I've enjoyed my visits to the new place on Broadway. Have been there enough to now have a favorite breakfast item. I'm not crazy about the closeness of the tables, could/should be a little more room in between. It's loud, not certainly conducive to an intimate conversation. I was apprehensive about this place. Normally for brunch on Sunday I want mimosas. Most places that don't serve alcohol and have brunch tend to be on the Denny's side of things. It is close by, so we thought we would give it a try. When we went inside, I was still apprehensive because it looked a little hipster and pretentious. This place is amazing! I have been there about 4 times in the last 4 weeks. That's right once a week! I have added it to my list of frequently visited brunch places! The coffee is fantastic, their fall menu features a millionaire's bacon that melts in your mouth, their pumpkin pancakes are filled with pumpkin flavor and not too sweet which is often a concern of mine! I've loved first watch ever since I started going when I was young and living in Columbus, OH. I'm excited to see it has expanded so far! However, now that I've been to a few other locations around the US, I'm noticing a trend of deteriorating service. Things just seem a bit unorganized - servers running around in different sections, not greeting the tables with water right away, too much time between table touches, etc. the last three times I've dined at all different locations I've gotten my coffee far before I was ever given water - which I've had to ask for every time. Maybe this is a company thing, but then why provide water glasses? I think this could all be rectified with a stricter training program and better regard to steps of service. Everyone is very capable and friendly - there's no problem there! But it might be helpful to have steps to stick to so everything runs smoothly. Food has been fantastic and I do appreciate the overhaul of the menu while keeping the classic favorites! I do miss the old blueberry syrup but that's my nostalgia talking... First Watch will always be on my list of favorites, excited to see it keep growing and doing well :) read more

The food here was really good. Well, everyone's food but mine. I got the honey chicken salad. I was thinking it would be sweet but every time I took a bite my nose felt like it was on fire. My eyes were watering it just burned. My husband ate some and he didn't even feel burning at all. I wonder if I am allergic to something in the food that make me feel like it was burning. Anyone else have that issue? Or know the ingredient that cause it? Other than that the service and atmosphere was fantastic. Next time I'll stick to something more breakfasts. read more

Let me just say this first. We frequent First Watch very often and this location the most. We have never had a bad experience until today. We got there at 12:05 pm and didn't leave until a few minutes before 2 for a family of 5. We waited almost an hour for our food, while our waitress avoided us at all cost. Sat there without water for over a half an hour. When we arrived there they were busy but it was dwindling down. Our orders were wrong, cold,etc. For example, I ordered poached eggs and received over easy eggs that were runny and in a puddle of water? The avocados on the toast were horribly brown, our sons scrambled eggs were ice cold. The grilled cheese our other son got was also super cold and was cheese toasted on the bread and closed together but then left to the side to sit so the sandwich didn't stay together either. The million dollar bacon, which we have gotten many times was almost to the point of not being passed enough as cooked. They finally brought the poached eggs literally with the check. Stopped here on our way back to Arkansas after spending the night at the Holiday Inn. Great menu selection with healthy options. They close at 2:30 pm and offer breakfast, brunch and lunch. I chose the avocado toast - the avocado was fresh. My daughter chose an omelette and a side of fruit - the fruit was also very fresh. The coffee was better than average for restaurant coffee. Overall excellent service. Nina, our server, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. First Watch is more of an upscale breakfast joint, like an upgraded IHop that takes the sticky and boring out and puts in bright and friendly. I beg to differ with a couple of reviews that stated a negative and a positive aspect. First, that the prices don't break your wallet. McDonald's and Burger King don't break your wallet, this place definitely can. Secondly a reviewer complained about the community seating and customers having conversations were disruptive. We have to realize that community seating is a thing now and even Denny's is putting them in. If you don't like sitting next to strangers who talk, don't sit there. Don't choose community seating because it's your only option, choose it because it suits you. I have had lunch and breakfast and both were delicious and served on time. The wait staff is friendly and attentive, and they also avoided the line "did you save any room for dessert?", which was a plus.
