I got my sourdough fix here! I stumbled upon this place by searching up bakeries in Long Beach. I got their sourdough bread (masa madre) and you can tell it was made with love and care. Their walnut cookies are absolutely delicious (so much so that I had to go back in and buy a package of 5). The place is very welcoming and the atmosphere is great. Definitely coming back.
Always a pleasure to come to Gusto in Long Beach, even when traffic along 710 is a frown-commute. Best about this return was to try their dark chili sauce on a slice of sourdough --- so so good! Had both sweet and savory options with a mocha. Service has been consistently friendly and helpful, and the interior like the exterior is accommodating to both a large or small party.
10/10. My wife was talking this place up and I was already coming into breakfast with high expectations and they were exceeded. Very small and quaint shop with a very friendly staff. We went early to make sure they weren't sold out of anything we wanted. We got a good variety and ended up eating the entire box outside before leaving. Top pics would be Doña, Nixtamal Queen, Alfajor de Neuz, and the Brie and Ham Sandwich. My wife got the matcha which was fantastic and I got the Atole latte which was perfectly creamy and not overly sweet. We even got some the morning we left town to make sure we had some to eat back home. Can't wait to be back
An Old record player plays Mack the Knife near the counter. And endless line seemingly remains outside. The small shop and its two or three tables offer a few places to cave into the cravings. Okay, enough is enough, who am I kidding..let me just cut to the chase. The BOLILLO! Just order it okay? You will thank me later. There is spicy Jalapeno bread and there is this, which is Sourdough, Jalapeno and salt done in the perfect combination. Your taste buds will thank you but there is no need to thank me (after all, I didn't create it). Most of the items on the menu I can't pronounce but you can't really go wrong with any of them. When its your turn its your turn and any of the associates will patiently walk you through the menu and point out their favorites and ingrediants in each if you want The coffee and Matcha are on point here too, with some creative recipes. The Horchata Matcha is one. This is a popular one. Come early for best selection!
Now that I have been back here three times I am so excited to leave a review. My favorite things are the bollio and concha. The way their bread is so soft drives me crazy. I have never had a bollio or concha as soft and supple as they can make it. This place has inspired me to learn how to make a sourdough starter from how good it is. The only downsides: a long line to get in at times, street parking can get tricky based on the time of day, a little pricey. Each bread is about $4 or more but it's worth the price if you can afford it. None of these make me feel like it's less of a five star place. The place is really small. You probably will never be able to eat inside but tbh this place is perfect as a Togo option as well. I have also tried an entire sourdough loaf from them and it was so good and keeps soft if you store it in an airtight place. Don't get it though if you don't eat bread every day cuz it can be a lot in quantity. My advice. Come in and try the chocolate concha and whatever drink you want. My favorite thing to do with my parter is to come here get a box of six and then grab a Tierra Mia, the perfect combo. Cant wait to see this place open more locations
Continuing my chocolate chip cookie quest, I stopped by Gusto Bread--a charming little panadería that keeps things simple and does them well. Great baked goods, solid coffee, and an easygoing neighborhood vibe. I tried their SPEIT cookie (still no clue what it stands for, but I'm not losing sleep over it). It's a salted chocolate chip cookie with crispy edges and a soft center, plus a slightly grainy sugar texture that adds a nice little crunch. Sweet, salty, and balanced--just a really well-executed cookie. Score: 8.5/10 The bakery itself is small but inviting. A couple of chairs out front for a quick patio sit, plus some indoor seating. Perfect for a relaxed coffee + pastry stop. Bottom line for me: A strong entry on the cookie quest. If you're in Long Beach and want a bakery with personality (and a cookie worth the calories), Gusto Bread delivers.
