Packed here on a Sunday afternoon, usually I love this chain. Usually. But with the proliferation of boba places in Austin, gotta be consistent to get me to come back and my first time here, my drink was off. I ordered the jasmine green milk tea and while the boba was perfectly sweet and chewy with a perfect hint of sweetness (honestly some of the best), the drink itself left my to be desired. I ordered 50% sweet and I could tell it was super over brewed today - bitter, next to no floral notes that I'm used to from jasmine tea and on the watery side. Sigh. Added some sugar when I got home and that made it better but still regret paying for it when even after the fix it was just ok. read more

They had waffle samples and they were deeeelish! We had to order one! We ordered 4 drinks with the bogo: matcha mango, ube cream, and 2 oreo milk tea! I've probably been here 50 times this year and the flavor of every drink has been on point. Customer service is also really nice and the employees are knowledgeable of the menu. The recent trend with boba shops in Austin is to offer BOGO during their grand opening. So I waited until after the grand opening to avoid the crowds and see what a normal day would be like. This shop definitely feels bigger than the other location in North Austin. There is plenty of seating and if you come mid-day on a late spring day, it'll be pretty empty. I really hope this changes since it's really close to the ACC Highland campus. The shop faces the I-35 access road and is near the first driveway into the Linc shopping center when heading south. Be careful pulling into this driveway as there is an intersection immediately and lots of blind spots typical of Austin shopping centers. Linc doesn't have much retail and is mostly food places and service places so there's not much foot traffic. Just park right in front of the shop and since it's a little further away from Easy Tiger there's lots of parking. Happy Lemon seems to be part of a post-pandemic wave of franchised Boba shops opening in the Austin region. I find their boba to be on the sweet side and you will need to go 50% or less on the sugar. 50% is still sweet. As for the pearls, they are all right. They don't stick together and they are more on the softer side. They don't seem to overly sweeten the pearls or add honey to the pearls. I got the Ube smoothie and I liked how creamy the smoothie was. Definitely had a nice ube flavor (think a mild version of sweet potato in taste). I didn't pay much attention to how they assembled the drink - but my guess is it's probably ube paste and ube powder - so not the real stuff not even the frozen ones- you might have to make a trip to the provinces of the Philippines if you want that during Christmas time. Price-wise the price is over $6 but it's large. You can probably share this if you are not that thirsty or hungry. Since i skipped lunch; the ube smoothie was perfect enough to last the afternoon before a late dinner. They also have bubble waffles that are made to order. The also have a bunch of salted foam cheese drinks. They are not the first to have these drinks in Austin but they have quite a selection of these drinks as well. and of course lemon-based fruit drinks. I have yet to try any of their tea-based drinks as well. read more

First of all when you walk into the shop, it smells like cake batter. It's absolutely divine and I highly recommend you buy a waffle, you can't go wrong, just do it! This is my first time here. I saw it as I passed Easy Tiger and decided to download the app and place an order for pick up. You do have to physically go into the store to pick up your order, but that allowed me to hang out in my car for a little bit and chat on the phone. Also there's plenty parking because you know we love a good plaza shop! I ordered both of my drinks at 25% sugar and thought that they were perfectly sweetened so I am nervous of what 100% sugar would be in these drinks but I love that it's an option to control how much sugar. After reading other reviews, I agree, I would like a dairy free and gluten-free option, but the waffle was one of my favorites. I got the Matcha waffle, and to be honest I can't really tell that it's flavored but what I love is the crunchy texture on the outside and the chewy center. I ordered two seasonal drinks. The first was a fresh apple lemon green tea. The second was a strawberry Matcha latte. The apple lemon green tea. Almost taste like it had a hint of jasmine tea and there was floral undertones and it was really lovely and refreshing. The strawberry Matcha was divine. I prefer to be dairy free and I thought if they offered this with coconut milk instead of regular milk, this would've been something I come back for time and time again maybe sometime in the future they'll have options like that. I want to preface, historically I'm not into Boba tea but the website goes into great detail about the authenticity and history behind this shop and why it's so unique. It was less sweet than Share Tea, which was a good thing. The boba was a little smaller than what I'm accustomed to. It is a sweet little spot that is pretty quiet and has games you can play while you're there, free WiFi, etc....but the BEST part is the bubble waffles...or bubble tea...or bubble waffles...they are both so good. I have now tried all of the waffles and really love the chocolate waffle with salted cheese. I was a little wary about the salted cheese...until I tried it! It is unlike anything else and is ridiculously delicious. I have gotten fruit tea (they blend the entire lemon, so refreshing) but I am pretty committed to the Vietnamese coffee with puff cream, it's UNBELIEVABLE. Lastly, the staff is awesome. Had ordered the strawberry shortcake smoothie and mango lemon slushie. But we're delicious. They monitors on the far left tells you what drink orders are being made which is nice. There were many tables and seating area at this location. Most locations I been to do not usually have this much space. There is even a game corner which is great for spending time with group of friends to hang out. If you ever come here for the first time and do not know what to order, you cannot really go wrong. Really good, if you LOVE lemons. I ordered the blended lemon honey black tea with 25% sugar and it still tasted really sweet, like 50%. I would say blended might not be for everyone, as you can definitely taste the bitter rind. Didn't try anything else unfortunately, I want to come back with friends and try more!
