Burgers are quite juicy and my hubby especially enjoyed the hot dog. Burgers are made to order - which is great. We like spicy food and opted for the jalapenos - didnt sit well with us! Heard good things about this place so had to try it out. Was told this place dad comparable to In n Out, but I was not impressed. Few tips: 1-two burger size options Regular and little burger. I got the little burger assuming it'd be smaller, but it was a normal size burger. The regular burger option is actually a double patty burger. 2-the fries are bland. A regular size fry has a large serving and is more than enough. 3-a positive is the free toppings they offer with every burger: mayo, tomato, onions or grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, ketchup, pickles, lettuce. Five Guys is one of the new breed of up-quality burger joints. You guessed it - they turn out a really tasty burger. They do burgers and fries but no onion rings or shakes like The Habit does. Fries can be ordered with Cajun seasoning which is pretty good. Portion size on the fries is HUGH so don't order large unless you have at least three people. They also have peanuts for free in a big bin, oddly enough. Plenty of seating, good service and simple menu ala In-N-Out. Enjoy! read more

When I first saw this place opening up, I was super excited to try it. There was so much hype about how good the food is, possibly better then In-n-Out or even Val's burgers. Sadly all the hype did not meet my expectations. The food portions were huge, but it was not all that and the prices are a tad on the expensive side. Really random, but this place kind of reminded me of In-N-Out, probably because of the colors. All Burgers come with free toppings, like grilled mushrooms or peppers, which is a plus because most places would normally charge extra. You can order their fries Five Guys style or Cajun style. Their regular fries feeds up to 2 people, while the large fries feeds maybe 3-4 people. One of the cons about this place is that they don't have milkshakes. The first few times I ate here were pretty good, but a few days ago, I ordered the hamburger with all toppings except mushrooms, and, I was so sad :'( I was less than half way into my burger when I realize I'm just munching on bun and vegetables... where the eff is my meat?! Rediculous Waste Of Money! First off, the service is incredibly slow. This is not a sit-down restaurant, so why am I waiting almost 30 minutes for my food? Second, you have to put so many condiments on your burger, just to ensure you'll taste something and be able to swallow it, since it is so dry and tasteless. For as long as the food takes, you'd think it would have flavor. The bacon? So crispy it disintegrates upon touch. This place is just awful. Since starting work in Dublin, I've come to this Five Guys a few times. It's an easy lunch when you work just feet away. Like other Five Guys, the burgers here are amazing. Always hot, juicy and just massive in size (stop laughing). I always get the same thing. A cheeseburger (two patties) all the way and a regular drink. For those that don't know, getting a burger "All the way" at five guys consists of everything in black on there menu. The usual stuff like tomato, lettuce, and ketchup. Mushrooms and grilled onions are also part of the "All the way" so you get a mix of traditional and non traditional toppings. What really sets this Five Guy's from others are: 1. The dining room. It's a lot larger then other ones I've been in. A lot more seating so you don't feel cluttered, sitting next to people you don't know. 2. The employees. They believe in not using your indoor voice here, which is a good thing. The first time I heard them yell a number over the P.A. system I admit it startled me a little. But it's a great way to actually get your attention, because yes, there will be people who get lost in whatever there doing and won't listen for their number. Not here. They also have fun here. Singing as they cook. They walk around asking everyone how everything is. There is usually always walking around, sweeping and cleaning empty tables. I've been here 3 times in one week - just shows how a burger craving turns into a nightmare when you're trying to eat healthy! The down low: - You get to pick free toppings for your burger (they range from grilled mushrooms to grilled onions, to different sauces) - The little burger is ONE patty, and the regular burger has TWO patties (just to clarify) - Roasted peanuts are self-serve while you wait - I prefer the cajun fries over the regular fries - They OVER-STUFF the regular fries in the container (to the point where half the bag is filled with fries) so don't order the large if