Stopped by to get an oil change and tire rotation. I was told that I need all sorts of repairs on my truck. I just had it serviced elsewhere 3 months ago and everything was in good working order. I got the oil change and rotation and was out of here quickly. My instincts tell me they were trying to get me to spend some unnecessary money for things that are in good working condition. Overall the place was clean and the people were friendly, they had free food from canes, coffee and donuts set out for those who wanted. My issue and the reason I decided to write a review was just to give a word of advice. I'm an experienced aircraft mechanic and one of the first things I learned was "undersell and overachieve." On time estimates. We received an initial time estimate of 1.5 hours then got a call that our car would be ready in 30 minutes. We were using the freezer of a nearby cafe to keep $60 of frozen food we purchased frozen so we waited about 25 minutes then walked there with our food. We sat for at least an additional hour past the time we received the call (we checked this against our cell phone) before I got up to ask and it took another 20 minutes past that for the car to be ready. From one maintenance field to another, wait till you're wiping up with a rag before you call. People depend on accurate time estimates. read more

Dishonest and WASTES your time. Scheduled an appointment for tire change, explained to the employee that I would be there during lunch break and could only stay 1 1/2 hours max. Get there at my appointment time - 40 minutes later my car is still not in the shop. Check in with employee and he informs me that my car won't be pulled in for another HOUR, nearly TWO HOURS after my appointment time. Took my keys back and left. read more

Hands down the most dedicated team I ever encountered. Honest and hard working is an understatement for these guys. I had a flat with my diesel truck tire and these guys worked into the late hours trying to repair it. In the end they could not do the job because they were under equipped. ( note to management ...... Give these guys the tools they need !!!!! ) Orlando recommended me to Purcell to finish the job. I took it to Hector who completed the job and did not charge me because he felt empathy towards what we had gone through to get our tire fixed. I failed a smog and my registration was expired! The part that made it fail was a camshaft, but they did a diagnostic to see what was the real problem. Turns out it was a part that connected to the camshaft and it needed to be cleaned. They were really helpful and made sure I knew what they were doing before they did it. read more

Dishonest and deceiptful! I came in for a complete inspection for my 2011 Toyota Camry (only, $10, not a bad price), and they pointed out that my front struts were leaking and advised me to replace them as soon as possible. They quoted me anywhere from $700-$900 depending on which package I picked to have the work done. I thought it was strange that I was already having this kind of issue since my car only has 51xxx miles on it, and I just bought it last year. I thought ok, no problem, I have an extended warranty, let's have a Toyota do the work since Allstate was paying for it. The service director told me there were no leaks of any kind and even had me get on the ground to see that in fact, there were no problems whatsoever with my struts. It is absolutely disgusting that Fire Stone would try to go on a fishing expedition when people trust their judgement. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. Do not go here! read more

On June 13, 2016, I decided that I needed to have my oil changed. On my way, my engine light came on. I was only 3 blocks fron where I was going.. I arrived at Firestone and went in. I wwas attended by a boy and was told it would be a 2 hour wait. I was in no hurry, so went next ddoor to Ihop and had lunch. When I returned an hour later my car hadn't been touched but aas soon as I walked in, they took my car in. After 30 min. they came to me and told me that the car idled rough when they started it and rough when they drover it into the stall, it was rough. (My car has NEVER idled rough) They came out and said: 1. All my belts were cracked and needed to be replaced; 2. Oil leak; 3. Battery was low; 4. my sensors were ggoing out that is why the "check Engine light" was on; 5. Coolant was low and dirty and needed to be flushed and replaced and for $ 552.64 they would fix it. I toldl them only the oil cchange and I would take it to my mechanic. Well guess what, my mechanic had all the receipts and my hoses and belts were all replaced in January (this is June) and I had remembered I gassed up my car that day, so I checked my gas cap and it was lose so I tightened it and my "check engine light" went out, My mechanic showed me the belts, and the original stickers were still on the belts and the batter was not low, he put a tester on it and it tested "high" and I knew I didn't have an oil leak because there was never any oil on my driveway. As for idling rough, my car has nevetr idled rough - not now, not ever. these are very greedy, dishonest, bottom feeding low life people and I will never ever return to this place. Good, quick, honest, reasonably priced auto service. Most recently I had my oil changed here. It was $22.99, and I was in and out in under half an hour. Good stuff. They're friendly enough, and there's free coffee and bottled water while you wait. It's also directly next to The Boulevard, so you can go do a little shoppy shoppy to pass the time if you feel so inclined. I say go for it. Oil changes are important. read more

