Had a great experience here getting a mocha with oat milk and the vegan banana bread loaf! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very clean. I was able to easily get a table on the street and people watch. The vegan pastry was so delicious and had the best texture. It was perfectly sweet. The mocha was also so decadent and the coffee was very fresh. The decoration was lovely and I felt so relaxed and at ease here. I will definitely return soon when in the area!

If you're a coffee lover who values both flavor and sustainability, Groundwork Coffee is a must-visit (or must-order)! From the moment you walk in, there's a cozy, earthy vibe that matches their mission: organic, ethically sourced coffee done right. I tried their Vanilla Latte -- it was smooth, bold, and not overly sweet. You can really taste the quality of the beans. Their latte had a rich, creamy with just the right hint of natural vanilla. Their baked goods are also worth mentioning -- the pastries are fresh, not overly processed, and pair perfectly with their drinks.

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm so glad I did! Groundwork Coffee is a cute neighborhood coffee shop and study spot, serving up delicious lunches, breakfast and coffee to-go. Known for their cold brews, I got their Horchata Cold Brew. My two favorite things combined into one and I loved it! It was sweet, creamy, and cinnamon-y. The staff was super kind and quick! I'll have to come back to try their lunch bowls soon!

The most mid coffee. And the matcha gets a 0/5. Like just take it off the menu... The service was nice and there was a good amount of space so there's that! But with the plethora of coffee/matcha options in Larchmont, I'd skip this place.

Hanging with my niece having coffee and "coffee tawk" about her upcoming 21st birthday celebration in Miami next week... firstly, $50 for bfast is ridiculously expensive for what we got... (including tip)... The wonderful vibe of Larchmont village has changed. People trying to park getting all pissed off and honking at one another ( seriously such uncool behavior )... way too angry attitudes on such a beautiful day. Their coffee was good! But, the experience was meh. I will NOT return here nor Larchmont Village on a weekend nor any time soon. And I am still hungry.

After spending $30 in drinks, in addition to tipping, I'm disappointed to say I regret shopping here and don't encourage anyone to choose this particular place with the many other coffee shops there are to choose from in this city. I don't appreciate employees rolling their eyes at me, rushing people through their orders, or generally acting like I'm bothering them while trying to order. I don't expect every barista to be a raging ball of sunshine, but I think managing to not be dismissive and exasperated with customers is a pretty reasonable bar to expect people to reach. Plus, aggressively putting away tables and chairs an hour before you close is kind of wild in my opinion. Doing so in a manner that is loud and abrasive enough to startle guests, and then continuing to do so (I'm assuming to encourage people to get out) is sort of the nail in the coffin. I don't know if the employees need to be paid more, are overworked and need more breaks, or if they're instructed to give off the vibe of "I really would like to be anywhere but here"--either way, it's not for me. Decent amount of places to sit (before the employees decide to remove all the seating because they are ready to go), but the music is absurdly loud, so it's a bit hard to hear anything (including your drink being called--and they couldn't care less if you heard them or not). Drinks were fine, though certainly not worth the price, which I suppose has become the norm for coffee shops like this anyway. Nothing to write home about.

First time trying Groundwork Coffee, and I'm a fan! Just stopped by for a quick, midday drink to cool off: I opted for the Beehive matcha latte, which was delicious! Not too thick, not too watery, and the matcha worked harmoniously with the honey flavor. Honestly, I would come back just for that drink; it certainly hit the spot on a hot summer's day!

At least they were generous with the arugula because there's about 1/10 of an avocado scraped on this avo toast.

I'm glad we ordered a coffee (we almost didn't) because it ended up being the only good part of our meal. We got the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was good. The breakfast sandwich was very skimpy. The amount of kale they put on it was funny. And it wasn't worth $9. The avocado toast was even worse omg. Never in my life have I seen less avocado on an avocado toast. You can tell they had trouble scraping on a thin enough layer to even make it green. Pretty pissed. I don't remember the price but I can tell you it's not worth it. The egg was raw and over cooked at the same time idk.

