Update from our previous review. Three of us went today, July 9th for breakfast. We were seated right away and drink orders placed. The Chai Tea was very good and coffee for hubby was good and refills were given. The food was really good and we enjoyed ourselves greatly! Server was very attentive and as always the place was friendly and clean. The music was nice and not overly loud as some other places can be to the point you cannot have a conversation. First time here, and we are so happy we came! The restaurant was super clean with a cool, fun ambiance that made it a great place to enjoy brunch. I had the chicken and waffles with a cranberry mimosa, and it absolutely hit the spot. My husband also ordered the chicken and waffles and paired it with a watermelon mimosa, which he really enjoyed. Our daughter loved her blueberry crêpes with Nutella and an orange juice. One of the best parts of our experience, though, was our server, McKenzie. I came here as part of a brunch outing. I came with a friend and was seated pretty much right away. It was only 9 AM so I found that part of the experience pretty enjoyable right off the bat. Some brunch places are so booked that you have to wait over an hour just to get to sit down. The staff was pretty nice and approachable. They do ask one or more times how everything is and whether we need anything else. It was just about the right frequency and not too excessive. I ordered the meat lover's omelet with hash browns on the side. The dish came out pretty timely. Also, the seasoning was just right as well. Other than some of the meat like the sausage being on the salty side, it was the right amount for me. Some restaurants will compensate for their flavors by adding too much salt or seasoning. Luckily, Haven Haus is not too excessive with theirs. The only complaint I can offer is the Eggs Benedict that my friend ordered. We found the egg to be on the raw or uncooked side rather than a light poach. Otherwise, I thought the meal seemed just right to me. The sound level was a bit on the higher side. You could hear all the other guests chit chatting in a low roar kind of way. It's not too bad and I think it's still low enough for you to have your own conversation. It could be a bit hard to hear something like a phone call or a more complex discussion. It may be too loud if you really need to catch up with someone for years but otherwise, might be just enough. Cookie cutter breakfast menu, not that it is a problem. But the breakfast we had was not up to standards enough to make us return. What tempted me was the Eggs Benedict. It was beautiful to look at, but not as good as hoped. First of all, my dish was not hot. I wished the English muffin had been toasted sufficiently to crisp up those craggy parts. If it was toasted at all, I could not tell. The hollandaise sauce was rather bland, not bad, but missing a bright, lemony flavor. And probably a bigger expectation, the poached eggs were barely runny. What were good were the nice pieces of good tasting bacon and fresh spinach leaves. That saved me from being wholly disappointed. I chose their house potatoes to go with the Benedict, but these came out barely warm, and worse yet, old tasting. I ended up requesting they be replaced with hash browns, and those were great, a big improvement. Our other breakfast choice was a Blueberry Belgian waffle. It was unremarkable tasting and lacked crispness. Again, it was not particularly warm, the butter on top did not melt. I've had better. The server was very good considering they were pretty full that day. However, the food took much longer than it should have to arrive, which may have explained why nothing came out hot except for the crispy hash browns that replaced the disappointing house potatoes. One final note. How hard is it for a restaurant as long-staying as this one is, to serve a decent glass of water? It was undrinkable. I shudder to think what their coffee must taste like. read more

PSA: if you or your child is noise sensitive, bring ear plugs or your loop. On top of the typical conversational din, music is played on the loud side. Not bad for normal but may be difficult for those who are sensitive. Our waitress was a sweetie. She offered to turn the music down a notch for us. She was also wonderfully attentive and offered great advice on the food. The space is fashionably decorated and very IG-worthy The food: they know how to plate their fare to make it all IG-worthy. We ordered their breakfast platter and wow, it's a lot of food. Was glad we had ordered it to share. Basically they took a food tray and filled it with full servings of waffles/pancakes/french toast and 6 each of sausages/bacon, bowl of fruit and scrambled eggs. Just went here for my birthday and it was AMAZING!! Ambiance: SOOOOO CUTESY AND AESTHETIC!! I loved the decor they had going on! The music was the perfect volume, not too loud but it wasn't dead silent in there, and the bathrooms were clean! Service: I wish I remembered the waitresses name but she was AMAZINGGGGGG. I want to start by saying our server Dre was absolutely amazing. One of the best servers I've ever had at any restaurant establishment. A friend told me about this place. So as I was looking for a brunch spot we decided to come here. Its an ok size place, I love the decor and the music and atmosphere here. They dont try to pack a lot of seating into here like other places (Madre, im looking at you). So it feels spacious and nice. Our waitress was super nice. Very knowledgeable about the menu. Checked on us frequently. And was just bubbly and friendly without being forced or exhausting. They have quite an extensive menu. Breakfast and lunch all day. They even have several types of coffee flights and coffee drinks. I ordered their birria tacos, bone in chicken wings and signature coffee flight. Food comes out quickly. But the quality and taste was just OK. The birria in the taco was all clumped together. It was quite odd, and a little off-putting. Having to bite thru that hunk of shredded meat. It was on the oiler side of things. The consume felt too thin. They served it on a wooden cutting board type plate. Which is