    coconut curry lemongrass pho

Can you believe you can get a pho with beef, chicken, or pork for just $14.50 on the Lower East Side?! Their noodle soup is highly customizable: first, choose your base: beef, chicken, or vegan pho, spicy lemongrass, or coconut curry; then select your protein: sliced rare eye round, beef brisket, grilled pork, grilled chicken, or vegetables. You can even add roasted bone marrow for just $6 more! They offer two sizes: $14.50 for a small and $16.50 for a medium. Personally, I found the small size more than enough. It's generously packed with noodles and meat. My friend thought the medium might still be on the smaller side for those with a bigger appetite. *Coconut Curry Lemongrass Pho $14.50 I chose the coconut curry lemongrass soup, which was the most recommended base in online reviews. It was quite spicy, but I ended up drinking a lot of the broth. Yet I did notice some dryness on my tongue afterward, which made me wonder if it contained MSG. For the protein, I got a mix of rare eye round and brisket. I preferred the rare eye round, as it was more tender.

Really yummy (but weak) cocktails. Food was mid for how packed it was. Prices are decent for the area. Didn't like my shrimp and chicken spring rolls. The pork belly bun had a fat piece of pork but it didn't taste like anything and was mainly fat. Bone marrow w the tuna was good, not great. Got the spicy coconut pho w brisket which was supposed to be amazing but it was just good. Way too much oil. Added the bone marrow which was a cool touch but kinda unnecessary and rlly just tasted like mushroom in the shape/ texture of fat. Didn't quite make sense w the soup.

Came in for a pre-game drink to hang out before dinner and drinks with a friend at another place. While the happy hour wasn't listed anywhere on the menu, if you asked them about it, they said it was $2 off drinks. On a Friday around 5, it wasnt too busy yet, with only 3 tables, including mine, seated. I nursed a drink for an hour and they seemed fine with it. I even took out a book to study. I got the namesake, Ginger and Lemongrass, and it was amazingly gingery. They even came over to me for last call. The food looks good and I would definitely come back to try it.

The service was great. Servers were attentive and they kept refilling my water without me asking. Ambiance of the place is adorable. I went with my cousin and we both admired how cute the place was. The pho was okay, wasn't a huge fan of the brisket. I come back to possibly try something else because of how nice the staff was.

This spot came highly recommended by a friend, and overall I really enjoyed it. The interior was smaller than expected but decorated well. We started with the crispy spring rolls (they were way bigger than I expected) super crispy, and flavorful. Definitely a good appetizer to share. Originally came in planning to get the bone marrow pho, but ended up going with my friend's favorite: the spicy lemongrass pho with bone marrow. Very glad I did. The broth was rich, comforting, and had the perfect amount of spice. The bone marrow added a deep, buttery flavor . I got a large, but honestly a small would've been more than enough -- the portion was huge. The cocktails were okay honestly nothing bad, just not super memorable. Service was decent as well not the warmest, but we got everything we needed. Overall, if you're craving good Vietnamese food in the city place is definitely worth checking out .

Quaint inside with nice interior design. The pho was really filling for what was deemed the small portion. The flavor was good and you got a decent amount of meat for the price! They also have infused water which I found really refreshing and unique.

As someone who grew up eating authentic Vietnamese food, this is probably my favorite Vietnamese spot in Manhattan. The dining area is decorated to be warm, welcoming and almost tropical-like with various plants. Every time I've been here, I've had the pho, which is flavorful, served hot and honestly, feels like it heals the soul without being too heavy of a dish. I've also had the opportunity to try their bone marrow add-on, which I thought was unique and tasty. This is definitely a much more "rich" option to choose and you can easily share this with someone. I've also had curry here, which was wonderful and had a unique flavor. This is also much more filling. This spot has cured many hangovers for me.

I came here for the first time a few days ago and really liked it. The pho was really good, I didn't love the noodles but the broth was good. I also got the bone marrow for an extra $7. It really hit the spot. The chicken wings were very crispy and wonderful. My friend got a drink and she said it was great. I really recommend coming here when you're craving some pho on a cold day. It was a cute place to sit and chat. We weren't rushed and the service was good. The food and drinks came very fast.

The spicy lemongrass soup has great flavor. I would consider coming back because it is a convenient option but it didn't knock my socks off. Would be great on a cold, rainy day.

Came back to Ginger and Lemongrass after several years and the food is still really good! I had the Beef Pho with the sliced rare eye round and brisket. The beef was super flavorful! The waitress was helpful and it was a nice, relaxed environment for a weekday lunch. Highly recommend. Just wish they had some unsweetened in caffeinated options for tea as well.

I really haven't had great Vietnamese food in New York. I'm sure I'll get killed for that take like any other semi-polarizing take I have, so let's chalk it up to me not having been to the right spot yet. I'm a hopeless optimist, so I had a great feeling walking into Ginger and Lemongrass that I would have finally found a great Vietnamese spot. My eternal optimism, as it so often does, let me down once again. While there were some high highs, like the grilled beef wrapped in bettel leaves and thai coconut curry, there were equally low lows - that vermicelli bowl had overcooked, lukewarm chicken and the ingredients felt like they had been sitting for a little too long... Everything else (the shaken beef, chicken wings, steamed pork belly buns, summer rolls) were a solid 7/10. Good, but not great. Good is the mortal enemy of great. Overall, it just felt a little uninspired, kind of like this review is. It's hard to write when I'm not inspired. I honestly would come back and just get like 3 orders of the grilled beef wrapped in bettel leaves. Those were elite. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Service - the service was good. we were seated five minutes after we came and they were pretty attentive with anything we needed. Food - Overall, wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Yellow Curry with Mussels: this was basically like soup instead of curry. it didn't come with any veggies and the mussels were overcooked. Anything else you'd like to add Lemongrass Tofu Sandwich: the sandwich was good, but it didn't have anything outstanding about it. The bread was really good, but I've had better. It was missing a flavor element. We came Friday around 2 PM for a late lunch. The place was pretty lively and well decorated. I've been meaning to try this, so I was a little bit disappointed. Maybe we ordered wrong, but I might give it another shot later.

3 stars cause most of the things on the menu are a hit / miss. The summer roll would've been great but the pork inside was SOSO SO dry, even the sauce didnt help the dryness. If the meat was more juicy or tender it would have been great!!! The spicy lemongrass pho noodle soup however is ALWAYS a hit!! Def give that a try.

I got the pho ($21.78), which is steep for pho, but I guess that's Midtown prices for you. The wait was a slog--over 20 minutes for a bowl of pho, which other Yelp reviews warned about. When it finally arrived, the soup lacked that authentic pho aroma, which was a letdown. On the plus side, the beef was fresh, and the reusable to-go bag was a nice touch. Decent, but the wait and price make it hard to love. Might try again if they speed things up.

I ordered "Plain Pho", which is described as just broth and noodles, no garnish or meat. After waiting 30 minutes, for what is literally the simplest item on the menu, the bowl is brought out and it's a bowl of broth with a couple slices of chicken. No noodles. When I inquired, the server told me it's because I ordered the Plain Pho... yea and I said it comes with noodles and broth. They told me they could get me noodles, but acted like they were doing me a favor by fetching noodles for me, which was quite offputting because the noodles were quite literally half of the dish I actually ordered. How does one wait half-an-hour at a very casual fast Vietnamese food place, for premade soup and noodles, and still have the order wrong? In the end, I did get my noodles and broth, but the fact that I had to spend this much time and also justify my request for noodles (which are part of the dish) is quite insane. I put this at 2 stars for now, because I enjoyed my first time. Hopefully the service will improve.
