My co-worker likes this place so I figured I'd give it a shot for today's lunch. Parking is a bit of drag with it sharing a lot with a Michael's and Game Crazy. And if you drive an SUV or in my case, a mini-van (hey it's a company vehicle), it can get really tight, really fast. I ordered the chicken and vegetable bowl with a drink. The total came out to under $8. The bowl was small but they offered sweetened black tea; which is rare in any restaurant. However this wasn't really a balanced trade-off in my opinion. I would have preferred a larger bowl and some sugar to sweeten my own tea. The food was good but I can't get my head around paying that much for such a small amount of food. I didn't leave hungry, but I was nowhere near full. I think I'll stick with Ho Choy on Tyler & Arlington in the future. For and extra $.50 at Ho Choy, you get double the amount of food. This place is a pit. From the minute you walk through the dirty front doors to standing behind the dirty pony wall to order from the surly counter woman (both times I've been here she has greeted me with an attitude...actually that's incorrect, the first time she was on the phone and continued her conversation while taking the order) to the dirty table and the grimy restroom doors this entire place has a layer of griminess and dirt wherever you look. Now that I've described the pleasant ambiance, on to the food. I'll be honest, I really love Flame Broiler. I think the portion sizes are great, I love the fact that there is no extra charge for brown rice, and the sauce is delicious. So, I ordered my favorite mini all beef bowl with brown rice sprinkled with green onions. Poured on the magic sauce and dug into my first bite. Crunch. Crunch? What the heck is crunching in my bowl? Well, that was a little piece of gristle. Ok, that happens once in a while, no big deal, discreetly spit it into my napkin and on to my next bite. Pretty yummy. But wait, third bite: a piece of actual bone! Ugh......ok spit out again into my hard-working napkin. Dig in again with much less gusto....OMG, another piece of gristle. Third time's a charm, though starving, I"m done. Eating dinner should not be this difficult. I head back to the counter to show the ever helpful woman the evidence of my high-quality beef bowl and she says immediately and with much gusto, "Well, do not order another beef bowl because that's how they send the beef and we can't do anything about it!" No mention of refund, no mention of gee, sorry we tried to feed you all the inedible parts of the cow, so glad you didn't chip a tooth on that piece of BONE.....just don't order it again, because you and I both know it sucks. This Flame Broiler is a horrible stain on the good name of this company and they should revoke their franchise, in my humble opinion. FLAME BROILER! I swear, I have a crazy OBSESSION for flame broiler! I am there at least twice a week, the cashiers already know my order. Not once since they opened their doors have they ever disappointed me. I always get the works bowl that comes with both chicken, beef, rice, and steamed veggies. I've tried other flame broilers, but they all taste slightly different. I'm picky when it comes to my bowls but hey, a girl knows her bowls! I wish I could give this place a 0 stars. I LOVE flame broiler, I go to the one off of River in Corona a few times a week and was so excited when they opened this one closer to me. I was quickly disappointed. The cashier is this rude Asian lady who rushes you to place your order and doesn't understand English. I told her no onions on one of them three times. I asked her for brown rice on mine and she wanted to charge me extra. Oh and they scold you if you take more than two magic sauces. Then to the food. The servings are MUCH smaller than Corona's location and the meat tastes old and the veggies over cooked and soggy. I wanted to give this place a try one more time last week and walked out. I stood in line for 15 minutes because the cashier didn't know how to take an order. Their menu is short but sweet, with options on every part of your bowl meal. I chose a mix of brown rice and veggies as my base, with half tofu and half steak as my protein. I will say, if you're not supposed to have sugar like I'm not, don't get the steak and ask for your protein with no sauce--the steak is marinated in teriyaki sauce and every protein is grilled in it unless you ask. read more

if you love teriyaki chicken, you'll love the flame broiler. It's really nothing fancy but there are days in my life, when I just want a bowl of rice with some veggies and teriyaki chicken. Obviously, I can make it myself but it is really tasty here. They offer plates and bowls if you want larger portions. And I love that they ask you if you want or don't want green onions on top. I usually don't so I appreciate them asking instead of automatically putting it on. There's also extra sauce at the end of the counter, so you can serve yourself if you want more sauce with your meal. They call it the ''secret sauce'' but its taste like teriyaki sauce to me. Service is usually fast and everything is made to order. Sometimes the chicken can be a bit charred since it's cooked on the grill. That's the only complaint I would have. read more

Now remember I eat Flame broiler often, so I was ready. I order 2 items and immediately realized that i was incorrect, and changed the order. I got a lecture from the cashier,this is what came out of her mouth , you have to tell me correctly, or we will waste food. OK., so I let her know I needed one more bowl. She was rude, no hello, no are you ready to order, and then I got in trouble. Wow!!!!! I have never experienced that kind of service at any other Flame Broiler. If I'm come into your restaurant to spend my money, If I need to change my order it should not be a problem. I dont care if your bothered, It's called customer service.
