now and let me tell you it did not disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was giving, love the modern, simple esthetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The crostini, choose 3, was delish! My sister and I both ordered the steak and eggs, I got my eggs over easy and she scrambled. The chimichurri sauce was so good. The plate was well balanced with the salad. It didn't leave you feeling stuffed but satisfied. I needed my meal with an espresso martini. I will definitely be back! Perfect for a brunch, GNO, or date night.

We had a girls day at the mall and wanted to stop for a nice brunch. I've gone to the Fig and Olive in D.C. so decided this would be a good option for us especially since I've never had their brunch menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is very clean, cute and the ambiance gave us the vibe we wanted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress was very nice and gave us some great recs. We started with the crostinis which were really good. We did two of the manchego ones and one with the burrata. I chose the steak and eggs for my meal which was cooked well and very flavorful. Overall, Fig & Olive just doesn't miss. This is a great option for a girls day out at the mall!

Fig and olive was absolutely great. Met up for a pre Christmas dinner with my friend and enjoyed every single bit of food we ate! Service felt like we were the only ones there and being catered to uniquely. Our server had the absolutely best suggestions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was classy and delicately decorated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Did I mention the food was fabulous. I can no longer eat beef but the lamb sirloin dish truly replaced my want for steak!! The mussels and fries were good, and their cocktails perfectly strong. I've been raving about Fig to my friends in hopes to return soon.

I was taken aback by the cold caramelized onions on the Crostini...and not in a pleasant way. The flavor profile just didn't do it for me. There was a bitterness that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Likewise, the prosciutto option left something to be desired. The Burrata, however, was quite nice. I would love to report that our experience improved as the brunch wore on, but alas... The prefixed Mother's Day menu stipulated that everyone at the table had to order from the menu, and even though several of the items are regularly served, they were off limits even to mothers who didn't wish to order a copious amount of food. I guess the idea of making sure your guests are happy no longer really plays a part in "service". Since we couldn't order what we wanted, we opted for the Benedict and the F&M burger. My mom felt the spinach interfered with her perfectly poached egg and crabcake. She longing stared off into the distance thinking about the far superior crabcake out at Brookwood. The burger looks amazing but just couldn't compete with other burgers around town. I can't say that the food would entice us to return. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nor would the incessant blinking light above our table. The ambiance would have otherwise been enjoyable had it not been for the light.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Since I was staying in the Houston Galleria area, we decided to look for a place that was walking distance from the hotel. A little searching brought us to Fig and Olive Tasting Kitchen and Bar. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, perfect lighting and well appointed decor. We had arrived without a reservation, but still were able to get a nice table outside. All the food choices were enticing. The best bet was the Dinner Prix Fixe Menu, which was reasonably priced at $48 per person for a 3-course meal. Since our party was comprised of seven people, we were able to taste all the selections on the menu. Appetizers were: Baby Arugula Salad, Tuna Meatballs and Wild Mushroom Croquettes. Entrees were: Moroccan-Spiced Salmon, Paccheri, Roasted Brick Chicken and Peppercorn-Crusted Strip Steak. Dessert choices were: Flourless Chocolate Espelette Cake and Lemon and Olive Oil Cake. All the dishes were superbly prepared and exuded with texture, flavor and taste, Service was exceptional.

If I could give this restaurant 3.5 stars, I would. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is perfect, gorgeous inside and perfect for a date night, but not too loud so it's not overbearing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food and service were great too, don't get me wrong. But all of the dishes felt so rich with no acidity to cut through them. This felt like the case with everything that we ordered.

