On the menu I thought of course this is good, then I got it delivered and realized that it was EXTRA. Got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it had no Buffalo sauce on it, mostly DIY aka you need to pour the Buffalo sauce on it yourself. It was too salty. It was heavy, small but very filling. Damn first time in Austin and it was hot and humid. Other than that this place is a food truck adjoined to Whistler a cool looking bar. The food was great, I got the Tofu smash burger with an egg on top with reg. Fríes. It was worth it, plus a drink at the bar. Cold water is on the side if you need it. They give you plenty of fries as a side and chipotle aioli dipping sauce. If you are VEGAN they have fried tofu or just the tofu burger. read more

This is such a hidden gem! The food truck is in the courtyard outside of Whisler brewing Company. There is an outdoor bar where you can get drinks, and there is a ton of shaded seating outside. There were also lots of dogs around, so it was basically heaven. We ordered two Thai chicken sandwiches to go ahead of time online, but actually ended up eating them in the courtyard. This place is really good. If I don't want to drive but really need a spicy chicken sandwich or a burger, this is my go to spot. I've only gotten takeout, but each time I've gone has been great. Buffalo Chicken Sandwich: They put the Buffalo sauce and ranch(blue cheese is also available) on the side, which I actually prefer, because it keeps the chicken crispy and lets me control the sauciness. Burger: also really good smash style burgers. I try to limit burger intake (fried chicken in my mind is somehow healthier), but this is one of the better (best?) burgers I've had in the area. The fries here are also really good, and the side of fries is generous and very reasonably priced. A bit disappointed honestly given the super high reviews of this place, but in the chicken sando game, I feel Golden Tiger is just average. Pros: the chicken itself is juicy and uniquely crisp. It's not very heavily breaded, so it shatters when you bite into it. I appreciate shredded iceburg lettuce - no need for fancy stuff in a chicken sando, just need something cool and refreshing. The special sauce is decent and I love me a potato bun. Cons: not much flavor. Maybe it would have been better to opt for the thai or the buffalo chicken instead, but I really didn't taste much of anything. The french fries are also reminiscent of in n out fries well done, which I personally don't think are that great. Ok, so in my quest to try ALLLLLL the chicken sandos in the ATX, Golden Tiger has been on my radar for some time. I blame the local foodie IG'ers for my mindset on this - because - who needs personal responsibility anyway? So back to the GT. To start, I really liked their touchless ordering process - and the guys working here were super friendly. The fact we got a tray with all our food items and they had LOTS of napkins - this was super useful. As for the sandwich - it was more like an in-SANE-wich - as in the size (yes, this chicken breast REALLY was 'as big as yo face'), the moistness, and the heat (from the sauce and spices). It was just what we needed on a cool night in Austin. The only downside here was that my wife got tired of me saying 'This sandwich SLAPS!' multiple times....but that's more of a personal problem, IMO. We also ordered Tiger Fries which were also flavorful like chili cheese fries with zesty and tangy toppings my only preference would have been to have more pickled onion and less pickles if any at all to cut through the heavy chili and cheese but overall the very tasty and the fried egg on top was made perfect. WOW was this place good. I really wanted to try the Thai Chicken Sandwich, but unfortunately they were sold out by the time I got there. I instead ordered the Golden Burger with a side of fries and I've been thinking about that burger for a couple of days now. The patties were juicy and well paired with the rest of the toppings in the burger. The special sauce added a nice kick to the already flavorful burger. The fries were also very crunchy, but a little on the saltier side. We placed an online order right at the truck that said it would take 30min, but we were pleasantly surprised with how quick our food came out. I ordered the burger and my date had the Thai Chicken Sandwich. The peppers as a garnish should have been a warning as to what was to come. I only got 1 bite of my burger which I thought was good. She had one bite of the Thai Chicken and exclaimed it was the tastiest chicken she's ever tasted. But on her second and third bite is when the heat set in. I noticed tears in her eyes as she asked me to find some water. She started sweating and describing how that was the hottest thing she's ever eaten. She said she couldn't finish it so I traded my burger unwillingly. I don't think she could taste the burger as her taste buds were singed from the Thai chicken spice of death but she finished it in an effort to relieve the pain. Interestingly enough I was able to finish the sandwich without too much trouble. She kept accusing me of just trying to be a tough guy and not admitting I was dying, but it was tolerable. There's tons of great spots on East 6th and this is one of many!! This place has a beautiful outdoor patio servin' up some delicious craft cocktails with a dank food truck right next to it. You have to go up to the bar to order drinks so don't expect a server. I got the chicken sandwich here and will definitely recommend it. I'd also take another class of that mezal cocktail they had. I'm a huge fan of mezcal and they really new how to make a drink with it! The bartenders here were super cool and were able to concoct something cool for my friends from out of town.