Okey dokey- i got the vegan breakfast burrito (delivery) this morning and I thought it was very good! It was large and tasty. Here's why I'm giving three stars- There was a receipt on the bag from the restaurant and the prices are much higher on DoorDash (and Uber Eats!) than they are in the store. No, I'm not talking about the already crazy fees these delivery apps charge... I'm talking about the actual price of the items. How greedy can you be!? The burrito was FOUR DOLLARS MORE - once again remember I'm not even talking about any fees- and the TEENY thing of hot sauce was a dollar and thirty cents.... Also, the hot sauce is not hot at all. I was in the mood for hot sauce and never even opened the additional one I got. I'm going to have to keep an eye on these restaurants bc I know some others do the same thing. I am not the kind of person to nitpick prices and talk about how unbelievably expensive things are (even tho they are pretty out of control) but when you have a price difference at all, especially such a vast one, to me that seems deceitful and genuinely just greedy and disgusting. I understand this economy is crazy and business owners have costs of course... but hello- u need customers don't u? Sad to say I don't think I'll order again.

Pumpkin cold brew latte: 2 stars. Good pumpkin flavor, but too much milk for my taste

I took my dog for a walk in the Larchmont area and happened to walk by this Groundwork Coffee shop. I'm a cold brew black, no sugar kind of coffee drinker. I was somehow talked into trying the pumpkin cold brew coffee. Pumpkin Cold Brew Coffee: 2 stars. I did not finish the drink. The pumpkin flavor of the cold brew itself was quite good, but that's the only good thing I can say about this drink. I am not a big latte drinker, however I know how to make a latte. I think the pumpkin cold brew had way too much milk as my coffee was very pale in color. I'm not sure why most places in the United States like to add extra milk in their coffee beverages. I'm glad I tried this beverage as it serves as a reminder for me to stick to what I know and love. Ham and Cheese Croissant: 4 stars Good Croissant. It would be better if this was served warm, and if they used a separate tong to scoop up the savory pastries and the sweet pastries. My ham and cheese croissant had a bit of sugar on the bottom of it.

I like this place because it opens early and there's free morning parking. I've been here twice and both times I've seen Tig Notaro. Just a cool tidbit. I'm assuming she's a regular. Anyways, I've cut out coffee so first time I went, I had the chai. It is really spicy... so much so that I would not get it again. But if you like spicy chai, I would recommend. Second time my sister and I got the granola it's yogurt and breakfast burrito. Burrito was good. It was packed with potatoes, eggs, avocado, veggies. Pretty big size. The granola and yogurt was not worth the $8. I make a better parfait. The drinks and food are decent, not amazing. But I like coming here in the early morning to chill out or get some work done. read more

First time at a Groundwork's Coffee shop and wasn't disappointed. I got a vanilla latte with 1/2 the syrup and it was great. Very smooth and the right amount of vanilla. Highly recommend stopping by for a great cup of coffee. read more

Staff is extremely rude and unfriendly. I hate coming here because it's not a great way to wake up in the morning. There are many coffee shops in la that would be honored to have your business. I would go elsewhere And personally I would fire the rude girls that work there and replace them with polite staff. ASAP!!! read more

Freakin bomb dot com! First off, the cafe has good seats/ample seating inside and out. I love sitting outside and people watching. I love my latte here with a bit of vanilla. It is expensive at $6 but totally tasty. I like the service and the woody interior of the place. Support independent coffee shops when possible! read more

So I finally went back to Groundwork and tried the nitro again. Without ice, it was great! The baristas asked me if I wanted ice, so that is good. With that said, I will always ask for no ice at any coffee shop going forward. Aside from the drink, there are a ton of seats that can be used for a study/work session. Various food options are available if you need to camp out for an extended period. read more

Terrible costumer service. It's great that everyone is still in high school and/or wearing diapers, but the service here is not good. You guys have no respect for your guests, and make it very clear you don't want to be working here. Get employed somewhere else if you're going to continue to treat people the way you have since the BEGINNING of covid. Unfortunate because the coffee is good, but I'd rather be accepting it from a robot at this point. No connection whatsoever with these "baristas." read more

Awesome vibes! This is a super cute spot. Street parking is easy to find during the week and costs $2.00 for 2 hours. Camped out here to get some office work done and tried a small iced dirty chai. Probably not the best place to take a call (learned the hard way) as the music is pretty loud, but lots of fun people watching and the coffee is delicious. read more

