Owner was kind of rude told us "if you're waiting for us we don't open until 1230" even though yelp, google and his website says they open at 12 but fine no worries we waited outside for them to open. Chicken is heavily battered almost like a fish and chips but is seasoned well. Fries were good and cucumbers it came with was refreshing.

Great food! Chicken prepped and cooked when ordered, these are not pre made battered chicken. The batter used has certain spices that enrich the flavor of fried chicken. I definitely recommend this place. Service is also great, very welcoming and quick to get your order to you. Ambiance at this location is great, a little busy since there are tons of other food counters. Note that this place is located inside the Citizens public market which will be completely shut down the 2nd of November 2025. Only spot that will be open after their closure will Bar Bohemian which is located upstairs and is adjacent to the rooftop.

Fried chicken tenders wildly exceeded my expectations. They consider themselves LA-styled but its more like Asian fusion. Nonetheless, it was not disappointing. The batter stayed crispy and was well seasoned (pairs good with sauces). The inside meat was moist. The sides that were included the fries were light/airy/crispy/super addicting and the pickles were excellent seasoned like a korean side-dish. The wait was worth it. Not that the line was long it was because they opened 30 min later than advertised. I had the yuzu green tea lemonade but that was not as notable but was refreshing. Seating inside citizen public market is super clean and modernized. Constantly workers are checking up and tidying the place up

Delicious !! The crispy spiced fry on the chicken was so yummy but not to die for like Korean fried chicken hence knocking off one star. However this was the most unique and such a fun elevated fried chicken. I would get the bone in wings fried chicken again for sheer taste & crunch. However there was definitely less meat on these pieces when compared to the boneless fried white meat thicc chicken. I personally wouldn't get the Sichuan fries again. The spice was yummy but the total dish lacked cohesive ness and at the end of the day it was just spiced fries.

Food was amazing. Chicken sandwich was so flavorful, chicken was so crispy, I'm not too much breading and was super juicy. Very huge portion and man the fries were good. We also got poutine fries because who can say no to fries with cheese and gravy.

I was pretty excited to try this place, heard so many good things about it and saw a bunch of articles written about it.... But it was pretty disappointing, maybe it was an off day? Flavors and seasonings were good, most of the food tasted the same though, it all tasted like Japanese curry, I like Japanese curry so I didn't mind, but it was all the same. So everything comes out hella greasy, but you're eating fried chicken so it's kind of expected, the first bite was really good, crispy, flavorful, juicy. But by the time I finished my first tender, the rest of the food was just soggy and greasy. The Mac n cheese was hard to eat, the crust bent my fork, and then once you reach the bottom you get the mushy Macaroni... also had no flavor... Pickles were good tho?.. Overall I was excited but ended up being disappointed...

I ordered the poutine fries from their menu. I love that the fries are extra crispy, there's tons of melted cheese and gravy on top. It's one of the vendors inside the Citizen Public Market.

Chris Oh sandwich - yum! Would definitely get again

To find Go Go Bird, enter Citizens Public Market and head all the way to the back. I ordered the Chris Oh sandwich and would definitely get it again. The chicken was perfection - piping hot, crispy on the outside, and juicy and tender on the inside. Loved the glaze, the slaw, and the pickles. The fries were also delicious - neither too hard nor too soggy. My husband couldn't stop stealing them. Would love to come back and try their poutine or Szechuan fries, but who am I kidding? I'm going to get the Chris Oh sandwich every time.

This place is hyped as having the best chicken sandwich ever, so I was excited to try it--but it ended up being one of the worst I've had in LA. I usually try to finish my food, but after spending $20, I couldn't even justify it. I wasn't a fan of the chicken at all and left extremely disappointed.

Bone-in wing plate with Japanese cheddar biscuit, fries, aïoli, lemon, pickles, & roasted peppers
    Camryn Y.

Mind-bogglingly delicious is the only way to describe this food. The bone-in fried wings and tenders are up there with the best fried chicken I've ever had, next to other top contenders like Gus's fried chicken. The bone-in wing plate is the perfect harmony of textures and flavors! You get juicy fried bone-wings (each wing has both the drum and flat so it's a good amount of meat), shockingly crispy hand-cut fries that taste as if they've been fried in tallow. The chicken is juicy and flavorful and the crust has a perfect lacy crunch and tons of flavor from whatever spices they use. The Togaroshu aïoli and Japanese ranch are a unique and cooling complement to the chicken, and the side of lightly picked cucumber and complimentary pepperoncinis help cut through the richness. The Japanese cheddar biscuit... don't even get me started on this magical creation! It's a perfectly crispy, fluffy biscuit topped with a delicious condensed milk glaze and topped with miso powder. To me, it tasted a lot like lemon glaze and powdered sugar. It's an unexpected sweet/savory flavor combination that is just insane. You'll need to lie down immediately after this meal but it WILL be worth it.