you're not going to eat as many fries. - No, McDonald's fries are STILL the BEST - There is only one restroom stall for the men's and women's (don't know I needed to put that in this review, I just figured that a place like this would have more stalls). The nights that I have been here weren't too busy if it did get busy, I would be easily annoyed with having to wait for a bathroom. - I don't see why people think the buns get soggy by the time you eat them. The buns are soft, but I haven't had any soggy burgers. - I can see why it got so many awards for best burger....because the awards were mostly on the east coast where an In-N-Out does not exist!!! Their burgers are comparable, but the chain is different so....... Overall a very tasty burger. I like In 'n' Out but I think 5 Guys has a slight edge in the flavor department. I really like all the topping options and am especially grateful they don't put thousand Island dressing on it like In 'n' Out does. I can't compare fries because I didn't try 5 Guys fries, but it'd be hard to make fries worse than In 'n' Out does. If I came across a 5 Guys right next to an In 'n' Out I would have to go with 5 Guys. However, this 5 Guys is right next to Fuddruckers, and for me, Fuddruckers will win out every time, so it might be long time before I have 5 Guys again. read more

A worthy rival to In 'N' Out. I've been here a few times since the place opened. I guess I've been lucky because I've never experienced a super-long line or had to hunt for a table. The gimmick at Five Guys is you can pimp your burger out however you like, so it's customized to your personal tastes. All toppings and condiments are included in the base price. My burger creation was nothing short of a work of art: Regular size (double patty) Grilled onions Grilled mushrooms Cheese Lettuce Bacon Tomato BBQ sauce And it was all framed in a big piece of tin foil. So what's with the hoopla over Five Guys Burgers and Fries? It's not as if the hamburger was invented by them...nor the French Fry. And all this chatter over a burger joint makes one wonder if they truly knock In & Out down or are they just as good? I had to find out for myself. Imagine my surprise to learn that the Taxi's burger joint was gone and in its place was Five Guy. I made sure that when I went it was well past lunch. Good thing too, because not only was the parking lot full (Not hard to do around the Regal Cinema) but Five Guys was very busy. After reading the reviews here on Yelp, I decided I'd order on-line since I didn't want to wait around. The web page was easy to use and the directions simple to follow. So, I order a cheeseburger with Cajun fries. When I got to the establishment, I encountered one of the serves (let's call him Brad), Brad. This young kid was bored to death...he saw me, went about his business and could care less. A few more passes and the anger in my eyes got his attention, finally. "Duh, can I help you?" I'm praying at this point that Brad does not represent Five Guys finest...man this kid is really bored! I tell him that I'm here to pick up my order. He goes looking for it and his side kick, a young lady, finally picks up that Brad isn't too swift. She speaks to me, tells Brad what to do, and my order finally arrives. The burger was hot, larger than what I expected, and full of flavor. While not the slice of Heaven that I anticipated, it was worth going out of my way and enduring Brad. The fries tasted good, but what is with that cup they put them in? I find the cup annoying and cheap on Five Guys part. Bottom line, this is a great alternative burger joint and several steps above the old Taxi's establishment. I'll be back for the food, and perhaps to see if Brad is still employed! read more

First off, I'm shocked at how low the rating is for this place. I've been hearing tons about Five Guys; how they're the new In-n-Out and everything's fresh and good. A lot had been made about it, and my dad had been dying to try it. I can see the comparisons to In-n-out. It LOOKS like one with the red accents on white.Burgers and fries are fresh done. The comparisons end there. Sticking with decor for a second, the place is absolutely wallpapered in reviews, magazine printouts and banners with blurbs from the east coast about how great this place is. This isn't uncommon in the restaurant business, but there's so many of them. They're in the bathrooms, and on the doors. Most are one liners and readers choice awards. It's great to be proud of your accomplishments, but none of these are local, and none speak of THIS store. Chains may have a continuity to them, but there's great McDonalds and crappy McDonalds, as an example. So it's a touch boastful. If