I was taken aback by the amount of restrictions on the order. I wanted beef gyro fries and they said they can only do lamb and chicken. I asked for a sandwich combo and they said no combo. So for a gyro, fries, and a drink we are looking at $17 or more per meal. This is a ridiculous price for mediocre food. Makes sense why they had no customers. Gyro hut is amazing, I always get the chicken over rice and gyro fries those are my go to here. I always get extra white sauce and hot sauce on my platter and you customize how much you want and choose toppings. This place is better then halal guys in my opinion, if I had to choose this place would be the best halal platter place in Houston for their consistency of delivering good flavors. What I received was a spicy, red chicken in a somewhat Indian curry sauce. When I went to speak to them they said the chicken is red and there was white sauce on it....If I wanted Indian food I know where to find it. No where, I checked before I left, on the menu did it state i was ordering a spicy, curry, chicken gyro in red sauce. Completely unacceptable. The fries were horrible frozen fries. They didn't resolve my issue and I'm dissatisfied as I didn't go out tonight for Indian cuisine. Also , when we ordered they kept asking if we wanted feta cheese on everything. This location is comparable to the downtown one, both are really good. Their portion sizes are huge, if you get a platter you can easily eat it two times if you have a smaller appetite. The chicken over rice isn't my favorite, but I do love their chicken shawarma. Their bread and sauces are also really fantastic! read more

(Male, gray beard, straight short black hair, and around late 40s) He kept accusing me of eating the food that I was trying to get a refund for because it wasn't what I ordered. He kept giving me attitude when I was trying to explain the situation in a calm manner, such as "you get what you ordered!", when I was trying to explain to him I was going to be returning the food. When I arrived he kept saying he wouldn't give me a refund for something that they messed up on, and finally he agreed to and during the whole process he kept saying unnecessary and rude comments. This place is a wonderful spot for gyros and bowls to chow down. I went after work one day and I ordered just fries and shared a gyro to try the lamb meat they serve here. And the taste of both the fries and the lamb was nothing less than extraordinary. The fries are crisp and soft at the same time I ordered them with the signature white sauce and hot sauce on the fries and it was epic. The gyros are awesome and the lamb meat was super tender and tasty it didn't taste too much like lamb it had an amazing taste. And on top of that their prices are very good and pretty cheap for how much it will fill you up.
