Excellent Chicago style pizza. I had not realized there was a Giordinos in Polaris until today. I ordered take out a chicken-sausage pizza with mushrooms and spinach and then two side salads with lemon vinaigrette. The service was good. I initially tried to order online, but their website said they weren't accepting anymore orders. I called because that seemed odd. I was able to order and they said it would be ready in 45 minutes. We went to get pizza and salads and brought them home. It was great. The pizza was absolutely stuffed. Lots of cheese and the chunky sauce Giordinos is known for. The salads were also super yummy. There was something like Daikon radish on top and the lemon vinaigrette and cherry green tomatoes just gave them a great taste. I will definitely be back. read more

We understand being short-staffed, but a simple, "Hi give me one minute and I'll be right over," works just fine. We then requested two waters with lemon. Time to receive those was 8 minutes. Upon asking if they carry any vegan options, they server responded with a seemingly disgusted manner. Utterly disappointed in the lack of pride these workers have in their establishment. OH MY PIZZA, YOU GUYS!!! This pizza was so freakin good. I don't even know where to start. First and foremost let me tell you that I am a New York style pizza girl. I have ALWAYS preferred it. Well, cue Giordano's. I now have a special place in my heart for Chicago style pizza. It was a fat girl's dream! So much cheese and toppings! (Do they even call them toppings on a Chicago style? I will have to research further on that one...) I was worried to visit this location after reading mixed reviews and I am so glad that I decided to. The vibe in there is really cool. The decor brings it all together and it doesn't feel like just a pizza place. The staff was super friendly and provided recommendations since it was our first visit. It was awesome! The only downside? You have to wait 45 minutes for the deep dish style pizza to cook. But the plus side? What a joke. Awful taste and awful value, even with a coupon. Our thin crust pizza had huge chunks where there was no toppings and it was the driest piece of yuck I ever tasted. Someone cut off the top of a pepperoncini with the stem still on it and threw it on the pizza. I seriously cannot believe one person or several persons looked at this pizza and patted themselves on the back and sent it out the door. I heard so many great things about this place and it was really a shame to get served what we had. The owner below my review, Ana P., told me to contact her via e-mail but she didn't respond to me for weeks unless I resent my original message, but the whole thing went nowhere. Her appearance of concern in replying to me is nothing but a phony gesture and she is just trying to make Giordano's look good on Yelp. A lot of businesses seem to be doing that now, reply to unhappy customers who were served food like the disgusting pizza you see in my photos just so they can try to look "good". After shopping at IKEA my friend and I worked up a serious appetite. We were super excited to see Giordano's close by and prepared ourselves to destroy some pizza. We made our way over, easily found a parking spot since they're in a strip mall with plenty of parking, and made our way inside! I was also pleasantly surprised to see handicap parking right outside the entryway. Once we were in we were seated immediately. The restaurant is quite spacious, has a cool vibe with the modern concrete floors, and is well lit. It's a cozy casual vibe and I loved the large spacious open concept. Our waitress came over right away and was super nice. After going through the normal stuff she also mentioned that it was currently a 45min wait for pizza. I was really excited to see they're upfront with the cook times so we could pick our food around that. I will say the restaurant wasn't full because of the snow storm, so if you're going on the weekend expect a wait time. We started with the sampler appetizer which was HUGE for the price! The bruschetta was super fresh and delicious....it was my favorite of everything included. The pizza was well worth the wait as well. The sauce was bright and fresh, the crust was flakey, and the cheese was plentiful Also, our server was very attentive and met all of our needs before we even asked! I knew to expect a long wait since its deep dish. Ordered a small pan with garlic and pep for the wife and a small Chicago style for myself. Took about 25 minutes. Surprised me. I honestly think this is frozen pizza warmed up in an oven. I had to pick all the green peppers out. Just a weird texture. Onions were slimy. Wife's had a decent taste. We expected her pan pizza to have a thicker crust. I really didn't want to be negative because the waiter was nice. This was for take out.. we were in Columbus yesterday... we live about an hour from Polaris so picked up a couple of pizzas. we had our daughter and her boyfriend for dinner (he lived in the Chicago area for a while and this is his favorite pizza)... Good and bad... The Chicago style pizza is REALLY good. The crust is thin, buttery and flaky but rigid enough to hold everything in. Just had sausage and pepperoni in it, but the cheese was gooey and everything was tops. I grew up