We stopped by for lunch on our way to Page from Scottsdale. The owner was courteous and answered lots of questions on the food. We had beef chow fun and Taiwan rice noodle. Both were excellent. Since the restaurant didn't have dine in yet and we didn't want to eat inside our car, the owner recommended we went to a nearby park. My brother in law took us here when we were visiting in town. It's a great little restaurant. Decor is typical Chinese restaurant with lots of gold accents. We had a large group of 16 and they were able to put us all in a side room that was quiet and comfortable. Our service was very good and attentive. They were really good about being patient with all the kids. I enjoyed the food. It's not the best I've ever had but was still good and no compaints. Came here on a recommendation from a store clerk nearby. Like others, I received two menus and had to ask what the difference was. The server said that the Chinese exchange students liked to order from one because it was more authentic and the other was Americanized. She did warn me that the authentic menu was spicier, i.e., hotter. Since I don't care for hot spices I ordered from the Americanized menu. I got the lunch special. Mao Gao Gai Peng that came with fried rice (you can get white rice if you prefer), and egg drop soup. The soup was good but a bit bland. The rice was well done. The Mao Gao Gai Peng was beyond bland. It tasted like the whole thing was boiled and they forgot to add any spices. I doctored it up with some salt and soy sauce and that didn't help much. Service was OK, and the prices were reasonable. I've actually never eaten here. First time and I was excited they had rice noodles - my favorite. I was taken aback when I saw salt and pepper on the tables. That's a no-no in true Chinese culture but I guess one has to appeal to the mass. I requested spicy then had to request extra chili oil sauce. I had to add soy sauce to the Chow Fun sauce to get pass the blandness. Call me LA China Town spoil, call me ex-bf's Chinese mom's cooking spoil, you can also call me Chinese Food snob. Ordered twice now and excellent both times! You can order online which is a plus and they deliver to you if you live within 5 miles. Pork potstickers and crab puffs are excellent. My lunch order was beyond good it was excellent. I used the Yelp mobile app to place an order for delivery. In reviewing the photos of all the great tasting food I ordered from the main menu. Chose something I usually don't ever order and that was the Orange Beef. The delivery driver came before the estimated delivery time of 45 mins during lunch hour. I was happy about that. My good was hot and fresh. I was highly impressed with how well my food was. Large portion size to make two meals. My rice that went with it was warm and fresh. We ordered at 6:00 p.m. and the food arrived after 8:00 p.m. I called to check on the order at 7:00 p.m. but the restaurant stated they were in route-I have two little ones and we were all expecting to wait, but two hours, heck no!! This place is always delicious. I've had one or 2 so-so meals there out of dozens that were fantastic. The chicken egg rolls are crisp and perfect, and the chefs are consistent in the way they prepare the entrees. Our family of 4 has very different preferences but we all love Golden Dragon. The owners are efficient without being rude and the staff is friendly and really familiar with the menu. We order from them at least twice a month and have for years. Some of our favorites are the egg foo yung, sesame chicken, dumplings w/chili oil, and several of the vegetable dishes from the authentic menu (there is a separate american style menu). We were exhausted from driving through the desert and stayed at a hotel that had a brochure of this place mentioning delivery. We decided to give it a try but boy do we regret it. We ordered pork fried rice, pork pot stickers, and spring rolls. Delivery was quick but we were charged almost $10 for delivery for the 3 items we ordered, which we were not informed of until we went to sign the receipt. Seriously? Spring rolls were surprisingly good. Crispy/flaky roll and veggies were cooked right and seasoned well. Pork fried rice was GARBAGE. Super greasy, not much flavor, and the pork was slimy and wasn't even cooked all the way. Pork pot stickers were not bad but they were soggy as if they'd been sitting out all day. They only gave us one tiny container of soy sauce. Needed much more to make the rice enjoyable. On a positive note, they were kind enough to send two plates, silverware, and napkins to make sharing the food easy. To be honest, I am bias. Extremely bias. This is great Chinese food by any standards. The trick is to know the owners, which I have for 10 years. They once owned the flaming wok by bashas but built up this place a few years ago. This is great food. All of the poor reviews comes from people eating sesame chicken and fried rice. After 14 years of sticking with one particular Chinese restaurant on the West side, we decided to try something new and we're so glad we did! The "gold" in "Golden Dragon" is quite literal. The entry way is all gold paneled, and the decor in the restaurant uses liberal, but tasteful use of gold. It creates a lovely atmosphere. The server approached us right away and helped seat us. Our appetizers (egg roll, soup, wonton crab puff and potstickers) came almost immediately after we ordered them. The egg rolls, potstickers and crab puffs were pretty standard, frozen then fried and served. The Hot and Sour Soup was spot on- and this coming from a certified Hot and Sour Snob. It was fragrant and made my mouth tingle in the right spots, like a good soup should. It was also filled with yummy stuff (mushrooms, bamboo shoots, others). Only two or three of the many Chinese places I've tried across AZ get it right. These guys nailed it! As soon as you arrive, they give you two menus- one with the usual American/Chinese fair, and an "Authentic Chinese Cuisine" menu with more adventurous offerings. I tried the Sizzling Squid, which came out less than 5 minutes after I ordered it, sizzling as its name promised. The squid was tender, not very fishy, and presented in a brown soy-based sauce with onions and bell peppers. Simple and delicious! My family members got the standard General Tso, Sesame Chicken and Chicken Lo Mein. Those were all pretty good. The General Tso was breaded and fried just right, but the sauce was much more sweet than tangy. The sesame chicken was just what you'd expect as was the lo mein. Overall, we really liked it and will likely make this our new Chinese place in Flagstaff. I can see why they are consistently voted "Best in Flagstaff"! read more

I just wanted to stay in my hotel after a super long day of driving and decided to take a chance on this place. They delivered to my hotel room and everything was neatly packaged and boxes were all full, they even came about twenty minutes earlier than the estimated time I was given. I ordered wontons, pork fried rice, egg soup, hot and sour soup, and orange beef. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my order, everything was fresh cooked warm and delicious!