We were doing a bread crawl. The first choice was this place. My friends arrived early. Since there was already a line, they helped me order. I asked for the nixtamal queen and a horchata matcha. My friends got a good amount of breads. I was able to try some of it as well. The nixtamal queen was pretty much a Kouign amann. I like Kouign amann, but I didn't like this one at all. I didn't have much to say until my friends told me that this bakery was a finalist for the James Beard awards. I was in shock because the bread I got was so dry and dense. I took a few bites and my mouth got tired lol I was not the only one in the group who had the issue. It was also overly sweet. I tried the other breads that my friends got. It was not fluffy or anything. Not much flavor as well. So I was pretty much in shock. I dunno if the quality went down because they had to mass produce...while there, I noticed there was always a line. So they were nonstop busy. The matcha horchata was not bad. It could be better. Matcha flavor was lacking and horchata didn't hit the spot. Glad it wasn't so sweet. I prob will return to try the breads again. Hopefully, I can up the stars.
When I walked up, the line of folks waiting outside were the greatest predictor of what I'd find when I got in the door. No kidding, I immediately realized that this bakeshop is fantastic! Fortunately, I made my order on line prior to arriving and my goodies were ready. The aroma inside is mouthwatering. The friendly ambiance beckons customers to enter, order a drink and a pastry and relax. The organic bread selection was right up my alley. Everything looked absolutely. amazing! Folks working behind the counter were super friendly. I ordered a hueso quebrado ( just love the description) a seeded loaf, field loaf, 1 chocolate concha, a concha de cacao and a couple of whole grain spelt cookies. Bakery is located in a neighborhood with limited parking out front and lots of parking within walking distance. Sure hope to be back soon, as everything was delicious.
I had been to Gusto years ago, and it seems like in that time they have undergone some beautification and expansion. Kudos to them on the growth! The place is very aesthetically pleasing. About four tables inside and the rest of the seating is outdoors. They have a variety of fresh baked breads and handcrafted drinks. They also have some other trinkets for sale as well. The staff are friendly. Four stars because special offerings run out fast and parking isn't great (street only so first come, first serve). I had to circle around for a while to find something and was almost tempted to just ditch this visit to be honest. I ended up finding parking 3 blocks away.
I had been wanting to visit this bakery for such a long time! Finally made it, and very much looking forward to going back. I went on a weekday morning, and luckily found street parking right across the street. There was a short line outside, but the wait wasn't too long. Everything was absolutely delicious! I tried the following: - Jamon Roll - Super flavorful savory roll. Flaky pastry filled with French ham, hatch-chile cheese and our pina mustard and topped with poppy seeds. - Spelt Cookie - Golden crispy and chewy whole grain cookie with Ecuadorian dark chocolate wafers and sprinkled with flake salt. - California Loaf - Our most popular loaf! Thick crust and soft open crumb with a balanced flavor that pairs with a wide variety of foods. Absolutely loved this! Also, as I was waiting in line inside the shop, there was a basket of "Day Old" breads at a discounted price. So I grabbed the California Loaf. It turned out to be very fresh and quality was great. So I'd definitely do this again. Service was efficient and very friendly. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and there are tables outdoor, right in front of the bakery. Highly recommended! Looking forward to going back and trying some of their other baked goods and get another loaf of their amazing bread.
This bakery is special. Very, very special. The way this place incorporates the corn...it's like...once you have a treat here, you can't have the treat any other way. Take the kouign amann pastry, so flaky, so moist, and then you're hit with a blast of corn flavor. The alfajor cookies OMGGGGG. Again, textbook baking but with addition of corn! You need to try one of everything, seriously. Including the items in the refrigerated section. And don't forget to check out the items for sale all around the store! The employees are always chill, considering people tend to have questions or are unsure what to choose. We sat at one of the several shaded tables they have outside. The vibe is easy, like "getaway to another country where every day isn't a mad hustle" easy. I warn you though, especially those who don't live nearby, it's hard to eat these treats elsewhere once you get them here. Then you'll be all sad when you don't come back to LB for a while.