you're going to boast about your food, it better be good. As my rating shows, it is, but nothing extraordinary. I can't compare it to In-n-Out for a key reason, the price. While they offer a cheap single patty for a little under 4 bucks, that will get you a double WITH cheese at In-n-Out. We were limited in funds, so we got "Little Bacon Burgers" (we meant cheese burgers, but oh well) for $4.59. The regular Bacon Burger is two patties with cheese for a full 2.50 more. That basically places it closer to Fuddruckers in prices. So it's not quite Fast Food, but closer to sit down like Taxis or the Fudd. The cheap options keeping the "Best Bargain Burger" ad somewhat truthful. I got my burger with lettuce, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, ketchup and mustard. One thing that did impress me was the condiment selection. They ask you what you want on it, which is nice, and the selcetions include items places like Fudd's charges more for, like grilled mushrooms. Big plus there, even if there weren't too many of them. The bacon itself was crisp and not overcooked, and they covered the bottom bun in it. What struck me as odd was that it was precooked (one could see a bunch of it in baskets under the bun rack). Odd when everything else is cooked to order. The burger itself was cooked through, and juicy, which represents its never frozen status. Flavor was mild, and I could imagine it being over powered by the BBQ sauce I dipped my fries in or even strong cheese. It didn't taste like a fast food burger, or even In-n-Outs (unlike Farmer Boys which tasted like a more expensive version with bacon and avocado). It was good, but again, nothing mind blowing . One patty was filling, though I also had plenty of free peanuts, About the fries, I laud them for being fresh, but I have to give this one to In-n-Out. They are thick cut, not greasy, and decent. They're also not the starched to death, potatooey tasting monstrosities that's become of Burger Kings or Carl's Jr's fries. What they are though, are basically flavorless. Thinking the acclaim came from the Cajun flavoring, I got a side of it to sprinkle on. All that did was make my tongue burn mildly for three minutes. Ketchup or BBQ sauce is an absolute must. They even include malt vinegar for those of you thinking this is a fish and chip place. Service was average. Our order taker was helpful and told use the size difference, which was nice as it took two minutes to get that answer from the other employees standing around a few minutes prior.There's a lot of people on staff, and none seem too quick to see to people standing by, trying to get their attention. They also lock up tight at 10pm, though a leaving employee was kind enough to show me to the door she was exiting from when I went out for a brief after dinner walk before rejoining my family So a family of four had four Little Bacon Burgers and a large fry (which divided up nicely) for a little under 26 dollars. A decent value for what you get, but not exactly cheap, especially when we're getting their value size and they're considered fast food. All in all, for a place that's been hyped to high heaven as a mecca of freshness and the slayer of the In-n-Out throne, they're pretty average. They don't even compare. It's silly really. You want to compare to In-n-Out, try Farmer Boys, as they actually taste the same for more cash. In-n-Outs a better value. For a few dollars more, you have more variety at Fudds, though go there for the exotics (the Dublin is best for it's pricey, but of so worth it, Kobe burger) or Red Robin. Would I eat here again? Sure. Like I said, the burger was decent, and if you stick with the small version, the prices are good. The condiment selection rivals Fudds and they at least know how to pile on the bacon, even if it's still strangely precooked. Being a vegetarian seems silly when going to a burger joint until you realize you can get a "vegetable sandwich" (burger with no meat) or a "grilled cheese" (cheeseburger with no meat). Luckily for me that is exactly what 5 guys had. I ordered my vegetable sandwich with grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, BBQ sauce, etc., and the boyfriend ordered some meaty monstrosity with bacon all over it (his favorite). We also got the cajun fries because we were feeling adventurous. We lucked out with finding a seat near the drink dispensers and we were both pretty excited about getting to eat free peanuts. (I know we're crazy.) The food was ready within 10 minutes or so but unfortunately for the eco-conscious in me our "eat in" order came in a paper bag...tsk tsk... SO THE VERDICT: If I were a nasty vegetarian I would have been pissed. When I unwrapped