I spent approximately $50 at this establishment, and I want to recognize Brianna for being professional, welcoming, and providing excellent customer service. Unfortunately, my experience with Jalisa was very different. After tasting the avocado toast, I approached the two team members in the kitchen and casually mentioned that the avocado tasted as though it may have been sitting for some time and was possibly past its best quality. Jalisa immediately responded that the avocado comes packaged and is not made in-house. I clarified that I wasn't questioning where it came from, only commenting on the taste and quality. She then responded defensively, "I opened it this morning." At that point, I explained that I wasn't interested in arguing over feedback about the food and walked away. Unfortunately, the interaction left a negative impression and overshadowed what had otherwise been a pleasant experience. Customer feedback should be received professionally, even when an employee may disagree with it. Jalisa would benefit from additional customer service training, particularly around receiving feedback without becoming defensive. My iced latte also made by Jalisa was terrible. Croissant, macaroon and scones were great. Sadly, based on this interaction, I don't plan to return. read more

Unpleasant First Visit I recently had my first experience at Gregory's Coffee in Newport - and unfortunately, it was far from the positive encounters I've had in the past. While attempting to grab sugar packets from a container by the coffee bar, a barista abruptly snatched it away, instructing me to go to a station around the corner. As a first-time visitor, I was unaware of the layout and felt embarrassed by the unwarranted confrontation. The barista's rudeness extended to refusing to provide her name when I sought to address the issue. Her response, "I don't have a name," was both unprofessional and disheartening. This incident greatly marred what should have been a welcoming introduction to a customer at a coffee shop. While my previous interactions have been pleasant, this experience leaves a lasting negative impression. I hope the management addresses such behavior to maintain the positive reputation the coffee shop has earned over time.... read more
