I love Gregory's!!!! Their coffee is wonderful and their vegan lemon loaf is the only coffee-shop loaf cake I've ever bought more than once because unlike most, it is not overly sweet and tastes like actual food. Their vegan breakfast scramble sandwich is incredible - better than I could have ever expected. The rosemary bread it comes on is out of control delicious and almost buttery-tasting. My mom (not vegan) tried their New Yorker breakfast sandwich with chicken eggs, dairy cheese, and bacon once, but had a bite of my vegan scramble and has since only ordered the vegan. It's too good! I am docking only one star for inconsistencies in customer service: sometimes the employees are incredibly nice, helpful and welcoming, and other times they are disinterested and standoffish. It truly depends on who is working. Overall though, I love my Gregory's and am a proud "Gregular." read more

Amazing menu - you can't go wrong with anything on this menu, especially the mariscos!! The Tuna Crudo and Sea Bass Ceviche were my favorites. Their signature cocktails are a perfect compliment to their dinner offering - make sure to order either This Guey or That Guey off their cocktail menu. The interior is beautiful and sophisticated. I love the coffee in here like so much and even made my brother love it too. I come here always but just don't check in or whatever and order the same thing. I don't really order anything with whip cream but tonight my brother wanted one and he lovess whip cream. I was DISGUSTED with what I witnessed tonight. When the Barista placed the whip cream on my brothers latte. The girl on the picture (the girl behind my coffee) said "Omygod I want some whip cream" andI WAS STUNNED with what the barista did. She literally placed the Whip cream's can nozzle on the girl's mouth. I was shocked! So I literally went away after what I just witnessed. What if she had something and the whip creams nozzle had been touched on her mouth. I feel bad for the customers who's gonna get that whip cream. I attached two pictures in here. So Soooo GOOD!! Stopped super early to grab a cup of coffee to wake me up. Ended up getting the Salted Caramel Cold Brew. I got it with oat milk. It was simply perfect. Not too strong and not too sweet. It had the percect balance of salt to caramel. the inside is also very cute, you can come sit to get work done or grab a cup and walk by the water which is a 5 min walk. Stopped by the Newport location to warm up on a cold windy morning before heading to NYC with family. Ordered 3 items and all were horrible. Simple coffee with cream and Splenda tasted awfully burnt. Wife's cappuccino was bitter and the slice of coffee crumb cake was hard as a rock. They took my name for order and never said it, as I found one drink at the end of the counter and another drink and the food with the online pick ups. We were also there for apx 30 min and the whole time a homeless person was bathing in the bathroom preventing customers who kept standing in line to actually be able to use it. read more

I walk by these in Manhattan all the time. Now there is one attached to my building and I can't avoid it anymore. To be completely honest, the first time I went (yesterday) I got a cold brew. Friendly and prompt service, subpar quality cold brew. I would have given them a 2, maybe a 3 star review. Came back for a second time (today) and chose an iced lavender latte with oat milk...and I'm tempted to do cartwheels down the halls of my office. Partially because of the much needed caffeine boost, and partially because there is nothing that makes me more giddy than hearing a coffee shop has lavender flavor. Service was smiley and quick again. Line moved fast. I'm a fan. The convenience is what drove me in here, and the convenience and the quality of the items I like are what will keep me coming back when I'm pinched for time and can't scamper to some other coffee shops on a busy work day. read more

