Just searching for sushi places on Maps and found this place that was nearby. So happy we did! Service was amazing. They took the time to explain the options to us [AYCE or a la carte]. We were able to do both at one table. My BF did a la carte as he doesn't love sushi like me. I opted for AYCE. Ordering a la carte comes sooo much faster than AYCE. Assuming it's so they can make sure we do not share. My BF ordered oysters $8 which came with 3 oysters topped with masago and sauce, yellowtail handroll $5, and spicy garlic edamame $7. Everything looked good. His oysters looked bigger with more toppings than AYCE. AYCE dinner price was $38.98. The premium items you can only order once. I loved the carpaccio items. My favorite roll was the cherry blossom, which was fish & shrimp wrapped using pickled radish and no rice inside. The presentation for everything was beautiful. We will definitely be back! read more

Everything about this place is so good! I came for the weekday happy hour of $20 for AYCE and I got in over my head with the deliciousness. Hahaha I couldn't finish all the pieces but they had mercy on me and let me leave it as it was. The place is also really cute and bright, I prefer eating here than taking it out. read more

Hygiene is important. It was a Nice place. Clean table. (I didn't check the restroom; hopefully next time). Staff were nice and friendly. The service was good and reasonable delivery time. All you can eat option was available ($31 per person for lunch). You can order for 3 rounds. Food was delicious . I liked calamari and shrimp tempura as appetizers. First of all, service by Erika and Kimberly was amazing! They were very sweet and attentive. The food came out quick and we didn't have to wait long in between rounds. The salmon was fresh and enjoyable. I also liked the baked mussels, tempura, deep fried oyster, salmon skin hand roll, and smelt egg nigiri. The specialty rolls were rather large so be prepared. Super lucky that we got in and seated right away. This place is usually a good 30-45 min wait that is SO WORTH IT! Super cute inside ambiance is nice culturally themed and noise level is what you expect an open concept restaurant to be. Staff is friendly and some speak Spanish which is neat! They have an AYCE option for around $38ish a person pretty decent sized menus for both AYCE & A la carte. Everything taste fresh and packed with flavor! We have one non sushi eater in our group who was pleased with their non sushi options and enjoyed his chicken teriyaki plate, he practically licked it clean! Came here for the first time on a Saturday for lunch and was surprised at how quickly we were seated. The experience here was great. The servers were so attentive, willing to offer suggestions on certain items, and were very friendly. We did the all you can eat option and the price was fairly reasonable. There was a lot of options to choose from and the quality of the food was pretty good. Nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to other AYCE sushi places except for their great service. I would NOT recommend this place. Food was decent and service was terrible. It was pretty busy when I visited which is understandable however my party came across many issues. We got sat at the bar and placed our first order for AYCE. It took us 30 mins to receive our order but when the food came to us it wasn't even our order! Another waitress from another section came to help us and turns out our waitress didn't even input our order. When our order finally came out we didn't even have plates or utensils. We placing a second order and it never arrived. After sitting around for 2 hours we only got one round of AYCE and terrible service! Every time we asked our waitress for something she would ignore us and were barely helped by other staff. read more

First time coming in and it was better than we expected! The fish is very fresh and everything tastes amazing. Our favorite roll was the strawberry lemon roll. You don't find too many AYCE anymore and this place was great! The staff are kind and welcoming, constantly making sure you have everything you need. Came here on a Friday night and they were pretty packed. We went with the a la carte because my family knew we could not make AYCE worth it. I wanted to love this spot because I remember trying it togo a while back and thinking it was so good. To start off our meal, we ordered the Spicy Edamame, which was just that, spicy, but it was lacking flavor. For the other appetizer we ordered the salmon carpaccio, which I would not recommend, it had ponzu and this white mayo-like sauce that was not good. We ordered a variety of nigiri pieces, which included cajun tuna, salmon, yellowtail, escolar, salmon egg, Seabass, and bluefin tuna. My favorite pieces were the yellowtail and escolar. Yellowtail was sweet as per usual and the escolar was super buttery, which just melted in my mouth. To be honest, looking at the bluefin tuna was kind of upsetting because it costed more, but it looked exactly like the regular tuna. As for the classic rolls, we just ordered the tuna roll, which in my opinion, was too big in cut. My table ordered three specialty rolls, which were the dragon, orange, and rainbow. One of my favorite things was the crispy rice spicy tuna. The crispy rice was not too hard with the perfect amount of crispness and spicy tuna had good flavor. The reason I could not give them four stars is because they were super unorganized. To start off, our server came to us and asked if we had gotten everything and we stated that we were missing three items. When she came back from talking to the other staff, she stated that we should have already received the sashimi combo, but when we stated we did not, she looked as if we were lying. But after further discussion, she went to the back and notified the chef that we had not received our sashimi combo. While waiting we received another dish that was not correct in size meaning that the salmon carpaccio for the a la carte menu should include 5 pieces of salmon, but we were given a plate with 2 pieces of fish. Our server was quick to send it back and correct it. After some time had passed, we finally received the sashimi combo. I have had better places so I will probably not be returning to this spot. read more

Nope. In fact on Weekends they charge dinner prices. Haven't been back to Hello Sushi since we found the great place in San Diego. Also some of their employees don't wear face masks as you can see my previous Yelp review regarding this!!
