The food is ok but honestly it's just too crowded and rushed. Half the time you are trying to flag a server down because they have a meat you want and the other half of the time there is a non stop stream of servers trying to offload less desireable cuts onto your plate. You are basically paying a fine dining (or near fine dining) price for a very non fine dining experience. read more

Had an excellent experience at Fogo de Chão. The service truly made the night. Meat servers Mauro and Jaime were outstanding--friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of what they do. They checked in at the perfect times and made sure we got exactly what we wanted, cooked perfectly. Our table servers Nick and Kelsey were just as great--professional, welcoming, and on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. Water was always full, plates cleared quickly, and they genuinely cared about our experience. This was the kind of service that elevates the entire meal. Food is always 10/10 Bar service 1/5. Bar staff is clueless when it comes to customer service. They don't pay attention. We went to eat 8/17 we never met our waiter "Thomas " as it said on the receipt because our first waiter said there was a shift change and someone new will be taking care of us. The Hispanic guy with the 8ball tattoo served our food and that's it. We ate and waited to pay . The manager just looked at us and never acknowledged us if we are ready to pay. Again clueless as a leader . Train the staff better. Train them to be more attentive. Do better Fogo and management. People pay good money to have a great experience and as you can see on yelp and google reviews many hard working customers are getting crap service. read more

My husband and I went into Fogo for lunch. We had just received some good news regarding a health matter, and wanted to celebrate. Once seated, we were greeted by our server Dominique who was absolutely lovely right from the start. Dominique asked if we were celebrating anything, and I informed her we were, while simultaneously bursting into tears about the good news. Dominique was beyond compassionate/kind/graceful, and made my husband and I feel like family. She gave positive affirmations, and took our experience from great/to excellent. She went above and beyond in everything she did and even brought us a lovely dessert to congratulate us on the news. Good steakhouses in Pasadena are a dime a dozen.... But coming to Fogo is special. We truly felt like family and we are so grateful for the experience . With full belly's, and bloodshot eyes from all the crying, we just want to say thank you to Dominique and all of the Fogo servers/staff alike, for making our experience so special. Our dinner at Fogo de Chão was fantastic, and Emelyn was the real MVP of the evening. She checked in with us so perfectly that we started joking she had psychic powers. The moment someone said "I might want more mashed potatoes," she was already walking over with them. Her sense of humor made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun, which is impressive considering we were slowly entering a steak-induced food coma. Emelyn kept everything organized, made sure drinks were always full, and guided us through the experience like a friendly barbecue tour guide. Honestly, she deserves a medal for managing our table's meat enthusiasm! read more

Came here for my 40th bday and Kelsey was lovely. She was so friendly and kept dropping by to make sure we got everything we wanted (her and the manager even asked us multiple times if there were any cuts of meat we'd like sent our way and the couple of times we asked, they were there in under a minute!). Updating my 2 start to 3 stars. So the manager reached out to me after my 2 star review and told the 3 of us to come back for free to redo our experience (not inclusing alcohol which is to be expected). We did end up making a reservation September 28th. We were seated promptly and everyone was very nice. I told them about the email. They were happy to help. Our server was very sweet! She recommended a good red wine since we were getting a bottle. The wine was good, the service started out amazing, the meats were arriving very consistently and varied cuts. Then halfway through the night the service slowed, then we kept getting the same cuts of meat again, and then they served us legit well done meat when we asked for medium rare! It was basically inedible. Dessert wad included so we split a cheesecake at the table and we asked for the other 2 Togo. One was a Tres leches cake and another cheesecake. But they brought out a Tres leches and a chocolate after we had already paid and we're ready to leave. So I did tell the server on the way out that she gave us the item. She just said sorry. When we were trying to pay and they were trying to charge us for a full service. So I again showed the email from the manager with the confirmation number to use and they. Then they came back and all was comped except our wine which was to be expected. We paid for that and Tipped based off of what the original bill would be 20%. Overall, all 3 of us will not be coming back again. There is too much inconsistency between the service, the over cooked meats, the repeated same meats, and order mess ups. Sad because it's so close to me and it used to be so good. Not worth it. read more

