I ordered hummus with veggies and hummus was so watery and gross and the veggies were old and rotten and barely even got any ! The perfect breakfast/lunch place in brea to go to! With a check in you can receive a free cup of coffee! The seating inside is very nice and has a very outdoorsy vibe to it. There is also outdoor seating if you want to sit in the fresh air. If you have young ones, they have a small table for them to sit at and draw on the white boards which I thought was super cute! I ordered the southwest scramble with egg white for $8.95. It was not only aesthetically pleasing but it tasted wonderful and was super filling. My friends ordered the breakfast burrito and one of my friends felt like the soyrizo tasted a little burnt. One of the staff members overheard her comment and offered to remake the burrito free of charge. He came back and apologized for the previous burrito and hope that the new one tasted better which it did (according to my friend). That was super sweet of him and I really value their customer service! There are a lot of things on the menu and they all seem to be made super fresh and very organic. I've enjoyed MOST of the dishes I've tried here. One thing that I think doesn't suit my preference is the style of rice. I believe it's only one kind of grain for all rice based dishes... from the chimichuri bowl to the poke bowl, the rice is all the same and it's a tad too chewy/firm for my preference but the folks I've visited with haven't minded at all. The cauliflower bites are my favorite menu item. The texture, the flavor, it's all perfection. My least favorite menu item would have to be the breakfast tacos. They didn't make a cohesive thought for me. The pickled onions seemed a bit out of place. The drinks are great, the lemonades are delicious. Don't forget your Fermensch kombucha! Hate to have to write this because this is one my favorite places to eat but I had the unfortunate issue with bugs outside on their patio. I know artificial turf can be tough to clean but also a spot bugs can thrive. My daughter and I sat outside on their patio at the benches. I couldn't even get through my meal because my legs had been itching. After we moved inside I noticed I had bite marks all over my legs. I notified the girl that they need to spray and clean the outside as I had been bitten all over my legs just from sitting at the benches. The flavor is very subtle, making it a nice accompaniment to your entree instead of a crazy boom of flavor in your mouth. Miso salmon salad: The salad was very fresh and it felt endless to me! I had to take some of it home...the salad was also cooked very well. My only criticism would be that the dressing was too salty for me, though I'm sure that came with the miso. They all sounded and looked delicious but we both ended up getting bowls. I had the Mediterrean bowl without peppers or onions. It had chicken, tomatoes, olives and brown rice, which I am also a fan of. I ordered an iced latte and my friend got the a fruit juice that they let her sample before she committed, which is cool. My husband and I (the kids too!) love coming to Green Tomato. We usually go to the Brea location. It's the one place where when needing Gluten Free food we can all find something. It's quick, healthy, and we appreciate the homemade ingredients- their sauces, drinks and bakes good in particular. The staff is great and we come so often we use their rewards too.
