Solid Chinese restaurant by Nanaimo and Broadway. Don't let the dumpy exterior fool you. Parking is available in the tiny strip mall lot (only some 8 spots). Better to park on the side streets. The interior is split into 3 sections. The place obviously used to be several different (smaller) restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. As of the time of writing, they have some pretty good deals in terms of multi course dinners. Worth checking out. The menu is typical for Cantonese style dinners, but the food sure is tasty. Special mention goes to their signature salty peppery fried crab. Probably one of the best ones in town I must say. I also had their Peking duck here, and the quality is there. Definitely a solid option for a group dinner. Recommended.

Saw the lobster deal in the newspaper. I forgot the exact price but it was slightly under $40 for a 2lb ginger scallion lobster with saang mien on the bottom. There is extra cost to change it to cream sauce. Their cream sauce was mediocre. The lobster was really fresh and sweet. In order to get the lobster deal, you must order dishes costing at least $50. The salted duck egg prawns were really good. The egg tofu dish was just as good as other more expensive restaurants. The salt pepper pork was also done well. This is a very good place for almost close in quality to higher end restaurants without paying so much. You'll be spending about $100 for 4 people for a lobster dinner.

Came by for lunch to try their famous eel clay pot rice! Definitely very tasty and comes with a good crispy bottom. Also ordered the chicken curry (very mediocre) and vermicelli soup (not bad and well portioned). The two latter dishes came with a drink for lunch, and we ordered the milk tea/coffee and it was quite yummy!

A family restaurant with good service and a good variety of choices. Their prices are very reasonable.

Wow, this place is a GEM, I am so in love with the Rolls, I visited 2 days in a row, had to get…read moresome more rolls in before we leave BC, which was so sad! Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

02.12.26 @11:40a Got…read morethe mushroom & pork cheong funn. For drink I got the Grinder Black sesame. The cheong funn is silky & thin. The black sesame is smooth.