F&@king LAME! SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN I went in with a flyer that offered a free drink for this new location. I order 2 drinks, and was totally cool paying for the one of them. Everything was cool up until right now, as I stared looking at my recent transactions, I see that despite making it seem like I'm only getting charged for 1 drink, she charged me for both. And I went there 2 days ago yet they only now processed my transaction? And I left a tip! It damn sure isn't the money but on gp, shady af. Maybe there's an explanation as to why I was overcharged 2 days after, when while I was there I thought I was paying a different price. Then 2 days later y'all wanna charge me more, behind my back. Lame lame lame. Update: It's been about a week since I emailed you back and still no reply. Seems like you just want to look good for yelp but that you truly don't care. Torn on this place. People rave about it so I've checked it out a few times & haven't really been impressed. The employees range from super nice & energetic to aloof & inattentive. The prices are high. Like over $5 for a small iced latte. I wouldn't mind if it was really good but it just wasn't. Like one of my least favorites. The space is pretty & always really clean but with so many other places, especially in ktown, with even better ambiance & drinks that are much better & also cheaper, I can't justify another visit unless I'm desperate & in the area. I've heard their food is good, but I don't know if I'll try it. Will definitely update if I do though! Do wanna note that the employees that are nice, they really are very very nice. So kind & sweet! That's really rare these days! So bonus points for that! read more

Very good quality of coffee. Their drinks are delicious and they also sell coffee beans/grounds to enjoy at home. With capacity restrictions and limited space, they do take a bit longer than usual, but it's certainly worth the wait. Overall, the staff is typically friendly and the drinks are consistent. I would definitely recommend. read more

Friendly staff but their milk steaming game needs improvement. I ordered a breve latte and they handed me an all foam cup, when asked to be remade they were very kind about it but still the quality of the milk wasn't were it should be and unfortunately my craving wasn't satisfied. Came here on New Year's day and got their Vietnamese coffee. It's delicious, smooth and very strong. Just what I needed to start of a great year! The vibe is great and relaxed and the customer service is wonderful. PROS: good selection of coffee, sweet atmosphere, helpful service, varied menu, good for studying or hanging out and clean bathroom CONS: sometimes it's too crowded, pricing for food is a bit high but the quality is good, parking is limited to street/metered parking read more

Meh! The sizes are baby sizes (*think baby happy meal cups from the 90's). It's not worth the $7 for such a SMALL cup and SUBPAR customer service. Every time I go I think they're selective on who they're nice to. You know that fake hipster personality that conveniently comes out. Anyway, I think Blue Bottle Coffee is worth the price, better quality, and much nicer staff. Go there instead! :) read more

This is my favorite coffee shop. WAY better coffee than Starbucks. My usual order is a regular latte, although occasionally I try something new and I am Never disappointed. Staff here has always been friendly as well. This location does have food, although I pretty much just come for the coffee. There is a nice area in front (where parking used to be) with chairs to sit and enjoy your beverage. Parking can be difficult if you come during peak Larchmont Village hours. read more

After much consideration, I've determined that Groundwork has the best coffee in the Greater Larchmont area. Not only does the coffee taste consistently great, it's also organic. Also, the staff is really friendly. Several of the baristas know my name and remember my usual order. read more

Had the Americano. Coffee was good. Space was decent, however gets fairly loud when it's a full house. Nice decor and seating/dining was laid out well. Friendly staff. Would come back to try food when kitchen is fully open. read more

The baristas and the coffee here is great... although disclaimer if you are ordering food... it's nothing like any of the other groundwork's... I can't count the amount of times I've ordered breakfast here with my girlfriend and gotten raw and cold potatoes.. cold eggs... and extremely small portion sizes. I live near the Venice location and the food is always fresh and hot and a regular serving size. This kitchen actually tastes like the food has been sitting out for a few days and then warmed with a cigarette lighter. I've tried it many times for higher hopes but haven't gotten anything different. Won't order food here again. Coffee is good though! And friendly front of house staff read more

I've been looking for the perfect chai masala latte for the last five years, since finding two top-quality lattes in Princeton, NJ and Syracuse, NY. I believe that the perfect chai masala latte should be not-too sweet, but should leave my mouth on fire from the masala. Groundwork Coffee comes pretty close: 8 / 10 in my scoring. I'll be back for another on the next visit to the city of my birth. read more

There's plenty of seating around the cafe but not lots of options for bigger groups. Service is always amazing and they are typically pretty fast with orders. Coffee never tastes burnt or rushed which is definitely a plus. Things to Note: * Parking is hit or miss because sometimes the lot is open to all and other times they all spots reserved for valet.