in Jersey so not too familiar with this style of pizza, but I'm a fan of it. The thin crust pizza... ironically... not a fan despite the fact it is pretty much the same thing as the deep dish, but flat. What works so well for the deep dish pizza DOESN'T work for the thin crust. We kept both pizzas warm in the oven until dinner (maybe 20 minutes) and the cheese and toppings on the thin crust separated from the crust. I mean, eating it, the cheese and toppings were sliding off in one big wedge. Just now, I had a couple of slices for breakfast, and even microwaving for 90 seconds, it wasn't really warm and nothing "melted into place". We got 2 individual salads at $6 each. Nothing too special and TINY! For about $3, I could have made my own at home. Next was the timing... I placed my order online (and paid) at 9:45 AM for 3:30 PM pickup. Got there at 3:25 and had to wait 15 minutes. They had 5 hours and 45 minutes notice and couldn't have this ready for pickup. The last part is the price... we spent $70 for all this... 2 pizzas and 2 salads. WAY overpriced! I've been to decent steakhouses that cost about half the price. Of course, this was a dinner for 4 people, but still for pizza, I'll stick with something less pricey. read more

Ok ok finally I didn't let you guys down. This pizza place is insanely good. I am shocked that it's not a 4.5-5 Star on Yelp. In my opinion they deserve it. Let me tell you if there are only 2 people eating please get the small. You won't eat it all anyway. The pizzas are made to order and they come out hot and fresh. Be prepared to wait for about 20-30 minutes after you place your order. Now the good thing about that is, they tell you upfront about the wait. To me that was just good customer service. Giordano is a little far for delivery for us, but they have curbside pickup. The pickup is quite simple. In our case, we ordered over the phone and by the time we got there the pizza was ready. You call them once you arrive and they will put the pizza in the car for you --- all pretty much touchless. We recently, got a couple of large deep pizzas and after reheating them in the oven, I couldn't make out any difference between eating them at the restaurant and at home. Yum, but... don't have any plans after. One, because you'll be too full to move and two, because you're going to be here a while. We visited on a Friday night (probably dumb on our part) but we were there almost two hours between waiting for a table and then waiting for the pizzas. The wait time for the deep dish orders was about an hour once we sat down. Thankfully when it's busy, they take your pizza order when you walk in to keep the wait as minimal as possible. I visited this chain in Chicago and it tasted the same in Columbus, which made me happy. I finally hit this pizzeria. Yes, I'm a foodie and love to try new places, but I'd never been to the original Giordano's so it was on my list once the crowds ceased. My sister and I went last Saturday night. We were hungry and knew that the pizza would take a little longer since it was deep dish, so we ordered the Giordano's Sampler that included bruschetta, boneless wings, cheesy garlic bread & mozzarella triangles. Our server Ryan was great and included all the dipping sauces for us. We agreed that our favorite was the bruschetta which included fresh mozzarella. My sister has dined at the Giordano's in Chicago and suggested just a few toppings for our small Deep Dish which the menu suggests feeds 2-3 people. (I took her lead on this as the closest I've ever had to Chicago Deep Dish is Pizzeria Uno.) So we ordered a small with pepperonis and green peppers + a pitcher of beer to split. It was loaded with cheese which was amazing and the crust wasn't oily or greasy. It had a rich pastry taste actually. It was perfect and to be honest, I could only eat one slice after the appetizer smorgasbord so we both left with pizza leftovers (which are best reheated on a cast-iron skillet!) I'll definitely be back. The pizza was about $20 and looks kinda small but she and I literally had leftovers for two additional lunches each. I was really excited when I heard they were opening a Giordano's in Columbus. They have always been my favorite Chicago style pizza and driving 2 hours to Columbus is a lot easier than driving 5 hours to Chicago. I was a bit surprised at how "corporate restaurant chain"-like this location was. I don't know what I was expecting..maybe just a little more of a..I don't know..less corportatey feeling to it..but don't get me wrong it was still really really nice. And the crazy faucet/hand dryer gadget in the bathroom was pretty cool. I've been craving this exact pizza for a while now and was really excited to check it out. I went with the lunch special that included an individual sized deep dish (or stuffed or whatever you want to call it) with pepperoni and a side of fries. I also ordered some boneless buffalo wings for an appetizer (knowing how long these pizzas take to cook I figured I might as well try something else out as we wait). The boneless wings were really good for boneless wings..they were crisp and had a good amount of meat in them. The buffalo sauce was tangy and spicy with a little bit of sweetness to it..pretty tasty. There was nothing that made these wings stand