Stopped by Hey Chicken for dinner since a lot of neighboring restaurants were packed. Quality was not too bad- the fried chicken was juicy and crispy. It did take some time to get our order, but everything seemed like it was freshly fried. Very much fast food quality and pricey, but it's filling. The Hey Chicken sauce was ok- I would skip if you don't need sauce.

I came here for their cuttlefish ink fried chicken and it was really unique. The store is inside the Main Street Cupertino plaza and has table seatings. When I walk in, the staff were in the kitchen, so I ordered using the kiosk and waited around half an hour. The box was closed when given to me, but I want the crust to be crispy so I left it open. The chicken is smaller than a regular chicken and feels a little overpriced, but the flavor is delicious. I got the spicy flavor which gives a nice spice kick and the meat was juicy. Overall, pretty good fried chicken and I'll probably return for the other chicken options.

~3.5 rating I tried their spicy chicken wrap and their chicken wings. Chickens wings are crispy and flavored perfectly(reminded me of the Asia kfc) Would get it again. The chicken wrap was okay. Felt like there should be more ratio of lettuce(and cucumbers too). Their take out bags are reusable! Nice quality bag.

Decided to try this place out since I've been seeing this store pop up around CA. Expensive chicken place for bland fried chicken. In a busy plaza but the store was nearly empty. The chicken here is fried well and comes out hot (temp). It is very crispy. I got the spicy chicken sandwich but it had no spice to it at all. I saw the red from the spices but didn't taste it. Good buns not much sauce or lettuce on it. The popcorn chicken only tasted like crisp, oil, and chicken. The fries were not good and they use below average frozen fries. The sandwich costs $12 for just the sandwich. The menu price was not accurate. For the price of the items it should come with sauce and spices but they sell them separately. About $1- 50 cents for spices/sauces. Food was so bland I caved in and got the house special sauces but even then it was not good.

I came here to pick up some pastries from Tiny Croissanterie and decided to try the chicken as well because who doesn't love popcorn chicken? I'm not sure why this place is rated so low on both Google Maps and Yelp since it's insane volume for value and the chicken is delicious! I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the chicken drumstick (which is $4.99, understandably would make one do a double take because it's literally just a chicken leg) is actually MASSIVE. The chicken here is also so juicy and flavorful, and has a great spicy kick to it. Would definitely recommend and will probably stop by again to try their sandwiches and other items!

We came here on President's Day at around 11:30am. There was no line, and we were probably the first people in the store. We ordered on the kiosk and the iPad restarted on us, so we had to order again. I wasn't sure of the portion sizes and given that it's an Asian spot, I just figured the portions were small. Wrong! We ordered: 2 pc Spicy wings - nothing super memorable. It's good and comes free if you order more than $15. Chicken thigh & chicken drumstick - delicious! The cumin in the seasoning really came through. These pieces are huge and the chicken is fried to perfection. Spicy chicken sandwich - not really that spicy but the portion size was huge! Nashville hot chicken thigh and drumstick - our fave!! It was so good we took it home and added to a sandwich since it wasn't an option here. 100% recommend ordering this if it's the only thing you're ordering. I took off a star because their hey chicken sauce doesn't come free and when we bought it, it wasn't that good. I'd skip it. They also are kinda slow for us being the only ones in the store, I'm worried how they'll handle a larger crowd. Hadn't happened yet because they're new but who knows.

Something definitely feels different here. It used to be packed with customers at lunchtime on weekdays. You can dine inside as desired. Today feels empty. It feels like a place to just make money in and out. Nothing special here. Not cheap/expensive and overpriced for chicken sandwiches. I ordered at kiosk to go. $12.99 New Orleans chicken sandwich and $4.99 chicken nuggets 6-pieces. Limited appetizers and meal combo selections. You have to buy sauces separately and there's not too many beverage options here. In general, chicken meat at Hey Chicken locations are deliciously good, but my sandwich was average in presentation. Chicken nuggets were thick and chunky. Love chicken meat, but I wanted good location vibes too. I still prefer the River Oaks San Jose location for better vibes. This location feels a bit dead these days. Not sure if they can survive high inflation times. This is your average chicken sandwich/chicken meats/chicken combo place for quick bites. They could do much better here if they want to. Afterall, location isn't cheap around here.

Overall Experience: 7.0/10 Came here multiple times before writing a review, and the experience has been Okay- Good each time. The place has taken over Pelicana Chicken and is a new Fried Chicken spot. The layout is the same, two TV's on the inside and the same bench and ordering area. They did add two self check out kiosks next to the benches but those are the only major difference in layout. The Food: We tried their Squid Ink Fried Chicken, Fries, and the Nashville Hot whole chicken. They were all juicy but the flavor for the squid ink fried chicken was a little missing. The fries also were crispy but under salted for our taste, and was not too soft on the inside. The Nashville Hot whole chicken was my favorite but it does seem like it was not super juicy on the inside. They do fry the chicken well for the crisp, but I do think it needs a little bit more flavor. Overall Experience: The chicken is good, but not amazing in my opinion. It has a nice crisp but is lacking in other areas but that may be because of an unlucky batch. I would give it one more try again in the future but I would come here if you have a strong craving for chicken and is already on Main Street.