Ok so while my main default Greg's is the 80 Broad location near my work, this Greg's is on the way to the PATH and where I go to nearly every morning. My apartment is actually wedged literally between this location and the exchange place Greg's hut I come here specifically for the amazing staff and their quality personalities. I'll get a coffee in the afternoon by my office around 2 or 3 - but I'll usually stop in here in the morning to grab something on the ride into the city. The coffee is always on point, and when Jalissa is on the espresso machine or not, she always makes sure my drinks are thee best part of my morning. The staff even learned all my orders (yes plural) because even though I switch up between latte americano or cold brew, they always know how I like to have them, it's very impressive. Besides getting a great cup every time, it's always my pleasure seeing everyone and chatting with the crew & honestly catching up with Yaseen or Marissa makes it feel like you're just chatting with friends over coffee, before getting started with your day. I ordered a small cold brew with light ice because I don't want my coffee diluted. Elijah handed me a cup that was 3/4 full. I asked if he can fill my cup with coffee and he said he had to charge me extra because I asked for light ice. Never heard of such a thing. In addition, Elijah did not have the best attitude. Total fan of Gregory's at Newport. It's conveniently located next to the Westin (where I was staying) and of course the PATH and the mall. Not only solid coffee, but a nice looking array of pastries and fresh fruit smoothies! Smoothie variety wasn't huge (read: this is not a smoothie spot), but the 4 or 5 options was good enough for me! Coffee wasn't too strong, and went down pretty smooth, although I ended up with a latte (and they do have non-fat milk, FYI). Service was also so friendly, warm and quick. Plenty of seats and I'd imagine they have free wifi (but, don't hold me to that!). I went the three days I was staying in JC and it was a great start to the AM and a wayyyyyy better option than Starbucks! read more

I visited this location three times while I was in Jersey City for training. The experiences have been inconsistent. I ordered a large latte on all 3 occasions to conquer the long days ahead. During 2 of the visits, the milk was frothed nicely. Smooth, creamy and at the right temperature, I enjoyed the drink. Sadly, for one of the visits, it was a complete miss as the milk was very overheated. It also took a while before I recieved my drink, so I didn't want to ask for a re-make and there were not that many people in line compared to my first visit. I felt like I visited a different coffee shop! I also tried their croissant ($3.00), walnut & cranberry scone ($3.50) and cheddar & jalapeno scone ($3.75). On the paper bag, they advertise these as freshly baked each day. Not sure if that meant in-house or by a supplier, but either way, the baked goods were pretty average. Nothing to rave about, although my favourite out of the 3 would be the walnut cranberry scone. I would come here more for the convenience of the location to my hotel, but given the inconsistency, I feel there are definitely better options in the area. read more

I've always walked past this place on my way to grab lunch (usually at Just Salad upstairs), so I figured I'd try this place after my morning workout. Since this place is in a corporate building in the middle of Newport on a Saturday, it was casual-morning busy. Not going to lie, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of options on their menu, but in a very good way. You want coffee, you've got everything from a basic Americano to your craft drinks (turmeric latte, anyone?). Cold pressed juice and smoothies? All yours. Pastries? Yup. Toasts? Sure. I didn't know where to start. Ultimately, I decided on being "that girl" and ordered a cold brew with almond milk...despite it being 40-something degrees outside. Service was super quick, with prices on the higher side ($4 for a medium). The coffee itself was solid, not too bitter, but not overly sweet either. Down the middle, but that's not a bad thing. I order a ton of matcha lattes from different Gregory's locations and other places. While Gregory's definitely lags behind some boutique (or other) cafes, this one seems to be even worse than some others. Today I got a large matcha latte with oat, and honestly I don't think the barista bothered to put any actual matcha beyond a slight dash. The whole beverage tastes nothing unlike a steamed cup of oat milk, with some faint green color showing. Seriously feel ripped off paying almost $7 for a cup of milk. Also like mentioned at another Gregory's, they don't have unsweetened almond milk. The app never works so I have to go order in store and there was only one barista working (the other had to tend to the cashier). Even though there were only a few people in the store, I still had to wait almost 10 minutes for a simple order. I've also ordered from Gregory's extra matcha in my latte, and multiple times I doubt there was any. So I paid extra for nothing. read more

