Great food great prices. I'm so confused on how they make such awesome food in a 2x2 sq foot hut.

My go to when I am craving a Gyro and some feta and olives. Great idea to have these kiosks in town. Wish there were more of them! The only downside is that they do not have Greek Fries--(With Oregano, feta and lemon)! That would rock!!!!! You guys should get a fryer. ;-) Just a suggestion..but it might not be possible in those little kiosks I suppose! read more

We grabbed this for dinner on a Sunday when I was a little under the weather to cook. My hubby got the Ultimate, the quality was good, and the size and price were decent. I ordered the deluxe in a combo, with olives added to the gyro. I got home and the "combo" consisted of only a gyro. Why did I pay more to receive a side, if it isn't going to be given to me? I had never had a gyro before Gyro Shack. (I know, crazy) I am so happy that my first one came from here. I am addicted to them. I go once a week. Made the mistake of going to Pita Pit and regretted it. This is my go to. Staff quick, courteous, and knowledgeable. The Deluxe (sub onions for olives) and the bacon avocado are my favorites. Update: Combo with hummus is great and there's now a perfect pita to hummus ratio. I recommend it! read more

Sadness. It might've been the tears I cried into my chicken gyro. I miss the old chicken gyro. I miss the old employees. Look, the food isn't so vastly changed that it doesn't taste like Gyro Shack. But it tastes like mass produced Gyro Shack, without the love and care that went into the food before new ownership. Food prices have also gone up, quality is about the same but there's definitely less meat in the gyros than there used to be. They're spending on things like packaging and branding and skimping on food, is the plan to franchise? Anyway, sadness. I really really really miss the old Gyro Shack. read more

I found this place by accident when I was out for a ride. I Yelped it and found the reviews were amazing and after getting my Gyro deluxe style I must say the reviews were spot on. I got a really fresh piece of pita bread with a very generous pile of gyro meat, tadzhiki sauce, tomatoes and onions. The thing that impressed me most was the simplicity of it all, drive up, order, pay and out in just a minute or two. Nothing fancy, but you have to love, fast, fresh, hot, tasty and inexpensive and the Gyro Shack does all that! read more

First off, the food was great - best Gyro in town. Staff, not so much. I came in with a $5 coupon I got in y email. Was asked for a phone number, and evidently gave the wrong one. I was told that my error could not be corrected, and no joke, was told I could not use my coupon. I had ordered 2 Gyros, and told her I only then wanted the one, of course a little annoyed. I was then told the total for both, as if she ignored me - and had to state again I only wanted one - which seemed to actually annoy the employee. I will not return to the Overland location. Usually I have better luck at the gyro shack but lately not so much. I always get the vegetarian order which is different than falafel (I really wish they had falafel) but this time by veggie food was super squishy. Maybe I'll have better luck next time. read more

This place is a must whenever I am in town! I can't get enough of it! Delicious food and cheap. The famous one amongst our family is the Z and the original. Food is always fresh. Definitely did not dissapoint. read more

Great gyros, great service, but be warned there are limited places to sit and only outside if you don't want to eat in your car.

i know how hard it can be to find a good gyro. i don't want frozen sliced junk. this is chunky gyro meat! this place has good gyros at low prices. A regular for under $4! they'll have to raise their prices at some point but get it while it's hot. good hummus too. I've been going to the new one on state st. great after kayaking food. read more

I only go to the location on Overland and Cole, because it's the closest one to me and I've heard it's the best one. I really like their gyros. Chicken or lamb. I love the green hot sauce and always order it on the side. (If they put it on for you it is too messy). They are really nice to me and it's a really tasty meal that doesn't make me ill feeling like most fast food joints do. If I was trying them the first time I'd get a deluxe gyro (because feta is yummy) with the green hot sauce on the side. read more

Updated review! 4/3/16. So this used to be one of my favorite places to go, but ever since it was bought out I stopped going. I'll tell you why! The chicken used to be so flavorful, now lacks flavor because they're using regular chicken breasts. They changed the menu, for some reason. You ask me, I have no idea why. The menu was great before! Thank goodness their pita bread and tzatziki sauce still tastes the same. Also want to point out one more thing, their Pepsi always tastes funny. I don't think I'll be visiting much anymore, sadly. read more

Super Deluxe Gyro is so good I had three of them in less than a 24 hour period. I just flew into town on a Friday and had been traveling all day. Airport food sucks so I was starving and my wife suggested this place cuz she had a buy1 get1 and we wanted something quick. Can't believe we hadn't known about this place sooner. To make up for lost time we came back for lunch after soccer game next day and grabbed and extra to go. Five stars cuz $2.99 gets you a great gyro that beats anything from a fast-food joint. read more

Ok so I was skeptical about drive thru Greek place but these are by far the best gyros I've ever had! Definitely worth every penny... And there isn't too many pennies to be spent here because it's inexpensive good food! I get the original with the side of hummus and pita while my husband usually goes with the ultimate. Love it. Absolutely the best in town. Wonderful combination of textures and tastes. Fresh ingredients, slight crispiness to the meat, soft pita bread, tang of yogurt sauce, hot sauce if you want. Ugh, ordered a gyro and fries. "Fries" were sliced pita bread with feta sprinkled on it. Gyro meat was rancid bad. Straight to the trash.

Not my first gyro, and not the best. The thing that saved it for me was the tzatziki, which elevated an otherwise tasteless dish. I found the lamb to be dry, and the ratio of vegetable to meat to be unbalanced-in favor of the meat, oddly enough. Generally lacked depth of flavor and left me unsatisfied. I wish Casba was still around, their gyros were killer. read more

This place picks one thing and then nails it: gyros! There's a few different varieties, but I always stick with the deluxe. When I'm looking for a quick and inexpensive lunch, this is usually my destination. The Gyro Shack can't be beat. read more

My girlfriend and I had been pretty upset about not finding a good local food place in Boise since moving from Seattle. That being said, the Gyro Shack is amazing, we eat at this place at least once every two weeks. The amount of food that you get for the amount of money is great. Not to mention it is a great that it is a drive through. We will continue to eat here for the rest of our stay in Boise. read more

Stopped here on our way to Nampa it's right off the interstate and is a drive thru. I'm glad we stopped fed a family of 5 for under 20 bucks! And the strangest thing happened there was more meat then lettuce in our gyros. Would definitely reccomend to anyone that likes gyros. read more

Not sure why so many strong reviews. The Z gyro was decent, good and spicy. The gyro fries were a disaster, dry, tasteless. The regular gyro was just average at best, little flavor or pop. Kids had a chicken meal that was dry. Get a gyro, but that's about it. read more