out in any way really..but they were still pretty good. The pizza took about 45 minutes to cook..which was to be expected of course. I have to admit I was a little bit let down by my pizza. First of all it wasn't cut that well so the slices kind of fell apart when I was separating them. Second, it just didn't taste exactly as I remembered it..something was off. My family ordered a small deep dish..the one with all the meats. I had eaten my entire individual sized pizza and they had one piece left of theirs..I was completely stuffed but I wanted to try their pizza. It looked a lot better than mine. So I had their last piece and it was wonderful. Exactly like I remembered it. I'm thinking something with the individual sized pizza was made differently or something..because a piece of a regular pizza tasted so much better. Note to self for the future. The fries were pretty good too. Crisp and seasoned nicely. Fries are a bit of an odd side dish with a pizza..but they weren't bad. Service here was great. Our server was friendly, outgoing, and really good with the kids in our group. He let us know from the beginning that the pizza would take a while to cook..and got our apps out fast and was good with keeping our drinks filled. Prices were pretty reasonable for this style pizza. Prices for their lunch specials were really good. I think my app cost more than the rest of my meal..which I guess is a bit off but eh..all together for all the food that I got I feel what I paid was reasonable. If you're craving you true-Chicago style deep-dish pizza, Giordano's is pretty much the only place to go. While not by any means my favorite Chicago 'za, it will do in a pinch. The location is cute and industrial. The bar is behind the hostess stand and they actually have some good local brews on-tap. I love that the salads come in 3 different sizes allowing you to get as little or as much greenery as you desires. 'Za: I find Giordano's crust to be a little thick and not as buttery / flaky as other in the Chi-town. The cheese is thick (no need for x-tra cheese for those not accustomed to this style of pie.). The sauce was a little skimpy for what I normally expect although good flavor. I was disappointed with the pepperoni qty and thought it seemed, not unlike the sauce, a little skimpy. The garlic was tossed on top of the sauce and I recall it being mixed in when I lived in the Chi. Overall, for those of you first-timers, I'd say opt for more ingredients, and when you actually make it to Chicago for a deep-dish pie, try a different pie-shop. Service was fine and the overall cleanliness and atmosphere was good. Will I go back? Eh, maybe. Will I be more likely to visit the CHI and get a better pie? Yes. read more

More like 2.5 out of 5. The food was OK, the service wasn't that great. The restaurant has a patio and we opted to sit there due to COVID (they also offer dine in, but we avoided that). Servers were all wearing masks and there were hand sanitizers around. However, it was a hot day in August and the patio was very warm, the food also took quite a while to get ready, which really affected our experience. We ordered a medium chicken pesto, which was OK and more than enough for two people. I think our experience would have been much better had it not been such a hot day. We ordered a medium cheese and pepperoni deep dish pizza. We did not get a deep dish pizza. We got what resembled a regular thin crust pizza that was put in a deep dish pan then baked. Very well for the bottom crust was slightly burned-very hard to chew/cut through. All for $22.50 and the regular deep dish time of 45 minutes. Uffa! So, again, I don't get it. I mean, are we getting the Ohio version, but for the same price? Am I supposed to get more toppings, which will fill the pizza up more? On a Saturday this place got slammed starting at around 6. We sat at the bar at around 5, order a few beers (Brew Dog Elvis Juice and Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA-not a lot of craft on draft) and started the 45 minute waiting journey. Not all that bad of a wait-World Cup soccer on three TVs. When the 6:00 dinner bell rang though we were surrounded by people ordering Bud Light left and right waiting for their tables. After having some trouble with Uber Eats, the manager and cashier working were extremely pleasant and accommodating. Having eaten deep dish frequently in Chicago in the past, I had set a low bar for the food since I didn't believe it could be replicated outside of the Windy City. The deep dish was actually better than the multiple Giordanos I had been to in Chicago and the ingredients for the sides and appetizers were fresh. Very disappointed on Saturday. Probably my last visit to Giordanos. The pizza is as delicious as ever. I have eaten at Giordano's since 2002 (Chicago and now Columbus). We all know about Biden's inflation Everything is more expensive and Giordano's can't help that. They can however be honest about pricing. My family and I started an order online primarily so that I could control costs. When we arrived, we found put some menu prices had increased 25% and they hadn't updated online pricing. That was tough to swallow, but when our check arrived they had tacked a 3% mandatory service charge on top of that. Never saw it on the