Went here for a date night as I had read about it in a magazine as a nice intimate setting with good food. Service: It's definitely small and quaint! Can't beat it as it's only like 6 or so tables a night! Also no worry about tipping as it's all built into the price of the meal. Food: Good but it's one of those "fancy" places so expect smaller plates. Everything had great tasting ingredients and was prepared well, but in a homey way still. Only gave it 4 stars as I expected a bit more for the price.

This was probably the best meal I've had in the DFW area in terms of food + ambiance + service all taken into consideration. I took my husband here for our 7th wedding anniversary. I was surprised I got us in because I didn't call until 2 days before but the owner was very kind and accommodating. The place is very small and only has 5 tables. We were the third table to arrive but the place had filled by the time we were finishing. One thing I love about this place is that they have a no tipping policy. That means the prices are a little higher, but you truly do get what you pay for. We were presented with a seasonal table d'hôte menu that offered a few options for each course. My first course might have been my favorite: a whole sardine served with greens and a spicy remoulade and cucumber tomato salad. The sardine was crispy with just the right salt level and that salad was magic. The remoulade really was spicy, too, but everything was well-balanced. For the salad course I ordered a hearts of palm salad while my husband got a panzanella. Both were delicious. I hate overdressed salads so I was so happy to see how light and carefully dressed my salad course was. For the main courses they had New Zealand venison in two ways (both were surf and turf dishes) on the menu and we decided to give it a try. My husband got loin medallions over gnocchi with shrimp and I got a tenderloin that was served with langoustines and a Gorgonzola sauce. Okay, so I wasn't sure about combining seafood with Gorgonzola, and I wasn't sure about pairing venison with seafood, but I was happy to be proven incorrect. The sauce was, indeed, a little rich and strong so I didn't use all of it but it was still a really nice pairing with the venison. The venison, in addition, was perfectly cooked. I added a cross section picture so you can see just how perfect. The vegetables that accompanied our meal were vibrant and seasonal and delicious. My only regret is I couldn't quite finish everything because I was too full. For drinks we shared a bottle of wine (the selection is excellent, by the way) and instead of doing a dessert we opted for a glass of 40-year-old tawny port. It was delicious. After dinner service, the owner, who cooks everything himself with only one sous chef in the kitchen, came and talked with us for a good 15 minutes and he could not have been more delightful. In addition, our server was attentive and polite without ever hovering. The best part was because they only take 5 reservations a night, we never felt rushed because the staff said no one else was coming in so we could be there as long as we wanted. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we were there for over 2 hours enjoying ourselves. All-in-all, I would highly recommend this place to anyone

This was such a great experience. Wonderful food and great atmosphere. I loved the no tipping and pre fixe menu (so that we didn't go above our budget). Very reasonable prices for such amazing food.

We have been going to Gorji's for many years and is absolutely one of our favorite restaurants. His attention to detail combined with his immense knowledge of how to use different flavors is unmatched! We have our anniversary dinner here every year and will continue to for years to come.

We arrived at 2pm and they didn't have the server staff going to full power, but we so enjoyed the art deco environment, food, drinks and staff service overall. Just had to wait a bit here and there for a server to return when we were ready for more drink orders from the bar. All bartenders and servers were very skilled and customer service oriented, Even Coast probably needed one server more or something as it got full by 3 as the hostess had told me. Love the art deco mermaid pins the female staff wore, plus other unique thought out accoutrements. We like to share plates and loved everything we had! The oysters, burrata, smoked clam chowder, yellowtail curd, smoked salmon dip with homemade potato chips, and the fried cod, frites and Cole slaw. Some of us had cocktails- all great, then we all switched to wine, then finished with espresso martini and amazing dessert. Everything was expertly hand crafted (cocktails), and the food expertly prepared so our high praise and compliments to the Chef, Sous, Cooks, Servers, Hostess and Restaurant Manager, who did stop by and check on us. Thanks for a great experience! We'll return!

