I also got the Cauliflower "Risotto" ($4.95) and it was lemony and truly horrible. Cauliflower is a good substitute for a lot of things, but not for risotto. Wish I'd gotten the Mac & Cheese instead. I also tried the Avocado Hummus ($7), which was good, but it's a crime to charge $7 for the portion and the 4 or 5 pieces of pita we got with it. Plenty of parking. You order at the counter. When we entered, around 2:45 on a Saturday, the parking lot was packed and there was a small line at the ordering counter. The line at the counter actually moves really quickly, and we let a few people go ahead of us because I wanted time to look over the menu and make my selection. Everything sounded yummy! The restaurant has many salad and bowl options. I decided on an entree which is basically a protein and 2 sides. I ordered the grilled chicken with red Chile glazed sweet potatoes and roasted broccoli. My daughter ordered the Ginger Miso Crunch Salad. The total came to $28; which seemed very reasonable. After ordering; we were given a number so we could have a seat. They have inside dining and patio seating; however we decided to dine inside because it was in the high 90's outside. After about 5 minutes; an employee brought over our food. Mine looked delicious; however I received brown rice instead of the roasted broccoli. I mentioned it yo the staff, and I was given an additional side of broccoli after about another five minutes. I mixed in the broccoli and the meal was delicious. The chicken was done to perfection and I especially loved the seasoning on the sweet potatoes and broccoli. My daughter had never tried the Ginger Miso Crunch Salad before and she said it was really good too. She especially liked the dressing. The size of the bowl -- in comparison to the amount of food in said bowl -- through me off. But, between the risotto, salmon and the kale salad, I am pleasantly surprised. It's never going to be that simple. Intent on picking the best choice in the history of choices, she proceeded to interrogate the cashier about their "most popular sides" and "what everybody always most often gets" to go along with the entree. This is the part of the ordering where I zone out, but hope for the best. Otherwise my earthy grains will no belong to me. Thankfully, she loved all of it. Apparently the broccoli is beloved and she agreed. It's sort of smoky and apparently tastes like some other loved broccoli she had in California, yay! The Mac n cheese was a little surprising - it was VERY Parmesan-strong and I can imagine it being overwhelming/strange for some people but I actually really liked it. I wanted to check it out so I perused over the menu and didn't see much that stood out to me (not a health nut). The coconut Thai soup sounded good at $6 so I went with that. You order at the counter and pre-pay and pre-tip. Then they give you a number and you choose your table. My wife and I are big fans of Flower Child. In a nutshell, it's a great restaurant for healthy, delicious food in a casual environment with great service. They hit on all marks. I rate our experience at this location 4.5 stars rounded up to 5. Flower Child is a chain from Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts. Currently, most Flower Child locations are in Arizona and Texas. There are three Georgia locations: (1) This one in Buckhead at Shops Around Lenox, opened July 2018; (2) Sandy Springs at City Springs, opened October 2018; and (3) Westside Provisions District, opened May 2021. My first visit to any Flower Child location was the Westside location shortly after their grand opening. For that visit, I went without my wife. After experiencing the restaurant and trying the food, I knew it'd be right up her alley. I took her to this location in Buckhead. As she took her first bites of the food, she said, "This is totally my jam." Here's what we got: * Organic Kale Salad ($8.50) - pink grapefruit, organic apple, red cabbage, black currant, smoked almond, white cheddar, apple cider vinaigrette. * Mother Earth Bowl ($9.95) - ancient grains, sweet potato, portobello mushrooms, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, charred onion, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette, hemp seed * Glow Bowl ($9.95) - spicy sweet potato noodles, bok choy, zucchini, onion, jalapeno, shiitake mushroom, coconut milk, sunflower butter * The Rebel Wrap ($12.95) - grilled steak, charred onion, Port Salut cheese, arugula, horseradish yogurt Overall, the food was fresh and fantastic. I found only one dish, the Glow Bowl, to be average. The rest were excellent. Of the dishes we had above, my favorite was The Rebel Wrap. My wife liked the Organic Kale Salad, Mother Earth Bowl, and The Rebel Wrap equally. The Organic Kale Salad was addictive. My wife and I couldn't stop eating it. We love veggies and I particularly love leafy greens, so that helped. The salad was substantial. It had a lot of different textures and was very flavorful and zingy. The sweetness of the grapefruit and currant balanced the acidity of the apple cider vinaigrette. My wife liked how the almonds were crunchy and smoky. So, a lot of different flavors and textures. Complex. This was my second time having the Mother Earth Bowl. It's popular, at least among my friends. For three of them, it's their favorite or one of