Service here is uniformly good, and the staff consistently friendly. Today, we came in with a party of seven, including three kids. Our server Justine was super patient with us, and also immediately recruited a second server to back up her tables when we were taking longer than usual to wrangle our order, so everyone got good service. Then, when one of the kids spilled a kale tonic, she was quick with kind words for the embarrassed child, cleanup materials, and a replacement drink. He had the brisket scramble and I had the market hash and they didn't blink an eye when I asked for them to hold the eggs and cheese (easily veganized a dish for me, thank you!!). My friend took me here as her routine after-hike meal. I tried the Kale Tonic juice she recommended (way better than expected), Rainbow Toast (toast loaded with fruits) and the Acai Bowl. First Watch is one of my favorite places in Tucson to grab some breakfast or a late brunch. I almost always get the Skilet Hash which is phenomenal in my opinion! The only time I have had somewhat of a bad experience is when the waiting times are longer than they should be, but their food makes up for it. First timer Had the Cali breakfast burrito with avocado. - Wait time was not painful at all even tho it was busy. We sat outside but got chilly fast. Requested to be moved inside after ordering our food. Was told that we would have to be the last on their wait list. Didn't seem fair since we had to wait too when we arrived. First time at the First Watch. I've been going to The Good Egg for years and I was a little sad that they left town. But... the First Watch is much better. The food is soooo fresh. I was starving when I went so I got the Works omelette. The toast that comes with it was the perfect combination of crunch and moist. The omelette itself was very tasty and it filled me up. My wife and I went to First Watch this morning for breakfast. She ordered a cinnammon pancake, which she said was tasty and nicely prepared. My experience was entirely different. I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict. My platter arrived in a timely fashion, but everything on it was ice cold. We were among the first customers this morning, and the platter couldn't have been prepared awaiting pickup; there wasn't enough time for that. I don't know if the entire meal had been prepared the night before, the day before, or even that morning--but an ice cold breakfast ruined my appetite. Everything on the platter was cold--even the potatoes. That takes amazing indifference on the part of management and the cooks. I returned the food and I wasn't charged for it. I decided not to order anything else. A mouthful of cold eggs, even colder ciabatta and semi-congealed Hollandaise sauce was more than enough bad food for a morning. My advice--stay away from this chain restaurant. Don't be fooled by an what looks like an interesting menu. At least at the First Watch where we were today, the cook doesn't have a clue how to prepare a decent meal. My rating: First Watch on Speedway in Tucson is SIMPLY AWFUL. read more

A bunch of us work out together and then go to breakfast at First Watch( you manage your calories your way, we'll do ours). Try one of the blended juice drinks. They look like fancy cocktails but are a little better for you! First Watch has these whole grain pancakes that are absolutely amazing, and the service is as good as the food. Excellent! I've been here twice and the food far exceeded my expectations. I'm reserving the fifth star for when I have tried more of their menu. Avocado toast and eggs was what I had one time and their seasonal butternut squash bisque was what I had the other time. Their coffee is on point. I like that they leave the pot with you at the table so you don't have to wait for refills. The service was good too. It's a younger crew but they are all quick and professional. Haven't had to ask twice for anything either time I've been here. Prices are a little higher than similar places in the area but the food is better so it's worth it. If you sit by the windows you get a good view of the mountains (Lowe's blocks a little but just look past it). Parking is shared with Lowe's and another building but there is plenty to be had so it's unlikely you'll have to look hard for a place to park. read more

We had a delicious breakfast today, and we will definitely be going back. My husband ordered the meat omelette which comes with a side salad and thick whole grain bread. I wanted a frittata, and the item that I was going to order with chorizo, onions, cheese etc. was an omelette. The waitress said that we could order any omelette in the frittata style. I was very happy with it. There was a little but of spice and just enough cheese. It had avocado and sour cream on the top and also had a side salad and bread. If you order coffee, they put the pot on the table. There are a number of items that I would like to try. They have quinoa, oatmeal and muesli with fruit for those who might want to go a little healthier. Today they had pumpkin pancakes and a sweet potato frittata as their specials. I want to give it more stars because the food was so good and came out very quickly. There weren't very many people which might have been why but everything was great, except for the service. Our server came to our table and just immediately asked if we wanted coffee. I said yes please, my boyfriend said no. She poured my coffee and walked away, didn't even ask my boyfriend if he wanted something else to drink. She came and took our order, and never got friendlier. She dropped our check off and that was all of our interaction with her. She made us feel unwelcome and although the food was so good, this very well may be the last time we visit here.
