We were a little disappointed in the lamb ribs we thought they would have more meat on them but they barely had any and made out tongues feel weird. Their menu was very helpful to look at and help make decisions on what to get. They have little thumbs up on their most popular dishes we a lot are pictured in my image. Food was pretty good, hot but not as spicy as I would have liked. They treat customers differently based on ethnicity. For example, all Asian customers received nice, reusable chopsticks while every caucasian/other customer received cheap and splintering wood chopsticks. Disappointing as I was really looking forward to trying this place. They also do not have lunch combos nor lunch menu options anymore. Went by myself and overall it was fine but won't be coming back. Our family comes here all the time and we've eaten their food for quite some time. This place started out as a branch off of q noodle house in Rowland heights and then fong ling bistro in diamond bar. They are, in my opinion, a great place for Chinese food. My usual measurement for Chinese food restaurants is the shredded bean curd with pork. I've been eating since a kid. Do it right and the sweet soy and brown sugar sauce will marry with the fat of the pork and the bean curd will give the food an added texture and the mildest of acidity. This place does it well, in my opinion, and that's why it's a favorite of my brother and the rest of my family (by default). This place offers family combos, three dishes for 20 bucks that change bases on the day. I would consider this place an asian-american restaurant, making crows pleasing Chinese inspired American food as well as traditional Chinese food that marries old school taste with the bounty of meats available in america. One star down for the fact that this place is on the pricier side, but Chinese food like this in Chino hills can be hard to find. read more

I've gone here a couple of times with family and always have pretty good experiences. Some of the dishes I've ordered: 1. Fried bread roll: depending on how it's cooked, it can be a hit or miss. When I had it, it was fried just right. I love dipping it with condensed milk. 2. Bamboo with mixed veggies and beef: another one of my favorite dishes here. This dish was very tasty and was not too saucy or oily. When you want switch up your orders, give this one a try! 3. Rice cake with veggies and beef: one of my favorite places to get this dish. It's not too oily and the rice cakes are cooked to perfection - slightly chewy! Also, the sauce, veggies and beef taste great with the rice cakes. 4. Beef roll: the most disappointing beef roll I have ever had. The beef was dry, the wrap did not look appetizing and overall it was just not a memorable beef roll. This place is a gem!! We order from them every time I visit my parents. The owners are such great people too. Their spicy seafood noodle soup is amazing!! We always get their pan fried pot stickers, shanghai dumplings, and beef rolls as well. Portions are decent and the prices aren't super expensive. Such a great mom and pop shop, and you'll see that they have loyal customers so they do get busy, but usually food is ready in about 20-30 minutes after you order online. Discovered this place while i was waiting in line to eat next door. Decided to try this place when I met up with my dad for lunch. Average chinese food. There's a big menu with things ranging from Taiwanese to Chinese cuisine. My bf ordered the pork chop rice..said it was decent..but he liked the ones from 101 cafe in Diamond Bar better. I ordered the soybean paste noodles...and it was nothing like that ive had in the past...it was kinda odd...there wasn't really any "sauce"..but mostly ground pork i think...im used to the ones with the thick almost black sauce which coats the noodles...this one didn't do that at all...odd..but not bad...not something i would order again though. My dad ordered some kind of noodle soup and this marinated cold platter with seaweed, pig ears, dried tofu, and beef i think..i dont eat pig ears..so i tried a piece of the tofu and this dish was pretty tasty..well seasoned. My bf also ordered the pan fried dumplings and it took forever to come out....the pictures looked really good..but it was the worst dish we had. The dumpling skin was limp and soggy while there was barely any meat filling inside. DO NOT order this dish here. The ones from Earthen in Hacienda Heights is a million times better. The restaurant is pretty small, but the food kinda took awhile to come out for some reason. I'm used to food coming out fast at asian restaurants..so this was kinda odd. There is a reason why Panda Express is the largest Chinese restaurant chain in the States. They tone down their dishes to the extent they are no longer recognizable in dumbed down way that offends the Wannabe Ramen Snob. True Chinese food has a grittiness and authenticity and Happy Kitchen delivers this in a way that you will never find at Panda Express. For instance, last night I had tofu with seaweed bows. They offer the more less commonly offered "cuts," ie the dougan, which is drier and more flavorful. You'll know you are getting dougan since it is more firm and more tan with a brown outer crust that have soaked up the seasoning. They use herbs like cilantro, which may offend the uninitiated. That's the whole point. They are not PC in the gastronomical sense. And that honesty at every level--on the telephone, when you're ordering, in their cooking...you get the point. Happy Kitchen offers nightly "family" dinner special, comprising 3 dishes, usually meat protein, veggie, and tofu. The special used to be a better deal. Now it hovers around 25 bones, good for take out. Just call ahead of time, unless you want to hang out their soaking in the ambience. Review is only for take out only. We have ordered Beef with Beancurd to go. They never disappoint. But the portion I think smaller than the dine in. So we ordered two portion to go for the whole family. I also ordered Fish with Blackbean sauce, but it is pretty average, same as other Chinese Food. On the other hand their Beef with Beancurd is something special since it is cooked with Chinese Preserved Vegetable, making the dish SO GOOD, a unique taste like no other. Also to go order was prepared in plastic container with lids, not a cheap plastic foam container that I felt better in terms of hygiene.