5-Star posh decor and ambience (former bank building?) 3-Star food for me because the meats were either too dry or too fatty (picanha), and everything on the salad bar was ice cold and tasted mediocre (impressive colorful display but have you heard the old saying "All that glitter is not gold"?) Visited for the first time on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Public parking conveniently right next door if you wish to opt out of $20 valet. As soon as we sat, our waitress immediately changed. We were not served for a while, until Jennifer approached us asking if we needed anything. She was attentive, kind, and accommodating. She brought our complimentary fries, mashed potatoes and friend bananas. The food was delicious, and kept coming out. The first few items which came out were all wrapped in bacon, a but much for my taste. Heavy crowds were also taking through the salad bar. The restaurant itself is nicely maintained and clean. This is my favorite Fogo to come to! Beautiful dining room in Old Town Pasadena. Celebrated my mom's birthday this evening and we loved everything. I'll start with the highlight of our night, our waitress she just moved from San Diego. She was amazing, beyond attentive and friendly. Her customer service and the way she tried to go out her way to have us be served meat that wasn't rare was appreciated. We had a reservation and were seated right away. Not sure if it had to do with where we were seated but food barely made it out on the side we were in. The food that did make it out to our side was extremely rare. It was a busy night and we understand the need to rush to get cuts out, but at some point it seemed like they weren't even cooking the meat. There seemed to be a lot of management out on the floor more concerned with micromanaging the waiters and waitresses, they could've used that energy into noticing how raw the meats were coming out. We did ask our waitresses if we could get something more on the medium well side and she did make it happen for two different cuts but at this point we had been here for almost 2 hours. This seems to be an issue in all their locations. They did have music playing in the background, could've been a little louder to make our time waiting go by faster. read more

Terrible Mother's Day Experience - Will Not Return I made a reservation at Fogo de Chão in Pasadena for Mother's Day expecting a smooth experience--after all, that's why people make reservations. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We were told upon arrival that there would be an hour wait despite our reservation, because they had overbooked. That alone was frustrating, but it only got worse. We chose this location based on the churrasco experience and pricing advertised online. Once seated, we were shocked to find the price was $20 more per person because it was a holiday. When I asked the host about the price discrepancy, she flatly told me, "Because it's Mother's Day, the online price doesn't apply." No heads-up, no signage, no notice--just a surprise bill. The hosts seemed visibly irritated and overwhelmed, acting like they didn't want to be there. The energy at the front was cold and chaotic. Once we were seated, we were offered only three pieces of meat total for our entire group (there were four of us), and only after we had nearly finished our salad plates. We could see servers walking around with food but they continually bypassed our table. We eventually had to ask our waitress--who also appeared annoyed and uninterested--if someone could actually bring us some meat. In the end, we paid over $400 for a disorganized, underwhelming, and frankly rude experience. I've been to Fogo before and had a great time, but this location (and this visit) completely soured it for me. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend it--especially not for a special occasion. read more

Came here solely for the happy hour items :0) You have to sit at the bar if you only do Happy Hour. Thankfully we came early at 5pm and were able to secure seats (they get really uncomfortable after an hour cause the back rests suck). It's beautiful inside! It kinda gave me Vegas vibes or fancy bank vibes. Their fried cheese appetizer with honey was soooo delicious and paired amazingly well! All the other appetizers were so so to me (the chicken tasted awful in my opinion). I loved their cheese bread. I was super disappointed by their empanada cause it was over toasted and cut my mouth. I loved their strawberry cocktail though! The bartender apologized for how long the food took and said she would take 2 items off of our receipt but then she later changed her mind and only gave free dessert (which their options weren't that great and I was full but my friend wanted it). Parking at paseo ended up being $9 (more than a happy hour dish!) after staying for close to 3 hours. I hate parking in Pasadena. I would come back for their normal food cause their Brazilian street corn looked amaaaazing! read more

If you're a meat lover, Fogo de Chão is the kind of dining experience you won't soon forget! It was my first time there and the staff was so friendly and took the time to explain what the all-you-can-eat feast offers. Before my fiancé and I knew it, we were greeted by non-stop servers filling out plates and our bellies with a melt-in-your-mouth experience with every bite. The last time I went to Fogo was Baltimore like 17/18 years ago. It was early Christmas present night for my hubs we we're going to The Pasadena Civic Auditorium to see David Sedaris and I took him here for dinner first. Beautiful dining room and salad buffet. Service was 10/10. The guest service representatives in addition to our servers and gauchos did a great job. We felt very welcomed and taken care of. My favorite meats were the beef rib, pork belly, sausage, bone in pork chop. The salad bar is so yummy too. The Brazilians know their meat and potatoes. They sent the brûlée after the check and it was perfection. Can't wait for another special occasion! read more

