Food 5/5 Service 3/5 Reservation system 1/5 Drinks 1/5 I was looking on resy for last minute reservations. I found Hato and saw that they had a DineLa offering as well! So I made reservations at 4:45 for 5:30pm on resy. But when I got to the restaurant, they couldn't find my reservation. I double checked the address and location - but they said they were sold out of fish (????) but to wait. Long story short, they ended up seating us 15 minutes later. What was odd is that resy still had a lot of open reservation times but they were apparently booked? IDK anyways something is wrong with their reservation system and resy. I got an email from resy saying thank you for dining at Hato, the next day. So maybe call and make sure they got your reservation especially for same day because the restaurant is small and they don't have a lot of capacity to tolerate overbooking/booking errors Ok but now the food- We got the 95 dollar tasting menu and it was divine! We loved the snapper rice to share for the table. The cuts of sushi were perfect and they used dry aging and various marinades. We had an option of choosing mixed raw fish rice (hato rice) or toro tuna rice - both were so good. The food just kept coming and we were super full at the end. The black sesame ice cream is way better than the green tea which was too mild for me. The servers could also have explained the sushi better too. It was too quick and also the plates were placed in different orientations which made us question which one was which. The house wines were 5 dollars a glass and tasted worse than hot gas station wine. I wasn't expecting much but it was awful wine. I wish they had a better drink menu.

DineLa Unagi Donburi Set - highly recommend! What a great price for all of this food

I wouldn't have found this restaurant if it wasn't for them participating in DineLa and I'm so glad I did! A beautiful restaurant in a small shopping center with parking spots and plenty of street parking. It was half full when we arrived around 1:15 on a Saturday and quickly filled up - might be safe to make a reservation. I ordered the Unagi Donburi set on their DineLa menu and it was incredible!! Everything was sooo delicious: fresh fish, unagi was perfectly cooked, the seasoned rice with sesame oil, the crispy seaweed roll with the sweet dipping sauce was out of this world. I was so happy eating this whole thing. I would love to come back and try other items like the mala udon, toro bowl and sashimi sets.

Food was great! Came here for Dine LA but the service was unacceptable. I just bought a new camera and decided to test it out with my friend, and the servers were visibly pointing at us, talking shit and laughing at us the entire time. If you're going to clown people, at least do it in the back where the customers can't see. Won't be back.

I got the Hato donburi set during lunch and it was delicious! Parking was easy (lot parking, but I also was able to find street parking easily). Service was friendly and quick. Food tasted great-- well seasoned, fresh, and might I add, aesthetic. Would come again!

Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty which is crazy because this place has amazing quality and flavors and free parking in ktown is unheard of! They do start valet later at night though. We got the Hato donburi set and one eel donburi. My friend doesn't really like raw fish but the sashimi here was so well prepared and fresh that they thought it was really good. Personally I was really full from the donburi set but my friend believed it to be less filling. The portion sizes are smaller but I think they're actually perfect for how much they give you. We started off with the rock shrimp tempura which was nicely fried and really flavorful with the eel sauce and spicy mayo. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, plump, and juicy. Now for the set, the Salmon, tuna, snapper, and white fish were fresh, well prepared, and high quality. I would come back for their $45 dollar omakase and think that it's worth it! I love that the cucumbers were fresh. The salad was a bit wilted but I didn't mind. The mackerel was perfectly cooked but I wish the skin was a bit crispier. Now for the main course the donburi was filled with so many different types of minced fish which wasn't fish at all with savory umami hits from the ikura. For 28 dollars this set is a steal! If you're craving sushi come here!

Our go-to sushi spot for a chill date night. Usually come here on weekends & ample seating is available. Reservations not needed. There is a small parking lot that appears to be valet only. Recommend their sushi, toro bowl, hot stone dishes, eggplant appetizer, everything...lol. Also save room for their signature Hato dessert!

Loved it so much when I came here the first time for dine LA back in February that we had to come back in March for more. They don't disappoint! Service, cleanliness and quality is great. Valet parking only and pretty cheap too. Toro bowl is a must and add uni to for that extra creaminess 5/5 Hato hot stone bowl is a good filler to share 4.5/5 Sushi was on point

We saw this place on IG and decided to check out their DineLA menu. Restaurant inside is pretty small, about 10 or so tables with most groups doing their DineLA deal. $95 for multiple courses. We started with the miso soup and salad, followed by chicken karaage, sushi/sashimi, toro bowl, then ended with the hot stone rice and ice cream. Each table only gets one serving of the chicken karaage and a choice of hot stone rice or udon. Some of the dishes were slow in coming out and the staff were very apologetic. The food was delicious and I especially loved the toro (fatty tuna) sushi and sashimi. Some of the other pieces of sushi had wasabi in it - wasn't a big fan because it felt quite overpowering, would have preferred to have just the fish and rice. We were filled after all of the courses and enjoyed ourselves greatly! There's also a raffle to win a labubu for those who participate in their dineLA menu. It's located in a strip mall with shared parking, can be difficult to get parking in the lot though there is a valet service. We parked one street behind the restaurant in the neighborhood and found parking easily.

