Ordered from this place as part of a work lunch ordered. I never tried it before but all of my coworkers were raving about it so I tried it. I ordered a meat sandwich with everything included, plus a drink. The food came and the size from the outside was decent. I opened the sandwich and it was all mushy and the bread was moist which was so gross. None the less I was starving so I tried it anyway. The taste was not great at all. We have nephews who love fire trucks so he assured we can grab as many hats if we like for them on our first visit and when we come, he always remembers our faces, what we order and just now he literally asked if we wanted the basketball game volume up(awesome!!!!) Not a crazy fan, but for what it is, quite solid. For a sandwich chain, I'd say it is a notch above Subway. Almost same bread (not a bad thing), but the meats are a level above, but not by much. NY Steamer sounded good on paper. Pastrami, Corned Beef, Provolone and deli mustard all melted together on choice of bread. Huge sandwich, even for a medium, so value is there. Next time I'm splitting the medium with someone, so we don't feel so bogged down after the lunch hour. Everything was nice and fresh, but the meats were just the over processed, nitrate laden versions. So everything just tasted like "ham". But this is more common than not, so there's that. Recently tried the Meatball Sub and that was surprisingly good. The meatballs were mild and tender and had appropriate flavor. The marinara was basic yet proper, especially with all that melted provolone. If you like meatloaf sandwiches and you like pizza, then this will fit the bill, because this is exactly what it taste like. I'm coming here exclusively for this, believe you me! Having always tried Subway and Togos I thought why not this place. I have soft spot for anything firefighters. So we ordered this time to go but the place looks comfirtable and organized and did I mention that they have every type hot sauce there is!! Loved that. I tried the hero firehousw sub super hearty and creamy and lots a meat. I also ordered and italian version with salami and sliced meats. They were both really hearty and filling. We had been wanting to try out Firehouse subs for a while. Food doesn't disappoint - we had the Jamaican Jerk Turkey and Spicy Cajun Chicken. Really enjoyed both the subs - the sauces in were really good, leaving the sub dripping !! Will be back to try out the rest of the menu. My wife and I had lunch here yesterday. Although the ambiance is great, I have to give 3 stars because I left hungry (after killing some time, we ate somewhere else in the immediate area). I had wanted to eat here for months. My friend August goes here regularly (he gave this place 5 stars in 2014), and I was also intrigued by a commercial for the chain. The menu inside could be better. Only the take home menu indicates that you can make your own sub. In addition, the full description of the sub that I ordered is only provided in the take home menu. To quote August, "They have a foundation where they donate back to the local community, and if you sign up for their email newsletter, you get a free medium sub on your birthday!" I was happy to put all the change I had in the donation box at the register. Our cashier was friendly, but a little dense. She briefly stared at us a few times when calling out names (it should have been obvious early on that we didn't order any food to go). If you eat inside, you'll be given a number, and your food will probably be brought to you within 5 minutes. The 7 employees were all young women (one of them was so small and short that I wondered if any child labor laws were being broken). They worked hard and as a team. Some of them also welcomed customers when they entered. In general, the employees were so short that I expected to hear Oompa-Loompa songs playing in the background. This limits how much space there is by the counter. It's also not easy to move around when it's a little busy here. I was constantly waiting to use the Freestyle machines (I wanted to sit right next to them, but the people ahead of us in line prevented that). I also had to be careful of people in line and even the cashier (I basically had to plan my trips to and from my table). I'm not docking for this, but the 2 TV's inside were initially on the Dodgers-Nationals game that didn't happen (it got postponed). After some time, they were turned to an NBA preseason game (I was surprised because a bunch of college football games were on). There are many bottles of hot sauce on the left side of the counter. You can also find bottles of barbecue sauce (sadly, I noticed them too late). The catering menu is solid. Medium drinks are 32oz. Nice. The combo prices have gone up markedly since 2014. Great sandwiches. Superb services. All the workers look like firefighters. I cannot believe how this place can be packed easily during around lunch time. A little pricy on the side, about 1.5x more expensive than Subway with a combo. They do make their sandwiches a little different, the bread with cheese on top goes through under the toaster belt, then have the meat steamed into one of those cool machines they have. Pretty interesting sight (see photo of firefighter sandwich makers!). I got the large combo of smokehouse beef and cheddar. You get to choose either white or wheat bread. Man, it's really delicious and filling! The combo comes with a fountain drink and either a choice of chips or cookies. Great value. Firehouse Subs is just