nice and all, until the juices starts dripping off the side of the board because its all flat.... the chicken wings were really tiny. Like as though from a baby chicken. Flavors were good. Nice and sticky sauce to it. The flight of ice coffee was not good. It felt watered down and diluted without being cold. After the ice melted it was even more watered down. It was just sweet on sweet. Presentation looked beautiful but that was about it. I rather have cold black coffee from home then drink those again. What really saved this review was the fact that we were able to sit and talk for some time. And our waitress was super nice and attentive. I think I'll order something else when I come back. Chilaquiles verdes with soft scrambled eggs were a 10/10. The green sauce was mild and flavorful (I asked for some extra on the side) and my soft scrambled eggs were done perfectly. Finding a brunch spot that knows how to cook soft scrambled eggs can be a hit and miss and how I rate a place has a lot to do with how they cook my eggs. Haven Haus nailed it. Walked up was slightly busy for a Sunday morning. Only had to wait about 15 minutes. Was given a table that most accommodated us. Amber was our server. She's very kind and knows what to recommend. Came here Sunday afternoon, and first thing I gotta say is this place is one of the coolest looking restaurants around. The ambiance is impressive with how much thought went into it, and it's hard not to appreciate how well it all comes together. The staff are all very kind and won't shy away from a pleasant conversation. I ordered a build your own omelette that had chorizo, feta cheese and mushrooms. Also ordered Spanish latte and French toast. My girlfriend had 2 eggs and hash. The food didn't take long at all. Overall, the food was "ok." Didn't taste bad, didn't taste delicious. I couldn't really taste the chorizo or feta cheese and it was on the dry side in texture. The potatoes were probably the best thing. The French toast was underwhelming. There just wasn't anything that had any flavor in any meaningful way. The only thing that had flavor was the Spanish latte, and that was too sweet, so I don't think the food was worth the price. That said, if this is addressed then I recommend this place to anyone around, I'd say it's worth a visit just for the very pleasant visual appeal. So overall, the food was mediocre at best. The only downside was the parking. Many of the spots directly in front of the restaurant are limited to 30 minutes or an hour, likely due to the nearby gym. There are untimed parking spots a bit farther away in the plaza, which wasn't an issue for me, but it could be inconvenient for anyone with mobility challenges. Came here for the coffee flight and a solid breakfast. I only successfully achieved one of those missions. The food absolutely delivered. Zero complaints. Would happily eat it again. The coffee situation, however, was... less welcoming to my decaf existence. I was told they can only do decaf as warm drinks, which I can live with. I then asked for a decaf cappuccino and was told yes, they could make it using a pour over coffee. Yes. A pour over. For a cappuccino. At that point I could practically hear an Italian nonna dropping a wooden spoon somewhere in the afterlife. Because we all know a cappuccino is built on espresso, not "whatever we had lying around near the kettle." So I respectfully bowed out of the coffee portion of the experience and stayed loyal to the breakfast. read more

Haven Haus is a go to for us. The interior is decorated so boho cute (Bob Ross painting on the TV for ambiance value) and the prices are very affordable for brunch nowadays! The staff is usually great, and this visit was no different. Amber was our server and she was fantastic. We ordered a seasonal beverage (Maple Espresso Latte) which was soooo delicious. Not overly sweet, a fall feel to it and an edible leaf to bless my instagram! The only feedback I would have was that it wasn't super hot. It was just warm and I'm a sucker for a HOT coffee. We also ordered a Classy Benny with regular bacon and avocado toast with an egg. Both were great, but both eggs could have been cooked for maybe 20 seconds longer as the whites were a teeny bit runny, but not to the point of being grossed out (IYKYK) haha. Both were tasty, good portions, seasoned, flavorful, etc. our only feedback on the food is the same as the coffee. They were just a tad luke warm. The waitlist here gets pretty wild on a weekend (so does the parking), so be sure to utilize their online waitlist! Very helpful! My only complaint: Ordered food for my son when he arrived (after we were finished eating) and it took over 25 minutes for this one dish to come out- mind you - it was after 1 and not as busy as when we first got there. We got their popular coffee flight and it was OK. The coffees were not that great and they were very small portion for the price that it was, we went ahead and placed a bigger order for drinks and like I said again coffee sounds great on paper not too great once you're drinking it we then placed our order for our food. Portions are OK. The food is not that good. Everything was very mediocre and extremely expensive for what it is , Like I said I believe you're paying for the atmosphere the look of the place the trendiness ,if you want good quality food and good drinks this is not the place. It's OK for a little coffee and a regular sandwich maybe some cute pictures for your social media We placed an order to go for my daughter's husband and unfortunately he ate it when we got home and got violently sick. We did call to report it and let the management know what happened and to him they acted like It was not an issue. They did nothing about it. Been coming here for a while now and I love the vast menu! Some items are a hit and others I find to be whatever. This last time I went I got the Chilaquiles in Salsa Verde with Chorizo and it was truly amazing! So much flavor and would definitely get it again. I love their specialty drinks and find their matches are all pretty good. I do suggest checking in online for their Yelp WaitList as you could wait a pretty minute.