my burger there were a couple small pieces of bacon on the outside of the bun. Luckily I am not a nasty veg and just picked the pieces off and tossed them at boyfriend and ate my sandwich. The produce was fresh but the bun was smooshed and too soft. Our cajun fries were VERY seasoned to the point where it wasn't very good, and we both agreed that they were cut a little too big for our tastes. Boyfriend liked that the patties tasted home made and that he could get bacon on his burger but we both agreed the experience wasn't worth the hype. Very, very good honest burger. Relatively fast service (there was a line out the door at the new location in Dublin). You can custom order your burger just about with anything on top. Only thing you can't do is order how you want it cooked (well done, medium etc). The ingredients taste very fresh. They have it down to a science! We went to the Five Guys in Pleasant Hill a few months ago. I was kind of sad to see Fat Burger go, but glad another excellent burger joint went in in it's place. We ordered their Cajun Fries. It was a bit too strong to go with a burger-just my taste. I love spicy, but not necessarily with a burger. Now I know. Now there is a Five Guys close to my office and one close to my house!!! This was my first time at Five Guys and I must say that I was absolutely blown away. I came in joking about the whole debate as to which was better - In-n-Out or Five Guys, but I was just floored. The Cajun fries were devastating (like really good) and the burger was moist, homey, and just phenomenal. It almost tasted like a gourmet burger at a sit down restaurant. So for a fast food restaurant, man! They served quickly but didn't lose a beat in dishing out good burgers, each catered with a specific topping order. Oh yeah, and you just gotta love that customizability. And the service! We came in with about 100 people, give or take a few, without notifying ahead of time. I mean we got a couple good looks and even some photos since they weren't used to seeing such a large horde of Asians mobbing a place, but the guys at the counter really made it awesome. They were quick and easily adjusted to the size of our group. The moment that they saw us, they began making accommodations. And best of all, they served with smiles and actual joy as we stormed the place. I mean, we've gone to In-n-Out with a group like that and even called ahead but didn't get service like that. Truly, Five Guys, you've won a place in my heart. Thank you for opening a store in Alameda. I just hope it'll be as good as the one in Dublin. read more

To start, I have been a fan of Five Guys for almost 20 years - having lived at it's birthplace in Washington, DC. I've been to dozens of locations all over the country. I generally really like Five Guys, but this location (as in most in California) falls short. Three challenges: 1) This region apparently sources it's beef differently. It's quite bland, as others here have mentioned. 2) Prices are crazy high. I know this is California, but a regular cheeseburger, fries and a drink for $17.00? Even locations in New York and Chicago are in the $12 - $14 range for the same thing. 3) The staff here are decent, but are all super young and things fall apart easily - long wait times, sloppy food preparation, etc. I guess you get what you pay for - but again, my combo was $17.00. Dear Californians, This is what a burger place should taste like. Their fresh cut fries are just what I was hoping for, and not the soggy shoe strings you get at some other famous burger places in CA. Burgers are juicy and delicious - a little burger (one patty) is enough for most appetites, but if you're feeling extra hungry go for the regular (two patties). And who doesn't love FREE(!!!) toppings? My husband walked away with jalapenos, onions, hot sauce, pickles, and mushrooms. Not what I would want, but that's the point right? Get the burger YOU want, and don't pay extra for it!! This may not be a big thing, but I was pleasantly surprised to see the burger wrapped upside down - so when you unwrap it, it's already right-side up. Does that make sense? It was a little thing, but for what it's worth it made me smile. Very thoughtful I guess? Also, their hamburger buns are nice and steamed. They may seem softer than what you're used to, but that's the way to go in my opinion! I know we'll be back, and judging by the line that formed behind us right after we ordered, there's a healthy population of people in the tri-valley area that feel the same way. The line was all the way to the door the entire time we were there. We must have gotten there at just the right time because we walked right up to the very friendly