We had an amazing dinner at Local Jones (LJs) at the Halcyon Hotel, visiting on the second night of their new menu, and they absolutely nailed it. Our party of four was impressed from start to finish. The staff was outstanding--knowledgeable, prompt, and attentive without ever hovering. It felt like they truly cared about making sure we had a great experience. The food was excellent across the board. My New York strip was cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The rest of our group loved their dishes just as much--the mussels, shepherd's pie, and braised short ribs all got rave reviews. It's not often that four totally different entrées are all home runs, but LJs pulled it off. Great service, great atmosphere, great food. We will definitely make LJs a regular stop whenever we're in Denver. Highly recommend!

Seriously, they're some of the best I've had. Crispy, juicy, and just the right balance of heat and sweet. What really keeps me coming back, though, is the people. Every visit, I've been welcomed like a regular. Chelsea behind the bar always takes great care of me, and Joe has built the kind of neighborhood place where you can tell the staff actually enjoys being there. Matt, Cookie, and Aiden have all been awesome too, and everyone else I've met has been just as friendly. It's one of those places where you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. Great food, great service, and a laid-back Denver vibe. It's become one of my favorite neighborhood spots, and I'll definitely keep coming back

We found it hard to edit the cart until checkout and I just wanted some ice but didn't want to bother the 1 person bartending. Food came out quick and we loved the warm chips and guacamole. The fish tacos were ok and the burger was ginormous and messy! The pretzel hit the spot! Ambiance gives service vibes so it was surprising that you don't get any. Sad to think the future of dining involves less people- I know sometimes it's a good thing but it did not seem to fit this restaurant- still in the hunt for our new Hornet-RIP!

We told the waitress about our previous experience regarding my boyfriend's burger being super raw and she suggested that he get his burger cut in half, which worked! It was cooked well. I got the tuna melt and it was pretty standard, but delicious regardless. The star of the show, however, had to be the appetizers. We got the wings of two flavors that the waitress recommended. I don't remember the names, but one of them had a mustard taste to it and I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend and I are obsessed with the pretzels. They are soft, warm, and go perfect with the dip so well. Cherry Cricket this time was a great experience and we would come back for the pretzels alone.

The menu is simple though when you start to think about all the ways you can have a burger, it can get overwhelming. Which was what I did and last minute I switched it to just the Vera Cruz winning burger replacing the 1/2 pound cricket burger with their bison burger. Either way it was delicious. The cherry bomb app was an amplified fried cheese stick with an amazing raspberry sauce that went great with it. Plenty of seating including a large outdoor shaded patio that's pet friendly. Service was speedy and efficient. Street parking/public parking structure nearby.

The rotisserie chicken was delicious and a great portion size definitely enough to fill me up. The apricot glaze was a really nice addition, and overall the chicken was top-notch. It comes with the warm kale panzanella. The kale itself was solid, but I wasn't particularly blown away by the croutons/panzanella portion of the dish. Still, the chicken more than made up for it. The French dip, though, was INCREDIBLE. Hillstone absolutely knocked this one out of the park. The beef was fantastic, and the whole sandwich just worked. I would highly recommend this to anyone coming here, definitely one of the standout dishes we've had. We substituted the French dip's usual side for the creamed corn, which was classic, comforting, and very yummy. A great side choice. And, as always, the cocktails were stellar. Hillstone consistently delivers on that front. Another great meal at Hillstone, and the French dip is now firmly on my list of must-order dishes.

While the host was friendly and the waitstaff was helpful, several aspects of our meal were disappointing given the strict dining guidelines and supposedly high-endish experience claimed by this restaurant. Our experience with the food was inconsistent: - Appetizers: Since the grilled artichokes were unavailable, we ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. While the dip was flavorful, the tortilla chips were a letdown; we felt toast points or focaccia would have been a better accompaniment. - Entrees: The California burger and French Dip were good, though grilling the roll for the French Dip would have improved the texture. The Emerald Kale Chicken Salad was only average, as the chicken was quite fatty. - Sushi: The Coconut Shrimp Roll was the most significant disappointment. It lacked flavor and left an unpleasant taste that even wasabi could not mask, resulting in most of it going to waste. - Sides: The french fries were excellent and the highlight of our meal. Crunchy and perfectly salted. Overall, considering the expectations set by the dining policies, the experience was underwhelming and we do not plan to return.

We were seated by the hostess who got waters for us and then had a very friendly waitress. She was very attentive as well. We started with the dip duo and grilled artichokes. The chips that came with the dips were great and dips super flavorful and very different so it was nice to have the contrast. The artichokes were grilled deliciously. I loved the charred taste. I ordered the salmon dish. I really enjoyed the salmon and my broccoli. The mashed potatoes were not my things. Lots of leeks/onions in it. We did get a side of fries instead and those were great - they tasted just like McDonald's! I can see why this restaurant is popular. Good food and great service!

‼ DON'T EVER ORDER FOOD TO GO FROM HERE!!! ‼…read more I honestly cannot believe a restaurant at this price point thinks this is acceptable. I spent over $50 on a to go order and it came with no napkins, no salad dressing, and no utensils. When I politely asked for a plastic fork because I was staying at a hotel, the employee, Sherry, repeatedly told me, "We don't provide that," and then kept saying, "I don't know what to tell you," instead of offering any kind of solution. The dismissive attitude was honestly worse than the missing items. Then I got back to my hotel and realized Sherry had handed me someone else's order. So after all of that, I didn't even have my own food. I ended up giving the meal to a homeless person and drove to Taco Bell instead. If your restaurant doesn't provide basic utensils or napkins with a takeout order, why are you even offering takeout? Even fast food restaurants understand that people ordering food to go might actually need a fork to eat it. This wasn't just about a missing fork. It was the complete lack of attention to detail, basic customer service, and then being handed the wrong order on top of it. For over $50, this was an unbelievably bad takeout experience. Save yourself the frustration and order somewhere else.

I chose the Royale with Cheese route, and couldn't have been happier with what came out of the kitchen. I spoke with the manager, Jeff, and you could sense that the quality of employees there was high across the board. He was very nice to the weird guy taking all kind of pics around the place. I didn't have room for most of them after the burger, but the fries were good too, and I had garlic aioli to dip them in. Tasty. I dropped this burger in at #10 for me all-time. It might move up after I go back and get the same thing once again. My visit was flawless, I highly recommend this place to folks, and see you there...