I brought my car in to get the bulb in the headlight replaced. The head light case showed signs of moisture in it. They said they could fix it reseal the headlight. They charged us just under $1000.00 to repair the headlight. We drove the car for 6 days and noticed the headlight was out again. They then told me they never re sealed the light after the first fix. They changed the ballast and bulb again. This time they assured me that they re sealed light. When I picked up the car I noticed there was still a lot of moisture showing on the inside of the light ( why would they seal up a light with moisture in it?? Where did they think the moisture would go?). Within 20 minutes of leaving the shop the light had burnt out again. Also, my stabilitrak and traction control lights started coming and staying on the minute I drove it off the lot. Upon further investigation they had dislodged wires and connectors when removing the plastic wheel well. I WOULD NEVER TRUST THEM TO WORK ON MY CAR AGAIN. The original fix was way over priced. It cost me $1000.00 and now I have more things wrong. Either their mechanics are incompetent or it's a case of when you send food back in a restaurant and they spit in it. I began using their services when I first moved to Las Vegas about eight months ago because they were close to work, and had financing available. The service was decent. One manager did a great job explaining everything in detail, though he did make a comment that if I posted an adverse review, they would remember it. The prices are quite expensive when you consider the diagnostic fees, the higher markups for parts, and the increasing cost of labor. It is really a place to go for convenience, especially with this unbearable heat in Vegas. At least when I was living in California, we had better weather to work on a car outside, I knew one friend who knew how to fix cars, or I had an honest and experienced mechanic nearby that knew what was wrong based on descriptions given without having to charge for any diagnostic fees every single time. In April, I went in for a diagnosis of a recent car problem where it stalled at a stoplight, only to leave with a $453.67 bill after all of the work was completed. The problem was simply replacing a leaking coolant recovery container, one that is easily unscrewed and lifted out. Within the next day, the car developed a new problem where the temperature sensor kept coming on. The AC had also suddenly stopped working immediately right after I had received the car back from the shop. I went back and saw their mechanic. He could not figure out why the temperature light kept coming on. As for the AC, he suggested it could be a slow leak. I will say that he was quite attentive and caring about details. I know that it is all purely speculation, but the AC actually worked fine the day I brought it in (blowing cold air), it suddenly did not work (blowing hot air) when I had received the car back... Anyways, he had asked me to bring it back another day as it was getting late and they were closing, but since I have to work all the time, I could not afford to leave the car over there for another full day. Their other manager, was very helpful and pleasant, until this issue had come up, granted they have been busy lately and backed up with plenty of customers, he had this look, the type you give a customer when you think they're creating trouble, either that or he knew something else. All I can say is, after spending over $1400 total in three separate repair dates (approximately $700, $250, $450) at the same shop for less than a one year period (under 8 months), please have some respect than to give me a dreaded look. I since started a new job this month in North Las Vegas and could not afford to have a car giving me trouble, especially with this Vegas summer heat coming up, plus the car stalled again, so I traded it in for a new car. The old car was only worth $450 trade in. In my opinion, with the ease of a Firestone credit card, it is easy to up-sell pricey services on 6 months interest free, but the customer suffers with the bill. read more

Shame on Firestone I had a flat at the Boulevard mall not even two minutes from there store. When I asked them if I could rent a lugnut to fix my car they told me to drive it on said flat tire and they would fix it, ruin my expensive rims I don't think so. I would have put the doughnut tire on and then went back to them and bought a new tire... But I will now wait until my loyal customer service provider Discount Tire opens on Monday and buy a new tire there. Huge kudos to Phil at Firestone. For 6 months I had been having an issue with a battery light icon that kept coming on and off intermittently. I had taken the car to several shops, including the dealership, and no one was able to solve or give me a satisfactory explanation regarding the problem, until Phil took up the challenge and went above and beyond with his time and effort and finally solved the problem. I could not be more grateful. High praise also for Shelby and the front of shop staff for their helpfulness and professionalism. read more

