I love going to Fujiya for sushi because the staff over there always makes me feel welcomed and never hesitate to check in and make sure if everything is good. I want to specifically mention one of the servers, Max, because he is just awesome. He always makes sure we get everything that we ordered and he does it very effectively. He is an amazing person and is very good at what he does. Max is always helpful and has good energy around him and it makes us feel good being there. Another server I want to mention is Michael, he is also on top of making sure you are being taken care of. He always provides positive energy when talking and is very helpful when choosing what to order in case we are having trouble deciding. Extremely poor experience - we ended up dining here because the wait time at the nearby sushi spots were too long. We arrived at around 9:15pm and the restaurant was already half empty but for some reason, 2 rolls took 35mins to arrive, and the last roll took OVER 45mins to arrive. Since it was nowhere near peak hour, I find it hard to believe that a roll takes that long to prepare. Different servers came to check on us regularly but The rolls themselves were just okay. After expressing our dissatisfaction, our server offered to "work something out" such as removing the charge of the last roll. But when we got the check, we found that she didn't do any of that. I had the worst experience at this place. I came here with my partner and it was the biggest mistake. Our first roll arrived while we were still waiting for the appetizer. There was an obnoxious party next to us that showed up after us and they got their food first. The manager, Max, was getting drunk with them. I guess taking shots with your customers is acceptable. The servers were too busy to even bother with our table. Then I saw another server take shots. By the time we got our food, we were basically waiting for the other person to finish. We waited for our final plate and it never showed until I asked the busser to find out because the other servers wouldn't even stop by our table. Eventually when it arrived I asked for a box. Then I could over hear how the waiter was complaining at the computer station about how he was quitting that night. This management is a joke and extremely unprofessional. I would come back and try some of their other dishes. Food: 3 stars We got gyoza, two sushi rolls, and a curry rice plate. The gyoza and sushi were good and satisfied us. The two rolls we got were tasty and I would try their other sushi rolls if I get the chance to come back. The curry rice plate on the other hand was disappointing. Unfortunately, the pork cutlet was pretty dry and overdone so it took a lot of chewing to eat it. The curry that it came with was just okay. Stopped by for a late lunch the other day because the decor caught my eye. Loved the ambiance. The busboy had just finished wiping down the booth I guess because it was damp when I sat down. The food was amazing! Parking might be tough be we got lucky and got a stall right in front of the restaurant. The service was great and food came out quickly. We definitely over ordered because we weren't sure how big the dishes were. Thankfully our hotel has a fridge and microwave so we had leftovers for breakfast the next day. The decor was vivid, super colorful that reminded me of a Japanese strip club in 1970s. Super slow service, but I also saw a shortage of servers. I saw only two servers. It explains why the service was so slow, and it's probably not fair to blame them. I want a hot dish to be hot, and a cold dish to be cold. Room temperature sashimi, cold baked appetizers, and mushy rice... those don't do any good for me. My first time and last time here. 1 Star. read more

Three stars for a reason. This has been our go to sushi place in Burbank for the last year. Usually everything is great quality and the staff is super friendly. Tonight, quality was so below anything that should have been put out that they should have just refused the order. I'm not going to take the time to discuss the quality of each item as I'm hoping tonight was just an off night. Unfortunately for us, while we usually pick up our own order, tonight we used one of the meal delivery services (issue wasn't with service so leaving name out). Here is the problem. When you are a loyal customer who calls to complain about a meal being so far below what you are used to from the location, you don't want to hear "there is nothing we can do, you'll have to deal with the (meal deliverer)." Wrong! There was something you could have done and you did not! There are enough sushi places in the neighborhood. I can have a great meal and never go back to a place because of service. I can have a horrible meal and return because the service was so thoughtful. Fujiya please don't patronize me with an apologetic reply to this. Accountability stops with you, not the meal delivery service. Hopefully you can use this advice to keep other customers satisfied. You did lose us for good. read more

The food is excellent. It's frustrating that the business is not accessible for people with disabilities. The stair lift has been broken for several years and according to the staff the owner of the building or building management keeps saying that they are working on fixing it. Well it has been a glacial progress on that. The wheelchair lift has been used as storage for high chairs and other things for years. Please do better. read more

BEST. SUSHI. EVER!!!!!! Food: First, prices here are very reasonable, less expensive than most sushi places I've been to. Second, the sushi here is fresh & high in quality. They give generous portions here & aren't stingy with the fish. I would recommend sharing some of these rolls. On top on of the generous portions the food here is packed with flavors. I couldn't get over how tasty each rolls was. I like that the rolls here are unique & that there are so many to choose from. Today, I ordered the salmon sushi(2pieces), Spicy Tataki Roll, Albacore Crunch Roll, Forbidden Roll, Alaskan Roll, Super Tiger Roll, & an Arnold Palmer. Honestly all of these rolls were 10/10 but if I had to choose my favorite roll it would be the Alaskan Roll this roll had crazy good flavors goin on. I'd easily order all of these rolls again. Atmosphere/Service: they are currently doing outdoor seating & following all Covid guidelines. My only complaint was how hot it was they should really considering setting up some outdoor fans. Came upon this spot while doin some shopping and we loved it. Nice covered area in front for outdoor dining. It was pretty busy and steady but we were seated quickly and taken care of attentively. Menu is basic but one thing that we noticed was there were no pictures showing the rolls and what they look like. It's one thing we've grown accustomed to with other spots. It was tough ordering what we thought we'd like since we couldn't see the way it was constructed. Overall we loved everything we got. The sushi we ordered which was yellowtail and albacore was fresh and quality cuts. The couple rolls we ordered were also presented very masterfully and tasted amazing. The spicy tuna crispy rice was amazing. Nice crunch on the rice but not overly cooked and the tuna was spiced just right. The service was top notch and attentive and overall a great experience.
