I went 4 years ago when my brother was living in Boston. I still think about these sandwiches basically once a month, if not more-- even 4 years after going. This is quite literally one of the best things I've eaten. So amazing! If you like roast beef sandwiches, then this is THE place for you. I can't say it enough. My brother and I talk about these sandwiches all the time (yes, I know that sounds crazy) and we always say: Not too bloody, not too dry. It's the perfect roast beef. The bun is toasted to perfection and that sauce. My GAWD. So good. Look if you are here, don't expect excellent service or even good service. You just aren't going to get it. SO WHAT?? They leave you alone after you get your food, which I actually prefer. They know what they are good at and that one thing: making the best goddam roast beef sandwiches ever. Not service. Sandwiches. This place is the greatest. If you like it, you have great taste. If you don't like it, your taste is questionable. I think it was around 1995 that my parents first started bringing me to Harrison's and the first couple years I'd only get chicken fingers..total blasphemy I know. Once I finally had a med beef, sauce, and cheese I never looked back . I think at one point in high school I was eating there 3 times a week. It's hands down the best roast beef out there, better than Giovanni's in Peabody or Kelly's on route one. The consistency is amazing, 21 years of Harrison's roast beefs and I've never had a bad sandwich. So we were out and about in the area looking at property and we told to eat here by a Realtor. I have looked at some of the other reviews and have no idea why it gets such high marks. Food was ok, nothing special. Roast beef a tad bland but was ok with the addition of a little salt. Plenty of beef on the roll, so no complaints about quantity. Tables and chairs could use some love, scruffy carpet, everything was old and worn out. Great if you like that kinda thing. The place seems to be run by a band of overgrown gorillas. Young males who care nothing for the customers or clearly the owners business. We were there at around 1pm on Saturday and the place was basically empty and I can see why. These young men cared more for joking around, texting and generally being meat heads. I watched as they cursed at each other, gave each other the finger, in plain sight of the few other customers and just generally acting like unruly teenagers. But the real reason for the review and why I will not be eating here again. I watched one of the larger gorillas take a bag of trash outside and fling it towards the trash receptacle outside. He missed. He turned to walk away and looked right at me through the window. I was sure since he knew I watched him miss, he would go back and pick it up off the floor, but no he just left it on the floor, I assume for one of his colleagues to pick up later. He walked back into the restaurant straight back into the kitchen, grabbed some food (a bag of frozen fries) and started cooking. Not a hand wash in sight. Disgusting. Been living near Harrison's most of my life and loved it. Recently in the last year they have gone way down hill. Rude service. Locking the door before closing time! Went there tonight with friends from New York who were visiting. The site says they close at 10. Got there at 9:15 and the doors were locked!!! Very angry. My friends were very upset since this was a destination for their vacation!!!!!! Not the first time this happened! Happened many times. Sad that the business had gone down the crapper. The best roast beef sandwiches I have ever had. Period. Although, I have never had anything besides the roast beef, the fries, and the onion rings, I have always enjoyed my experience there. My favorite is the large roast beef sandwich with everything on it except for the onions, but I do not recommend it for people with a light stomach. It is a lot of food and flavor and occasionally I find that I, a veteran of the place for 2 years, cannot even finish the whole sandwich. The food is awesome, but the facilities are not the cleanest or best kept. The men's room doors do not really close and the place always feels dirty. The parking lot does not have actual parking spots, so that can be troublesome in dealing with other cars. Despite these shortcomings, I still gave them a five star rating though because I do not go there for the restaurant, I go there for the food. The people that work there are great. Always excited to have a conversation or share laugh with you. They have the process of food making down to a science and speak to each other in their own "Harrison's" language. It is by far the best place to grab a lunch or early dinner in the area and I plan on continuing to go there. My recommendation is that if you are looking for a fancy, upscale place that has waiters in suits with spotless tables and fine silver utensils, this is not the place for you. But if you want a place to grab an awesome sandwich and eat it with friends, and you don't mind eating over a plastic tray on a bare table, this is the place for you. read more

Worst customer service I have ever seen. Extremely rude staff. No greeting, no thank you a very dismissive tone as if the customers were imposing on him. Without a doubt the lack of basic customer service understanding overwhelmed the experience of the food. The one star also reflects the place being a complete dump. Nothing fancy, if you're looking for roast beef in the valley harrisons is the best. The roast beef is better than your significant others. I order heavy sauce with cheese. Waffle fries are the same everywhere but always delish. Highly recommend if looking for a quick bite and in the mood for awesome, perfectly cooked beef. Now that I live in Hampstead NH I don't get there 2 or 3 times a week any more but when I do it's still the best roast beef as always. Good chow. Everyone comes for the roast beef -- and I've been firing these guys up since the Riley's days over in South Lawrence. If you go at off hours, sometimes it's not quite up to snuff, but it's a great take. I've got to say, as much as I love the roast beef, the chicken cutlet's a great sandwich in its own right. The fries are top notch, and the pizza roll is great. They move the line too when things get ugly during top traffic times, and if it wasn't for the slight dropoff in quality that I get sometimes at off hours, I would have gone 5 stars here. having lived in the Merrimack Valley all my life, and a good 16 of those years in North Andover, i am more than familiar with Harrison's, i ate here alllllllllllllllll the time growing up, hell it was my first roast beef sandwich ever, and was the sandwich that made me into a roast beef addict, but what the hell happened to this place? I've been here probably twice in the past 6 months and had a horrible experience both times. First time the roast beef was cold, they skimped on sauce even though i asked heavy, and they forgot my onion, whatever that's cool, i'm sure it's pretty difficult to do your job after you just shot half a gram of heroin into your arm. Second time was just about 4 weeks ago and was the final straw. Don't get me wrong i understand it was a little late, it was something like 11 at night, but then again i always hold the stance, don't be open if you can't serve the same quality item you served in the afternoon. The roast beef was cold, overcooked (dry, no red, all black), the bun, well let's just say i'm sure they serve fresher bread at Guantanamo Bay, And to my final point, the price, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! HOW CAN YOU CHARGE THIS MUCH?!