I hesitate to give 5 stars for anyone, because nobody is perfect. However this was a solid 4.8 experience. The ambiance is modern classy upscale. The staff was friendly, informative, and so attentive, my glass was always full, food was hot and quickly served, and used plates were whisked away immediately. We did the brunch menu. Steak and eggs were fantastic, with gorgeous presentation, and the Chimichurri sauce was maybe the best I have had. My drink was their version of an old fashioned, with fresh rosemary as an unexpected twist. We finished up with lemon pound cake and cappuccino. Overall a great experience, and I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Fig & Olive was an incredible dining experience that I was not expecting to find inside the Galleria mall. The service is top-notch; the team that took care of us were always present refilling water glasses, clearing plates, and getting additional cocktails. The menu is also stellar with great items made in special ways. For their autumn menu, I had the Smoke & Spice cocktail and could have that for the rest of my life. The combination of smoke and spice was perfection and was easily a standout of the day. However, the burrata appetizer with apples and beets was also stunning. You can tell the team takes pride in their preparation and ensuring quality ingredients. Lastly, my salmon main course was also lovely. The huge piece of fish was cooked very well, had tons of flavor and made me excited for the overall meal. Sadly, we were too full to try dessert, but next time I will make that happen.

Oh I love a good first impression and Fig & Olive did not disappoint. Following the surprise that the restaurant is attached to the Galleria, we were offered complimentary champagne, and amazing service upon entry while waiting for our table. As a party of 8, we were seated in semiprivate room facing the Galleria (not ideal but you can tell they're making an effort to conceal this) with a virtual fireplace gyrating on the television. Our waitress was attentive and kind. The bathrooms were clean, and luxurious. But as we waited for the remainder of our party, the illusion began to fade. First, somehow, somewhere in the restaurant was a constant beeping. This was not a "I didn't change the smoke alarm" beeping, or "food is ready in the kitchen" beeping but some unidentified, every 10 minutes or so , immediately takes you out of the fantasy of a luxury dining experience beeping. Secondly, the restaurant was near empty during brunch hours...odd for sure, but no sweat, maybe it's a hidden gem. Third, the offerings. We ordered the mimosa carafe with pomegranate, orange pineapple juice and apple cider. The idea is fantastic. We were not recommended two orders. For eight folks it included one very VERY "affordable" bottle of champagne. My cucumber cocktail was premixed (not ideal), but strong (ideal). Although it's understandable that the brunch menu is designed to honor the South of France, the portions per the price were surprising, in the worst way, even for the gaunt eaters of the group. *the Mediterranean dips sharing appetizer (on the for the table menu) is likely designed to be shared between 2. No more than 3. It would be appreciated if this could be communicated to parties when they inquire about shareable appetizers. My assumption that a menu titled "For the table" would comfortable feed more than two, but I suppose I should have asked. *the Yellow fish Tuna Carpaccio ($24)- whoop whoop, an appetizer that can be shared between more than 2 folks. Under salted, but otherwise delicious, flavorful, and texturally. *Lemon ricotta pancakes- arrived too thick and overworked. 4 members of the party ordered the dish. 2/4 thought their entree was undercooked, turns out they were stuffed with lemon ricotta. Additionally, if you plan to order, know that this is not a sweet entree, and likely not designed to fill. We did not find out until our dishes arrived, and we inquired about the size and seemingly raw center. While I love the tapaesque concept, we just wish the portion sizes and important notes of each dish ("would you like to order another, you mentioned this us for sharing, it's designed to feed x people" or "that dish is popular, it's a small portion, most people order it with or "just so you know this pancake is filled, it may look raw in the center, but I'm actually it's cooked to temp and what you see is the filling", we're communicated as it's not evident from the menu or the pricing. As a cherry on top, two waiters who were not assigned to our section used our section as an escape room to text while avoiding the eyes of management...they literally behaved as if we were not sitting there dining. This is the first time in a long time, I've felt in more ways than one like an invisible diner. Unfortunately at this pricepoint, the bulk of our experience was underwhelming, but I wish them the best, and hope this was a one off. Everyone is entitled to an off day now and again.