cashiers. Who, I might add, were extremely helpful in making sure we knew what we were doing in case we hadn't been there before. The price was good, $20 for dinner is pretty standard around here. It was also neat to see that they have free peanuts to munch on while you wait for your meal. A nice little touch - especially if you have antsy kids who need something to keep them preoccupied while you're waiting for your food. Almost felt like we were at the ballpark - save throwing the shells on the ground. All in all, we'll be back again soon. And so should you. You'd really be missing out if you read all these reviews and tried to make a decision based on a standard that's not as good as what you could be having. Pretty typical for Five Guys which for me is pretty good for chain burgers. What sets Five Guys apart from the other chains is their variety of toppings, great french fries (and lots of them) and peanuts to eat while you wait. Also have vinegar for the fries which I like. I really dont get the 3 star rating or how they can be rated lower than In and Out. Dont get me wrong I am an In and Out fan but this place blows In and Out away! Cant believe i just tried them for the very first time. Came in late after a movie only a few people in the place and I counted 7 employees working! I ordered a regular burger with grilled onions, fries and a shake for my son. They cooked it fresh in a little under 10 minutes. Peanuts are an odd touch for a burger place but a nice bonus, love nuts! Got burger and stupid me didn't realize you need to tell them exactly what you want on the burger or it has nothing on it. Went back to retrieve condiments and dressed it and Oh it was so good! Juicy and flavorful and cheesy. Excellent burger, good quality meat and not skimpy on the meat like the other place. Fries were fresh, thick and delicious and they gave me a ton and I only ordered a small. Son said shake was too sweet. Only reason I could see some people docking a star is the price is more than most places but in this case you get better quality, tons of topping choices and a huge amount of fries so well worth it IMO. The first time my boyfriend and I came here, we didn't know that their small/little burgers were actually regular sized burgers so we ended up ordering way too much. They also give you a lot more fries than the container can hold, which led to us wasting some food since we weren't expecting so much. I really enjoy their cajun fries. It's almost like Boiling Crab's cajun fries, which I love. Five Guys' fries are thicker and denser, but they help satisfy my cravings until I get a chance to go back to Boiling Crab. They also always come out fresh and hot for me, and I've gone when it's been busy and when it's been somewhat empty. They have a good amount of tables and are kept pretty clean the times that I've been there. I like how they have a divided area for the lines all the time so people ordering or looking at the menu aren't in the way or crowding around the people eating. It sort of annoys me how they have quotes from different newspapers or people talking about how good their burgers are. If I'm already inside your restaurant, is there really a need to bombard me with these quotes everywhere I turn? Besides being able to customize your burger, there's really nothing else special about them. I would rather go to the nearby Fuddrucker's as I find their burgers juicier. This is my second visit to a Five Guys (the first one was in Phoenix) and the second time I've seen a large group of servicemen in camouflage having lunch. Is this the official burger joint of the U.S. military and I missed the memo? Whatever. Nobody minds a little eye candy with their meal ;) The decor is the same, bright and cheery red and white checkerboard stripes on the walls, a slightly deeper cherry toned ductwork contrasts with the black ceiling and stark white walls. There is nothing subtle or understated about this place there are more than twenty large signs hanging all around the room proclaiming that they were voted the best (blank) in various towns and states over the years. There is a parade of full color copies of articles in newspapers and magazines featuring Five Guys burgers and fries. It is loud in here, really LOUD. Glam rock and heavy metal power ballads blare and soccer moms try to corral hungry kids as others try merely to talk to others at the same table and be heard. I'm here alone, but I gather it would be a challenge trying to carry on a coherent conversation amidst all the hubbub. The tables and chairs are packed so closely together it's like trying to perform a ballet twisting this way and that to get to any of the tables in the middle; then