full of awesomeness! I love everything from the themed décor, superb service, and their delicious sub sandwiches. I was in the Fremont area running errands and was looking for a quick place to eat. Thanks again to my handy yelp app, I found Firehouse Subs. I am now in love with this place. The manager greeted my BF and I immediately as soon as we walked through the door. He was friendly and kind enough to go over the menu with us. This Fremont location just opened a few weeks ago at the Pacific Commons Plaza next to In - N - Out. The original Firehouse Subs opened in Florida 2005 by former firefighters and their mission is to fund and support their local firefighters. The restaurant has a firefighter theme that includes fire equipment and a menu that features sandwiches with themed names. And their Dalmatian table was adorbs! You must try their specialty sub Firehouse Meatball. The BEST meatball sandwich I've ever had. Italian meatballs, zesty marinara, and Italian seasonings = MIND BLOWING! Amazing flavors overall! I live in the San Jose area, so the Fremont location is quite a drive for me. As we were leaving the store, the manager mentioned that several locations will be opening in San Jose this year. It's awesome that Fremont was chosen as Firehouse Subs first Northern California location! If you like subs, then these are some of the best that you can find at any chain. There is a large selection of subs to choose from, as well as several different salads and sides. I ordered a medium corned beef on a white sub roll, and made it a combo with chips and a drink ($10.12), while the polite staff explained the toppings and condiment selection. A few minutes later, someone calls out your name and delivers it to your table. All of the ingredients were delicious. It also came with a pickle slice on the side. There are two freestyle machines where you can create more than 100 different combinations of Coca Cola brand drinks. The place is large, clean and nicely decorated, with the feel of being in a firehouse. Comfortable chairs and tables inside and out. Okay just tried this place for the first time and it was BOMB. Had the hot pastrami and it had plenty of meat to satisfy as well as the only kind of mustard (deli) I'll eat and all the toppings. The bread was fresh, the pickle was yummy and crisp, and even the chips were good even though they were Miss Vickies. When my boyfriend and I crave subs, we always get Firehouse. The quality of the meat is delicious and always served hot. The bread is fluffy, and all their subs are customizable. My favorite is the Italian. Sometimes I substitute the ham with turkey. My boyfriend usually gets the NY steamer. This place is a must go if you like trying different hot sauces. Firehouse Subs in Fremont. Have been to this place few times now and every single time I had the best experience. Their sandwich is the only one which reminds me of a sandwich that I love back in India. Food: 5/5 I ordered the Veggie sub without mushrooms, I have to say that they really nailed it in terms of taste, the proportion of each ingredient was perfect. The size of their sandwich was also the right size and plus the variety of spicy sauce they have is amazing. I would consider myself a tough crowd when it comes to subs and sandwiches. In high school I prided myself at being an excellent sandwich maker at Togo's. (3 years strong.) At first I was a little overwhelmed by the menu but took a deep breath and remembered it's just sandwiches. You can add anything to any base sandwich they have featured and customize it, just like you would at any other deli. I forget the exact size of the medium and large subs but I know they are significantly larger than what you would get at Togo's. I ordered the "Hero" which I think was roast beef and turkey with provolone. Pretty good. The sandwich was warm all the way through and the bread was nice and soft. I'm not sure if the sub was actually toasted, but I liked it way better than a subway or Quizno's sub where the bread gets way too hard on the ends when they toast it. The meat/spread/toppings ratio was perfect and I got a taste of everything in each bite. Everyone I go to a new sandwich place, I get their turkey with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, and a side of pepperoncinis. Lol I was disappointed to find out they didn't serve avocado (or guacamole). Besides that, the sandwich came out toasty and their turkey was delish. Reminded me of the shredded turkey just like which wich (I thoroughly enjoy). Whoa, I am liking the whole Firehouse theme. This sandwich shop is clean and has plenty of seating. They've got two large TV's for patrons to stay and eat. They offer small, medium, large sandwiches. Their meatball sandwich came out really hot and was delicious. S/O got a large hook and ladder and finished the majority of it. It's a bit more expensive than Togos and Subway but I would compare Firehouse to those two. Quality is so much better and everything is just x10 tastier. Beware of ordering online or please check that you have received the right order. My order was made on time, no complaints about that. I came home to two completely wrong subs. I ordered the large philly sub , and wrote in no caps NO CHEESE. Unfortunately, they clearly ignore whatever you customize your order to be. My other sub was completely wrong as well, they forgot half of the toppings. What's frustrating is I contacted customer service twice and I contacted my credit card company, nothing was done.
