Yep...back again for my favorite French Dip with au jus and fries! Good service...nice wait staff. We always have a good lunch here...

I can clearly comprehend as to why this eatery is a local favorite. The building is fun, the decor is cool, the food is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly. Our server was a strikingly beautiful woman named Parker. She was fast, efficient, bubbly, personable and simply good at her job. We had drinks within two minutes of sitting down and our order taken within five minutes. Ten minutes after that, we were eating. That's impressive on its own but when you factor in they were wall to wall busy on a Sunday? It's crazy impressive. The overall efficiency of the kitchen staff must be impressive to watch. Our food was traditional American fare and it was made extremely well. My veggie skillet with pancakes was a Denny's type dish but larger, with more fresh veggies. My pancakes were fluffy and perfectly made. The BLT my friend ordered was twice as much food as she eats in a sitting and she had to box it up and take it home. I really enjoyed my breakfast/lunch here and I believe this will be my go to restaurant when I'm in the far north area of Denver.

Great place, great service. Our server Maureen is always happy, remembers our name and what we drink. She is spot on the best waitress here. Kudos to a job well done, when so many don't want to work.

Classic diner with friendly service and delicious food. Order a burger and the patty melt with onion rings. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The vibe is fun and service is great. Can't wait to come back to try breakfast!

Daniella was our wait person was very personable. My coffee cup never went empty. Food arrived quickly and was hot Plenty of food at a fair price. Restaurant has a 50s theme Great place to meet friends for a great breakfast and conversation. Noise level is fine Does serve alcohol. Has large tables and booths

This was our first time coming to the restaurant and we picked it because it was close to where we were shopping. We had no idea that it was kind of a 50s style restaurant. The service was incredible. We walked in and the second we sat down she asked us what we want to drink and brought our coffees over like 30 seconds later. The food took a little longer but that's because it was a Saturday morning and it was really packed in there but the food came out hot and it was delicious!! I think this is now one of our favorite breakfast places to go.

Wow, I'm impressed by this little diner! This is a solid 4/5. The interior is kitschy with 50s nostalgia decor. I came for breakfast, and ordered the strawberry shortcake French toast. This is crazy... it is made with real poundcake! The result was a decadent French toast and not overly sweet. They have vegetarian options and gluten-free bread. (Of note- nothing specifically vegan). The menu is pretty big and includes a Mexican breakfast section. There is a full bar including liquor, beer, and wine. I ordered a Rumchata spiked hot chocolate. It was delicious! I'll be back! This is a great place to come with older folks since they have a special menu with discounted prices for seniors. This is also a great place for kids since there are a lot of fun things to look at. Good place to come for low key brunch, lunch, or dinner!

Our waitress was amazing - friendly, made great recommendations, and talked us through the menu, answer all of our questions thoroughly. We ordered the streak tartare app, clearly a staff favorite and they put a unique twist on the standard dish with mushrooms and a divine Dijon mustard sauce. The bread was baked to perfection - crunchy but soft all at the same time. My friend got the salmon, cooked to medium and I got the Jamaican jerk chicken which was not very spicy and contained a lot of flavor. The mango chutney and green mojo combo was complex and paired well with the chicken. My friend devoured she salmon so one can only assume it was delicious! I would highly recommend if you are looking for a date night or dinner with a friend and you're in the Broomfield area, Hickory and Ash is the spot!

Seated in a booth. Promptly approached by server Harumy, quickly provided with a hot carafe of coffee and condiments. The ambiance is clean, cheerful, and inviting. There is music but it isn't too loud. I ordered the mini-monkey bread (pictured), essentially a biscuit dappled with cinnamon sugar streusel. I didn't love it; I thought it tasted too salty. Still, I finished it so it couldn't have been that bad! I ordered the Breakfast Quesadilla (eggs, chiles, cheese, onions, drizzled with avocado cream and served with red salsa), which was very good. Harumy checked on me, and brought the check promptly. You pay at the counter, not directly to the server. I would have given 4.5 stars but Yelp doesn't enable this, so I rounded up to 5 stars. Definitely give Bluebird Cafe a try!

I had to ask the hostess to ask our waitress to bring our drinks because we never saw our waitress again after placing our order. She brought the waters and 1 minute later our food arrived lukewarm. The potatoes were not cooked. We were never checked on again. Then the check came, but the extra bacon I ordered "to go" had not arrived. So she went to get that. We paid at the front with the hostess. It was an extra $5 for 2 pieces of bacon. $2.50 per slice. Is that inflation or price gouging? This is the first time in my life I have never left a tip. I'm usually a really good tipper. And I feel bad about it, but I also want to be taken care of in order to give a tip for good service. This was not good service and the food was mediocre. I completely don't remember what everyone ordered but I DO remember all the things I tried at the table. Tater Tots - parmesan & chives / house onion sour cream - nothing outstanding about this but the kids/teens/young adults LOVED it and may have inhaled it in one breath. Roasted Cauliflower - saffron cream / chermoula / sumac / miso aioli / crispy onion - the saffron cream was a nice touch of essence and the crispy onion brought a good sweetness and texture to the dish. Honey Bourbon Wings - fried chicken wings / honey bourbon glaze / dill pickles - this was FABULOUS, good fry, not burnt and the glaze was perfect, not ooey gooey sticky, just sticky to the touch. Wild Boar Bucatini - wild boar ragu / cured egg yolk / parmesan / chives - this was my dinner order. I'm always excited when there's bucatini on the menu. It just holds enough sauce in the hollows to satisfy me. The ragu was cooked well, good sauce maybe it needed just a little pinch more of salt for my liking. Parking in the neighborhood is not difficult. We had an airbnb down the street and walked here in less than 5 minutes. There's indoor and outdoor seating as well as a covered patio-ish area. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Lafayette!

I like that the menu is constantly changing, so I can always try something new. There are usually a few staples, too. The tacos are priced reasonably so you can try several flavors. Every now and then there's one I don't like as much as the others, but that doesn't ruin the experience. The ramen is priced well for the amount you get, too. The only thing I consistently haven't liked is their guacamole. But I do like their avocado and salsas. They have a decent happy hour and, recently added, a "taco Tuesday." The kids menu options are pretty good, too. The hot dogs are a hit. Sometimes the buttered noodles are, too. The tiki drinks are great fun, and they're always trying something new. In the past, they've put lemonades in fun cups (like the hedgehog cup) so our kids can enjoy a "fancy drink." The service is pretty fast and consistent. The broth was rich and flavorful, the spice level was perfect (quiet hot but still maintaining a good balance of flavors), and the pork shoulder was tender but still has a bit of nice toothsomeness. Overall, this was an excellent bowl of ramen comparable to any of the top spots in Denver. The only slight downside is that the broth was just a tough too salty for my liking, and I would've preferred a soy marinated egg over a soft boiled egg.