Located in Main Street Cupertino, parking is plentiful, however availability is limited. The interior is small but more than enough seating good for small-medium groups. Noise level is quiet. There are 2 kiosks in which you can place your order. New Orleans chicken sandwich (4/5): the chicken was tender and juicy. Flavor was a bit lacking though. There were lots of veggies which is always nice to have. The fries were absolutely heavenly. So crispy and fluffy. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Hey Chicken is a great restaurant. The sandwhich was good and the fries were delicious.

This is the new place that took over pelicana chicken in Main Street. Their menu is similar to macho burger in Sunnyvale but I think they are lacking in flavor. I got the crispy spicy chicken sandwich, New Orleans double chicken sandwich and popcorn chicken. They were both pretty big, but the New Orleans one is huge, with 2 gigantic slabs of marinated chicken. The chicken were very crispy, perfectly cooked in my opinion for the crispy sandwich and popcorn chicken, but really missing out on the flavor. However, I really enjoyed the New Orleans sandwich, the chicken is especially juicy and flavorful. The sauce paired with the chicken in this sandwich was perfect as well, I'd come back for this specific sandwich again, but maybe not their other crispy chicken items if the flavor stays the same.

4.5 STARS Goodbye Pelicana Chicken... Hello, Hey Chicken! Opening today is Hey Chicken's second Bay Area location (1st is in San Jo). They're a fried chicken franchise from China, essentially a Chinese KFC/Popeyes. Open for takeout, delivery (Fantuan), and indoor seating. Communal outdoor seating in the plaza. M E N U Fried chicken in various forms: sandwich, wrap, bone-in pieces (whole, thigh, drumstick, and wings), nuggets, and popcorn. - Flavors: original, rattan pepper, nashville, cuttlefish ink (black chicken), and new orleans (inspired by general tso's chicken). - Seasoning (add-on): Garlic, cumin, sichuan, etc. - Sides: fries, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. For drinks, they have bottled tea, canned soda, and sparkling water. O R D E R I N G Contactless ordering via two kiosks (Chowbus). You'll receive a text when your order is ready. Pre-ordering online is not live yet. F O O D * Hey Cuttlefish Ink Whole Fried Chicken ($22.99): https://tinyurl.com/4efj5fj5 I've been to their San Jo location where they were sold out of this so glad they had it available here. Ignore the jarring color because the squid ink adds a salty umami to the hella juicy cornish hen with a deliciously crunchy batter. Even the breast meat is juicy. The skin is perfectly rendered, not greasy or oily. Def recommend this over their original recipe that I find flavorless. * Sauces (99 cents each) - Ranch: Standard, added ketchup for tang. - Hey Chicken: I believe their take on big mac thousand island-ish sauce. Tasted like straight mayo, not much flavor. Please add an acidic hot sauce option! S E R V I C E Very friendly owner/staff. Order was ready in 15 minutes as quoted (fried to order). A M B I A N C E Same vibe as Pelicana Chicken with eight tables/booths and two large TVs. Top 40s playing. No bright, cutesy mascot mural yet. P A R K I N G Chaotic parking during peak weekend times. Overall, Hey Chicken is a nice addition to Main Street Cupertino. If you're craving Chinese style fried chicken, check 'em out!

I like that you can get single wings and small bites here! Sometimes it's a huge commitment to eat an entire order of chicken wings, so this is great! What I don't like: their price is off for what it is. It's not gonna break your bank, but it's definitely gonna make you debate if it's worth it or not. The chicken wrap was skinnier than my forearm and although it was decent, it wasn't $12 decent. I also don't like how SNEAKY THEY ARE. They had NO SIGNAGE about paying a fee if you spend less than $15... And even though the fee was a less than 50¢c it's the principle of being transparent with your consumers.

I wanted to try this place out, so after tennis, I came here with the homie yesterday and we had a bad experience here. The printer wasn't working and we waited 20 minutes for our food to come out. I ordered the C1 combo and there was a mix up on my food. I did ask for onion rings on the side, but they forgot to ring it up and I assumed they had my order correctly. It turned out I didn't so I had to get back in line and buy it. I think it's interesting you can either have fries or substitute it for 2 pieces of chicken wings, but unfortunately I regret getting the chicken wings. I took a bite of my sandwich and noticed it was pink inside the chicken. It was cooked, but at the same time it was borderline raw lol. Same with the chicken wings, it was pink in the inside. I didn't get sick, but my friend got an upset stomach the next day. The pictures displayed on their kiosk/website does not look like the sandwich in person. The chicken sandwich also had no flavor so I ended up throwing away all my food and decided to eat at home. I did have high standards for this place since it's located in a busy plaza, but I was wrong.

The box itself is a little disappointing since it seems like they skimp out a bit in the fries and popcorn chicken. My favorite is usually the mini tacos, although they are an acquired taste since the meat is kind of like a paste. Overall, you get exactly what you expect from jack in the box.
