We had to come here because the service and the food was terrible at the hotel we were staying out. We were staying at the Sheraton by the way... anyway they had excellent options and are attentive to any allergies or intolerances. They leave the coffee pot right on your table so you don't have to www it for refills. We went here twice in a row as we only gave the gem show two days. We will probably come back here next year when we come back for the gem show. Waitress never brought water that I asked for. Never came over and asked me how is everything? I asked for a to go box, easily took 15 min to arrive, along with the bill. Geez. Never filled my coffee even tho there was a pot in the table. She should have come over and filled my cup from the carafe. My server was no where to be seen, she vanished. The food. Urgh. I ordered over medium eggs, they were over easy. Over medium means the white is cooked and the yolk is still runny. My eggs were over easy, at best. The white was runny and not cooked. Gross for me. The potatos were ok. The "homemade biscuit with homemade gravy was obviously purchased from a supplier and NOT cooked in house. Even tho that is what the menu said. Worst of all is that the food is served on cold plates! WTH? Cold plates make the eggs cold before it gets to the table! I'll never be back! Lots of hype that does not hold up with the meal. The elote corn hash was a culinary experience I will NOT forget. I think it's only a summer offered menu item, but I think First Watch needs to put this on their permanent menu. I switched the chorizo with turkey sausage and it was still great. First Watch is an excellent breakfast/brunch spot in Tucson. Their wait time for a table is very minimal compared to places like Prep & Pastry or Baja Cafe, which puts it higher on my list of places to choose from when it comes to my first meal of the day. read more

I had a Farmers Biscuit Sandwich $9.99 with a Morning Meditation $3.99 & a side of potatoes. This was delicious! The arugula inside of the biscuit sandwich was seasoned so well with lemon and the sausage and egg combination was great. The biscuit itself was so soft & the drink was very refreshing. The beer taste was strong but the agave nectar sweetened it out. I've never had food delivered so fast, but it looked amazing coming to the table. Okay, taking a bite...please hold :-) WOW it's good! Potatoes were simple yet scrumptious; seasoned with salt and pepper and light grilled onions for flavor. The egg, bacon, cheese with lemon coated arugula sandwich was delicious. This place was absolutely fantastic! First, the service was absolutely incredible! Our serve, Diana, was nice, speedy, and just made this an overall great experience. When we were curious what the drinks tasted like, she QUICKLY got us all (we were in a group of 4) samples of the freshly squeezed juice! That was just an example of her excellent service! Secondly the food was phenomenal! I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict and it was one of the best eggs benedict i've ever had! My friends had a variety of different other things like the lemon ricotta pancakes, chicken avocado chopped salad, and much more and they all loved their food as much as me! Everything was perfect! The food here is decent. We had the special, the shrimp and grits and the "million dollar" bacon. The grits weren't cooked properly and the whole dish wasn't seasoned. You can tell they expected the heat to just carry the dish instead of properly seasoning. The "million dollar" bacon is just bacon with syrup on top that somehow drowned out the taste of the bacon altogether. I didn't even know that was possible. This would be good hangover food if you need filling and bland. read more

My bf and I just found our new favorite breakfast spot. The wait was very short to get a table, but we went on a Tuesday morning. We did try to come one Sunday morning and it was just too full so we left. When we told the cashier he recommended using the app to check in next time on busy days. We will definitely do that! Our waiter was nice and I thought we would have to wait much longer for our meal, which we didn't. We got there at 8:55 am and got our food around 9:20 am, so that's including us thinking about what to order. I got the classic breakfast, which I thought seemed pricy, but once I tried it the $9 meal was so worth it. The eggs are cage free and cooked perfectly as ordered, the potatoes were masterfully seasoned and not overly browned. I had a bite of my bfs Belgian waffle and it was so good. The atmosphere was very nice and the decor was rustic with a touch of modern flair. We will have to come back and sit on the patio, which looks very inviting. read more

My boyfriend and I frequent this location often- I'd say at least 2-3x a month if not more. The customer service and quality of food have always been great but just recently we experienced a level of customer service that I felt deserves a review. A few weeks ago we came in to have breakfast on the weekend. There was an issue with my boyfriend's meal - I won't go into details but it was a pretty significant issue. We didn't want to make a big deal of it because we've never had any issues previously but we did make our waitress aware of it. The manager immediately comped both our meals, asked if we wanted them to remake both our dishes etc. They were very attentive and apologetic which was much appreciated. We opted to leave for the day and didn't think anything of it past that. We returned this weekend and halfway through our meal the manager approached us AGAIN, apologizing for the issue we experienced and comped our breakfast for the second time. We were not expecting this at all and were blown away that they even remembered who we were (despite being regulars) but that they would offer to comp our meal a second time. The issue we experienced was not a deterrent to us returning, and the added customer service and care was above and beyond what was expected. Thank you First Watch for caring about your customers as much as you do! We will definitely continue to visit you. read more

Just craving breakfast (when am I not, though?) and this place happened to be there! As my first culinary experience in Tucson, it wasn't bad. Atmosphere: Very nice, clean and modern. It feels like it belongs in Austin where the Hipsters go (not an insult, just a statement) to get their brunch and power juice fix. It has a good vibe with its wide windows, wooden tables and floors. Service: Great! We were greeted in a timely manner from a server with a kind demeanor. He was patient in describing some menu items, as I took forever to decide, and when I made my substitutions. You pay at the counter on the way out, and our cashier was super peppy, as well. Good job, gentlemen Chickichanga: Not too bad for a souped up burrito. The Vera Cruz sauce was a good choice to put on top of this, and I like how thin the tortilla is. I substituted Gruyere cheese in place of the cheddar and Monterey Jack cause... well, it's Gruyere! One of my favs. I, also, added arugula to it because I love me some fresh, peppery rabbit food from the Gods. The potatoes that came with it were flavored well, but they were definitely overcooked. At least the fruit was fresh! The Elevated Egg Sandwich: Well, the flavor is there, but I thought this would be better cause how can you go wrong with eggs, Gruyere, avocado and arugula? I'll tell you... by not using enough! The Brioche bread overtakes the sandwich and swallows the ingredients. They should change the bread to something like French Bread or Ciabatta. Drinks: There is no alcohol here, so no mimosas or Bloody Mary's We tried the Kale Tonic and Morning Meditation instead. They're both really good! You need to like beets to like the latter cause, you can definitely taste them! The former was very refreshing, but just a tad bitter which is to be expected due to the kale so not bad! Love the ambiance and furniture, plus the overall layout of the restaurant is all very pleasing. Did not realize that it was an extremely healthy place to eat. Organics galore and locally sourced foods where available make for a little pricier brunch, but not lacking in taste and quality. Loved everything I tried, including the $20 (price exaggerated) glass of organic POWER juice. You want to earn your fifth star however, add turkey bacon to the menu, not big on sausages. And there was a small cleanliness complaint that was only due to a slow employee who took a little long on their smoke break. Give it a try! read more
