Bottom line, I was more than satisfied and recommend The Daily Feast 100%. I was in town for my father's funeral. Staying in a downtown hotel, I wanted comfort and variety instead of the same old "complimentary breakfast". I asked the desk clerk for suggestions, and he offered two options. I decided to try The Daily Feast first, and I never bothered with the other place. As I entered I was cheerfully greeted and directed to a spot at the counter. There is a winding counter and several booths. I could smell the delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. It felt cozy and welcoming. Coffee was delivered and the special was enthusiasticly explained. I opted to try the Chilaquiles. Amazing! Spicy sauce, fresh tortillas, hot perfectly cooked eggs, yummy. I had a different dish every morning and they could ALL easily be my favorite. I went here for breakfast every day of my stay. My last day I was dressed up for my father's funeral. My server (who's name has now escaped me a year later) asked about my change of attire. I told him where I was going after breakfast. He immediately held up his arms and offered a warm hug. It was a human moment that I won't forget. I am so happy that I found this special place.

We hung onto the aioli so hubby could dip his fries. My meal was so good. The chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. The batter was just perfect and crisp. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. Gravy was rich and well-seasoned. Collard greens were so tasty. The balance of textures was just perfection. I ended up having to pack up a piece of chicken because it was so much food, but I enjoyed every bite I was able to take of my meal. The dining area is spacious and has a lot of natural light. The servers are very attentive. I had the American breakfast which was very satisfying; the bacon looked to be overcooked, but that was just one side. I like my bacon somewhat crispy. Overall, it hit the spot. You can tell from my yelp reviews, I don't really have a lot of breakfast reviews. But I had this saved as a must try and it is in NE and not far from our place. So this morning when hubs said our pregnant daughter was coming over for breakfast I jumped at the chance to suggest this spot. The menu is brunchy in that it is a prix fix breakfast menu for $28.50 and there are 3 columns with 4-5 choices. Drinks, savory and sweet items. Boozy drinks are about $10-15 extra. There is also drinking chocolate, teas, coffee or juice. (Orange and grapefruit). The girls said the orange juice was really good. But I can't drink citrus and drinking chocolate would've been too heavy for me, so I opted for coffee. This is the only column that I could take or leave. Savory - all of us I think had something different and not one item was bad. I opted for the popcorn chicken and cheesy grits and it came with a poached egg that had a beautiful gooey egg yolk in the middle. The chicken was crispy and cooked to a crispy perfection on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside. The grits were so yummy and creamy as well. *chefs kiss* My hubs ordered the buttermilk biscuits with chorizo gravy and that was also a stellar choice. I had a bite and the biscuits were crisp on the outside and the gravy with the chorizo had such good flavor. Sweet - I had the Tres Leches French toast and once again, it was perfectly crisp on the outside and cooked to perfection on the inside with what I assume was a tres leches condensed milk concoction. It came with some berries and cream drizzled around it was perfect. My hubs had the graham cracker waffles and I am going to say it again, crispy and golden on the outside and cooked perfectly. I didn't eat any of the other items that everyone else ordered, like the baked egg and potatoes or the crepes, so I cannot comment on them, but I did take photos to share. But there are so many photos already I doubt mine offer anything new. I'm not usually a breakfast or brunch person but this was really good. 10/10 delicios on every single item and this place gets 6 stars out of 5.