I had a pleasant experience on Friday evening, what made me come in and explore was the Labubu giveaway as well. Located in the heart of Korea town, it is located in a plaza with valet parking available or street metered parking. I was lucky and found street parking. As soon as I walked in, it was not packed and I was sat right away. Interior décor is kept at dimmed lights, nicely decorated tables with lamps, place was neatly kept clean. I ordered the 4 piece gyoza and Sapporo beer to start off, the gyoza arrived hot and crispy, the sauce that it came with was so good it complimented the gyoza well. 5/5 for me I also ordered their baked salmon roll and although I did enjoy this roll, I felt the portions are a tad bit skinny for my likings, I decided to order their same roll; another one for me and this time I got full. 4/5 wish they were a tad bit more thick in consistency. While I waited for my second baked salmon roll, I was given miso soup which was deliciously hot. Overall a great experience for my first time, I recommend this spot if you are nearby and craving some sushi or beer.

7/13/2025 - This Sushi restaurant is situated in a plaza and has many verify of dishes. I like Sukiyaki udon (5 Stars) because the broth is authentic and delicious while the noodle is elastic and smooth with a perfect texture. The overall rating is 4.5. It has a shared and free small parking lot.

No wait, didn't make reservations. Place was empty when we entered. Sushi is delicious here. Scarfed them before taking pictures...but was able to get pictures of spicy tuna and Nagasaki Chan Pon. The Chan Pon broth is flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend! Parking lot is small and spaces are tight.

Came here on a Thursday night, there wasn't much people, but the food did not disappoint. [Food 5/5]: Ordered the 12 set of nigiri. The quality of the fish was better than I expected, since I've never heard of Hato before. Each piece just melted in my mouth. The uni was my favorite. It was so sweet and creamy. [Ambiance 5/5]: Nice dim lights, perfect for a date spot. [Service 4/5]: Service was fast and the waitress was nice. However, I just didn't like how they said they're closing and took away our sake even before we finished it. Other than that, the food was delicious. Definitely recommend.

The duck udon is flavorful with plenty of meat. The soup pair perfectly with the udon as well. There was a line outside before it opened. But not too bad. They got a little eating area outside right next to the street and I saw people ate there with their dog as well. I guess that they are "kinda" dog friendly?

The vibe is awesome inside; there's lofi playing at a nice level and the lighting is beautiful. It feels like an elevated experience right when you walk in. We didn't wait long as it was a Sunday afternoon, and our waitress was so helpful in deciding what to order (the menu is extensive!). We got the baked scallop roll, the crunch spider roll, and the Baja California roll. All three were amazing!!!! We also got spicy tuna crispy rice and the gyoza to start. I am not joking when I say they were the best restaurant gyoza I've had in Los Angeles. Juicy, warm, nice golden crisp on the bottom, and flavorful filling. The baked scallop roll was my personal favorite of the three; it was warm and savory, with an excellent bite from the juicy scallops. It was a great contrast to the Baja roll, which is cold and has crunchy elements to it. And the spider roll was one I didn't expect to like (my boyfriend wanted it), but ended up being my second favorite! The soft shell crab flavor is deliciously salty and pairs great with the surrounding flavors. I'll definitely be back for more!