I have heard nothing but RAVE REVIEWS about GB, I had to get me some. The line at 8:30 on a Saturday morning was not bad. Service was terrific except the lady forgot my Nixtamal Queen pastry. I called and talked to Patty. She instantly refunded MY dough and was a pleasure to work with. I bought an assortment of goodies to take home. The bolillo's with go just fine with the Caldo de Res I'm making for dinner. The store is comfortable, has little tables to sit and enjoy a delicious pastry n coffee. The bathroom is Very nice, clean, smells good, cute. 10-12-25 NOTE: I warmed up the mushroom tart. I shrooms and am not very picky. This tart was not good at all. I'm sorry, it needed salt, IMO & had a weird taste. My husband tried it and couldn't even eat 1 bite.
I will say that all of their awards for their pastries are absolutely deserved. I got the Molé Mushroom Empanada and the Ham & Cheese Croissant. Molé Mushroom Empanada - The pastry was flaky, and the mushroom molé was sooo flavorful and tender. It was a little sweet and very savory, slightly spicy, and the mushrooms were very tender. Ham & Cheese Croissant - I loved the poppy seeds on top of this croissant. It's the perfect addition to the flaky, cheesy, buttery pastry. Stellar! The line here is often very long, even on what would be considered off hours, but it is definitely worth it. Parking is not as bad as it seems, with lots of free parking in nearby neighborhoods. read more

Enjoyed this place more than I thought. The foods, breads, coffee are excellent and costs less than I thought. The service is wonderful and with caring. The place smells delish upon walking in and well displaced of the foods and everything else. There are seatings inside, outside and street patio. Just a cozy and relaxing place for me with great foods and drinks. read more
Iced Dulce de Leche Latte w/ oat milk: good but not great. California Loaf: what a happy loaf!!! It's so cute, smells phenomenal, like I want to bottle this scent and wear it... bread smells sooooo good!!! And it was so YUM!!!! Also, I love they have an option to buy it already sliced! Concha de Cacao: glad I tried it, but wouldn't order again. Pastelito de Guava: ok Mushroom Mole Empanada: eh Service: exceptional. When I ordered the mushroom mole empanada, the person who was helping me made sure I didn't have any nut allergies, which I thought was really thoughtful. She also asked if it was ok that the caramel had dairy in it, since I was subbing for oat milk. Parking: was easy to find but I can see it being difficult especially at high peak hours. read more
Favorite item was the Spelt Cookie. I loved that it was a large cookie with dark chocolate chunks and an amazing texture. Probably one of the best cookies I've ever had, if not the best. Choco Pan and and Jamon Roll were good. They are similarly shaped and made with yummy fillings, but I wish they were generously filled. They're like 75% bread and 25% of their respective filling. Concha de Cacao was decent. The chocolate topping was delicately sweet and subtly flavored, and the bread itself was like a light and airy sourdough, which sounds interesting for a concha, but it works. Surprisingly, the alfajores were just ok. I was really looking forward to trying them but was disappointed at how crumbly and flavorless these were. Maybe they didn't hold up well in the warmer weather? They got very messy and broke apart easily, which made them difficult to eat with your hands. The Dona was a dense, almond-forward pastry with a slight fruity flavor from the jam. This would definitely go well with a tea. Although it was decent pastry, I wouldn't get it again, especially at nearly $10 a piece. Mushroom Mole Empanada had a savory-sweet filling enveloped in a soft, flaky, buttery triangle. Mushrooms were nicely cooked and didn't make the pastry soggy, but I don't think I'll get this one again, either. I tried a bite of a friend's Nixtamal Queen and Pastelito de Guava, and both were tasty. I'd likely get these for myself next time. Service is always great - they're so chill and helpful, just as sweet as the baked goods right behind them. The line to the bakery is usually long, and they tend to run out of stuff, so be prepared to come early. They have limited indoor and outdoor seating. It gets quite busy, so the area can feel cramped, but it comes and goes. Street parking is available nearby. read more