I paid $1134.01 on Monday, March 20 for what was told would be a new and FUNCTIONAL AC Compressor. I ( probably stupidly so) actually trusted them after I paid the money. I happened to turn on the air the next day and it was still blowing out hot air. Because I work two jobs and I am a full time doctoral student, I didn't have time again until Sunday (3/26) to have them repair the work that was done incorrectly. When I present this to an associate Carl R, he tries to argue with me about a "100% Guarantee on parts" instead of acknowledging the inconvenience and mistake of Firestone's part and a solution to compensate me for the poor service on their end- which still NO one has been able to admit to this day. After I refuse to argue with him about his nonsense rhetoric he then calls me back two hours later and admits that it was a "faulty compressor" as I had told him all along. Very conveniently, NO manager was present and would apparently be out ALL week. I found it further strange that after they FINALLY finished the work correctly, six days later, the conversation was , " this was done at no charge." Of course ! I've already paid the money for a service that was supposed to be done right the first time. Furthermore, NO ONE could offer me any information regarding their policy and procedure as it relates to how cars are checked for efficiency after a job is supposedly, though in this case incorrectly completed. To this day, I have yet to hear from the store manager, Bing Lin Jr who is supposedly away all week. I expect I will probably ONLY hear from him now because of this review. For three days managers were negligent regarding my request to speak with someone about the inconvenience after calling corporate and sending many emails. The moral of the story is DO NOT GO TO FIRESTONE, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY AND NOT ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. This is by far the worst customer service ever and if their policy when things like this happens is to say " we serve 55k customers per day", as the excuse I heard from Keith who works for Bridgestone based Roselle, IL ,then this is a piss poor customer service friendly company who could care less about ensuring that customers come back and encourage others to come to Firestone. This apparent senior worker Keith from Illinois advised me and again accepted no responsibility for the poor service and inconvenience and only offered a" $100 good will check." I am NOT looking for a hand out, I am looking for accountability and fairness, two qualities that are not present in any of the dozen representatives I have spoken with a Firestone, from the greedy corporate officers to the incompetent mechanics. Dropped my truck off at 7am, first on in the garage. I knew I needed new rear brakes and and oil change. Judy called and told me my serpentine belt was cracking so I had them replace it, they did not, however, save it for me and show me the wear so I have no idea if it actually was. Brakes, oil change, belt...three hour job. Twice I was told they would call me. I had to call them at 1pm, still not done. I'm told my injectors are bad and do I want to spend 2grand on new ones. 3pm still not done...an oil change, brakes and a belt going on 6 hours. Finally got my truck at 5:15. Brake pedal squeaks, a trusted mechanic told me the injectors are fine. Shoddy work, missed their deadline by 7 hours and I think there are trying to sell unnecessary work. Doesn't deserve a rating, worst experience ever. On Wednesday April 26, I took my truck that had a screw in the tire. Recommended to replace with a new one. So I bought a new tire, and rotate tires, 140 and some change was the cost. I was so confident thinking they did an excellent job I didn't even bother to check their work, bad mistake. I went on a trip to Mexico and on Friday I was losing air pressure. I saw the tire it was notified on what side and to my surprise it was the same tire with the screw in it. I was upset, no I was pissed because further inspection tires weren't even rotated. I just got back from my trip on Sunday night, a little scared and hoping that the tire wouldn't blow out or accident would happen. No service was performed, I paid for service and in return received nothing. Incompetent, horrific, and no excuse for this, this is beyond stupidity. Where is the leadership, where is the so called ASE certified personnel. Not recommend to nobody and never returning, lies, stealing and scary, this is what they do to customers, unacceptable. read more

FANTASTIC customer service from Shelby! I had been calling around to multiple shops and dealerships and was having trouble getting anyone honest and reasonably priced. I spoke to Shelby and was very impressed. The price I was given absolutely murdered the quote the dealership provided. I expressed concerns about not going to a dealer but was reassured with confidence and kindness from Shelby. I made an appointment for the next day and when I came in Shelby had remembered our conversation. She already knew exactly what needed to be done and got me in quickly. My car was finished in a timely manner and when I came back in, the lobby area was busy. I was concerned I'd have to wait a while to pick up my car since Shelby was the only one helping people. She was answering phones, greeting people coming in, and helping customers all at once and all on her own. I don't know how she did it, but she helped everyone so efficiently. I only waited a few minutes! The price at the end was exactly what I was quoted. I'm very impressed and will only be using (and referring) Shelby at Firestone from now on. read more
