Stumbled upon Hammerstone's and was not disappointed with the Saturday live music. Chill atmosphere, great drinks, and food! The band was friendly and engaged with the audience.

Hubby and I were doing a historical walking tour of Soulard and stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday around 11am. And, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and everything on the menu was so affordably priced. I ordered the vegetarian 3-egg omelet filled with spinach and Swiss cheese and Irish potatoes and rye toast as my sides. Our server was great. The inside is definitely bar atmosphere. I'd like to try sitting out on their nice patio area next time.

This is a fantastic boozy, bluesy, divey and overall fun bar. Drinks are stiff, the bars are great, patrons are friendly.

This is a cozy little bar with a nice outdoor patio. We went to hear the band, Soulard Blues Band so we stayed inside. It has a lot of atmosphere, kind of divey, but good, with quite a few people who looked like regulars at the bar. The food was very good and the music was great!

Went hike this morning. Friend picked Hammerstones for Brunch. Nice day and real crowded. I ordered 2 eggs breakfast with Irish potatoes, bacons and toasted wheat breads. They were very good. Bacons smoked tasty and it was good. I'd come back again. Thank you

Hammerstone's is located in historic Soulard in St. Louis. Established in 1997, Hammerstone's occupies a building that dates back to the late 19th century, originally serving as a tavern. Hammerstone's is a fun brunch spot that's definitely worth a visit. The omelets are fantastic, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The hash browns are equally impressive, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Loved this brunch on the patio.

Hammerstone's Famous Chicken Tenders and Fries & German Wedding Soup

I had not been in here in years but was here on a recent weeknight to meet a friend for an early dinner. The server sold me on their soup special, German Wedding Soup. It was like Italian Wedding Soup but with bratwurst instead of meatballs. I was intrigued. I ordered that and the 1/2 order of chicken tenders and fries which turned out to be a $5 happy hour special. Everything got delivered at once. I enjoyed the soup but felt like it was overly salty. The chicken tenders are hand breaded with a tempura batter and tossed in corn flakes. I really liked the texture of the batter and these would have been great except they had no seasoning at all. The fries were a basic crinkle cut but fried crispy the way I like them. The honey mustard was a good one. My dinner date enjoyed the same soup and a burger. Service was friendly but definitely different than the regulars at the bar were getting. Excellent value on the happy hour menu! I'm sure you're here for the music and the atmosphere rather than the food. I'll be back!

Who knew Hammerstones had breakfast? I didn't either, until my daughter suggested it. We sat down right upon arrival at a bar table and were quickly greeted by our waitress. I ordered a bloody Mary and thought it was perfectly seasoned and flavorful, not too spicy, but just the right flavor. Everyone got something different, so we could try a variety of items. Breakfast pizza, French toast, two egg breakfast, and the chicken and biscuit sandwich. The inside was not too loud for how crowded it was, but they also had patio seating available. I could have hung out there all day on the patio, but my teenage kids had other plans for the day, lol! If you are looking for a good brunch spot in Soulard or a place to start your day drinking, go visit Hammerstones. You'll be glad you did!

The owners are super fabulous! I came for an event during the 12 hours of charity and the owners are on site and really encouraging customers to donate to charity without pressuring them. The staff was so friendly and outgoing. I never had an empty drink in my hand. The bartenders are constantly checking on us, as well as other staff members coming around. It was definitely different than what I'm used to, usually you have to get the bartenders attention to be able to get a drink this is not the case here everyone was very Attentive. The band was great they played every music, and I will definitely be returning to this far in the future! The pricing was very reasonable. I would say below what I typically spend at a bar, and they offered great food as well.

We started with Stella on tap, which just felt appropriate while visiting St. Louis, especially after touring the nearby Anheuser-Busch brewery. It was easily one of the freshest Stellas we've ever had. For food, we tried the lobster mac and cheese, lobster bisque with pieces of lobster, a pound of steamed crab legs, fried green tomatoes, and the warm lobster roll. The lobster roll was phenomenal. We shared it, but I honestly could have eaten the entire sandwich myself. The real standout, though, was just how perfectly the seafood was cooked. Both the lobster and crab were juicy, sweet, and tender with just the right amount of chew. Nothing was rubbery or overcooked, but it wasn't soft or mushy either. I genuinely don't think they could have cooked the seafood any better. The fried green tomatoes were also cooked perfectly and something I was excited to try since you don't see them on every menu. Unfortunately, they were a little too spicy for my personal taste, so we didn't finish them, but that's definitely more about my spice tolerance than the quality of the dish. The atmosphere was another plus. It's a really cute setup with great ambiance, and our server was wonderful. We also walked right in without a reservation and had no wait at all, which has honestly been one of our favorite things about eating our way through St. Louis. Coming from California, we're used to having to plan ahead for popular restaurants, sometimes weeks in advance. Here, we've been able to discover some fantastic places without having to plan our entire trip around restaurant reservations. I will say, this was probably the most expensive meal of our trip. The one pound of steamed crab legs was $65 market price, and the lobster roll was $37 market price, so Peacemaker definitely isn't the cheapest place we've eaten. That said, considering the quality of the seafood and how much we enjoyed everything, it was absolutely worth the splurge. From the crab legs to the lobster roll to the bisque and mac and cheese, everything we tried was delicious. Combine that with the atmosphere, great service, and being able to walk right in, and this was easily one of our favorite meals in St. Louis. I'm actually hoping I can convince some of my coworkers from my training class to go back with me before I leave Missouri. I think that probably says everything you need to know about how much I enjoyed it.

We came right on time and were sat immediately. The inside was lively and buzzing. Right after we were sat, our server came to introduce himself and take our drink order. To start, we each go a Caesar salad, we split an order of calamari, and I got the flower power to drink. I was warned before hand that the drink I chose would be an "experience" but that I should enjoy it. An experience would be an understatement. The salad was good and I loved the croutons, although they were a bit tough. The calamari was quite tasty and seasoned well. As for my drink, let's just say I was NOT prepared. The drink itself wasn't the problem but more so the buzz flower that accompanied it. You're supposed to eat the flower first and then drink. It comes with a glass of prosecco as a palate cleanser but I don't feel as though it did much. I'd say that flower kicked in within 15 minutes and ultimately, that's when things took a turn. At first it felt like pop rocks in my mouth and then I started to feel awful. While the chaos was going on, I managed to eat my blackened salmon, which was delicious. I like the general vibe of the restaurant. In the past we have had good experiences with the drinks. For us on this night the food experience fell very flat. It started with the cheese/tomato soup that I got with my burger. It was flavorless and tasted like water lightly infused with some tomato and cheese flavor. My medium burger was well done. Maybe even a step past well done, and was not edible. My wife's meal was good, but forgettable. The drinks were still good, but the poor food quality was a huge let down. The last part that dampened the mood was where we sat. They have a modest outdoor patio and then seating on the sidewalk along the front. We had put in a reservation for outdoor seating. As we walked up there was one table on the very far side of the sidewalk seating almost into a parking lot. I turned to my wife and said "I hope that isn't us." It was. It was just an awkward spot. It also mean that our server didn't check in with us that much. So overall, great spot for drinks. Really outstanding drinks.