Worst place ever my daughter went Friday with all her friends she said the service was horrible the waitress was there worst but she did likes the food. I've went Saturday in a date it was there worst day ever we had reservation at 8.30 every 15 min I Kris asking TWO RUDE HOST in the front by 9:15 finally saw a manger and I told him we been waiting 45 min since our reservation he said ok let tell the host to say you 20min later nothing he sees us and ask not yet I told him nope still waiting finally they seat us after 1hr n half later from our reservations we had lost our appetite since we where upset and by the time they gave us a table it was 10.15pm I like my meat well done they said they don't do it like that only Med rare worst dinner ever from the service to the food I been wanting to go since they open and they disappointed me read more

I come here often and my last visit for my birthday was incredibly disappointing. I have always had great experiences here. This visit was more than disappointing. The whole time they kept bringing out the same chicken and meat. We asked over 10 times to bring out filet or ribeye which are items on the menu we ordered. After asking 10 times and never getting anything, I spoke to the customer manager who half listened to me and disappeared. We eventually did get some filet and ribeye but after 10 times and speaking to a manager who didn't listen, I was as done. Our waiter disappeared as well after about 30 minutes. The entire dinner was a disaster and I would expect speaking to a manager would help but I guess not. I don't want anything for free and just wanted some filet and ribeye. After this, I doubt I will be coming back. It's inexcusable to speak to a manager who literally walks away as you are speaking to him and never offers any solution or feedback to your problems. I should have gone to Ruth's Chris. read more

Are you searching for almost authentic comida de Portenos. A non-stop flight to Buenas Aires (about…read more12 hours) and you could be digging into your perfect Parrillada at Estilo Campo. Definitely worth the hassle. Or you could endure a 2 hour slog up the 5 Fwy (which makes the 12 hour flight sound good) and enjoy excellent Argentine cuisine here. Then when you get there, parking is not just a challenge, it's a mystery. Street parking only so prepare to be creative and lucky. The vintage building is attractive. Pitted carved concrete and Malibu tiles. Step inside and be greeted by a genuine warm smile and and someone that is happy to see you, and if your luck is holding the Host will invite you to a take a short shuffle to a huge booth where you can make a comfy nest. The Decor is a charcoal gray box with a dining room filled with 2 and 4 tops, a communal table or two, a private dining room and a curbside patio if you insist. Malbec is a perfect place to celebrate a Quinceanera, a non-Kosher Bar Mitzvah, a Golden Shower Retirement, a Gender Reveal, a Gender Conceal or that your substandard Insurance Co. will actually pay for your GPL-1 meds which you might need after over eating great food here. The patio outside is good if the tango loop inside is too loud, but then you're just trading that for unmuffled mufflers and exhaust fumes. At 5:00 PM it's just you and the Chorizo Sampler which is worth it's weight in Statins. The place reinvents itself by 8:00 PM when the chatter ratchets up and the dining room becomes a B. A. Social Club. The din of diners bounces around the room like a soccer ball at a Fifa Match. (Argentina is the reigning champion). The Staff: Rosa is delightful. A girl that never says no and someone who knows how to pull up the reins and spur the pony (read take charge and enhance your experience). The Bar: This long counter anchors the room and delivers what ever your poison might be. The Food: Malbec boasts a huge menu and all of it is good to great. Within minutes of settling in a Runner runs up to your table and sets down a basket of warm Bread with a cup of Chimichurri Sauce to dunk dip, drag and/on dredge your Bread in. The Malbec Salad was large enough to feed everyone in the Recoleta at sundown. Fresh Romaine, Radicchio, Goat Cheese crumbles, a hand carved Avocado fan (I'm a big fan of that), quartered Cucumber Coins, Frisee Lettuce, a sizable slice of toasted Bread, the large mound is mixed with a Caesar-ish Dressing and the whole pile is fresh, refreshing, tasty and a great dish to begin your dinner with. The menu is ambitious to say the least. Heroic lists of Appetizers, Pastas, Pizza, Mains, Seafood, Steaks, Sides, Sauces and Desserts. The Kitchen is fearless because they know they can crank out everything on the menu properly. And you know, they can. I opted for Pollo Las Hierbas (Herb Roasted Chicken), spatchcocked (back cone removed and the whole half Chicken squashed flat for quick and easy grilling). Did I mention that the portions are substantial? They are. The Chicken begins it's journey soaking in Lemon and Herbs. For an additional $2 you can bury the whole bird with Diabla Sauce. (read Spicy Chili Gravy). This Sauce would be delicious over julienned Gym Socks or Dust Bunnies. The welcome heat is delicious even if you're timid with spice. The Chicken arrives tender but with crisp edges, juicy and tasting like Chicken could and should taste. While the Chicken was definitely marinated it's hard to determine if it was brined first. No matter as it was spot on great. The Chicken Chef was not chicken and got it right. The Sauteed Spinach retained it's Spinach integrity and was fished out of the water while still slightly toothy. Excellent. The Kitchen elevated Spinach beyond Pop-Eye's power surge urge. This was beyond just a Side Dish. Vegans, have at it. The Roasted Potatoes were also good enough to enjoy as a Main. Really crunchy nuggets with creamy centers. This place not only offers fine comida de la gente, the restaurant is efficient but doesn't rush. Want to enjoy sobremesa? (relaxing time after dinner to discuss politics, religion, sex and gossip about the people you've just dined with). Sobremesa (literally means around the table) is a charming and civilized concept. Spanish culture doesn't like to hurry. So share the sad, glad, mad personal issues that go best after Dessert. Malbec, prings back sweet memories of a morning Cortado and a Media Luna at Oriente Coffee Bar. Malbe, I'll be back.

