My wife, friend and myself came for lunch. The mozzerella sticks were some of the best I have ever had, they were huge and I am from NY saying that. I had the steak sandwich which was pretty good, and my wife had the burger which was also good. My friend had lobster and he enjoyed every minute of it! First time getting food poisoning. Not what you want the first time you're visiting bar harbor. The views were great and our waitress was amazing. However shortly after leaving my body had all signs of food poisoning. I called to warn the manager that something wasn't right, hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else and ruin hard earned vacation days. read more

Got the Captain's Platter, Not a shrimp on the platter, only 2 scallops and the biggest junk bags on the clams I have ever seen. The "green" was oozing out. The haddock was really nicely cooked but was small. Fries were excellently cooked but how can you not deep fry store bought fries. Cole slaw was tasteless unless you just like eating cabbage. I did get a carrot "stick" in it so I guess that was a bonus. $42 for that and a root beer. Won't ever go back. read more

We always stop here for an "ice cream on the pier" when we're in Bar Harbor. Its not as flashy (or expensive or crowded) as Ben & Bill's up the way, but the ice cream is very tasty. The classic order here is a chocolate soft serve with chocolate jimmies (sprinkles, to those of you not from New England). They also have a decent selection of Giffords' hard serve flavors, including a really good Moose Tracks. There's not a lot of seating, so just order at the window and then take your ice cream for a stroll around Bar Harbor. read more

Just had dinner here! Wow where do I start. We made reservations and yet still didn't get seated outside. Then we are put in the back corner of the restaurant with no air conditioning!!! It was upwards of 85 degrees. Service was awful. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks. Our food came out in 20 minute increments. No one ate together!!! We had to beg for our dinners, our drinks and then remind them we didn't get our soups. Manager was unprofessional and unwilling to take care of us!!! DONT BOTHER GOING HERE!! Came here for dinner with 16 other people. The service is amazing, but there will be a long wait for the food. There's tons of outdoor seating right on a deck above the water. The quality of the food is not worth the cost. Plus, I may be bias because I'm allergic to half of the menu.... read more

Had a steamed lobster and a lobster roll. Was there for the early bird deals, which are really good. The environment is very pub/bar-ish and everything is kind of dingy, but for the early-bird prices, it was totally worth it. The waiter was kind of quirky, but he got the job done. read more

Sat outside under the umbrellas. Nice view over the harbor. Started with chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. Both good. Moz sticks are more like mozzarella logs. HUGE. Fried Scallops were very good. Ahi tuna app was good. Kids burger was big and cooked very nicely to medium. Beers were the typical Main selection on tap as well as other usuals. 6 baked bacon wrapped scallops in maple syrup sauce 30+steamed mussels in garlic and wine sauce lobster bisque crab cake with chips and pickle lobster roll with fries and pickle =50$ not including tip WOO HOO! but the crab cake was mostly cake and i had a better lobster roll down at Thirty Whale, none the less the view of the harbor was great, and the pleasant spring breeze. The hostess here was strangely disorganized, but I'm starting to see that it is a trend, especially at the FishMaine Restaurant group family of restaurants. Anyhow, we finally managed to clinch seats at the bar, and ordered just a dozen oysters and a couple of drinks to watch the Olympics. The oysters did not taste very good and was very fishy. This place was recommended by our person at the B&B. It was casual and the service was friendly. As soon as we arrived we were seated, no waiting. We had the bacon wrapped bacon Scallops that were tender, sweet from the maple service and crispy bacon. We had the lobster tails that were good served with rose potatoes and corn. I've been to this place twice in the last month. Oysters are out of this world, fish taco's are great, drinks are large (and good). Everything I've seen looks excellent. I'm not sure what these tools are used to eating that have given less than at least 'good' reviews, but they obviously are used to eating at some joint on 'kitchen nightmares' in queens or brooklyn. This was a nice little resteraunt. The french onion soup was very good. I aslo got the steak sandwich, which was bassically a steak and cheese without cheese. We went to this resteraunt after we left the whale and puffin cruise. If you have tickets from this they offer a discount. read more

The restaurant sits on the dock and in warmer weather, you can sit on the dock to enjoy the seafood. I was there for opening night of 2012. Everyone is friendly and service was great. The waiter's recommendation was excellent! I'd recommend this restaurant. read more

Best seafood meal we had in Maine! I had the grilled scallops, shrimp and half lobster. Wonderful!!!!!! My husband had the cedar planked salmon. He liked it, but thought it was slightly over spiced. Had dinner at this place. The food is okay nothing to get excited about. We ordered steamers which was okay, the ahi tuna was six small slices literally inch and a half long and an inch wide. Pretty pricey compared to other places in the village. The waite service is lacking in both personality and efficiency. We had to ask for things twice or three times. We had the best bartender ever here. She was so friendly and helpful. Gave suggestions on where to go in Bar Harbor, what to eat (for light appetizers) and drink at the bar, treated our kids like they were a delight, and just was so nice to chat with. Some of the best seafood I have had while in Bar Harbor! Liz was our waitress and she was seriously the greatest in every aspect. She was honestly probably what made the experience so enjoyable. This place was not all that great. First we were met by a not so friendly hostess. She never made eye contact with us and just pointed to our table. Our server was short and non conversational. He didn't know the menu very well. The food was okay. Nothing to get excited about. We got lobster rolls from a deli up the street (Adelmann). That place was very good.