GUSTO BREAD! Sourdough baked goods that are definitely worth! Went here during my visit to Long Beach and genuinely enjoyed every item we purchased. The sourdough bread was soft, crunchy, and overall a delight. The concha was very interesting in flavor as it is different than other traditional conchas but I'd recommend. Service was fast and they have a system to get everyone in and out as efficiently as possible. We tried some lattes as well and they were delicious. I'd recommend the atole latte. Some seating indoors but not too much, I'd recommend walking around since there's so many amazing shops in the area. Overall rating: 9.5/10 read more

I have heard so many good things about this bakery I finally went down to check it out for myself. It was a little overwhelming so many choices but I got the chorizo bread. As soon as I bit into it I was like ok. I get it. After I heard the chef that made the recipes is like a Michelin star chef? Wow, that's a big deal. I'm going to try the concha's everyone's talking about next time I go back. read more

Nestled in Retro Row, this artisanal bakery crafts incredible sourdough and cultured breads that live up to the hype. Upon arrival, there was a line outside due to the fact that they only allow up to two ordering guests inside. They have indoor seating as well as outdoor seating to enjoy the sun. What we ordered: CALIFORNIA LOAF (Thick crust and soft open crumb with a balanced flavor) - This sourdough loaf was FANTASTIC. It was so SOFT and MOIST inside and tasted great plain. Once home, we paired it with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which elevated the experience even further. CAFE DE OLLA - This traditional Mexican coffee, brewed with cinnamon and raw sugar, had a warm, comforting flavor. While enjoyable, I found it best suited as a complement to a pastry or some carbs, rather than something I'd order on its own. read more

I ordered a latte and I'm not sure which beans they're using for their espresso, but it was absolutely out of this world. Service is always friendly and you feel like you're at home and everything is absolutely amazing including pastries, bread and gifts. read more

Amazing sourdough! Great pastries. The kouign-amann was delicious and made with masa. Highly recommend giving this a try. Not too sweet. The almond pastry I believe called doña was quite yummy as well but is rather $$ however keep in mind this is a larger pastry that honestly can feed 2. Tried 2 different loaves of their sourdough and they both were fantastic. Since they have their amazing bread would be great if they offered a menu of avocado toast, butter & jam, and maybe smoked salmon and cream cheese toast, things like that. Great little spot will definitely be back to give other items a try. read more
Talk about great quality ingredients. Gusto Bread is a 2023 James Beard nominee as an Outstanding Bakery. This bake shop uses wild fermented sourdough culture for their breads. They also use in house made fresh corn masa. Aside from their artisanal breads, the pastries made here are very good. Quality ingredients make all the difference. Their conchas are made with sourdough and fluffy inside with that nice sugary crust. The nixtamal queen is their take on kouign amann but with a mix of sourdough bread and corn masa. I liked this pastry a lot. Very unique texture. Remind me of a sweet corn tamale. Gusto also roast their own coffee beans under the Cafe Cuate brand. When I'm in LBC, I make it a point to grab a bag of coffee beans. Single origin coffee beans sourced straight from the farm with specific flavor notes are big difference than your everyday Starbucks drips. Great to see this bake shop grow as they've doubled in size and remodeled not too long ago. Worth a visit if you're in LBC. This bake shop is located in quite a dense neighborhood but I usually find parking within a block or two or three or four. Lol. read more

Where do I start ! I was invited by a dear friend Karen H. and what a treat !! We were first in line at 8am and the line was growing . The bread, pastry's and code de olla was amazing . We got the cinnamon concha, so soft n delicious . I was impressed! After hanging out in the front outside patio area, 2 hrs had passed and it was time to head out, the lines kept moving, but stayed busy. Guest new to the bakery had commented about how good they heard it was and I engaged and agreed ! I couldn't leave without buying some for home. I heard they use Ecuadorian chocolate to make there spelt chocolate chip sea salt cookies . I took home : fresh sesame flat bread , 2 spelt chocolate chip cookies , 2 cinnamon conchas , 2 guava pasties and camote buns. I was in HAPPY LAND. ALL these baked goods were beyond amazing . This a bilingual review: Spanish---------- Oh con mucho gusto voy a darles 5 estrellas por todo el amor que ustedes dan a estos panecitos. Esta panaderia no solamente mantiene las raices de mexico, pero tambien lo hacen con masa madre, leche organica, y con los mejores ingredientes. Mi favorita es la concha