Wow where do I begin. Great place for breakfast. Lousy for dinner. Ordered steak and both came out like a rock so we started to eat our sides and we ate the shrimp that came with it. We told our server we could not eat the steak and had a hard time cutting it. Tough meat. So we chose something cheaper off the menu. Finally they brought out 2 7.99 orders of beef roast. They did not bring our sides back out or even give us new sides. Just this small white plate with the meat. Worst of all this is not a hamburger. So why was there a 1/2 of a thin flat burger in there. Totally disgusting Think they were obviously pissed . Should report to health Dept. Putting half eaten food from someone else mixed in. read more

Just ordered food for takeout today. The burger and fries were good, but the shrimp for the popcorn shrimp was u cleaned and not deveined with the dirt sac still present. Very disgusting. Won't be ordering seafood here ever again. read more

Went to breakfast around 9am on a Sunday. It was busy, but only about a 20 min wait. I got the breakfast chile rellenos and they were absolutely delicious. The rest of my group was really happy with their choices as well. Our waitress was really friendly and nice, and really on top of things until she kind of forgot about us for a while after bringing our food, though I was impressed that a busboy seemed to notice us waiting for boxes and jumped in to help. They were so busy and the waitress was clearly working hard, and apologetic, so I didn't see that as a count against the place or anything. read more

We've been here a couple times and it was okay. The service is always very friendly. Today we got take-out and they had the wrong order. Worse, there were pieces of plastic in my husband's omelette like cracked pieces of the part that keeps loaves of bread closed. Also, my chicken was funky and they didn't give us any dressing. I just hope they keep their kitchen running smooth so we can keep going. read more

Absolutely love this place!! I've been to this location and the other one a few times and I've never had an experience like today. Our server Dani went above and beyond from the moment we walked. She greeted us at the door in between taking care of her other tables and sat us immediately. She was very friendly and personably from the start to finish. She made eye contact and smiled when talking to us and got us everything we needed in a timely matter and with a smile on her face. She made the experience more than we could have imagined! Since we came in stressed out about other things going on it was a pleasant surprise to be greeted and served by such a wonderful person! MICROWAVED FOOD CHEAP FOOD QUALITY Girlfriend and I finally had our chance to eat at Great Scotts before the Xylia snowstorm came in, there had been quite a buzz about this place. The environment is fun, hands down an extremely nice and enjoyable place to be. Vibrant and colorful, it'll make you want to order a Hamburger and a cherry coke at the end of a fun Friday night. I'd give the energy of the restaurant 5 stars if i could... the food is where the problem begins. I order a California Skillet and my girlfriend ordered a Breakfast Burrito, pretty easy meals i would say... i was pretty wrong. The first thing i notice was how quick they got our meals out, not that quick is bad, but i knew speed was more important than quality. My skillet was completely cold when handed to me, while my girlfriends plate was piping hot but the inside of her burrito was cold (this restaurant is clearly using MICROWAVES). My skillet had chicken in it which wasn't seasoned whatsoever, tasteless and im pretty sure pre-cooked (Tasted like my chicken i used to eat when i had to meal-prep for the week) Disgusting. There was nothing good to say about my meal. My girlfriends beans were tasteless (says refried on the menu though, no judgment) but the cheese on top was still cold and side ingredients looked old. The flavor wasnt there and like i said, cold on the inside like a microwavable burrito on a piping hot plate. It wasnt worth the 10 dollars we had to pay for the burrito. Overall, the environment is nice but the food quality is absolute garbage. Would like to go back if the standards were a bit higher. We went in at 230pm on New years day. We were sat relatively fast and asked what we wanted to drink before we even sat down to decide. We ordered the cheeseburger and the sampler. It took so long to get any of the sauces or mayonnaise for the burger, it was cooled off by then. Food was cooked very well, but the service was sub-par. We were never given the chance or asked for refills on our sodas or coffee. Never enjoyable to eat without anything to drink. The Uber Eats tablet was going off in the dining room for a while and employees just ignored it. Not an enjoyable sound to be listening to. I still recommend this location because the food is good, but the service could really use some training. Was done with the review and after waiting 25 minutes we still don't have refills or checks after finishing our meal, one of the chefs started singing music so loud the entire restaurant could hear and continued for an entire song. I didn't come to get serenaded in Spanish by a tone deaf chef. read more

