We come to Flower child nearly once a week. This is a solid place. They offer a good variety of clean food options that meet everyone's needs. I love the price to value; to be honest. I can't even say what is my favorite dish here as nearly everything they make is a slam dunk. My daughter loves the salmon kids meal with the Mac and cheese. I consistently get a salad or the Mother Earth bowl. If I'm feeling like I get a cheat day, the enchiladas are wonderful as is the stir fry noodles. The Cheesecake Factory bought out the Fox Restaurant chain a couple of years ago. So far the vibe is pretty much the same. I was afraid it would get a corporate-feel but it didn't. Their family meals are a really good value. I get the family meal for take-out and then eat it for 4-5 days in a row. It's actually pretty economical to do that. I love their salmon, portions have gotten a little smaller over the past year or so, but still, hands down the best salmon anywhere. Even my friend that doesn't like salmon likes it. I want to like Flower Child so much more than I actually do, but their food is just so hit or miss for me. The family pack is worth it and they have a slammin' restaurant week deal, but at standard prices, the food is just not quite worth it. The avocado hummus is really smooth and yummy, and I really like the pita that it comes with. They do steak and salmon really well, even for takeout. Some of the sides are really good: the quinoa in particular is delicious, the yuzu Brussels sprouts, and the chile glazed sweet potato. I really hate to write this review, as we love Flower Child, which we know exclusively through this convenient location, but last night (March 10, 2024) was a sad exception. We usually pick up our lunch or dinner - usually lunch - order because it is very close to home. So, yesterday, having just returned from a trip, we ordered two entrees for dinner to be picked up. About the time I was going to leave for the restaurant, I received a call from someone at Flower Child who said my wife's dinner - chicken enchiladas - was not available. Did I want a refund (well, obviously no!) or something else. She ordered forbidden rice bowl with tofu. The FC employee stated it would all be ready in 10 minutes. When I got home with the food, we found my BBQ chicken wrap and my wife's (stone cold, tasteless) enchiladas, not the forbidden rice bowl. Both dinners were of such poor quality, I'm not sure whether we will return. That will be too bad, as we usually find the quality well above average and appreciate the healthy choices. You can't go wrong with a Fox Concept restaurant. It's a cute spot for lunch. You order before sitting down so it's a pretty straight forward dining-in concept. There are plenty of space inside (with social distancing) and some tables on their patio area. Their menu offers a lot of healthy and unique choices (bowls, salads, sandwiches, etc). I ordered the Vegan Ingredient salad with salmon and it didn't take long to get my order at all. The salad was very good and the salmon was cooked beautifully. I ordered this yesterday so I could eat it at home. I just heated it up and looked at it and it's one chunk of meat with a couple pieces of shred. There's the tiniest amount of potatoes only a couple carrots no celery. This thing is the smallest meal and I spent $16 for it. Shame on this company this has been happening more and more where the food is just so small of portions but they're charging so much money.this is pathetic. Their menu offers so much and it is on the healthier side which makes you feel better as well. My go-to is usually the avocado caesar with salmon, I love this dressing it is citrusy and so refreshing, especially on these hot days. They will tell you 15 and when you arrive you need to wait another 15-20 at a minimum, I don't think they start the order until you keep asking if it's almost ready. 10/22/2020 We were actually looking for the post office when we stumbled upon this place. The signage is what drew us in. The staff was nice and personable. I ordered a lemonade and a cookie while my wife ordered a Glow Bowl which she loved. The cookie was soft but the coconut was not my vibe, while the lemonade was strong it was very good. My husband ordered the teriyaki shrimp and avocado bowl, which he enjoyed. I found it to be too sweet. We shared the avocado toast and it was pretty good. The avocado was nice and creamy. Everything was fresh and well made. If I lived in AZ I'd come back to eat the dish I had again. I also tried a spoonful of my sister's GF Mac & Cheese - it was really rich and descant! My main two issues with the place: 1. not all the cooks where wearing a mask (they have an open kitchen, you can see them cooking). 2. many of their dishes had mushrooms (I loathe them), so that limited what I could order there. We ordered a chicken plate with brussel sprouts, and heirloom carrots, a mother earth bowl, and a raw veggies plate with hummus to share. We sat outside under the string lights and it was a cute environment and the weather was perfect. Our food was brought to us shortly after we ordered and everything was delicious. I placed a pick up order at 810pm and received a ready time of 830. I picked up the order and happened to check the fries (yeah I was gonna munch some on my way home) glad I did because they were stone cold. Not just Luke warm but less than room temperature cold. So I head back in and ask for replacements, not mad, but excited for tasty fries. I was told that they were out of fries, translation is "we not bothering making any more tonight " delivered with not a unreadable amount of attitude. They did offer something else but at this point I did not want to wait, that's why I ordered ahead in the first place, and I did not want the other options. I asked kindly if I could just have a refund? They did confirm that was possible, so that's cool, but the employee didn't do anything so I asked "do I get a receipt?" She responded that she could give me a copy of the original receipt. While my only con is the price point for a family to eat here - an easy $60+ for 4, I consistently find myself excited to coming back. My staple is the Mother Earth bowl which is an amazing assortment of superfoods that is filled with flavor. Sometimes I opt to add tofu or steak, but the majority of the time I go without any meat. The corn and quinoa side is another outstanding must, as are most of the other sides. A few other tasty items are the steak wrap and the ramen (with an egg, of course).