their favorite things to order at Flower Child. When you taste it, it's not hard to see why. For me, this bowl is comforting, filling, and flavorful with lots of umami. It's very nutritious as well (so is everything else on the menu). The Glow Bowl was our least favorite. I don't recommend it, but I don't think it's bad either. It appears to be Asian-inspired, like a stir-fried noodle bowl. The firm texture of the sweet potato noodles threw me off, but my wife liked them. The bowl definitely had some spice to it. Not listed in the ingredients on the menu (and above) was ginger, the flavor of which was quite strong. It was hard to taste the sunflower butter. The coconut milk was evident in the creaminess of the sauce. My eyes lit up when I took my first bite of The Rebel Wrap. It was a five-star wrap. Outstanding. My wife didn't like it as much as me. This was like a tender, quality steak sandwich with horseradish, wrapped in a plushy flatbread. Perfect textures and flavors, in my opinion. The soft cheese and the creamy horseradish yogurt helped to make every bite rich and delectable. The flatbread was super tasty too. The dishes above should give you a general idea of what Flower Child has to offer including pricing. Along with salads, bowls, and wraps, the restaurant offers entrees consisting of a protein and two sides. Proteins include chicken, steak, salmon, shrimp, and tofu. Expect to spend $13-16 each for most entrees. In addition, Flower Child offers daily soups, small apps/snacks, a kids menu, and family packs that are customizable. Everything is made from scratch. Get the Flower Child app and earn rewards. For example, for every dollar you spend at Flower Child, you earn 2 points. You get $5 for every 140 points you earn. So basically, if you spend $70 at Flower Child, you get a $5 reward. Inside and out, the restaurant is beautiful. The uncovered patio is similar to a European-style patio, al fresco. String-lit, umbrellas, striped awning, tree, plants, a nice ambiance. Inside, the dining room is spacious, colorful, and hip. You order at the front at one of two registers. If dining in, you take a number and grab your own drinks (fountain), eating utensils, napkins, and condiments. Online orders are bagged and placed on pickup shelves just inside the entrance. The interior also has an open kitchen and two unisex restrooms. During our Thursday evening visit, there was ample free parking directly in front of the restaurant. A friend took me shopping in the Lenox area, and we stopped into Flower Child to grab lunch. I had been wanting to try it, so I'm so glad we did! I was a little overwhelmed with how many items on the menu sounded amazing, and I had a hard time deciding. All of the sides sounded so good, so I just went with three sides: roasted broccoli with parmesan, smashed gold potatoes, and gluten free mac and cheese. Let me tell you, all three were bomb! 2 years later we went back to Flower Child for another wonderful lunch experience. Once again the staff was incredibly eager to work around my wife's dietary limitations: since all of their proteins are marinated ahead of time with onion and/or garlic, the chef/manager grilled an unmarinated chicken breast for her. This could easily have resulted in a dry, unflavorful piece of chicken, but she said it was amazingly good! It was accompanied by the maple glazed squash w/o the dates and sweet potato fries w/o Ranch dressing. This Flower Child location is located at Shops Around Lenox. The free parking lot may bet full depending on the day and time that you visit, so be prepared for that. I ordered the steak entree with the spicy Japanese eggplant and the sweet potato sides because I feel this has a couple of the boldest flavors on the menu. The steak was cooked to a medium doneness, and I wish Flower Child allowed an option for some type of bold marinade or spice to be added to the steak. Anyhow, this meal was delicious the way it was. A suggestion for management here: Every time there is a line of people at the counter waiting to order, open up all the registers to get the people out of the entrance area as quickly as possible. This was my first time and I was so impressed! The location was super busy at lunch time on a Tuesday but the line was quick and the food came out fast. I ordered the grilled shrimp entree with Mac and cheese and sauteed eggplant. The shrimp was cooked well and very flavorful. The Mac and cheese was different with it's rotini shells and light sauce but tons of sharp flavor, yum! The eggplant was my healthy choice to balance the pasta but next time I would go with the broccoli suggestion. The green juice at the register was delicious and at $7 a better price than expected. This is apparently paradise for vegetarians. I went here with a group of 8, and several of them really liked it. I did taste the mac and cheese, which is excellent, and I'm sure many people would appreciate that it's gluten free. I would have ordered the chicken thigh meal, but it came in a spicy sauce. I ordered steak, which was medium rare, and there was nothing wrong with it, but nothing exceptional either. I was dis disappointed with the asparagus, which was mostly cabbage, with a small amount of asparagus, which was charred, and honestly, if you love asparagus, it isn't improved by being burnt.
