Had a problem with a carbon monoxide leak from my fireplace. Plumber identified some likely causes but all of them were things I could remedy (vacuuming, adjusting logs, using for less than two hours). As a result, they didn't charge a fee. I am so glad I called Goode. Water backed up under my basement carpet on a Saturday. Mike responded immediately by phone and helped me decide how to proceed. He then came by on Sunday, quickly addressed the problem and fixed it. I was already in the market for a sewer rodding, so he sent a camera tech the next day and a rodding tech the following day. Each of the techs were super nice and totally engaged with the job at hand. I found Mike on craigslist, and Mike promised me his craigslist discount. Come billing time, he forgot to apply it. When I called to address this oversight, he immediately sent me a check for the credit. His prices might be on the high side; I'm not sure. I think the type of work they did tends to be expensive, and he charged much less than Baethke, who wildly overcharged us for everything they did when we used them. Michael himself is a really nice guy. His work inspires confidence, and his demeanor is both pleasant and direct. He gives straight answers that you understand even after the work is done. read more

These guys were awesome! We had an emergency and yucky, stinky problem related to our waste pipe (yeah, it was mega gross). Not only were these guys able to come the next day, they stayed until the job was finished and then dropped some heavy duty enzymes so that the stink would go away. I was very impressed with their work ethic. Our final price even came under their original bid. I called Goode to replace a Rinnai tankless hot water heater, given that they had cleaned the unit about 18 months ago at at cost of $235, they seemed like a good choice. I set an appointment and a Goode representative came to my home. He looked at the unit and stated that Goode no longer carried Rinnai and tried to sell me a different unit that would have required pulling down part of my bathroom wall and with a total cost of over $5000. I thanked him for his time, about 20 minutes and the estimate. He then said I own him a $60 service call, which was never mentioned when I call for an estimate, which I would not have set up if I had been told that Goode could not replace my Rinnai. All and all I my experience was bad, if you don't carry a product tell the customer and be sure to state there is a service charge for an estimated. I would not recommend Goode plumbing. read more

As a DIY guy around my house, I am very hesitant to call any contractors to ever do any work in my house, but sometimes an expert is required to complete a job and Bob at Goode Plumbing is a quintessential plumbing expert. He helped me troubleshoot a water pressure issue over three separate visits, and the overall invoice was very reasonable and the quality of the work was top notch. They also helped me with buying my own equipment and materials at Community Home Supply and didn't give me any guff about wanting to work on my terms and buying my own materials. Buyer beware! I wanted an old kitchen sink disposal removed. I had a $500 quote from my usual plumber who has been maintaining that disposal for years. When I called Goode, they said the removal would cost $300 to $400. When they then arrived to complete the service, they changed the price to $650. I don't believe their argument that the removal is complex, given that I have an existing quote from my usual plumbers (who are pricey themselves) for $500. Not a good way to conduct business, and I won't be seeking their services again. read more

5 stars for the woman who answered the phone and booked our appointment. 0 for everyone else. Jose came to our home to do an estimate. He was incredibly kind and courteous. It took about a week of me emailing back and forth to finally get the estimate when I was told it would take a couple days. We were under a time crunch and this was conveyed up front. The estimate came back at $8500 for what my husband (who works in construction management) thought should have been about a $2000 job max. My husband called to discuss the estimate with someone (a guy, forgot his name)- he wanted to know how much of the estimate was for parts, and how much was for labor to try and understand where the pricing came from. He was told that there were "formulas" used but that he didn't know the break down and that someone else would have to come back out and do ANOTHER estimate before they could tell us where the price came from. We decided to stop wasting our time and used a plumber based on a recommendation from a friend. The entire job cost $1300. YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT. BEWARE Unless you just have money to burn, although I think a bonfire would be more fun!!! read more

I appreciated the call beforehand asking if it was alright if he arrived early, and I welcomed the change. Jean Paul was extremely helpful is assessing my washroom's situation, and gave me two honest & thought-out quote options. I in no way felt pressured to take a risk with the higher option, and my opinion felt respected. Within 20 minutes, the issues was solved, I saved a large handful of cash in trying the first of two options (I would have happily allowed the second option if need be), and Jean Paul was on his way. Once again Goode delivered! My mom called me two days before I was leaving for vacation to tell me her kitchen sink was backed up. I don't live close, so I wasn't going to have a chance to get there and Goode was the first place I called (again). They were booked, but they put me on a "wait list" in case there was a cancellation. I called around to try to find anyone to help and Goode called me back before the end of the day to ask if the following morning would work - Of course! So they sent Jake, who called me when he first arrived at the house. I explained that my mom lived alone, was older (82), and he said he already had that information in her file and he knew to call me after he found the problem and before he did the work - which he did. Amazing customer service. I had an issue with a dishwasher and scheduled an appointment. When the dishwasher started leaking the night before, they guided me through how to turn off the water (for free and saving me a trip that would have cost an additional $200). At the time of the appointment, Jake guided me through every repair he was doing and took care of several smaller issues all for a fixed cost. Goode did a great job for us solving our issue with our main sewer the night the governor shut down the state with the COVID virus. They worked very hard, respected the price the gave me and even came back on Sunday to finish to make sure we had service without extra charges. They initially had to rod out our main sewer the Thursday before the governor shutdown the state. They got the flow reestablished and two days later we were blocked up again because the issue we later found out was in the city 12" service. They came back on the Saturday put in an outside 4" clean out and were able to jet the line sufficiently to get back in service. The work was well done and they were friendly, took the time to answer all my questions and explain options for us, and were efficient. They also provided sufficient camera data on the line to show it was a city issue with an enormous root ball right at our entrance to the city's line. I am very appreciative for their work. Ultimately the city came on Monday and cleared the root structure from the line but Goode got us back in service at a very difficult time with the state COVID shut down and minimized our outage.