I placed an order via Doordash...never ordering from here again. First, what kind of store not only gives me the wrong coffee, but also doesn't label it at all, so I can't even figure out whether I can drink it or not? To make matters worse, they don't allow you to contact them in any way--only via automated text and you can't speak to an actual human being. It's such a bad joke. Second, they didn't tell me that they didn't have the 1 vegan item listed on their menu, so the Dasher ended up having to call me after they forced him to wait for an hour, and then physically handed his own phone to the barista. You can't even call me to let me know when your food is out of stock?! You have to force the deliveryperson to do this?! You can't even refund me?! This place must have just opened. I work nearby and saw it for the first time today, so I decided I had to drop in and give it a try. It was a definite hipster vibe, a nice space to work, and is quite clean. I ordered a cold brew and got it quickly, but they didn't have any straws (I attribute that to working out the opening day kinks). The reason for the 3 is that the cold brew just isn't that great. This Gregory's is my go-to cafe in Jersey City! The coffee is amazing -- I prefer the coffee here to Starbucks and other coffee shops -- and the staff is so friendly. I don't even have to state my order anymore, they remember! I also love the interior. It's clean, the layout is nice and spacious, and the outlets and wifi are great. I can easily work here for a few hours (and there are other regulars who do, too). They're also open later than most coffee shops -- so you can swing by after work and grab a cup. Whenever I have friends in town, I suggest they stop here for coffee, and they always love it. Highly recommend! read more

Only a tad pricier (you know the likes, like 99% of them hipster trends which serve our aesthetic needs as well--because no matter what folks would have you believe, we are a judgy lot... If you don't agree, it's fine, but your eyes don't lie... Presentations are important to make for substantial impressions... Though who really knows what makes people tick..?--anyway). Ample table space (for computer work or whatever else in your life requires a suspended ample surface). And if you can't score one, a couple of bars are available by the window...--if you could score a seat. Baked goods call your fancy, gastronomic curiosity and boldness, from the counter, as well as light fares from the menu board, though we haven't--the light fares... But the guys and I did lust over (the few times we went): the dark CHOCO cookies covered in a soft veil of white dusting, the CHOCO chip cookie, and the CHOCO buckwheat balls, who knew?--though my fave was definitely the dark cookie; and gave them a good washing with coffee. (Or you can help yourself to complimentary water with lemon kisses available in a cool glass dispenser from the counter.) This corner isn't bad at all, esp. on sunny days with the view of the water just steps away... (What's bad is folks that line up for bathroom access, unabashed... Which would be okay... If they made a purchase. But looked like not a single item was bought--and they don't seem like regular patrons who were just desperately called by nature in passing... I could be wrong about all this; I'll charge my shenanigans to my rosary if I could find it... But if I'm right, at least wear even the slightest form of hesitation or apology on your faces...--because all the cocky impositions roaming about these days are out of control, and that's saying the least... I need to start off by saying I've NEVER written a review before for anything, especially food service related so that speaks to how highly impressed I was. I stumbled upon this little gem today, off a whim and have to say this was probably my most superb experience in a coffee shop(and I spend lots of time in many, eps NYC). It doesn't have the chain coffee shop-esque vibe from the staff, which is really humbling. I had the pleasure of being tended to by Yakeen(sorry if I butchered the spelling!) and he absolutely blew me away! It's a very rare occasion for barista's to go above and beyond in their interactions with customers so I was pleasantly taken aback by this. He didn't shy away from conversing with me or recommending things off the menu which was ultimately a result of awesome coffee talk. I usually have conversations like this with other coffee loving friends, never had this experience in a coffee shop with employees. He asked me about my personal taste and experience with coffee which is why I was so impressed. It makes the experience and coffee all that more special. It's really intriguing to me especially when young folks know about coffee, how and where it's harvests, all these cool things about it's history/ people who tend to it and genuinely appreciate the craft. It was definitely a memorable coffeehouse experience and highly recommend if you're in the Jersey City area. Will definitely visit again! read more

Delish coffee but music is so loud it gave me a headache! LOL! I thought I was at a rave. Tried the mini donuts - a tad dried out. Friend had the full size donut and it was pretty greasy. SO avoid them if you aren't into that but heck - donuts aren't the healthiest thing so... Located near PATH. Great for a coffee fix TO GO unless you like club music. read more
