I would often get the Sweet & Sour Chicken lunch special, which includes more than enough food. I never had a bad experience personally, but my standards for enjoyment are also fairly low when it comes to Chinese food. I always find it delicious for the most part. We were given their menu from our hotel desk. We ordered a delivery order which arrived in a timely manner however, this was the worst Chinese food we have ever eaten. We ended up sharing the General's chicken which was the only edible item in our order but not very good. The only exception was the sesame balls. The fried items were greasy and the oil had an unpleasant flavor. Seems was not right but the delivery guy just let. We are so hungry decided to eat first then call them after. When I called no answer. The total of my ordered was $ 42,29 without tax. Not sure how the total calculated. My lesson here before signed the bill make sure check first no matter how hungry I will be. Definitely I will not trust any deliver food ever again. Excellent food and great service! We ordered Kung Pao, Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Schwan Beef and Pot stickers...and all were excellent! We ordered twice in the last couple days and did pick up and delivery. The flavor is awesome and the beef and chicken were tender and not grizzly. Golden Dragon is now the Chinese restaurant flagship in Flagstaff in my opinion. The owner, Jimmy, has run the place for years and it's simply wonderful. Anything and everything is wonderful. They make a soup which is called West Lake soup. Really! In Chinese, it's called West Lake. Seems W. L. is a lake in northern China and very much a tourist center for Chinese people. Golden dragon has two menus. You can order from either one, the tourist one or the Chinese one. We usually order dishes from one or the other and often from both. Really hope you enjoy it. The best Chinese place you'll find in flagstaff hands down. We've eaten dine in and take-out and the service was amazing each experience. The building is closed off from inside viewing in a weird, club way but don't let that architectural flaw keep you from eating here. Crab cakes are to die for, along with the orange chicken and beef dish and just about everything else we tried. Shirley temples were bit of a miss but they're still getting five stars! I have tried the Golden Dragon before but was very disappointed. I blamed on the delivery guy since it seemed we didn't get all our food. I ordered take out so I could be sure what we ordered we got. The bad news is that we did. Won Tons were too crisp and use industrial won ton pi. The shrimp tempura was also wrapped in pi, so no tempura. BBQ pork buns were not bad nor was the 1/2 Peking duck. Only problem is that the "1/2" means two duck legs and lots of skin. The fried calamari had no flavor and was not properly fried. Egg fried rice was fine. After two years in Flagstaff, I cannot find a good Chinese restaurant. Thai & Vietnamese are all good, just not any of the Chinese places. read more

I like Golden Dragon because it is really the only place in Flagstaff where I've found Chinatown style dishes like steamed whole fish, super hot szechuan style chili sauce, and tripe. I know that tripe might gross some people out, and I don't go for it too often myself. I just like the fact they have it. I judge a Chinese restaurant on dishes like these, not General Tso's Chicken. Order off the white menu with the traditional dishes, not the Americanized red one, and they'll do you right. read more

DO NOT GO THERE. I just had a worst dinner in my whole life, the restaurant owner charged me 18% tips without notice and pretend it's like one of the dishes I ordered. Due to the service and the quality of dishes, I'm only willing to give 10% tips. And he said if I'm not give him the tips what him asking for, he will call the police caught me... Don't Bother Eating at Golden Dragon I'm just going to do everyone a favor and post about our HORRIBLE experience at Golden Dragon. The over priced appetizers were so small we could barely share them as a family of 3. The entrees looked like I cooked them in my kitchen. Not to mention, my boyfriend's order was wrong AND had a hair in it. After waiting 20 minutes after eating to get our bill and a to go box (it wasn't even busy either), we decided not to leave a tip due to our crappy service and meal. The waitress came out to our car and yelled at us for not leaving a tip, saying it wasn't her fault the order was wrong and there was a hair in it. After telling her the tip was optional and we didn't like our service or food so we opted out, she told us to never come back again. Good, we won't! I have not been here in years and we recently decided to get some take out on the advise of my dad who is a frequent flyer. We ordered the General Tso Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. The chicken was some of the best that I have ever had. It was so good that I can not wait to come back. It was full of flavor and I was excited to have left overs for the next days lunch. But the real reason that order out for Chinese food is to experience their Mongolian beef. I am a die hard Mongolian beef fan and I can tell you who has the best in any town. This is however where this restaurant fell very short. I was saddened to see that instead of beef this dish was 90% onions. Noooo! I was heartbroken. Needless to say that this dish ended up getting a solid D+ from me but the opposite is to be said for the chicken dish A+. This left me with only one solution which is a solid 3 star review. Craved some Chinese food and stumbled upon this place after our sightseeing at Lower Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. The restaurant was super packed due to Happy Lunar New Year so we had takeout instead and just ate it at the hotel upon return. Ordered Mongolian food, wonton soup, sautéed green beans and eggplant with oyster sauce, House special fried rice and House Special Pan fried noodle. Overall, food was pretty good. I loved the Mongolian beef. It was tasty and delicious, it had a kick to it! The wonton soup was just okay and the shrimp/beef pan fried noodle were pretty good but I've had better elsewhere. As always, can't go wrong with the sautéed greens & eggplant. For dessert, we had Chinese fortune cookies and it suited me just fine read more

This is one of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to. The food quality is a healthy step above the usual Chinese take-out joint. The building is in good shape, there is ample seating (booths, tables, bar), and the decoration is simple but enchanting. I stopped in during 6ish on a Sunday and it was pretty quiet. The server was attentive and it didn't take long for the food to come out. There are two menus; the more "traditional" one having more options and some pictures. We ordered crab puffs/wontons/rangoons as an appetizer, and they were super tasty, though I would have liked a little more filling. Watch out for the yellow sauce, it's got something like wasabi in there! For the main course, I ordered a chow fun with beef (there is a pic of it in the menu, and I was in the mood for something noodley). It lived up to my expectations: thick, flat noodles mixed with thinly sliced beef, sprouts, onions and scallions. Plenty of meat, though I wouldn't have minded one more veggie in there and a little less meat. The portion size was manageable, although my friend's chicken pan fried noodle platter had room for leftovers (plenty of veggies in there; plenty of sauce too). read more