que, mira ya se que $4+ es un poco caro, pero vale la pena. Esta muy rico y una vez me lleve 8. mi cartera esta llorando pero valio la pena. Toda mi famila estaba muy contenta. Tambien reccomendo estas galletas que se ven como nopales. Los hacen en diciembre. English------ Thats as far as I can go in Spanish. I'm sorry. But this is what I reccomend: - Doña - double concha yet teminds me of a croissant with the jelly filling and almond bits in there. It was almost $10 but it was worth it. I want another one. - Pumpkin Empanada - made with brown sugar (in spanish its called piloncillo (pee-lon-see-yo)), organic pumpkin) and correct me if I am wrong, but I caught a bit of cinammon. It was flaky, very delicious and I regret not buying 12 because this was a hit at thanksgiving dinner. They recently expanded the restaurant to now include a coffee bar. The best part is that they use my favorite brand clover organic milk in their lattes. I got to try the atole latte and it had the exact taste of atole. My only quip is that I was expecting more of a grainy texture (like champurrado). But it was still very delicious. The atmosphere reminded me of a panaderia but centered around community. The regulars were greeting the owners and chatting like old friends. The cashier I had was very kind, and my mom and I felt at home here We already know we're getting more bread here, con mucho gusto. read more
Located on 4th street in Long Beach, Gusto received some major national acclaim when it was a James Beard award finalist as an "outstanding bakery". This was a first for a Long Beach restaurant/business - it's a big deal. We've been here a few times for breads, baked goods, and coffee. My wife likes to come here when she craves lattes with assertive spice. For my current visit, I had their cornbread, which I paired with some soup at home and it was great. I had their california sourdough loaf and I was able to make some amazing sandwiches with it. We also really enjoyed their hand pie, which had generous amounts of fruit. Their walnut-based alfajores had rich dulce de leche and a nice crumble texture as you bite into it. Their breads and pastries are expertly done. Everything is good - but they'll add in their own unique touches by using South American chocolate, jams, nuts, or masas. You get the familiar taste that you crave and then, from the unique regional ingredients, you'll get an extra something on top of that. Their clever use of these ingredients is one factor that brings them national acclaim. This said, I have to say that if you have a nut allergy, then you should be careful. I think several of their cookies, empanadas, and breads integrate nuts into them. I posted the menu and they clearly designate these items. I'm appreciative of this transparency as I strategically disregarded the warning, got some mild symptoms, and learned from it. 100% my fault, but I'm just honestly saying to not do what I did. (This is relatively new to me). This is definitely a special bakery and they have some really unique things to offer. Their mole empanada, chori bun, and nixtamal queen (their version of kouign amann) are all interesting and you should see what they do to put their unique stamp on pastry. read more
Read about Gusto from the NYTimes article, and it did not disappoint. Small line with about a 5 to 10 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered the oyster mushroom molé empanada hot & flaky from the oven, the twice baked $9 sweet Orange filled Doña dessert bun, and a savory cheese bun. Everything from the store environment, presentation, to quality of goods was thoughtfully designed and executed. I will be back to try some of the delicious looking lattes. One word: wow. The pastelito de guayaba is single handedly the very best breakfast pastry I've ever had. I used to live in South America and had a guayaba tree and my favorite family breakfast was always pan with dulce de guayaba. This pastelito immediately took me back to those breakfasts in South America. The guava is perfect, the chunks of the fruit added great texture. The cheese was perfect to pair with the guava for the filling. And the crust/pastry part... oh my word.... Ridiculously flaky, out of this word delicious. It's like if a hand pie met a croissant. It's truly the best pastry I've ever had. 10/10 The Nixtamal Queen was also absolutely delicious. It's got a great chew, excellent mouth feel. There is a reason it is so popular. It is very unique, but so comforting. 8.5/10 The salted tamarind agua fresca was really good. Everything you would want from a tamarind agua fresca. 8/10 I came at noon on a Wednesday and there was a small line, just 4 parties ahead of me, but the line went very quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. And everyone was so nice! I highly recommend trying this bakery. There is a reason why they were a finalist for the James Beard Award for best CA bakery last year. And they're semi-finalists right now for the same James Beard award for this year. Fingers crossed they win it this year, they definitely deserve it!!! read more