I've been eyeing n/naka for 4 years and each year we would try to snatch up a reservation but they would disappear within minutes and when we finally were so lucky to get a reservation (I literally cheered) I could absolutely see why eating at this establishment is highly desired. There was parking down the street toward the neighborhood and upon showing up at the front doors there was a line of people waiting for their time slot, we were checked in one by one and seated. This restaurant is pretty small but it has a great calming ambience and feels intimate. The staff is very attentive and friendly and I loved learning about n/naka's history since we came during their anniversary and got to taste some of their creations throughout the years. We loved that with each dish there was a meaning behind each one, and honestly most course meal places we've been to are very similar but n/naka's courses were unique and we tasted a good amount of items that were very new to us. It's so hard to describe each dish that we had, because we were so pleasantly surprised by their unique flavors and techniques. Plating of the food was so pleasing to the eye and done with meticulous care. All the food was cooked perfectly and even the simplest dishes such as clam soup warmed the heart. Some standouts I noted was the fish dish on if I remember correctly a bed of Kambu (seaweed) and these home grown peas, supremely the best peas I've ever had in my life. The ice cream/sorbet with the side crumble was so so good. The opening dish (the one with the flower cracker laid on top) and the carrot cake looking item was very unique and tasty. I also was very impressed by their I believe it was some sort of freeze dried soy sauce if I can remember, that was so unique to the palate. This may sound silly, but my partner and I were absolutely amazed by the palate cleanser halfway through the meal, we have had many palate cleansers at fine dining restaurants, but none like this one. Generally palate cleansers are tart and I would say help reset the palate at 50-60%. But this tapioca and fruit palate cleanser was the best we've ever had. It was light, crisp, refreshing and it literally eliminated the taste of everything we had previously eaten at a 100% efficacy rate. I've never felt my mouth feel that clean and pure--it was astounding. We both were truly in awe. The staff were really so polite and attentive. At the end of the meal we saw Chef Niki walking around to the tables and felt so special when she dropped by. Our conversation was short but wow, you can tell Chef Niki is a very genuine and humble person. She makes you feel so comfortable in conversation and with her extraordinary gesture, she just makes you feel so special and appreciated. It was hard to explain this experience because the euphoria just lasted for days, weeks, if not months. We told all our friends about n/naka and I hope they'll one day be able to have that experience as well. We thank Chef Niki and her team so much for making our 4th anniversary the best one! And hopes she can take breaks when she can, she deserves it and more!

The venue is small and does not have a bar or indoor waiting area so plan to arrive right on time. The guest waited outdoors until our exact time of seating (and they are right on time). N/Naka is a very intimate 28 course seasonal modern kaiseki that serves a combination of both fresh sashimi and warm courses to satiate your palate (heavier on the warm dishes). Seasonal ingredients from Japan and California are used to curate the finest delicacies. Therefore you're likely to try various specials with the changing seasons. I loved the Zensai which presented 7 small palate warming appetizer bites. Comes in a cute bento box like format. The creamy potato puree and tempura bites were my favorites. For the main course, I absolutely loved the Uni and Dungeness crab....so exceptional. Served in an actual Uni shell and filled with warm Dungeness crab meat and broth, egg white soufflé, and topped with a whole Uni. This should be their top dish. Another phenomenal course was the Rockfish. The fish complimented very well with the snap peas and kelp which brought out the flavor of the rockfish. Perfect!!! Shiizakana is their signature dish which made its debut on chef's table and served year round. An abalone truffle pasta. This was good but for me personally wasn't a highlight. Overall a good experience. At dinners end, chef Niki Nakayama came out personally to share our experiences. We got to meet the artist that curated this amazing dinner. Thank you Chef! Loved the experience. Get on that wait list ASAP!

The restaurant offers outdoor seating overlooking the lovely green turf and provides tall heaters for cooler evenings. My husband made lunch reservations here and told me it was just a quick 10-15 minute walk from our hotel, The Ritz-Carlton. We crossed a few intersections to get there, and it was well worth the walk. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming host. The ambiance is light and airy, featuring high ceilings, light-colored walls, and light wood furnishings. The overall aesthetic is clean, modern, and very inviting. We stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the "Eggcellent Lunch" prix fixe, which included the following: *Tuna Tataki Handroll ~ seared wild caught tuna, tomato & shallot salsa, rayu chili oil, ponzu, micro cilantro *Seaweed Salad ~ w/minced garlic. Served alongside the Tuna Tataki Handroll *Squid Ink Karaage ~ 2-day brined fried chicken thighs, squid ink, house pickles, grilled lime, black garlic ranch *Chicken Breast Skewer ~ char siu marinade, black sesame *Bacon Shishito Skewer ~ applewood smoked bacon *Chicken Meatball Skewer ~ sous vide egg yolk & tare dip Bottom line, everything had visual appeal and was packed with flavor! If we lived locally, we would definitely return for dinner. I have no doubt the rest of the menu would be just as tasty, and I can only imagine the restaurant coming alive in the evening with a lively crowd, happy diners, and a well-stocked bar.

Still did not feel rushed. Bacon-wrapped Shishito- 5/5 sooo yummy my favorite bite of the night. thigh + green onion- 5/5 a classic, delicious and not too heavy. Chicken meatball- 5/5 I was surprised at how much I liked this one. Very juicy but not overwhelmingly meaty. Porkbelly- 5/5 another classic very yummy and i liked the wasabi? they put on top white prawn- 0/5 : this was NOT good. my only skip of the night left a gross fishy flavor in my mouth. I did not enjoy mushroom party- 5/5 i love mushrooms so I adored this one. Great assortment. Ribs- 4/5 very sweet would suggest getting a veggie to cut the sweetness and richness. Overall very yummy. A wonderful experience. I would love to come back. The drinks were also strong and yummy!