Even though it was a Thursday, almost all the tables were taken so I went to the outside tables for a little bit. Someone ended up leaving and I snagged their table. One thing to note is that the parking lot outside does say 2 HR visitor parking.

However, they have a good system and even with the lines I got my drink within 5 mins. Shocking as i've seen this taken 10 mins + at other places. I was pleasantly surprised by the space as it had a good amount of seating and while the outdoor space next door isn't officially theirs, people seem to use it as well so it opens up the space. I got their strawberry match since it is the season and it did not disappoint. The strawberry jam was tasty and not too sweet. Also got the double matcha to wake me up even more and I enjoyed it. I did see a lot of others getting their jasmine matcha so I will need to get that next time!

My sister has been a bunch of times before and really wanted me to try their cream top but I don't drink coffee and they apparently stopped allowing modifications to their drinks so you can no longer add the cream top to the matcha latte. She got the cream top coffee and I got the matcha latte so I could sip the top of hers and drink mine and it was honestly so so good. I have no idea how they make their cream top but it's unlike any other I've tried. The matcha itself was also very smooth and great quality. Both drinks came out to just $13.50 total, which is amazing. Would come again!

I prefer slightly larger spaces and flexibility to chill or work. Drink- only commenting on the Vienna latte and ube buttercream latte. Overall, the impression is that their default leans more towards milky and sweeter flavor profiles. These drinks were very milk forward and on the much sweeter end than we expected (and we got half sweet for both). Had to go back home and add double shots to both drinks to offset it. If you're looking for more coffee forward drinks, you'll have to ask to adjust it. But personally couldn't taste the coffee beans. For reference: my preferred coffee in Ktown are Alchemist and stagger coffee

Anywhere from 30-50 minutes is pretty normal, and if you show up later in the day, there's a good chance they'll already be sold out some of the items. I got there before they opened at 8 a.m., and the line was already around the corner. LA people are professional line waiters lol. The one upside is that it's far enough east that you don't get the full 405 west crowd bcz its "too east 405" to show up... so there's that. ;))) A couple of downsides: there's no indoor seating, and the inside has a pretty strong greasy kitchen smell. Don't be surprised if your clothes smell like the restaurant after you leave. Even with all that, this is still an easy 5-star spot for me. Great food, excellent matcha, and a pistachio toast I'll happily wait in line again with the LA unemployed crowd that stresses out that they can't make it to their pilates class bcz of the long line... :))

I had such a memorable experience at Groundwork in Larchmont, and it was thanks to two amazing baristas, Kimberly and Yessenia. From the moment my husband, daughter, and I walked in, they made us feel so welcomed. Their personalities are warm, fun, and genuine--they took the time to explain the baked goods and drinks, which made me feel both cared for and excited to try something new. The space itself is beautiful--rustic, clean, and open--making it such a comfortable spot to relax with family. The pastries were next-level--buttery, fresh, and high quality. I even saved some croissants with filling inside for my mom and sibling, and they couldn't stop raving about them. The strawberry matcha was a standout, made with obvious care and quality ingredients. What really struck me, though, was how these ladies turned my day around. I walked in having a tough morning, but left smiling and lighthearted. Thank you, Yessenia and Kimberly, for making this more than just a coffee stop--you made it an experience. Crappy attitude and bitter service! Not knowing much about the coffee here, I inquired to the staff behind the counter as to if the coffee was organic and GMO free. The label on their bags are not clearly marked. I got a yes they are organic. And so I had to ask again since they didn't answer my question. With a snarky attitude one kid said, organic basically means GMO free. Sorry kid you're wrong, do your research, know your product and while you're at it, get an attitude adjustment. I have zero desire to go back here! read more

I had a great experience working from this cafe. I decided to try their beehive matcha latte, which was a pleasant surprise. The cafe had convenient outlets along the wall, making it convenient for me and other fellow remote workers. It was a productive and enjoyable atmosphere. read more

I think this coffee is some of the worst in town. It's bitter and tastes like poison. I don't know if it's the beans, machines or baristas but it doesn't taste like coffee. Rather like cough medicine. Really expensive and really awful. Go to Peet's read more