I was recommended this place by my friend and ultimately was very excited to try it. I do live quite along ways. It is only street parking so keep that in mind. Overall love the atmosphere and the workers were so nice l! Theres alot of products from other latino owned businesses inside. The bread itself was really really good and the coffee too! Coffee was perfectly sweetened. The bread is pricy like $7-$8 per piece but very much worth it. I think this is a good place to have in the latino community. I love how theyre so vocal about issues which I appreciate. read more

I always pass by fourth Street and see this local gem constantly busy. Today I had my mom go over and get a loaf of some delicious sourdough bread. I carefully watch what I eat, and as they provide a quality of bread, which is fermented sourdough making it makes it easier to digest. Anyways, I had a slice with my breakfast and every bite was soft and the perfect balance of that sour taste not overpowering. However, as I am limiting my calories I would've liked for it to be thinly slice so when I come back, I will definitely ask if this can be done. I also tried the coffee with a little bit strong for my preference, but quality was great as well. read more
Finally got a chance to check out Gusto today. Not surprisingly there was a line when I arrived about 11am but the 8 or 9 folks ahead of me were gone quickly. Seems that many folks order a few breads or pastries and a cup of coffee or two and tarry home. It's definitely a great neighborhood gig. I only had room for one loaf of bread in my backpack, so I chose the Dorado Loaf. I was told it was not the most 'sour doughy' as that would be the Field Loaf, but it was so pretty that I couldn't pass it up. Well, I had some for lunch and it was chewy and delicious as a loaf of bread should be. A bit of a nutty flavor. The crust was wonderful too. I'll try the Field Loaf next time! read more
The New York Times ranked Gusto Bread as one of the best bakeries in the US. After my visit, I can see why. While there are other bakeries that focus on naturally-leavened sourdough, Gusto goes above and beyond the typical sourdough loaf (which they do have - the California loaf $10, which is their most popular). They use sourdough in their Concha de Cacao ($). I don't normally like conchas because I find them dry but this one converted me. Even more unusual is their Nixtamal Queen ($7.50), their version of a kouign-amann, with a sourdough and corn masa dough. Wow. Loved that they even elevated their chocolate chip cookie ($4) by using spelt flour, giving it a whole new flavor dimension, and dark Ecuadorian chocolate. Their pastries are not too sweet either. Service was very warm and welcoming. The man helping me took so much care into wrapping each pastry and arranging it in the bag so they would not get damaged. I am torn between wishing I lived closer and being relieved that I don't because I'd be carb loading to my heart's content. Yes, you will probably find a line but it moves fast because they only let a couple of people in at a time. Sure items may sell out, but if you keep an open mind, you'll find something delicious for sure. read more

Always a line, but moves pretty fast. Although they don't toast the bread for you, they are freshly made every morning. Great filling for a savory option, but not as flaky. Seating by the street was very fun. read more
A new Long Beach gem. I love Long Beach! Specifically the 4th Street Corridor part of Long Beach. Whether it's cute little cafes, leftist bookstores, or artisanal bakeries like Gusto Bread, the 4th Street side of Long Beach reminds me of Old School San Francisco before the tech bros took over: all of the quirkiness and charm, none of the smugness and late stage capitalism douchebaggery. I first heard of Gusto Bread when I saw that it was nominated for a James Beard finalist for Outstanding Bakery. A new school panadería with reasonable prices, what's not to love? Similar to Porto's, which is known of its fairly priced baked goods, the affordable nature of many of Gusto's options compels me to spend at least $50-60 each time I'm here. I've had over half the menu at this point and the standouts to me for pastries are the Doña ($9.50), the Spelt Cookie ($4), the Mole Empanada ($5), the Buttermilk Biscuit ($3.75), and of course, the Nixtamal