menu. It may have been there somewhere, but clearly management didn't want it seen. ​Charge what you need to, but be up front and honest. After having this pizza in Chicago multiple times, I thought I would give the Columbus location a try while I was back in Ohio for the week. To begin, know that they start making the pizza once you order so though it's fresh, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get. This is fine if you are prepared, but due to the Ohio State game being on, it was obvious our waiter was a bit distracted and it took even longer to get our pizza as well as drink refills which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. The pizza itself is good but something just seemed a bit different than the one in Chicago and my sister (who lived there) agreed as well. I would go here again if I was craving Chicago style pizza, but it wouldn't be an every month type of meal. read more

We really enjoyed our experience at Giordano's. It started with the server allowing us to change tables (even after the drinks were ordered) to a table near the TVs. He didn't complain and even changed the station so we could watch the World Cup game! They have a larger menu than I expected and even have gluten free pizzas! {Note GF is not available in deep dish.} We ordered starter salads to hold us over because the deep dish pizzas take 45-60 min to make. When it finally came, we were super impressed with the cheese pull. The last time I ate deep dish, I felt there was way too much sauce. The portions were much better at Giordano's, and I found the pizza crust to be especially good. It a really nice crunch. There aren't a lot of deep dish pizza options in Columbus, but Giordano's makes that ok because it's a solid place. read more

I love Giordano's and grew up eating it in Illinois. My bf and I decided to get curbside pickup from here because they will not deliver to Clintonville. I arrived at the time estimated for pizza pick up but the order was not ready. We waited in the parking lot for it to be brought out (only about 5 min after order was due so that was not an issue). Unfortunately when we went home to eat it the entire bottom crust was still partially raw and stuck to the cardboard tray. It was very disappointing and I would have rather been given a notice that my pizza needed more time than to have taken home a half baked pizza. read more

We decided to try Giordano's here in Ohio, having had them in Chicago. Our waitress was really good, but the pizza only so-so. We ordered a Sausage/Mushroom/Onion deep dish. It was cooked well, but the pizza was really heavy on the onions, and really REALLY light on the sausage (we couldn't even taste it). I don't know if we'll come back or not. The food is good. We had the fried artichokes and bruschetta which were both great portions, fresh and tasty. The pizza was good too, pretty much what you would expect for Chicago style chain pizza. The service was terrible. It was our first time here and we didn't know the pizza takes 45min from the time you order, they didn't tell us. An hour and 15 minutes later we kept asking where it was and why it was taking so long so the manager came out and told us that our pizza had been in for 53 minutes which is about average and we said we had never been here and it's been over an hour. The people next to us sat down, ordered and got their pizza before we had and when we mentioned that And that we'd been here for over an hour since we ordered he said- "I'll have to check on that" and never came back. He didn't apologize or take responsibility. My husband ordered a beer, they brought the wrong beer but the bartender said it was the right one so they went to chat and the bartender said, "ya we've been hearing a lot that this tastes like it's Bud Light, they might've tapped our keg wrong so maybe you should order a diff one" the server also didn't keep our waters filled, we had to continue to stop them for water. Finally got some Giordano's in Columbus. And it was... well, good not great. Sweetie lived in Chicago for years, we've been to pizza places up there, so of course we had to try it here. It opened a few months ago and we've been trying online ordering ever since, with no luck. It was slammed. We'd put in an order and it would say first available time was sometime the next day. We thought about going, but braving the crowds with a baby, and then waiting for the food, was not appealing. Finally, Sweetie got through on a weekday, and a day I had off, so there was no rush. Chicago pizza takes awhile to make, so it still was an hour or so before we could pick it up. We just got a pepperoni, and it was a good pizza. Dense, in a good way- a ton of cheese, lots of sauce, a good amount of meat, and a crust sturdy enough to handle it all without tasting like concrete. It's still a good idea to use a knife and fork, but it was possible to pick up a slice without being too messy. I was able to eat two slices, but was stuffed. Go, or order online, with a large group, order a size smaller than you might with a regular pizza, and enjoy. If you go, plan ahead for the wait time, and then drink, eat apps, whatever. It's an experience, certainly not fast food. Worth a try, though I daresay it's best to get Chicago pizza in Chicago. read more