you get to perform the ballet in reverse when your number is called to go and get your food. I fill my drink, get a small container of the free peanuts to stave off the hunger pains, and settle in to wait to hear my number called. I sign on the side of the box states that due to the possibility of allergic reactions you may not take the peanuts out of the restaurant. Have we really gotten to the point that if someone picks up a stray peanut off the ground outside they'll come after the restaurant that provided them with legal action? Never mind, don't answer that. My food arrives in under five minutes. It's a good thing there are free refills on drinks, because I ordered my small cheeseburger with extra jalapenos, and Five guys doesn't mess around with the pickled jalapenos that come in a jar. These puppies are FRESH. Add that to the generous serving of Cajun fries aI was served and I was going to need more than one Diet Coke to wash clear away the steam. There are three diet options at the soda fountain Diet Coke, Coke Zero, and caffeine free Diet Coke. Mmm... Warning: the hamburger and cheeseburger both come with two beef patties. If you want only a single patty, you need to order the small hamburger or small cheeseburger. They have 15 different toppings you can add to your burger and they are all FREE! This place is a little pricy for a burger joint. It was over $10 for a small cheeseburger, regular Cajun fry, and regular sized drink, but they delivered such a surprisingly large amount of food that I could barely finish it all. And I can really put away the food :) The burger was juicy, the cheese perfectly melted, the grilled mushrooms the perfect texture, and the jalapenos gave it the edge that I like! Fries are more like potato wedges - and you get loads for just the regular size. Custom toppings. Burger patties a bit bigger than In-N-Out, and I did get the tummy ache. The burgers get smashed cause the orders are handed out in paper bags. So if you've got burgers stacked on top of each other there will be flattened buns. The first thing you'll notice when you walk in is the walls are all covered with huge signs with quotes from newspapers, magazines, etc., that say how good the place is. Literally every inch of wall space! They even have smaller writings in the bathroom! I'm already here buying food so you don't need to try to convince me the food is good. Pretty tacky. Anyways - It is a good place to grab a cheeseburger, but you can't really make it a habit due to their high prices. Three of us went the other day and it was $30 - almost $40 (I don't remember the exact price - just that it was expensive for what you get). The patties are on the small side but they give you two of them. Maybe that is why the prices are higher? Other than the burgers, which I still think In-N-Out Burger does better, there isn't much else left that I would have again. I don't suggest the fries at all - they didn't taste good even right out of the frier. The hot dogs my buddy ordered were worse than what I can make at home. For the cheese dog they seem to use the individually wrapped cheese slices that are kind of disgusting. For hot dogs, I'd suggest going to Kasper's in Pleasanton or Casper's in Dublin - they are different businesses even though it is just one letter different. Those places do cheese dogs right - i.e. shredded cheese. My last complaint is the hours. According to the door they are only open to 10 or 11 PM, depending on the days. That is the earliest time a fast food place closes in this area. You would think they would stay open later considering the movie theatre is right there. With that said, it is worth trying atleast once, but I would suggest going to other places that are nearby instead. Oh by the way, the service was excellent. read more

5 guys is clearly a victim to all of the pre-hype and a wall full of press clippings singing praise does not help one bit. The decor is a straight-up bite off of In-n-Out. You feel like you are in a giant knock-off establishment! I got the Bacon Cheeseburger and it was actually really good! Tasty and balanced just right with all of the toppings. I went in with very high expectations. Boy was I disapointed. 1. Burger...eh, I had a better burger at "Fatburger" or at "In n Out". Yes, they have a ton of options that you can add to your burger, like mushrooms, bacon, salsa, etc, but the overall product is mediocre. 