Queen ($7.50). As you can imagine with a James Beard finalist, everything is going to be at least above average quality and that is certainly true with Gusto Bread. Besides, the standards (don't sleep on their quickbread Buttermilk Biscuit), I'll highlight a few things that don't appear at every bakery... The Doña is like concha meets an almond roll, balancing airiness with the rich nuttiness of almond cream and toasted almond slivers. The Mole Empanada is a savory mole negro mushroom-filled flaky turnover. The standout of standouts, to me was the Nixtamal Queen: a semi-dense sticky bun, whose not quick dinner roll, not quite cornbread consistency really encapsulates the magical cultural blending you experience overall at this new Long Beach institution. No new school bakery is complete with some buzzy coffee drinks and the ones to get here are the Horchata Cold Brew ($6.50) or the Atole Latte ($7.25), both as flavorful as you'd think but not as sickeningly sweet as you'd find at most places. Finish out your order with a whole or pre-sliced California or Field loaf ($10/$10.50) and you'd be forgiven if you mistook your whereabouts for the Richmond District of San Francisco instead of 4th Street Long Beach... but trust me, I'd rather be in Long Beach over San Francisco ANY day and twice over on Sundays. SoCal runs the state, LB and LA over the Bay forever and God's people say AMEN! Parking is fairly easy to find on the street and into the neighborhood... just be prepared to wait in line if you want to get there early before they sell out of items. Keep an eye out for specialty items too, like grandma-style square pizza slices they do for special occasions like Father's Day et al. read more

Very cute coffee shop. I got a croissant and a cappuccino to try. The total was $10.50. The croissant is very good. 5/5 but it was pricey. Cappuccino was smooth and tasty. 5/5 but it was in a tiny cup and pricey. Overall the food was very good but pricey. If the price is not that high, I would come more often. They do offer outdoor and indoor seatings. We found parking right away on the street. read more
Decided to try this local coffee shop/bakery for a caffeine pick me up. It's a very cute cafe and also has alfresco seating. I would definitely come back just to get some work done and get a quick coffee. The staff is really nice and explained the flavors I was unfamiliar with when deciding what I wanted to order. I ordered the iced Dulce de leche latte with oatmilk. I felt like it was just average and honestly not worth the price. They only have oatmilk as an alternative option. In the future I might just opt to try a simple drip coffee or their cafe de olla. I also ordered the Queen pastry which was really good! Just don't know if it was worth $7. I now understand why there is usually a line of people, the bread did live up to the hype. Tried a roll with ham and cheese which was good ( I might heat it up slightly next time) Forgot to snap a pic of my drink before drinking it all lol. Tried the chocolate concha which from what I read is an only on the weekend thing which was also delicious. I'm really curious about the bread loaves and plan to try the sourdough sometime soon. Had to park like a block from the store since the parking is the only negative but walking a block wasn't the end of the world for such a tasty and impressive start to the day with these treats. I finally had a chance to make it out here after being bookmarked for so long! This place was busy on a Sunday, but nothing intolerable. I ordered a coffee and some pastries for the road, so I didn't have any of the items there. The spot is cute and lively. They built a really cute patio area making it dog friendly outside and have a few tables inside as well. Of the items I purchased, my favorite was the alfajores. Para el pan, no hay igual. The baked goods are truly unlike no other. Freshly baked every day and excellent quality ingredients you can truly taste. The hot xocolote is rich and dark, perfectly sweetened and consistent. A must try. My friend told me about this place since she bought a sourdough starter here so that's what brought me in. I loooved the pastries and coffee drinks they had on their menu. Definitely not anything you could get anywhere else!! The pastries that I tried were incredible and I got a loaf of their sourdough to take home and that was yummy too. Their coffee drinks were all unique and my hubby and I loved what we got. My active starter is still going strong! If you haven't been here I highly recommend. The line was a little long when I got there but it went by quick. The service was great, the drinks and food are unique and great quality. Will definitely be back! read more