Friend recommended we try this place over going to Kenny's....it didn't even compare. The food was…read moreexcellent. There's just a thoughtfulness at Kenny's you just don't find here. I got a lemon dropped....it came with a huge piece of cotton candy (aka "citrus candy floss") on top that the waiter didn't bother to tell me I need to push down into the glass. He did warn me it was going to be an extremely sweet drink....and it was. I then thought I'd try a white cosmo. Good drink, but they use a craft ice cube with a flower in it....and then put it in a shallow glass. So at some point, the ice cube was just resting on my nose so I could drink. How has no one noticed this flaw? He preferred the smoke signal over the long watch. He said the long watch had a flavor he just didn't particularly enjoy. Shared some appetizers: cheeseburger was pretty good. He really liked the oysters...and that they serve the mignonette on the side. And he really, really enjoyed the mignonette. I don't enjoy salmon, but thought we'd try the dip. It didn't turn me into a salmon lover, but he thought it was pretty good. I got the bucatini and it was delicious. Great chunks of crab. I was pretty full so took most of it home....it did not reheat as well as I would've like. But, it's a cream sauce, so that's expected. He got the tagliatelle. He also enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't get it again. He just wasn't blown away. Just a lot of little things that would make me drive down the road rather than come back.

Our waiter ( guy with braids) was extremely helpful, friendly, and informative. ) I wanted a kir royale ( they couldn't make because they didn't have chambord). However, he and manager came to the table to offer options. I tried a French 76. We ordered calamari which was light, crisp, and fresh. It was delicious and prepared perfectly. I ordered the stuffed flounder ( substituted red fish for flounder) with the Ponchatrain sauce ( shrimp and crabmeat in creamy sauce) which was delicious. I kept the potatoes with peppers ( prepared beautifully ) however, I will try another potato dish that I don't think will compete or overpower the fish. The fish was hot, flaky, light and delicious. They also serve a dish of garlicky, buttery dish of bread and hush puppies as an appetizer.Loved the bread dish. The service, food, ambience are well worth the drive. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes that they offer. We were too full to order dessert. Maybe I'll get one on my next visit.

The food is consistently excellent. We went for dinner on a Saturday night (reservations are highly recommended). The wife had the chicken as a main entree. It was outstanding. The chicken was smoky, tender, and moist. It has a bevy of vegetables that are cooked perfectly. It comes with a side and she got the baked potato with everything. She loved everything about this entree. For me, it was an easy decision. I LOVE their wedge salad and started with that. The price has gone up a bit but it remains outstanding. For some reason, the waiter gave me a small but it was fine. The small in 2026 is $7.99 and the regular size is now $11.99. For my entree, I ordered from the appetizer menu and got the crab cake. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the crab cake. It has to be the best in Dallas. It is one half pound of pure crab meat, no filler. The price has gone up to $26.99 so it is not cheap, but it is outstanding quality. The cake was perfectly cooked and the crab was sweet. It comes with three dips but to me, I want to taste the crab so I did not use them. The kid had the old fashioned fries and devoured them. Our server, Mark, was attentive and efficient. Service was excellent as usual. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants in Dallas and IMO the best in the line of Kenny's restaurants. We started with drinks, which were really good, and I loved the cool, puffy bread they bring to the table! My husband and I ordered the crab cake and tenderloin appetizers. The crab cake was okay, but it wasn't super flavorful to me. The tenderloin appetizer, though, was AMAZING! We also had dessert, and between the bread, drinks, appetizers, and dessert, we were completely full and never even made it to an entrée. Unfortunately, the service was questionable. Our server had difficulty communicating in English, which led to a costly misunderstanding. When we ordered crab, she never asked what type of crab we wanted and instead assumed king crab, which is significantly more expensive than other options. As a result, our bill was much higher than expected. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill without it being mentioned to us beforehand. While restaurants may choose to add gratuity in certain situations, customers should be clearly informed so there are no surprises. My advice: enjoy the food, but be very specific when ordering. Confirm exactly what type of crab you're getting, verify the pricing, and check your bill carefully. Also remember that gratuity should be clearly communicated and not assumed. Better communication would have made this a much better overall experience.I'd rate it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Great food, but the service and communication issues took away from the experience.