Visiting for business, stayed on east coast time by having breakfast here every morning at 6am. The combination of 50s decor and streaming 80s music videos may not be for everyone, but we loved it. The people and service were excellent. The place is quirky, but clean, that includes the bathroom. I had the Denver omelet and breakfast burrito. Solid fare, portions are great, order to delivery time is fast. It's a diner, not a pretentious foodie experience. If that's what you're looking for you'll enjoy this oasis. read more

I read some great reviews on breakfasts at this restaurant so I stopped here to check it out for myself this morning, and couldn't be more pleased. My server was Lilly, who clearly answered my questions, made sure I was happy with my food, brought me refills on my coffee without my having to ask (which was delicious as well as extra hot--just the way I like it!) extra cinnamon butter for my delicious pineapple upside down pancakes when she heard how much I like it, and just all-around excellent service. My choice of eggs and meat was included! All of that for under $14 PLUS she gave me several smiles along with her very friendly service, so of course I have a desire to return again another day. read more

My son had a soccer game in this area so we tried out this place right after. We came in late afternoon (Saturday) so it wasn't busy at all. We got seated and helped immediately and the staff was super friendly. I had the Love Me Tenderloin sandwich and my husband had the Grilled Teriyaki Salmon plate. My older boy had the chicken fried steak meal and the toddler had some chicken tenders (I wasn't fast enough in getting their pics before they scarfed them down). We LOVE Great Scott's! We're both from the Midwest, and we remember growing up as kids going to the nearest Maid-Rite or some other 50's themed diner. There was one night over a year ago we were just looking for some good ol' American food, and lo and behold, Great Scott's. The 5-stars I'm giving isn't necessarily for 5-star food, although everything on their menu is tasty and they have SO much to pick from. Their service really is great and makes you feel right at home. We've been going there a few times a month ever since for our tenderloins and milkshakes. They also have some really awesome deals - 2 for 1 milkshakes on Thursday nights and 2 for 1 margaritas on Friday nights when their special is shrimp po boys. Also, don't even get me started on the breakfast. Again, SO much to choose from and some of the best diner breakfast. Last point is you really can't beat the atmosphere! They always have themed diner music playing, art of Elvis, Marilyn, and more line the walls, and they have some great throwback candy for purchase. If you go, ask for Kelly as your waiter if she's working, she makes the best milkshakes and alcoholic drinks! YES, a 50's diner with fully stocked alcohol, what more could you want!!! read more

I live down the street from Great Scotts and come here often. It has a cute 50's diner feel and offers traditional American dishes. Their chicken fried chicken is a must try. On Wednesdays, they have specials on their shakes. I usually order their chorizo skillet. It has potatoes, green chili, cheese, chorizo and comes with toast. It's fattening, but delicious! The portions are pretty large, so there is always leftovers. If you want something sweet after your meal, try the sundae. You can't go wrong with that! read more

While I can say that Great Scott's still has some of the best service around, I've been really disappointed with the food over our last several visits. We've gotten watered-down orange juice, limp salads, slimy lettuce, tasteless mashed potatoes, overcooked items that sometimes taste re-heated - very disappointing. We were also told that tomatoes were only available upon special request. A couple of times now, one or more of our party has become ill and queasy after eating here. That never used to happen. The place is always very busy, but it seems like they're starting to cut corners for some reason - both on ingredient quality and care in preparation. The wait staff are, as always, fantastic, but the food is no longer acceptable. read more

They did overcook the scrambled eggs a bit and could have more promptly refilled coffee, but those were the only negatives. Easy to overlook in exchange for a great vibe. But if you find yourself here, and Diana is tending to your table, you should find your start to the day all the brighter. We look for cleanliness, it was clean. Food quality... Fantastic!