Located inside the Houston Museum of Fine Arts (MFAH), the space feels artistic, chic, and classy - every detail felt intentional, from the decor to the lighting, creating a genuinely elegant atmosphere without feeling stuffy. We started with the complimentary bread service, which set the tone nicely. For the HRW summer dinner menu, portions were a touch smaller than what I'd expect from their regular dinner offerings, but everything was so rich and satisfying that we left completely full. Standouts included the Atlantic salmon, the zucchini veloute, and the chocolate cremeux for dessert - each beautifully executed and packed with flavor. Service matched the quality of the food. For parking, they validate tickets from the museum garage, which is a convenient and budget-friendly option--though paid valet is also available if you prefer that route. Highly recommend Le Jardinier for a special date night or any occasion worth celebrating with excellent French cuisine.

Extremely disappointing experience with the reservation process…read more We made a reservation through Resy on July 25, 2026, for August 15 2026, more than three weeks before my planned arrival in Houston. I will be visiting Houston for only two days and specifically planned this trip around experiencing Houston Restaurant Weeks. Today, we received an email informing me that I would have needed a separate reservation specifically for the Restaurant Week menu. Unfortunately, by the time I found this out, those reservations were already sold out. We also reached out directly to the restaurant and spoke with Catherine Park from the Hostess Team. We were told there was nothing she could do, and I requested that she escalate this issue to management, as this situation is extremely frustrating and disappointing. The biggest issue is that this requirement was not clearly communicated on the Resy reservation page when I made my reservation. There was no clear indication that a separate Restaurant Week reservation was required, nor was there an option presented during the booking process. I have participated in Restaurant Week events in many cities across the United States, and I have never encountered a system where guests must make a completely separate reservation just to access the Restaurant Week menu. Typically, guests make a reservation and can decide between available menus when they arrive. Since Restaurant Week was the reason I chose this restaurant, this has been extremely disappointing. I will now be looking for a different restaurant for my Houston visit.

Had the charity chef menu. Every dish was exquisite. No complaints or adjustments. Coming from me that's a huge feat :) They even allowed me to switch to the poele instead of the torchon. So grateful and was plenty filling the 4 courses. The redfish de jour was fantastic. The filet de beof was tenderly delicious with all the comfort sides. The pastilla chocolat was decadent bliss. Almost like a melted brownie inside a crisp thin pastry with the right accent of sorbet and lychee. The service was accommodating and prompt. Arriving around lunchtime on a weekday, I had the place to myself which allowed me a unique opportunity to take the place in. That being said, this spot is not overly French cafe themed, but instead a classic suburban strip mall spot with nods to the French peppered throughout the menu and decor. The booth area is well-designed, the spot was clean and the table touched by light so after a great experience chatting with the cashier I was crossing my fingers, hoping the food matched the vibe. I had a crepe Mexicana (because who has ever heard of that?!), a croque monsieur with tomato soup, and a dessert crepe because y'all know I always save room for dessert. It took a minute to be prepared, but I'm willing to wait for a fresh made meal. Everything, was delicious. Crepe texture was on point, and each crepe was stuffed to the Gods. Such a lovely restaurant, with two slightly different vibes depending on the day. Sundays are more lively with a live band, while Saturdays are a bit more relaxed--but still busy. I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time. My only small note from my most recent visit was that it felt a little warm inside. I get it, it's Texas and it was a hot day, but I wouldn't have minded the AC being turned up a bit more . Now for the good stuff, food! I've tried a variety of items and have yet to be disappointed. Some standouts: French Toast (5/5): One of the best I've had. Thick slices, no eggy taste, and the crème anglaise with fresh berries are the perfect adds. Lobster Tacos (5/5): More like a lobster salad packed into crispy mini taco shells, the perfect little bites. Shrimp Tempura & Caviar 4/5: Tried this most recently and loved it. The batter had the perfect crunch. I also recommend the Rosé all day punch (not on the menu, but ask your server - it's a frozen berry ball with sparkling champagne and rosé) breakfast potatoes and sausage, salmon entrée, and even the french fries. The service has always been great. On my most recent visit, our server was especially awesome. They were very attentive, polite, and gave great recommendations (especially for mocktails). There are several options for parking including valet, street parking, and a garage. Valet runs around $6-$10, street parking is metered (I paid about $6 for two hours), and the garage was free and really easy the last time I went.