Houston's is usually one of my favorite restaurants because of its consistently great food and service. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark. I hope they address the gnat issue and return to the high standards that have always made this restaurant a favorite.

Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! My recent visit to Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse on April 20, 2024, was nothing short of a calamity, tarnishing what was meant to be a celebratory occasion in honor of my twin cousin's birthday. From the moment of arrival to the bitter end, the experience was riddled with incompetence, rudeness, and disappointment. Upon arriving at the restaurant for our reserved table of four, the staff seemed utterly befuddled by our reservation, as if it had vanished into thin air. This initial blunder set the stage for a series of unfortunate events that followed. As we waited at the bar for our table to be prepared, hoping to commence the festivities, we were met with blatant rudeness from a member of the bar staff, particularly a woman whose demeanor bordered on contemptuous. It was an inauspicious start to what should have been a joyous affair. Once finally seated, our spirits were momentarily lifted by a server who took the time to explain the menu and address our inquiries with patience and professionalism. Regrettably, any semblance of satisfaction was short-lived. We were enticed by a purported "deal" offering four dinner plates each for $69.50, with the promise of two plates free if we indulged in the Wagyu Ribeye for $165.00. The allure of this offer quickly evaporated as the evening unfolded. Despite assurances from our server regarding the accompanying sides--garlic mashed potatoes, polenta, caramelized bananas, and warm pão de queijo--these tantalizing additions never materialized. Furthermore, confusion regarding the dining process, supposedly indicated by coaster signaling, led to a premature presentation of the main course, disrupting the flow of our meal. To compound matters, a server abruptly began cooking the Wagyu before we were ready, disregarding our requests to wait, and throwing us off balance. Despite voicing our concerns, the server's response amounted to a mere apology, offering no resolution to the disruption. As the evening wore on, the litany of mishaps continued to mount. Delays in receiving our drinks, the absence of ordered sides, and baffling inconsistencies in dessert offerings--all underscored by the absence of the promised crème brûlée--served only to exacerbate our frustration. We had a reservation for a large party of 15 at 8:00 PM, booked over 60 days in advance. While I understand it was a busy Friday night during graduation month, the level of service and the condition of the restaurant were unacceptable. Several issues immediately stood out: * The restrooms were in a state of disrepair and uncleanliness. One stall had no lighting and was very dirty, with no toilet paper or seat covers available. This suggests a lack of attention from management regarding basic maintenance and guest comfort. * The salad bar was consistently empty and not adequately replenished, despite the $74 price point for the churrasco experience. Many advertised items, including cheeses and various salads, were unavailable. * The advertised $54 basic meat option for California areas was not readily offered. We had to inquire specifically and were then informed that our entire party was required to select the $74 option. Even with this more expensive choice, the meat service to our private room was infrequent, and the team showed little attention to offering a variety of cuts. * Online happy hour drinks were advertised but not offered at the restaurant. * Our waiter changed multiple times, particularly when the bill was presented. We intended to pay with three cards and cash, but half of the cash was incorrectly applied to other tables' drink charges, leading to confusion. * The manager who addressed our concerns did not offer a sincere apology and displayed a dismissive attitude. I've been to multiple Fogo de Chao locations in the SoCal area, and am usually impressed with the service and food quality. However, this location clearly failed to deliver. I made a reservation for 7:30PM on 2/14, expecting to be seated within 15-20 minutes of checking in at the same time. To my surprise, there were dozens of customers waiting for their own reservations to be seated despite checking in on-time. The hostess at the front had to deal with many upset customers questioning the wait. She told me that despite my reservation, it would be about an hour's wait. After another mishap in which my party was given an occupied table, we were finally seated around 8:45PM. This location's ambiance was decent, although the tables were packed very closely together. Some tables had freestanding couch set-ups which was an interesting decor choice. My server was great: responsive, communicative, and experienced. We started with the salad bar as usual; standard fare for a Fogo location, and no complaints there. However, the meats were very slow to come out and frequently overcooked. While in my experience, Fogo tends to be slightly over on the salt/seasoning (which I'm used to and expect), the seasoning varied wildly this night from highly oversalted to barely seasoned at all. The mashed potatoes were over-peppered as well. For the premium price you're paying, the service was not acceptable. I will say, this is not the fault of any of the waitstaff or servers who did their best to navigate a tough situation. Rather, management needs to take a serious look at their own standards for running a restaurant. They were clearly overbooked, understaffed, and grossly unprepared for one of the most important nights of the year in the service world. read more