2. Fries...nothing special. Cons: Crowded, not place to sit and enjoy free peanuts. Price way higher than "Out", approaching the Fudd Fries, needs cup to hold the grease 5G vs. "Out" burger: Its "In" for the "Out", both in price and taste. I am not a fan of the fat, greasy fries in the cup. If you're not a fan of the sauce offered in an "Out" burger, this may be the place for you. 5G vs. Fudd: 5G is not a gourmet burger. My little bacon cheeseburger was delicious, i got a ton of fixings and it was sooo good...mayo tomatoes lettuce grilled onions hot sauce jalapenos and bbq sauce, it hit the SPOT!!! Their regular fries could easily feed two so i am glad we shared it... We got our food fast and it was hot n delicious. I LOVED that they gave you a REAL water glass not a dinky little 6oz cup that needs refilling 7 times during the course of a meal. My compaint: the fries are WAYYYY too frickin' salty. Not sure if they'll do it but next time i order fries I will ask for no salt please...everyone at the table agreed too, so maybe it was just a malfunction that night, who knows. Otherwise, i was a happy customer and will return! One of the best burger's I have ever had... EVER! The standard burger is around 5 bucks and comes with 2 patty's and toppings? (If that's too beefy for ya, they also have a junior size) and what do u fit into all this? ha! They've got a slew of toppings to satisfy your taste buds! It was my first time here, so I got... well... Everything! Yep, it's that simple to get it ALL! Oink Oink! The fries even came in cups but they definitely taste better with Cajun spices! I also tried a bacon-dog, not bad, not great, but I would definitely return for their burgers! There were about ten people in front of us but the line moved so quickly. I highly recommend trying this place if you have not been yet. Parking was a cinch if you don't mind a little walk (probably good for after you finish this meal anyway). read more

Finally Five Guys has come to the West Side! Oh I've been waiting to try Five Guys forever as I've been wanting to compare it to In N Out. And the verdict... Well first of all, Five Guys pretty much looks like an In N Out except in different colors. It is decked out in white and red and the moment you walk in, you'll smell the aroma of peanut-oil-fried deliciousness. The cool and super random perk about Five Guys is that they give you free peanuts...yeah super RANDOM. The menu itself is pretty simple...no combos...only burgers, hot dogs, and fries. If you aren't down to gobble up a 1000+ calorie burger, then you may want to try the smaller sized, Little Burgers. I got the Hamburger with EVERYTHING ON IT (free toppings), which is about $5. They're also known for their fries, which I do admit, are better than In N Out's. You can have your choice of regular fries or cajun fries...both of which will give you a heartache for sure. And the verdict...In N Out wins by a hair. I admit that I enjoyed my lunch thoroughly, but I'll only come here if I want to pig out and eat unhealthy. I would give the edge to In N Out as it is healthier and not as expensive. I read a statistical survey somewhere saying that Five Guys attracts richer men, while In N Out feeds those who are not as baller. And I agree. read more

Meh..I still don't get it. I ordered the little cheeseburger "all the way" with A1. I think the meat patties lacked egg/flipped too soon? and the buns were too soggy. My burger was literally falling apart with each bite! By the time I finished my cheeseburger, my hands were covered in burger juice and my table was a mess. -_- I still think their menu is too expensive for a burger joint. 2 sodas and 2 burgers for roughly $15?? Come on! These burgers are not THAT gourmet! Food aside, I still gave this place an extra star more than their Stockton location because the service was great here! The staff was very enthusiastic and helpful, food came out quickly, and tables were cleaned up immediately after people got up and left. read more

So we've been meaning to try this place out because of all the hype, critiques and reviews, but was disappointed. The location is good because there are lots of parking spaces, shopping stores around the area and the spot itself is a decent size. The line was not that long or the wait for the table or food was OK. The food? Not a fan! The bread is weak- not sturdy to hold whatever you put in the burger (not even just patty, cheese, lettuce and tomato). And it wasn't just my bread-- I saw people having a hard time eating their burger and trying to make it as a whole. The patty is OK -- can be more juicier. The fries were not that great -- we ordered the Cajun style, but what it really was fries overly sprinkled with Cajun sauce. So when you take a bite, the outside layer is overly flavored, but the rest is bland.. Pro: all the sides/condiments are free and included in the base price. The soda refills are free and you get to eat free peanuts while waiting. read more