Our friends recommended we try Go Go Bird, and we're so glad they did! Located inside Citizen Public Market, there's plenty of seating both indoors and out, which made for a relaxed and casual dining experience. My husband and I each ordered the tenders and upgraded one of the fries to the Szechuan fries. You can also request the tenders "spicy", which added dry rub with chilis and other spices--we gave it a shot, but the extra heat wasn't super noticeable. Everything is made to order, so our food came out hot and fresh. We were shocked by how huge the tenders were--definitely more filling than expected! The house pickles were a great touch, cutting through the richness of the chicken and fries with tangy balance. We couldn't even finish our meal, and were perfectly happy to have delicious tenders for a second meal.

Yummmm the fried chicken here is finger licking good. Perfect amount of batter, seasoned, perfectly crispy on the outside. We also ordered a side of the Japanese Cheddar Biscuits and some fries....my god. The service was great (super friendly and knowledgeable about flavor profiles) and their location sits within Citizen Public Market so there's something for everyone. Plenty of seating, but it can get a bit loud on weekends/weekends days when the work crowd role in from nearby businesses. We will definitely be back here!

All in all this place is great! Service was quick and our food was delicious. Everything was well spiced and the condiments for the chicken tenders were great. I should mention that the chicken tenders are also fairly sizable. Lastly, Citizens Public Market has a nice patio in the back and on the roof where you can enjoy your meal as well. Do they serve beer?

    Yes

Will the half chicken ever be back?!

Maybe one day, but for now it's tenders, wings and sando.

Do they serve their wings and/or tenders a la carte?

Is the chicken spicy as it comes (via takeout)? Or is it only spicy if you add the spice rub/chili oil?

It has a little kick in the batter/rub without any sauce.

This location was the perfect halfway point for all of us. We arrived bright and early around 9:30 AM on a Wednesday. I had called ahead to reserve a booth, my absolute favorite kind of seating. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and immediately seated. Our server (I unfortunately forgot his name!) was fantastic. He brought out fresh coffee right away, took our breakfast orders, and was extremely kind, polite, and attentive throughout our entire meal. The menu has plenty of options, ranging from scratch-made omelettes and burritos to salads and a dedicated kids' menu. The Breakfast Plate Specials ($12-$14) Both my cousin and aunts ordered this. It came loaded with pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage, and toast--an absolute steal for the price~ Turkey Club Sandwich & Fries: I was in the mood for lunch, so I opted for the club. The fries were hot and perfectly crispy. The sandwich itself was wonderful, packed with turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My only tiny critique is that I wish it came with mayo (I'm a huge mayo fan!). However, I ordered a side of ranch which paired perfectly and really elevated the sandwich. The vibe here is incredibly laid-back, welcoming, and brightly lit. Everything--including the restrooms--was sparkling clean. They had TVs playing a local soccer game and a nice bar area where it looks like they serve up a great selection of beer and wine for happy hour. I didn't grab an alcoholic drink this time, but I already have my eye on a cranberry mimosa for my next visit! Before you leave, make sure to check out the front counter--they have a massive display of freshly baked cookies, pies, and other goodies~ For the price, the food is absolutely worth it and the service is top-notch. Thank you so much, Dinah's Comfort Kitchen--we will definitely be back when we're in the area again!

Perfectly roasted, incredibly juicy, and seasoned incredibly well. The price was comparable to Pollo Loco, but the portion size was far more generous. I ordered the half chicken with charro beans and substituted my second side for chips and guacamole. The chips had a delicious seasoning. I ordered a glass of jamaica and their pipian de pollo, based on recommendations from other reviews. The jamaica came out quickly, and it was lightly floral and not too sweet. Next came out a little basket of tortilla chips with some pico de gallo. The tortilla chips were hot and freshly fried, with a thick and satisfying crunch. The pico was good enough to add a bit of brightness and freshness to the chips. Finally the pepian de pollo came out, a large platter of chicken stew with a drumstick and a thigh, some potatoes, a mound of rice and a heap of mac and cheese. The stew had a nice deep, rich flavor that really evoked that feeling of comfort of food made with love. The chicken and potatoes soaked up the flavor beautifully, and scooping all that with some rice into a fresh, homemade tortilla made for a lovely experience.