We were seated fairly quickly despite arriving without a reservation, which was a great start. Our server, Samantha, was lovely and attentive. However, when it came to fulfilling requests like getting bread (since none was provided at the table) or bringing out a mocktail, there was a considerable delay. It almost felt like our requests weren't acted on until we had to ask Samantha for further assistance. Once we followed up, she handled it reasonably well. The biggest issue we faced was with the meat offerings. Nearly all the cuts served to our table were rare to medium-rare, which isn't our preference. While we understand that this may be the preference of most guests, we made multiple requests to have some of the meats prepared medium to medium-well. Unfortunately, our requests were never fulfilled. By this time, the average wait between servings felt like 15-20 minutes, and we ended up spending more than two hours at the restaurant. Our expectations for Fogo de Chão were high, as we often visit the Beverly location where the meat is always cooked to our liking, and the service is top-notch. This experience, however, left both myself and my mother (whom I brought for the first time) quite disappointed. The supervisor on duty tried to make it right by charging us the market table price and offering complimentary dessert. However, by that point, we didn't feel like having dessert because our stomachs were already unsettled from the undercooked meat. While the discount was appreciated, it felt like a hollow gesture given that we left most of our food uneaten. When I asked questions, she wasn't able to give clear answers, and I eventually had to ask for a supervisor to explain. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the staff couldn't even provide me with a name and simply told me the manager was "busy somewhere." That lack of accountability and professionalism only added to the frustration. We asked for additional orders multiple times, yet our server failed to bring them to the table. It wasn't just once--it happened a couple of times, and our requests were simply ignored. That kind of service is unacceptable. Throughout the meal, the gauchos frequently had difficulty identifying the doneness of the cuts they were serving. Several cuts advertised as medium-rare arrived much closer to medium-well or well-done, which was disappointing for a restaurant known for its churrasco experience. Additionally, many of the premium cuts we were looking forward to rarely made it to our table. We found ourselves repeatedly requesting specific meats, and even then, there were long gaps before they appeared. At a premium price point, guests shouldn't have to continuously ask for the signature cuts that are part of the experience. That said, when the meats were prepared correctly, the flavor was excellent. The picanha and lamb were particularly enjoyable, showcasing the quality that Fogo de Chão is known for. When we requested something, it took ages for her to respond. The final one came when we asked for the bill. After a considerable wait, we discovered Bella went on her break without informing us. It was only when my daughter investigated that we realized she had left us hanging. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially for a party of ten. To make matters worse, when my daughter brought up our complaint to someone who appeared to be a manager, there was no real resolution offered.
